If you're someone who uses the vacuum frequently for short bursts of time, then a cordless vacuum is ideal for you due to its convenience. If you do deep clean occasionally for a longer period of time, then a corded vacuum cleaner is ideal for you as it has better suction power and can run longer. I'll help you identify the best of both in this video and we'll start with cordless vacuum cleaners followed by the vacuum cleaners with cords.
Jump to the right sections from the timestamps below. In cordless vacuums, there are three main segments. The cheapest segment of cordless vacuum cleaners under Rs 10,000 are useful for light dusting and vacuuming as they generally have lower suction power of 10 kPa or lower.
They have a lower run time of 30 minutes or lower and generally have only the floor, crevice and multipurpose brush but do not have an upholstery brush. There are two exceptions to this, the ilife G80 and the Agaro Sapphire which will be part of my recommendations. I would not recommend these vacuum cleaners if cleaning of sofas or carpets are your main requirements. The second segment between 10 and 20,000 rupees have higher run times between 30 minutes and 60 minutes.
Higher suction power. upwards of 20 kPa and mostly include a motorized sofa or upholstery attachment when available. The cordless vacuum cleaners you see on the screen fall under this category.
The last segment which is upwards of Rs. 20,000 have the best run times upwards of 40 minutes to 100 minutes, include a motorized sofa or upholstery attachment and have higher suction powers, generally upwards of 25 kPa. The cordless vacuum cleaners you see on the screen fall under this category. Now that we understand the three main categories, let's understand some other key capabilities.
We briefly spoke about runtime in the different segments but amongst the cordless vacuum cleaners compared, the Agaro Sapphire, Tineco Pure One Air, the Black & Decker have the lowest runtime while Tineco Pure One S12 and the Dream R20 have the best runtime. Some cordless vacuum cleaners that you see on the screen allow for the batteries to be swapped to extend the runtime. These batteries have to be purchased separately however.
It is a good option if you would like to use the vacuum cleaner for longer periods of time in a single session. The attachments in a vacuum cleaner are key for determining what you can do with the vacuum cleaner. All cordless vacuum cleaners include the floor, crevice or combination or multi-purpose attachments.
But only the vacuum cleaners that you see on the screen include the upholstery attachment. All cordless vacuums come with a canister ranging from 200 ml to 1.5 liters. Smaller size implies it needs to be emptied and cleaned more often. Amongst the cordless vacuum cleaners compared, the ilife H11, the Tineco Pure One Air, the Bosch Unlimited 7 Pro Animal and Electrolux have the smallest bin sizes.
A few cordless vacuum cleaners include an on-device display that shows you the suction power used, battery capacity left and in some cases like the Dyson, the amount and size of impurities collected. All of these are nice to have features. The Tineco Pure One S12 is the only one that has the ability to connect to an app to get real-time performance monitoring, to get reminders and cleaning reports and more. Warranty for all cordless vacuum cleaners is in general one year. With the exception of Tesora, Laresar, Eufy and Dyson giving a 2-year warranty.
Dyson of course has the best service network in the country. Now let's get to my recommendations for the best cordless vacuum cleaners in each of the segments that we discussed now that we understand how to select the best cordless vacuum. In the low cost or budget segment under 10,000 rupees, I have two recommendations for you.
The first is the Agaro Sapphire that you see on the screen. At a really attractive price of about Rs 5,500, this cordless vacuum gives a good suction power of 15 kPa, is lightweight and also includes a non-motorized sofa or upholstery attachment. The only con is that it has a runtime of only 26 minutes. It's good for short bursts of cleaning, like cleaning your car. My second recommendation in this budget is the iLife G80.
It gives the best suction power of 22 kPa at this budget, a good runtime of 45 minutes, a large size bin of 650 ml and also has LED lights in the floor attachment for cleaning. The only con is that it does not have a separate sofa or upholstery attachment. Some people claim you can use the multipurpose attachment for sofa cleaning but I don't find that very useful. So this is a good option if your cleaning needs include everything but sofa or mattress cleaning.
In the mid segment between 10 to 20,000 in my opinion you should opt for a cordless vacuum that does include an upholstery or sofa attachment. With that that background, I only have one brand recommendation for you. The Agaro Supreme available at 15,000 has a good 60-minute runtime, a 25,000 kPa suction power and includes all attachments including the motorized sofa or upholstery attachment.
Agaro also has another variant, Agaro Imperial around the 19,000 price point with the key difference being a slightly better suction power of 28,000 kPa and it also has a digital display on the device. Now coming to the premium segment and if you are looking for a Dyson equivalent at a lower price, then I have two recommendations for you. The first is the Agaro Supreme. It is a premium segment and it First is the Tineco Pure One S12 at a price of around Rs 30,000, half of what the latest variant of a Dyson costs.
This gives a great runtime of 100 minutes, includes all the attachments including floor, carpet, sofa, upholstery, crevice and combination tools and a digital display on the device. It also helps to connect the cordless vacuum to a mobile app which helps to get real-time performance monitoring, reminders, cleaning reports and so on. My second recommendation is the Dream R20.
At a higher price point, it gives almost similar capabilities as the Tineco with a better suction power of 27kPa. It does not include the smart home capability however. Dyson of course comes with the widest range of attachments and has one of the best service networks. Specifically for India, I believe they have extended the life of their older model, the Dyson V8, which also gives a decent runtime of 40 minutes, if Dyson is a preference for you. Now let's talk about vacuum cleaners with cords.
As a recap, if you are someone who likes to do deep cleaning for hours on a single day, then a corded vacuum cleaner is ideal for you as it gives unlimited runtime. Of course, it is limited by the wattage and heating of the device. Vacuum cleaners with cords come in the range of 3000 to almost 60,000.
The main difference being the wattage, suction power, type of bin that it uses, and the attachments provided. Wattage is one of the key aspects to consider in a corded vacuum. If you buy a vacuum cleaner with a lower wattage, the machine will get heated up if you use it for longer periods of time. 1400 watts and above is recommended, higher is better.
But remember, there is a correlation between the wattage and the noise the vacuum cleaner makes. Higher the wattage, higher is the noise as well. Amongst the vacuum cleaners compared, almost all vacuum cleaners under 5000 except the Inalsa, Aristo and GEEX co-owner A10 have a wattage under 1400. The next key aspect to consider is the suction power. Higher the suction power, greater is the cleaning efficiency.
In corded vacuum cleaners, you should consider at least a 20,000 kPa suction power. Amongst the models compared, the Inalsa Spruce, Eureka Foap Fast Clean & Sure, Black & Decker VM1200 have suction powers lower than 20kPa. Older generation and lower cost vacuum cleaners generally use reusable bags.
Newer generation vacuum cleaners are bagless. I highly recommend going with a bagless model for convenience of use and cleaning. The size of the bag or the canister determines how often you need to empty the bag for cleaning. Higher is better. The sizes vary from 1L to 4L, with American Micronic, Agaro Empire, Panasonic and Electrolux having the largest sized bags or canisters.
Type of attachments and usage is another aspect. There are only two vacuum cleaners compared that do include a blower, the Inalsa Spruce and the Eureka! Fob Supreme.
A number of vacuum cleaners compared do not include the upholstery attachment. They recommend using the combination tool for cleaning sofas and mattresses, which is quite cumbersome in my opinion. Floor and crevice or multi-purpose attachments are available in all vacuum cleaners compared. So no differentiation there.
The last key consideration is the cord length. Many users complain that brands do not provide adequate length to move the product around. Yes, you can consider using an extension cord, but that should not be the default option. In my opinion, at least 5-meter length should be provided. Amongst the vacuum cleaners compared, the Eureka Forbes Fast Clean and Panasonic have the shortest length and Electrolux and Geeks Corner have the longest length.
Warranty in general is 1 year with Inalsa, American Micronic, Panasonic, Philips, Electrolux giving you a 2-year warranty. Let's get to my recommendation for the best vacuum cleaners with cord based on the shortlisting factors that we discussed so far. If you have carpets or pets or you need the most powerful vacuum cleaner for deep cleaning, my top recommendation is the same as last year, the Philips PowerPro.
It has the best suction power, a good wattage of 1900 watts and a 6m cord length and includes the upholstery attachment, all necessary capabilities in a vacuum cleaner with cord. It does not include a blower however. Its rotating turbo brush is designed for optimal cleaning of tear and fluff. opening up carpet fibers for a deeper clean. Overall, this is the best option for a vacuum cleaner with cord that can be used for deep cleaning in your house.
If you would like a vacuum cleaner with blower, then my recommendation is the Eureka Foam Supreme. It has a good wattage of 1500W and a suction power of 21.5kPa. It has one of the largest canister sizes of 4L and does include a blower.
But it does not, however, include the upholstery attachment, which is a miss in my opinion. If you would prefer that, then go for the Inalsa Spruce model. While it has a lower wattage and suction power than I would like in a vacuum cleaner with cord, it does include the upholstery attachment as well as the blower. If you would like a vacuum cleaner on a budget, then I would recommend one of these two options.
At a budget below Rs.7000, The Eureka 4 SuperVac is the best option with 1600W, 21kPa suction and all the necessary attachments that we spoke about so far. Consider liking this video and subscribing to the channel. It's free for you but immensely beneficial for the channel.
