Our Mission

Goal: Democratize textbooks for the 21st century.
Offerings: High-quality interactive textbooks available for free to all students.
Engagement: Utilize web interactivity to enhance learning.
Support for Stakeholders: Built a Learning Engineering and Analytics Portal (LEAP) for teachers, authors, and researchers.

Learning Engineering:
- Application of evidence-based principles from educational technology.
- Focus on creating engaging learning experiences and understanding learners better.
Analytics:
- Dashboard for instructors to track student progress and determine classroom focus.
- Data for researchers/authors to identify effective content and improve textbooks.
Portal:
- Free access for students to interact with textbooks on any device.
- Tools for teachers to create courses, grade work, and monitor student progress.
- Resource for authors/researchers to test pedagogical strategies and gain insights on learning.

Collaborated with the PreTeXt project for an authoring tool to create interactive and accessible textbooks in various formats (HTML, ePub, PDF, braille).

No-cost textbook hosting: Quick setup without local IT involvement.
Ad-free experience: Available when logged in; ads shown to un-registered users.
Privacy protection: No exploitation of personal information.
Open Source: Textbooks licensed under GNU-FDL or Creative Commons.
Code Freedom: MIT open source license allows server modifications.

Books are free and open source for educational purposes.
Usage data is collected to improve learning experience and inform content revisions.
Data shared with researchers is de-identified.
