Once upon a time in the Daha kingdom, there lived a powerful brahmin named Sidi Mantra. He is known to be diligent in meditation. "O Sidi Mantra, I noticed that you are so diligent in meditating. I will give you abundant treasure as a gift. And because you also can't have children, then I give you a child. take this red bead." From the bead, light emanated and turned into a baby boy who was later named Manik Angkeran. Sidi Mantra was very happy. Bead Angkeran is always cared for and pampered. What he wants is always fulfilled. Over time, Manik Angkeran grew into a dashing young man. However, he has a different nature from his father. He is very fond of cockfighting. Everyday just gamble. He never stays at home. Where there is gambling there must be Manik Angkeran. But alas, luck was never on his side. Every time he gambles he always loses and leaves debt. Now all the treasures have been exhausted. Plus the huge amount of debt that makes Manik Angkeran secretly take the treasures that are kept by his parents. He is sure that with this treasure all his debts can be paid off and the rest can be used again for gambling. As if never deterred, he gambled again and lost again. And so on until all the property of his parents run out. Now, Manik Angkeran's life is far from calm because he is always being chased by debt collectors. One day Mpu Sidi Mantra intends to take a number of treasures in the storage area. “Hahhhh... Where are all my treasures? Why is it empty like this?” " Mma ... I'm sorry father ! I have used it for gambling. "It's you! I have warned many times, do not like to gamble. "Right now I need money to pay off all my debts." "I don't have a penny because you've spent it!" “ Tooloong... Help me dad! If I can't pay the debt they will finish me off." "Well, this time I will look for clues to help you." For the sake of the child, Sidi Mantra went to meditate to ask for guidance from the gods. "Sidi Mantra! Go to Mount Agung. There you will find a treasure that is guarded by a dragon named Naga. Besukih. Use this bell to call him." He set out for Mount Agung through a forest that is famous for being haunted and dangerous. After a long journey he arrived at the crater of Mount Agung. Sidi Mantra then rang the bell to summon Naga Besukih. Not long after that the dragon appeared from the cave. "What is your purpose in coming here creature? mortal?” "I ask for a little of your wealth to pay off my son's debts, O Dragon Besukih." "Okay, but I also have a message for your son. Tell him to use this treasure wisely.” “Thank you Dragon Besukih. I will pass your message on to my son. May the gods repay all your kindness." Sidi Mantra came home with treasure from Naga Besukih. Arriving at home he gave the property to his son to pay off all his debts and stop gambling. And if there's any left over, just keep it. Manik Angkeran also promised to do that. But promises are only promises. The habit of gambling cannot be lost. He spent all that wealth to return to gambling. And as usual, he lost the gamble. Soon Manik Angkeran came to see his father intending to ask for more money. "Bead! You have broken your promise. This time I don't want to help you anymore." Manik Angkeran was confused because his father was very angry and did not want to help him. While sitting under the tree. His daydream was instantly shattered because someone approached and advised him to go with his father to Mount Agung because he had occasionally seen Mpu Sidi Mantra going there. Maybe the problem can be solved. After hearing the advice from that person, Manik Angkeran rushed home. On the other hand, it turns out that Sidi Mantra doesn't really have the heart to see his son's condition. He finally decided to ask the besukih dragon for help one more time. Sidi Mantra left that day to go to Mount Agung. On the way home, Manik Angkeran saw a familiar figure. He paused for a moment to make sure. It was true that the figure was Sidi Mantra's father. Because he was ashamed of his actions, Manik Angkeran chose to hide while seeing where his father had gone. then decided to follow him. Manik Angkeran wondered where his father was going. Whether to Mount Agung or to other places. It turned out to be true, Mpu Sidi Mantra went to Mount Agung. Manik Angkeran continued to watch from a distance. Looks like the father stopped in front of the cave while ringing the bell. Suddenly he saw a large dragon coming out of the cave and talking to his father. It seems that the dragon gave a lot of treasure. "It turns out that my father's treasure all this time came from the dragon's gift. All right, I can do that too. Instead of asking the father , it is better to go directly to the dragon. Will definitely be given more.” After getting the treasure, Sidi Mantra went home and was followed by his son. Manik Angkeran plans to steal the bell from his father so that his plan is successful. Arriving at home, Sidi Mantra rested and waited for the return of his son with the intention of giving the treasure he had obtained. From Manik Angkeran's surprise he saw that his father had fallen asleep. he immediately took the bell. Then Manik Angkeran went to Mount Agung to carry out his plan. Arriving at the crater of Mount Agung , Bead Angkeran imitated his father by ringing a bell. Hearing the sound, Dragon Besukih came out of the cave. Even though he had seen the dragon before, Manik Angkeran's body still trembled with fear. From close range the figure of Naga Besukih is like a giant creature that can crush it in the blink of an eye. " Who are you ? And what is your purpose in coming here mortal? Why do you have that bell?” " I am Manik Angkeran, Sidi Mantra's son. My father sent me to ask you for a little treasure . took is his son. He went to Mount Agung to make sure. Naga Besukih had found out that Besukeran was lying. With anger Naga Besukih gave his treasure. "Take this treasure and never come here again! " When Naga Besukih gave the treasure. Manik Angkeran's attention was focused on a large gem on the dragon's tail. Manik Angkeran's greed appeared. He greedily slashed Naga Besukih's tail. Naga Besukih was in pain and tried to chase Manik Angkeran. But the dragon had difficulty chasing because he lost his tail. Naga Besukih then spewed fire from the trail Manik Angkeran's feet. The fire then grabbed every existing footprint. Until until Bead Angkeran. and burned his body to ashes. Along the way to Mount Agung, Sidi Mantra felt something was wrong. Sure enough, in the middle of the road he saw his son had been burned. Beside it is a bell and a dragon's tail. Sidi Mantra then brought the child and the piece of tail to where Naga Besukih was. He intended to beg to bring Manik Angkeran back to life. "I will bring your son back to life. But I have a condition, you must reconnect my tail.” "Okay, I'll comply with your request. When the haunted beads come back to life, I leave it to you to serve here forever." With his magic, Dragon Besukih's tail can be reconnected. The dragon also fulfilled his promise. From his mouth came thick smoke. Then came the figure of Manik Angkeran who recovered as usual. Manik Angkeran then prostrated himself to apologize to his father and promised not to do anything bad again. Sidi Mantra has forgiven his son but he tells them that they can no longer live together. He told his son to live independently. Then Sidi Mantra returned to Daha. On the way, he thought of a way so his son would not repeat the same mistake. Sidi Mantra draws a line with his stick. The line divides and divides the land in two. The waters have separated the two. The two landmasses are Java Island and Bali Island. The waters between the islands are now known as the Bali Strait.
