Welcome to the video lecture series of digital image processing. Today I am going to discuss multiple choice questions based on introduction to digital image processing. The basics about the image processing. Let us proceed. First question is which of the following image processing technique Is fast, precise and flexible?
So digital image processing is the technique which is fast, precise and flexible. This is the correct answer. Second question is let us consider an image be a function of AXY. So here what A represents?
A represents the amplitude of the image. X and Y are the spatial coordinates and A of XY represents the intensity level that is the amplitude. So this is the correct answer.
Question number 3 is define pixel. What do you understand by pixel? So pixel is the element used to represent digital image. This A must be the correct answer. Let us check.
This is actually the correct one. Question number 4 is the range of values which has spanned by the grayscale is known as what is that particular range? That is known as the dynamic range which is being spanned over the grayscale. This is correct as well.
Question number 5 is, the number of grey values are integer power of 2. You must be remembering this. So, B is the correct option. Question number six is which is the first and foremost step in image processing?
What is the first step? The first step is the image acquisition because until unless you are not having any image then how to process it and what to process? It means seize the correct option.
Question number 7 is what is the typical size comparable in quality of monochromatic television image? So its size is 512 x 512. You must be remembering this. Question number eight is identify the next step in image processing after compression.
After compression, what is the next step? You must have learned about as the first step is the image acquisition, image acquisition. The second is image enhancement.
So as well as you are moving, you must be remembering each and every step. So after compression, the next step is the morphological processing. This is the correct answer as well.
You must remember all these steps in a sequential manner. Question number 9 is identify the correct step being performed before color image processing. Means what is the previous step? What is the previous step before the color image processing? So it's the image restoration.
Option C must be the correct one. Let us check. Yes, this is the correct answer.
Moving ahead. Next question is total number of steps involved in image processing. As I have told you, you must remember each and every step.
So there are total 10 steps in the case of the image processing. It means A is the correct option. Question 11 is, what is the function of segmentation unit in image processing?
Read all the options carefully which are extracting attributes, reducing storage, image division into smaller regions and powering them. partitioning an image into the constituent parts or objects. So, D is the correct option. The segmentation unit does the partitioning of image into the constituent parts or objects. This is the correct answer.
Question number 12 is process of assigning meaning to a recognized object. What is this particular process? This process is known as interpretation. This is correct. Question number 13 is the resolution of 1024 into 1024 images what?
So how to calculate the resolution? Just you have to multiply this and you will be getting the result which is the option C. Question number 14 is if L is equal to 2 raised to the power k and total number of levels in an image is 8. It means L is 8 and you have to calculate the value of k. So when L is 8 and you know that L is what 2 raised to the power k which is 8 it means k is 3. So option B it is the correct one. Yes.
Next question is, digital images are displayed as discrete set of what? Intensity, resolution, frequency or values. So digital images are displayed as set of intensities.
This is the correct option because you are writing everywhere what? If you are talking about two dimensional image, you are writing f of x, y. x, y is the spatial coordinates and f represents the intensity or the gray level.
An image of size m cross n. What is m? m corresponds to the number of rows and n number of columns. So here because in the question it has been asked what is m so it must be number of rows.
This is the correct answer. Next question is DPI stands for? DPI is the most commonly used term in the case of the image processing and DPI denotes or stands the dots per inch.
B is the correct option. Next question is number of bits required to encode the pixel value is known as? So the number of bits which is required to encode the pixel value is known as bit depth. Correct one. Question number 19 is number of bits required to store an image can be calculated by?
How to calculate it? If the image is of size m cross n, then these many bits are required into the number of bits per level, which is the k. So it would be m into n into k. This is correct as well. Question number 20 is which is a color attribute that describes a pure color?
There are four options have been given. So which is which describes the pure color? Saturation, hue, brightness or intensity.
So hue is an attribute which describes the purity of a color. Question number 21, MRI in imaging stands for what? MRI is a commonly used term you use to talk in your daily life as well. So MRI stands for magnetic resonance imaging. A is the correct option.
Question number 22, image sensors produce what? Digital signal, voltage waveform, current waveform or video waveform. So image sensors produce voltage waveform. Correct answer. Next question is, Black and white pixels of an image are represented in a matrix as Black is being represented by 0 and white is being represented by 1. So option D is the correct one.
Question number 24 is computer generated images are known as. What is the name of that particular image which is generated from the computer? Whether it is a true color, synthetic, vector or range.
So synthetic images are used to generate from the computers. While natural images are those which can be clicked directly which are available in the nature. This is the correct option.
Question number 25. Intensity level in 8-bit image. How many intensity levels are there? So number of intensity levels or number of levels can be represented by 2 raised to the power 8 in case of 8-bit images.
So it would be total 256. Option C is the correct one. Digitizing an image is required. The four options are sampling, quantization, sampling and quantization and last is modulation and demodulation.
So in the case of image processing digitization is being done across two planes. If the digitization is being done along the coordinates it is known as the sampling. If it is being done along the amplitude it is known as the quantization.
It means option C sampling and quantization is the correct one. Question number 27 is for a continuous image fxy sampling is defined as as I have told you in the previous question there are two things which is being required for the digitization of the image. So when image is digitized along the coordinate plane it is known as sampling. Option A is the correct one.
Next question, for a continuous image fxy quantization is defined as? So quantization is being performed along the amplitude value. So the digitizing the amplitude value is known as quantization means option B is the correct one. Next question is the quality of digital image is well determined by? What are the part that particular factor which defines or denotes the quality of digital image?
Options are number of samples discrete gray levels both the options and none of the above So the quality is being determined by number of samples as well as the gray levels It means option C is the correct one Next question is if image which is being given as f is sampled so that the result has m rows and n columns means now it is being converted into the digital image of size m x n and if the value of the coordinate at the origin which is at 0,0 Then the notation 0 1 signifies what? Notation 0 1 signifies the next adjacent component. It means it is the second sample along the first row. Option A. This is correct as well.
Question number 31 is in a digital image of M rows and N columns. Here L discrete gray levels are available. Calculate the bit required to store a digital image for C.
size where m is equal to n is equal to 32 and l is what 16. So how many bits are required? It means m cross n cross k and k is what? How to calculate it?
You know the relationship between l and k is l is 2 raised to the power k. m is 32 n is 32. And L is given which is 16. It means K will be 4. Multiply these three. You will be getting the value as 4096. Means the option B. Next question.
Question number 32. Which gives a measure to the degree of. Pure color is diluted by white light. What is that particular term?
How to define it? That is known as the saturation. Correct one? Next question, take the step which deals with tools for extracting image components and these image components are required in the representation and description of shape. What is that particular step of the image processing?
Options are segmentation, representation and description, enhancement and morphological processing. So morphological image processing is actually a process which deals with tool for extracting image components. D is the correct option.
Question number 34. In image processing, which step is responsible for assigning a label to an object based on its descriptors? So object recognition is the process. This is correct as well.
Question number 35 is number of rows in digital image is known as? You have heard the term of the resolution and number of rows in digital image is known as vertical resolution. So option A is the correct one.
If we were talking about number of columns means that would be the horizontal resolution. But here it's related to the rows. So option A is the correct one. Next question, what type of image where colors are added artificially? What do you say?
What is the term being used to those images where colors are added artificially? So that is the pseudo colors images. They are not natural in the image.
They are not consisting true colors. So pseudo colors are those images where colors have been added artificially. This is the correct answer. Question number 37. How many bits are required in true color image to represent all the colors?
In case of true color image to represent all the colors, 24 bits are required commonly. And this is the correct answer. Next and last question. What is the storage requirement of 1024 x 1024 binary image?
You can calculate it directly. The image is given as 1024 x 1024 and it is also being given that it is a binary image. Means binary image is required one bit to store the particular value. Just simplify it.
You will be getting the value as 1048. 5, 7, 6. Now let us check out of these four options it matches with A. It means A is the correct answer. Thank you so much.
