Moonwalk Tutorial in Under a Minute

Steps to Moonwalk

  1. Positioning

    • Turn sideways.
  2. Starting Move

    • Lift your right heel up.
    • Slide your left foot back, keeping it flat.
    • Important: Keep the heel of the left foot down to avoid looking awkward.
  3. Switching Feet

    • Now, switch by sliding the front (right) foot back.
    • Avoid the tendency to moonwalk only in socks or on slippery floors.
    • Ensure you keep your weight on the foot that’s lifted (the right foot) to create the illusion of sliding.
  4. Practice the Switch

    • Pull the back foot, then switch and pull the front foot.
    • Eliminate the pauses between movements to gain fluidity.

Practice Together

  • Count:
    • "Seven, eight" - begin to practice moving backward together.
    • Remember to keep practicing the switch: back, back, back.

Tips for Enhancing the Move

  • Add a push or other movements to make the moonwalk look cooler.
