Overview of Odoo Maintenance Operations

Welcome to Odoo Maintenance, the app that helps keep your equipment in order so manufacturing operations run smoothly. Most facility managers would agree, maintenance matters. Maintaining equipment is crucial to keeping a company running efficiently. If it's not managed correctly, machines and tools break down and malfunction. This can lead to down times, production stops, and emergency repair costs. Let's face it, nobody wants to waste money on things that could have been avoided. And now with Odoo Maintenance, nobody has to. Think of Odoo Maintenance as a health care plan for equipment. One that helps to reduce waste, boost production, and run efficient continuous manufacturing all day long. Not clicking yet? That's okay! Just ask Barcadia, the hottest Barcade in town, serving food and drinks to customers and providing a fun variety of old-school arcade games to play. Let's check out Barcadia's maintenance dashboard. Here, we can see each of our maintenance teams and check out what they're up to. who's working on what, what their calendars look like, and everything we need to know about maintenance requests currently in progress. I can't tell you how many times we've had to fix a pinball machine after someone fails to top the high score. Hmm. It looks like our internal maintenance team has hit a roadblock with this maintenance request. Seems like a toughie. It might be time to call up some outside help and see if they have better luck. We'll want to reassign this request, but I'm not sure it would fit any of our current teams. I know. Let's create a brand new team from scratch. We'll call this team subcontractors to let people know that this is where anything that we can't take care of ourselves should go. No shame in calling the experts. And, voila! One more friendly face on our dashboard. How easy was that? Now, let's go ahead and reassign that request. Weird. The equipment in this request doesn't seem to be in the right category. Let's fix that right now. Looks like we need a fitting category for this machine. Let's go ahead and create a new one. And, done! Here's a list of all of our equipment. We have lots of stuff we need to keep track of, so why don't we group by category? There it is. We can even see the one request underway for this machine right now. We'll change the category, and while we're at it, we'll change the maintenance settings for this machine. We don't want to have to call a repairman every time one of our patrons decides that this machine would work a whole lot better with an order of nachos all over it. So let's go ahead and schedule preventative maintenance on this machine at a frequency of, let's say, 14 days. Two weeks ought to do it. For maintenance duration, let's say we want our team to spend at least half an hour checking that everything works all right. Perfect! We could also add other product information here, like the model or serial number, warranty info, or whatever else we think is important. And what's really cool? Once we finish up corrective maintenance, Odoo will automatically calculate our mean time between failure, or MTBF. That way, we'll know how often this machine needs to be worked on to avoid breaking. When we have a busy night like we did last weekend, we just know there will be more than one maintenance request we have to submit. And thanks to a spilled drink, one of our machines needs some serious TLC. Lucky for us, creating a new request is so simple. Let's see how fast we can do it. We'll name our request and pick ourselves as the creator, choose the right equipment and category, write a short description, and set a high priority for this since we don't want to let it sit. And finally, let's choose our responsible team and technician. Done! Odoo Maintenance makes it seriously easy to collaborate too. Remember that request we just created? Check it out! The technician and team I just assigned it to is already on the job. Talk about efficient. Why don't we check our maintenance calendar to see what else our people are working on? Whoa! We've got lots to keep us busy until the next time we're packed to the brim. Good thing Odoo is still working. We've got this overview of every request for every team. Hmm, looks like our technicians can't work on that other request with the new one taking priority. So let's reschedule it. A simple click and drag is all it takes. Okay, we know that Odoo maintenance works great on the back end. But what about in the trenches for the people getting their hands dirty? Let's see. Let's walk a mile in the shoes of the manufacturer for a moment. Here's what they'll see on their tablet. Looks like we're assembling an air hockey table. What a great addition to the barcade. People will love it. Let's complete this step and the next one. Uh-oh. Pause. One of our tools is broken. Lucky for us, we can create a new maintenance request right from here and get it fixed. And when it's repaired and good to go, we'll know. No guesswork here. When all is said and done, who doesn't want to see the numbers? We can check how efficiently our work centers are running. and can see reporting on everything under the sun. And if it ain't up to our standards, we can add new equipment to our work centers as fast as you can say, hey, it's already done. Odoo Maintenance also integrates with the full suite of manufacturing resource planning apps, such as Product Lifecycle Management, or PLM, to create and track engineering changes to products over time, the Quality app for quality control over everything, and everything in between. With Odoo Maintenance, you'll never be behind. You'll have full control over your warehouse, office, and yes, even a bar cave. Odoo Maintenance. Because a well-oiled machine deserves, well, a well-oiled machine.
