5 essential Shooting Drills

What's up guys? Matt here from Become Elite and today I'm going to go over five essential shooting drills that I think all of you guys should master. [Music] You guys love these ones. You love these videos and you're always asking me for shooting drills, but I've been in Germany and I haven't had a full-size goal to be able to show you guys. But now I have a full-size goal. I have tons of space. So now I'm going to go over my five favorite drills to do. So, the first drill we're going to do is called the stationary shot. So, what we're going to do is put the ball on the PK spot, and you're just going to take a few steps back and just lace the ball right down the center of the goal, 10 times with the right, and then 10 times with the left. So, once you're feeling warmed up, what we're going to do is instead of going right down the middle, we're going to aim for the corners. So, you're going to hit one shot at the bottom left corner, one shot on the bottom right corner, one shot at the top right corner, one shot at the top left corner. Doesn't matter what order you do, just hit all four corners with the right foot. And the same thing with the left foot. So drill number two is the rolling shot. For this drill, what we're gonna do is just put your foot on top of the ball and when you're ready, roll the ball out about 2 to three yards to the diagonally to the right or diagonally to the left in front of you. And then just approach it and hit a moving ball on target. Doesn't matter where it goes on the goal. The focus is just on getting great contact with the ball and making it go exactly where you want to go. You're going to take 20 shots with each foot doing the roll to shot method. The third drill is called the move to shot. So, what you're going to do is put one cone about at the the semicircle at the 18 yard box and then walk 10 yards back and put another cone down. You're going to stand at that bar cone with the ball at your feet. When you're ready, you're going to dribble at the cone with pace and then you're going to perform a move. It can be any move. It can be a shoulder dip. It can be a step over. It can be a double step over, elastico. It doesn't matter. Just perform a move. Hit the ball out diagonally past that second cone and then fire a shot on goal. You should treat that second cone as a defender. So you want to do your move about three to four feet in front of it so he can't steal the ball from you. You're going to do 10 shots with the right and 10 shots with the left. After the move to shot, we're going to do the cut into shot. For the cut into shot, we're going to stand on the corners of the 18 yardd box and you're going to roll the ball parallel to the 18, almost along that 18 yard box. and you're going to roll it about 5 yards in front of you and you're going to approach it exactly parallel with the line and you're going to hit a moving ball to the far corner using the instep of your foot. It's going to be a curling ball away from the goalkeeper. Going to do 10 shots with the right foot and then go to the other corner and do 10 shots with the left foot. The fifth and final drill is the back to goal turn and shot. So, what you're going to do is stand on the semicircle of the 18 yardd box with your back to goal and you're going to act like you have a defender posted up on you. So you when you're ready, you're going to dip one way either to the left or right. And then with the outside of your foot, you're going to push it and tap it out diagonally kind of behind you to either direction. And you're going to spin quickly turn. And then you're going to fire a shot on goal using the instep of your foot. And you're going to just try to finesse it into the side netting. You're not going to go for power. It's just going to be a quick fast shot away from the goalkeeper. And that's it. That's my five favorite shooting drills to do. I think it works on almost all aspects of shooting. It's great. So, go out and try out these drills. Try to implement it into your own training program. Maybe do this entire program if you're up for it. But yeah, I hope you guys like it. If you do, give me a like, give me a comment, and of course, subscribe to the channel. I love seeing you guys. I love seeing the growth of the channel. It's awesome. Uh, that's it. All right. Peace out, guys. [Music]
