we'll start using an appropriate massage oil to use on the legs the first thing we'll do is perform some general kneading to spread the oil over starting on one leg and then to the other [Music] we can also go over onto the foot area we're going to focus the massage on the calf area first we prepare the muscles with some kneading giving a few big passes over the area we're ensuring we cover all of the muscles we make 5 or 10 passes depending on the tightness of the calves we can also perform a knuckle technique ensuring we do it progressively we start smoothly and gradually increase the intensity little by little we need again and now we can perform the technique with our forearm to knead with a little more intensity we do this to the center of the calf we drag over the whole calf very slowly we can also use our elbow now we use thumb pressure on three lines of the leg central internal and external for this we keep the thumb steady and simply slide very slowly so that it covers the right area we should be noticing the points of tension in the calves with the other hands you can hold the leg for steadiness if you find a point that is a little more tense you can spend more time there now we go to external part of the calf and now to the internal area we pass over the whole hand but the pressure is always on the thumb need again to relax the area after pressing we do sweeps from top to bottom that are very good for circulation we're going to start with some oil and you're going to spread it evenly onto their legs you can also work with the feet but today we're just going to focus on the hamstrings first with one leg then the other first we're just going to warm up the area before digging deep into it just like this [Music] now we're going to massage it in a lateral movement you can also ask the person you're massaging if it's the right amount of pressure here start using your thumb in the center of the leg but we shouldn't massage just the central area remember to massage the sides as well [Music] now we're just going to massage both legs to keep them warm and then we start massaging the hamstrings with our forearm applying a little bit of pressure before going in with our elbow remember to go slowly and gently [Music] use your thumbs to massage going upwards we'll massage the central area but also the sides of the legs just like this [Music] do [Music] so [Music] now you can use all the exercises we've just taught you and combine them to your [Music] liking [Music] we're going to start with some oil and going to spread it evenly onto their legs first with one leg and then the other this way we warm up the muscles [Music] the first massage technique we're going to do is this movement we'll go laterally on the leg start above the knee and then go higher up now we'll go parallel to the leg just like this [Music] [Music] to get deeper into the muscle and release the tension it has you can use your knuckles remember to go slower when using your knuckles so that we can best control the pressure we [Music] apply [Music] now we go back to the first massage [Music] technique [Music] we're going to do a new technique that consists in both our hands folding together and applying pressure like this you'll apply a little bit of pressure and then let go as you lift your hands up now we're moving on to another massage technique where we apply pressure using our thumb the movement needs to be slow and controlled like this you can do it three times in the central and external lines [Music] we can also massage the quadriceps using our forearms [Music] now we'll go back to warming up both legs so we can transition and do the same massage techniques on the other leg today we're going to focus on the lower back this is why we have the towel so low to start we're going to apply some oil and massage her lower back with a zigzag motion like this to make sure that the muscles are warmed up [Music] now that that's done we're going to start by putting one hand on the other side of her vertebrae and we're just going to slide down like this we apply the pressure as we go down and then slide our hands back up repeat this a couple of times in her lower back and then softly massage her lower back like this [Music] now we're going to do the same thing but using our thumb we'll place our thumb next to our vertebrae and then slowly bring it down like we did before [Music] um [Music] lastly we're going to do the same movement using our elbow just make sure to never apply pressure on the vertebrae as it can lead to injuries we simply place it next to the vertebrae as a guide and then we slowly slide down if it's too much pressure for them try using your forearm instead the movement should always be gentle [Music] to further alleviate sciatica symptoms we're going to massage the glutes and the nerves that are located in that region for this massage we're going to find the central bone located in the glutes and as they breathe out we will apply pressure using our thumb hold it for 10 seconds and then slowly release the pressure you've applied [Music] now you can go back to massaging the entire lower back region and do the same massage techniques on the other side we're going to start by adding some oil and spreading it onto their back like this [Music] now we warm up the area that we're going to work on by gently massaging it without applying too much pressure the movement should be slow so we can help the person relax [Music] [Music] now that they're relaxed and the muscles are warmed up we're going to use the massage technique where we slide our hands down using their spine as a reference apply pressure when going down and then gently bring your hand back go on one side then switch to the other [Music] good job let's massage as we did at the start to make sure that they are relaxed and the muscles remain warm we're going to massage their back using our forearm just like this remember not to apply any pressure on the spine it's only a reference point we're going to go from the lower back to the upper back and then vice versa [Music] you can also use both forearms like this [Music] the next technique consists in applying pressure with your fingers from the lower back and then when you have enough room you place your entire hand on their back like this we'll use both hands so it feels like a continuous massage making it extra relaxing you can also gently pinch the muscles like this and we go back to the first massage we were doing try combining these different massage techniques to help someone relax and enjoy a back massage to start we're going to apply some oil to the area we're about to massage with the bottom of your hand you're going to start massaging their shoulders so we can warm up the muscles we'll be doing big circular movements like this [Music] now we'll go to the neck and massage with our fingers like this we start at the end of the shoulders and simply drag our fingers up applying a little pressure we'll repeat a couple of times [Music] [Music] next we're going to massage their neck using our fingers this technique will help them relax and stretch their neck [Music] do [Music] now we'll do the same but a little lower in the area where the back meets the neck we're now going to apply a little more pressure let's start on one side massaging the shoulder blade like this using our fingers and we're going to use our thumb starting at the top of the neck we're just going to drag it down like this until we reach the collarbone repeat this technique a couple of times [Music] you can do one side and then the other but you can also do both at the same time if there are contractors you can also stay in that area and just massage that part repeating the massage many times [Music] now we'll go back to massaging one side and then the other lastly we're going to do a technique that uses your forearm you'll begin by sliding your hands until you reach your forearm applying a bit of pressure as you go down and then you open your arms like this now just repeat a couple of times you can use all these different techniques we have taught you today and combine them to your liking [Music] [Music] for this massage we'll be working with the entire body warming the muscles up and relaxing any tension we find along the way we'll go from the feet to the shoulders and then make our way back to the feet remember that the pressure we apply should come from the palm of our hands not the fingers and we must always have a straight and relaxed back when massaging allowing us to apply the pressure with our natural body weights to begin we'll be sitting in between their feet like i am right now and will have one hand on each foot you can apply pressure going from side to side on each foot or by leaning forward and back applying pressure at the same time on both feet i'll be doing it simultaneously now we slowly make our way up like this we don't purposely apply pressure nor do we grab using our fingers we simply allow our bodies to fall onto theirs [Music] you can also massage their glutes as you go to their back but remember to ask them first as some people feel uncomfortable getting their glutes massaged [Music] now that we're going to their back i will place one of my feet up like this and the other knee will be placed on the other side make sure their arms are to their sides and now we're going to massage their back with our hands placed like a butterfly make sure however to leave space in between your hands for the spine as it should not be touched applying pressure to the spine can lead to serious injuries so make sure that you avoid that [Music] we also massage the arms with the same [Music] technique [Music] for now we won't go to the shoulders as our current position isn't effective for massaging them we'll just stick to the upper back as we go down we go back to the position we were first in so we can continue to apply pressure using the tie technique until we are back where we started [Music] this massage flow is usually done a couple of times before getting into a deeper massage we hope you enjoyed this thai massage tutorial and don't forget to subscribe for more videos to come you
