If Clauses

• Definisi: Kalimat pengandaian.
• Hubungan dengan Conditional Sentences: If clauses adalah klausa yang membentuk conditional sentence.

5 Fungsi If Clauses

1. If Clause + Imperative

   • Digunakan untuk memberi perintah.
   • Contoh: "If you are, we are going to explore the country by public transportation by a Korea tourist pass."

2. If Clause + Suggestion

   • Digunakan untuk memberi saran.
   • Contoh: "If you visit..."

3. If Clause + General Truth

   • Menyatakan fakta umum.
   • Contoh: "If you don't bring any beverage during your tour, you will be thirsty."

4. If Clause + Reminder

   • Memberikan peringatan tentang risiko.
   • Contoh: "If you would like to visit a tourist attraction, you must prepare your stamina."

5. If Clause + Dream or Wish

   • Menyatakan impian atau harapan.
   • Contoh: "If you have spare money, you can buy delicious chocolate as souvenirs."

Dua Fungsi Sering Digunakan

1. If Clause + Imperative
   • Contoh: "If you have time, call me soon."
   • Pola: If + Simple Present + Verb 1.
2. If Clause + Suggestion
   • Contoh: "If you like watching a leather puppet show, why don't you go to town square tonight?"
   • Pola: If + Simple Present + Why Don't + Subject + Verb 1.

Latihan

• Contoh 1: "If you meet Lee Min Ho, why don't you take a photo with him?"
  • Menggunakan suggestion.
• Contoh 2: "If you want to get the highest score, you have to study hard."
  • Menggunakan obligation.
• Contoh 3: "If you have enough time, tour to kota tua Jakarta."
  • Menggunakan obligation.

If Conditional

• Terdapat 3 tipe if conditional.

Tipe 1

• Penggunaan: Mengandaikan sesuatu yang mungkin terjadi di masa depan.
• Pola: If Close (If + Simple Present) + Main Close (Subject + Will + Verb 1).
• Contoh:
  • "If it rains, I will stay at home."

Tipe 2

• Penggunaan: Mengungkapkan sesuatu yang tidak mungkin terjadi atau bertentangan dengan kenyataan.
• Pola: If Close (If + Simple Past) + Main Close (Subject + Would + Verb 1).
• Contoh:
  • "If I had time, I would go with you."

Tipe 3

• Penggunaan: Situasi yang tidak terjadi di masa lalu.
• Pola: If Close (If + Past Perfect) + Main Close (Subject + Would + Have + Verb 3).
• Contoh:
  • "If I had known about your problem, I would have offered help."

Latihan If Conditional

1. Contoh 1: "If I always study hard, I ___ the best score."
   • Jawaban: C. Will get.
2. Contoh 2: "If I ___, I would work abroad."
   • Jawaban: D. Had studied.
3. Contoh 3: "If I joined English song competition, I ___."
   • Jawaban: E. Will meet her.

Kesimpulan

• Orang tua Agi menggunakan kalimat if conditional tipe 1 karena memungkinkan terjadi di masa depan.
