The Four Types

D-Type: Dominant

  • Characteristics: Controlling, powerful, assertive, demanding, forceful, strong-willed, determined, ambitious
  • Biggest Strength: Achievement-focused, decisive, competitive
  • Weakness: Care less about others' emotions, may seem too tough
  • Famous Examples: Michael Jordan, Angelina Jolie

I-Type: Influential

  • Characteristics: Communicative, convincing, magnetic, enthusiastic, persuasive, warm
  • Biggest Strength: Great at talking, sharing stories, connecting with others, positive environment
  • Weakness: Not great listeners, often over-promise and over-commit

S-Type: Steady

  • Characteristics: Calm, relaxed, patient, possessive, predictable, deliberate, stable, consistent
  • Biggest Strength: Consistency, steady performance, reliable
  • Weakness: Dislike change, quieter and shyer, may see this as a weakness
  • Famous Examples: Julia Roberts, Tom Cruise

C-Type: Cautious

  • Characteristics: Careful, cautious, exact, systematic, rule-followers
  • Biggest Strength: Detail-oriented, logical, systematic
  • Weakness: May be seen as cold, struggle to get to the point, focus on facts and logic over emotions
  • Famous Examples: Bill Gates, Albert Einstein

Determining Your Type

  • Most people are a combination of two types, with one being stronger
  • Rarely, people can be a combination of three or even four types
  • Extroverted Types: D and I
  • Introverted Types: C and S
  • Active Types: D and I
  • Relaxed Types: C and S
