Installation Instructions for Polaris RZR Tree Kickers

Hardware & Tools Needed

Hardware Supplied

  • 4 plastic pipe caps
  • 4 half-inch L bolts
  • 4 half-inch nylock nuts
  • 4 half-inch washers

Tools Needed

  • Drill with 5/16 metal bit
  • Rubber mallet
  • 3/4 inch socket
  • T 40 screwdriver

Installation Steps

Initial Setup

  1. Organize Hardware and Tools: Lay out all supplied hardware and needed tools.

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Install Plastic Pipe Caps:

    • Use a rubber mallet to tap the caps into the open ends of the tree kicker until flush.
    • Repeat for all open pipe ends.

  2. Remove Torx Screws:

    • Using a T 40 screwdriver, remove two Torx screws from the bottom side of the machine.
    • Save these screws for later use.

  3. Drill Out Threads:

    • Use a drill with a 5/16 metal bit to drill out the threads where the Torx screws were seated.
    • Blow away metal shavings afterward.

  4. Install L Bolts:

    • Insert the long side of the L bolts into the larger holes.
    • Align and thread the T 40 screws into the L bolts, but do not tighten completely.

  5. Remove Third Torx Screw:

    • Remove the third T 40 screw located above and to the right of the previous ones.

  6. Mount the Tree Kicker:

    • Align the tree kicker with the L bolts.
    • Install a washer and nylock nut on each L bolt but do not tighten completely.

  7. Secure Top Flange:

    • Pin the top flange of the tree kicker in place.
    • Use the previously removed T 40 screw to secure it completely.

  8. Final Tightening:

    • Completely tighten the two T 40 screws on the L bolts.
    • Tighten the half-inch nuts.

Repeat for Other Side

  • Follow the same steps for the other side of the vehicle.

Quick Review of Steps

  1. Remove bottom T 40 screws.
  2. Drill out threads using the 5/16 metal bit.
  3. Insert L bolts and thread in the T 40 screws loosely.
  4. Remove the third T 40 screw.
  5. Mount tree kicker and install half-inch washers and nuts.
  6. Secure the top flange with the T 40 screw.
  7. Tighten all screws and nuts completely.
