if you're looking for a project management system i'm willing to bet that you've come across asana asana is one of the most popular project management tools out there but does that make it right for you [Music] hey project managers i'm meredith and in this video we're providing you with a demo of asana but if you want to dig deeper be sure to check out our website at project management.com for in-depth articles helpful tips and info about project management software click the link in the description below to learn more asana is a place to organize projects delegate tasks and track progress towards completion to do this the system comes with a number of handy features like task management multiple project views automation and milestones you can organize tasks into projects and teams and asana even comes with a feature for project portfolio management asana works for companies of all sizes and comes in four different plans including a free forever basic plan if you want to test out some of the more advanced features you can even do a free trial for paid plans a sonic comes loaded with a variety of features to help you reach your project goals these features vary depending on which plan you choose so just keep that in mind when you're shopping around central to the way that asano works task management lets you add tasks set deadlines assigned to colleagues and organize them into projects this makes a song of flexible for working on a project with a set beginning and end or for working on an ongoing project like a content calendar for your blog if you need to really drill down into your task you can sort and filter by certain criteria asana also lets you create custom fields to suit the system to your needs after you create tasks and group them into projects you can visualize them in different ways to help you plan and see the big picture at the time that i'm recording this video asana supports four different ways to visualize tasks these are boards list timeline and calendar the board's view is essentially a kanban board it's much like you'd see in a tool like trello the list view is pretty self-explanatory it's just showing a list of tasks by project their assignee due date stage of completion and then finally the calendar view displays a color-coded view of tasks mapped on a calendar asana comes with basic collaboration features like commenting on tasks and file management but it also comes with more advanced features available in the premium plan and up first of these is the forms feature now forms are really just intake forms for creating new tasks and they're very handy for standardizing how work is done across your team and streamlining requests from other teams another feature is approvals and this lets you set certain tasks for approval from a colleague when your colleague gets an approval request they get three options to either approve request changes or reject work finally the proofing feature allows colleagues to add comments to specific locations on images and then converts those comments into subtasks when a decision is made last but certainly not least asana comes with several reporting features to help you keep tabs on your project's progress the goals feature lets you set company and team goals based on the okr approach to goal setting milestones let you track major project points at specific points in time necessary for hitting your overall target and portfolios are great for working with multiple projects across multiple teams to see a bird's eye view of how projects are going the workload report visualizes your team's bandwidth to take on new tasks and the dashboard feature lets you build customized and interactive dashboards with the ability to export and share certain charts hopefully this video will give you a better idea of whether or not asana is right for what you're looking for but if you're still not sure click the link in the description below for more tips on project management software tools please be sure to subscribe and turn on notification for more project management software videos and we'll see you next time bye
