Struggling to come up with good niche ideas for your faceless YouTube channel? Don't worry, I've got you covered. Hi there, Gareth of Channel Profits here.
In today's video, I'm going to take you through 40 of the best channel ideas in 2023, along with real examples and recommendations. With that said, let's jump into them. The first one is the environmental tech niche.
With global warming and net zero at the front of everybody's minds, people want some good news. and want to know that new tech that can fix these problems are being developed. Tech channels that create videos on environmental projects normally see videos do well, as people share the content out, helping it go viral.
Channels like Undecided with Matt Ferrell, where he discusses new technology projects and the pros and cons of each, is a great opportunity for a faceless YouTube automation channel. Yes, Matt shows his face, but he didn't need to. His channel currently has over 1.2 million subscribers and more than 3 million monthly views, just from 260 videos. Up next we have the movie reviews niche.
It's a classic, but with so many streaming services creating movies of their own, it's still a massively in-demand niche. You just need to make sure you're repurposing content, removing any music, and adding a voiceover. Yes, it may feel like a copyright minefield, But some of the largest and fastest growing channels are in the movie space, and you'll never run out of new content ideas.
Great examples of channels exploding right now are The Critical Drinker and Nerd Erotic. They brought their own humor and personality to the videos, and because of this, they have fast become trusted voices of what's good for many people out there. The Critical Drinker especially has seen his channel balloon to over 1.7 million subscribers this year. Number 3. Science and how things work. Some of the biggest no-face channels are in the science or explainer niche.
Channels like In Search Of or In A Nutshell, don't ask me to pronounce the Dutch or the German names, have been explaining complex concepts with high-quality animated videos for years, covering everything from philosophy to black holes. In A Nutshell currently has over 20 million subscribers and enjoys nearly 24 million monthly views. which I can only dream of one day doing. Next we have Stories. This covers everything from scary stories, made up stories, to stories from Reddit.
The sky's the limit here. Channels like Mr. Nightmare have over 6.2 million subscribers with 11 million monthly views from just 310 videos. Number 5. The History Niche A great evergreen niche that I feel is under tapped is the history space. People will always be searching for videos on history, so they can generate money for years to come.
When done right, channels like Simple History and Weird History with over 4 million subscribers each show just how much demand there is. And the options are endless. History literally covers everything you can imagine from our past, from Hitler to fashion.
Now before we move on, if you would like more in-depth training on building profitable faceless channels and picking the right niche. then I'll put links in the video description to where you can get full step-by-step beginner-friendly training after this video. Number 6. Lifehacks Who doesn't like a good lifehack video?
I know I do. And channels like MrHack with over 3.3 million subscribers show that I'm not the only one. Although production may be a little more complicated with filming, they will still be faceless and don't require sound, so they could be universal in every language.
Number 7. 3. Celebrity News The Johnny Depp trial showed that we still love celebrity news and gossip. Many channels popped up from that one topic and channels like That Umbrella Guy still talk about the trial and even now are getting 1.5 million monthly views. Next we have one that everybody loves due to its high CPMs, the finance and business niche.
This is very competitive so the quality of your videos needs to be high. But when done right, your channel can make some serious money. Take Magnets Media.
They've grown to nearly 1 million subscribers this year and get around 3.5 million monthly views. They create mini-documentary-style videos that are really high quality. Because of this, they only need to upload once per week.
This is not a channel that AI tools could create, but if you have the budget, it's a great option and style of content. Number 9. Relationships and Psychology This covers everything from dating, relationship tips and psychology for both men and women. Social Psychology Masters is a good example of a general channel that has grown to nearly 600,000 subscribers in the last year.
So the views on their videos have dipped recently with increased competition. So if you want to do this niche, I recommend going more targeted as these are the types of channels that are currently doing better. Number 10. Weight Loss I think for obvious reasons, weight loss channels are always going to be a safe bet, and one that carries many different ways to monetize your views.
Bodyhub is a great example of a faceless channel that just keeps on going, with over 1.2 million subscribers and nearly 4 million monthly views. The next niche, fitness, is similar but focuses more on workouts. Roberta's Gym is a great example of a fitness app that leveraged the power of YouTube. They have over 5 million subscribers and nearly 15 million monthly views, which tells me people keep coming back to the channel.
The videos are just workouts generated from their app. I'm willing to bet that they are currently making more money from this channel than they are from paying customers using the app itself. Number 12. Natural Health Remedies Continuing with the health theme, natural health remedies are another great one. We've all seen videos suggesting we drink or eat something every day because it's good for us. Bestie is a prime example of a channel doing well here.
With over 4.5 million subscribers and millions of monthly views, they have mastered the art of viral health videos. Number 13. Drones Not one you would think of if you weren't into drones. but it's a massive niche that is growing all of the time.
The issue would be the angle that you take if you want to keep it faceless. But drone footage or reviews of drones could be an option. Next, we have a niche I love, and that's the made simple or things explained niche.
This is where you explain complicated things in simple terms. Think of the 4 Dummies book series, and you already know that there is demand for this. Oversimplified is a great example of an animated channel that is doing this. They have over 7.5 million subscribers and get 14 million monthly views. They simplify historic events and wars throughout history.
But you could do the same in so many different areas of life. Number 15. Food recipes We all need recipes and ideas for cooking. Sure, doing it without filming the cooking itself would be difficult, but I've seen channels make it work with just stock footage. Number 16. The travel niche This is one that many people love and one that when done well can bring in some serious money. Turopia is a great example of this, with nearly 1.2 million subscribers and 3.5 million monthly views.
17. Economic News With a US trade war with China and a struggling post-COVID global economy, economic channels are doing very well right now. The only issue is that like other news channels, the content will be tapping into trending traffic and not evergreen. So you would have to post regular content in order to keep getting views. Number 18. Cryptocurrency Although crypto is currently in a dip, it's still a great option for faceless channels. Take Whiteboard Crypto, for example.
They grew to nearly 1 million subscribers in just over 1.5 years. And although they aren't really posting anymore, they still get hundreds of thousands of high CPM views each and every month. Number 19. Tech Reviews Not one of my personal favorites or one I recommend for beginners, but tech reviews, especially strange and unique tech, can do very well.
And they often have high CPMs. Number 20. Motivation and Quotes You need to be careful of not using other people's voices for this content, but motivational videos or quote channels do very well. Take the simple channel called Quotes that has nearly 1 million subscribers from just 71 videos and over 3 million monthly views.
Number 21. Pets There are endless options here. Dogs, cats, breeds, training, or even funny videos. Pets are a massive niche on YouTube, and Pets Island is a great example of a funny compilation channel with over 500,000 subscribers.
and 7 million monthly views. Now you do need to find ways to repurpose this content in the edit, or even react to the content to make it original, otherwise you may not get monetized down the line. YouTube wants non-repetitive or reused content. 22. Personal Development This could be for men, women, or just in general. I love the personal development niche, and channels like Improvement Pill or Better Than Yesterday are killing it right now.
Take Improvement Pill with 3.3 million subscribers and over 2.5 million monthly views. views. Not bad for a channel that only uploads a couple of times per month. 23. Survivalist This is a great niche and one that is very popular, with videos on camping, catch and cook, fishing and more.
A simple idea could be to review products from Amazon that you can then link to in the video description. This would generate additional affiliate income and perhaps allow you to create an online shop one day. Survival equipment are some of the best-selling dropshipping products out there. Next up is the entrepreneur niche.
Everybody wants to be an entrepreneur these days, so demand has never been higher. Channels like Alex Homose's have exploded in recent months. And although these channels are often not faceless, I feel channels could easily share the same information without actually being in the videos. Number 25. Personal Finance With the rise of inflation and talk of a recession, personal finance and money channels in general have never been more popular, and they are especially popular with creators due to their high CPMs.
One channel I really like is called How Money Works. This channel is growing quickly, with over 700,000 subscribers and 4 million monthly views, but there are many other channels out there covering everything from making money to saving more of it. Number 26. Tarot Card Readings or Astrology Now, I didn't realize just how big this niche was until one of my clients started a channel in it. Tarot and astrology are massive niches.
Take the Tarot Queen. She just films her hands doing readings with a voiceover, and her channel has nearly half a million subscribers and around 700,000 monthly views. Astrology channels with monthly predictions and sign breakdowns also have similar sizes of channels. Number 27. Netflix viewing guides There are so many streaming services these days and to be honest, it's hard to keep up.
Because of this, I've seen a rise in channels that tell you what's new each month or recommend movies. Take Flick Connection, a channel with over 400,000 subscribers and 2 million monthly views. They offer a variety of guides for Netflix, HBO, Prime and more. I think there is definitely a gap for more great channels like this in the niche.
Next up we have Book Summaries. This is a great one, and when done right you can have massive evergreen flows of views. Everyone wants things faster these days, so quality book summary channels like Escaping Ordinary do very well. This channel has nearly 1 million subscribers and 1.2 million monthly views from just 17 videos. Yes, you heard right, 17 videos.
which shows it's not always about quantity on YouTube. Number 29. AI Updates This for me is a big one right now. I'm seeing channels both faceless and branded growing fast.
AI is the new crypto when it comes to trending growth on YouTube. Take All About AI for example. It's a branded channel, but it has grown to over 100,000 subscribers and nearly a million monthly views in just one year. So if you have interest in all things AI, then this is the niche to jump into. 30. Space One I've never really gotten into personally but have seen people get great results in is the space niche.
Take Simply Space with over 780,000 subscribers and 2 million in monthly views. This channel is one of many that are dominating with faceless channels in the space niche right now. 31. Gaming Yes, gaming channels are still a thing, a very big thing in fact.
Channels like Wattles have nearly 2 million subscribers and generate close to 7 million monthly views from just Minecraft videos. So gaming channels aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Number 32. Religion This is one that many people don't think of or avoid just like politics. But for obvious reasons, it's a massive niche on YouTube with passionate and engaged subscribers. For example, take Treasured Christ.
This is a channel with over 650,000 subscribers and over 21 million monthly views, which shows how engaged those subscribers really are. You just need to make sure you follow YouTube community rules and don't get too controversial, not if you want to make money here. Number 33. Restaurants and City Guides Just like travel, but on a local level, these channels can do very well. The only issue is how you make the videos.
You may struggle to get enough footage if you aren't there personally, but you could freelance that work to a local at a fraction of the cost of traveling there yourself. Take Honest Guide. This is It's a branded channel that goes in-depth into cities.
It has over 1.2 million subscribers and 5 million monthly views. Needless to say, these guys are nailing it when it comes to city guides. Number 34. Quizzes and Riddles This is a new one to me, but on researching, it turns out it's a pretty big niche. Take a look at 7 Second Riddles.
They have over 4 million subscribers and close to 1.5 million monthly views. These types of videos also seem to drive engagement given that they are result-driven videos. Number 35. Affirmations Though not as big as it used to be, affirmations and law of attraction is still a large niche.
People like to listen to affirmations on repeat, so subscribers keep coming back for more. Take Unlimited You. This channel has over 270,000 subscribers and nearly 400,000 monthly views. which doesn't sound like much until you realize that they create 10-12 hour long lives that people watch during and afterwards. Ads will be shown all the way through these, which means they will be making much more than shorter videos do.
Number 36. Luxury lifestyle This is a massively popular niche and one with really high CPMs. The luxury market is a growing space online, and channels like Alux have been tapping into this for years. They have over 4.3 million subscribers and 4 million monthly views.
Although a great niche, I've seen competition dilute some of the views for many of these channels. So if you plan to create this type of channel, don't just copy other people, come up with your own angle and try to stand out. Number 37. Top 10 We all love top 10 channels, be it fun, tech, or animals. Top 10 videos are all over YouTube. and they are one of the easiest channels to create content for.
Take Top 10 Most Amazing. They have nearly 8 million subscribers and generate close to 9 million monthly views. So if you pick the right angle or topic, then Top 10 video channels can still work very well. Number 38. Students and Learning This is one that I stumbled across recently when doing research on buying a new iPad. It turns out the student niche is massive.
And there are channels teaching everything from note-taking to buying guides tailored for students. Take, for example, Cajun Koi Academy. Although a branded channel, it's focused around note-taking and productivity tips for students. I think it's an idea that could easily be translated into a new faceless channel. 39. Sports Channels These types of channels are a great way to ensure you have high CPMs as you can target the sports in the country you want to be getting views in.
For example,... basketball views would be mostly in America. Now it's worth mentioning that most channel topics will be trending and not evergreen, so you will have to keep creating content, but videos do get high volume.
Take for example the Asylum. It has over 300,000 subscribers and gets over 37 million monthly views, which is absolutely insane. It's worth noting that they show highlights of games and don't add voiceovers to them. which could mean they risk not being monetized in future. So that's something to be aware of if you plan to create a sports channel.
Last but not least, we have language channels. I've seen a rise in faceless channels that give short, bite-sized tips on how to pronunciate words or sentences. Take EngFluent for example, a channel with nearly a million subscribers and even though they haven't uploaded in six months, they are still getting close to 400,000 monthly views.
You could just replicate short videos that branded channels are doing and creating content would be quick and easy.
