Introduction

  • All major subjects are available for free on this channel.
  • Video lessons are also available for free.

Importance of the Circulatory System

  • The circulatory system fulfills the need for transport in our body.
  • Its main function is to deliver oxygen and nutrients to various organs.

Circulatory Fluids

  1. Blood

    • The red appearance of blood and its various components such as RBCs, WBCs, and platelets.
  2. Tissue Fluid

    • Fluid present in the space between organs.
  3. Lymph

    • Flows in organs like lymph nodes and spleen.

Transportation of Blood

  • Digestive System: Transport of nutrients
  • Respiratory System: Transport of oxygen
  • Excretory System: Elimination of waste products
  • Endocrine System: Distribution of hormones

Composition of Blood

  • Plasma: The liquid part with 92% water
  • Cellular Part:
    • RBC: Transport of oxygen
    • WBC: Phagocytosis
    • Platelets: Help in blood clotting

Blood Circulation

  • Four chambers of the heart: two atria and two ventricles
  • Double circulation: systemic and pulmonary

Blood Pressure

  • Importance of systolic and diastolic pressure
  • Normal range: 100-140 mmHg systolic and 60-80 mmHg diastolic

Lymph System

  • Lymph organs: spleen and tonsils
  • Function of lymph: Providing nutrition and removing toxins

Structure of the Heart

  • Function of valves between auricles and ventricles
  • Description of heart structure via diagram
