Blender Bedroom Modeling Tutorial

Overview

Scene Navigation

  • Orbit View: Left mouse button
  • Pan Scene: Hand icon

Starting the Project

  1. Delete Default Objects:
    • Select all with A and press X to delete.
  2. Add Floor Plane:
    • Press Shift + A > Mesh > Plane.
    • Modifiers:
      • Add Solidify Modifier (increase thickness)
      • Add Bevel Modifier (reduce sharpness).

Creating Wooden Planks

  • Duplicate plane: Shift + D, right-click to cancel movement.
  • Enter Edit Mode: Tab
  • Select all (A), scale down (S, X).
  • Move up (G, C), adjust thickness and bevel.
  • Array Modifier:
    • Use to create multiple planks with gaps.

Wall Creation

  1. Add Wall:
    • Add a cube, enter Edit Mode, and delete faces to hollow it out.
    • Apply Solidify Modifier (ensure even thickness).
  2. Add Baseboard:
    • Apply modifier, add loop cut, bevel.
  3. Photo Frames:
    • Duplicate side face, scale down, create frame shape.

Creating the Bed

  1. Bed Foundation:
    • Add a plane, move and scale down, extrude down.
    • Add a bevel modifier.
  2. Footboard:
    • Duplicate and adjust size using edit tools.
  3. Mirror Modifier:
    • Use for symmetry.
  4. Creating Legs:
    • Add a plane, extrude, and bevel for leg shape.
    • Duplicate and mirror.
  5. Mattress and Blanket:
    • Duplicate bed foundation, scale, and extrude faces for blanket.

Adding Furniture

  1. Table Near Bed:
    • Add a plane, extrude for height, create tabletop shape.
    • Add drawers using loop cuts and extrusion.
  2. Table Lamp:
    • Add UV sphere, extrude and shape base.
  3. Decorations on Shelf:
    • Add potted plant and books.
    • Duplicate and scale as needed.

Final Touches

  1. Add a Rug:
    • Add a plane, scale and extrude.
  2. Camera Setup:
    • Align active camera to view, adjust settings.
  3. Lighting:
    • Add area light, adjust power and size, duplicate for more light.
  4. Materials:
    • Add colors to walls and objects.
  5. Rendering Settings:
    • Change to Cycles render engine, adjust color management settings.
    • Render image and save.

Saving Work

  • Save project using File > Save As.
