Заметки о лекции Артемия Лебедева

Oh.. This fly would land on me, too. Don't worry. What if that's Vladimir Putin? Vladimir Vladimirovich, feel free to fly around. He won't leave me alone. Leave, grandpa. This is a great frame. Would you put it on your thumbnail? You went to the UK recently. I thought you flew here from the UK but I was wrong. I went to Moscow first. What did you do in the UK? I was traveling around the country. As a tourist? Yes. How has your traveling been like in the past 2.5 years? I am traveling every month. I went to France, Spain, and Italy recently. I'm visiting a new country every month. This time I went to the UK. Artemy Lebedev 49 years old, a designer, a blogger, a traveler Born in Moscow Has anything changed lately? In the world? About your traveling. Nothing has changed. I'm still traveling. Has it become more complicated? Or easier? Well, now the flights connect through Istanbul or sometimes trough Belgrade.. I have to spend three or four extra hours every time I travel. It's not as bad as it was during the pandemic. The pandemic proved us that the whole world can go fucking nuts. I'm no longer surprised by anything. I'm used to it now. You would use private jets to travel during the pandemic. I would fly to the UK, too. You would fly to the UK on a private jet and then you would get on a plane to Cote d'Azur. Luckily, corruption still exists everywhere in the world. How much does a private jet cost? It cost us about five grand per person. Is there an app for purchasing such tickets? It is similar to ridesharing. Like Uber in Cairo, when you're sharing your taxi with someone else. There are fourteen seats on a private jet. The passengers don't know each other but they all need to get to Cote d'Azur. You're buying a ticket similarly to a regular flight. So you are flying with some random people. Absolutely. Five thousand Euro one way? Yes. Can you buy such a ticket today? Of course, I can. I don't think you can fly directly from Moscow. Jets are still a thing. I'm not a big fan of jets. I don't think Russians are allowed to fly in a jet now. If I'm not mistaken. This was one of the first bans that happened. They banned Russians from owning jets and flying in jets even if they had other citizenships. This is not true. Morgenstern is flying in a jet, isn't he? It's not true. This is what the rules were. What the rules were or what you heard they were? I know people who weren't allowed to use their jets. This doesn't mean that all Russians were banned. Well, I can't speak for everyone. Moving to Spain for a couple of minutes Spain is still one of the most hospitable EU countries towards Russians. Last year Spain issued over 66 thousand visas for Russians. There were over 2700 real estate purchases registered involving Russians. If you are planning to move to Spain or to invest in a strong economy, Estate Barcelona is willing to help you. This agency would help you solve two main problems: where to live and how to make money. If you are planning to move to Barcelona, Estate Barcelona offers a wide choice from different city districts. If you are looking for some real estate by the sea, Estate Barcelona would offer you most popular coastal destinations. Costa Brava, Costa del Maresme, Costa Dorada, and Costa del Garraf. Estate Barcelona also offers commercial real estate in Madrid and Barcelona. The average ROI of these objects would be equal to 5-6% a year. The price of your real estate would continuously grow for up to 10% a year. You will also be able to use credit instruments to increase profitability by 3-4%. On average your ROI will be equal to 15% a year. Most of these commercial objects are already leased by a running business. You are buying some real estate that will be generating rent revenues for you. All you have to do is to pay taxes. Statistically, most of the investors aim to get a residence permit. Estate Barcelona would assist you in getting the investor's permit that is granted for purchasing real estate for over 500 thousand Euro. This permit is granted for three years and you don't have to stay in Spain and to become a tax resident. This permit allows the investors to work and to run a business in Spain. Previously we told you that this program would likely be cancelled. If you are willing to get the investor's permit - hurry up. Estate Barcelona won't charge you for getting the residence permit if you buy their real estate. Use this promo-code to get the 100% discount. This promo-code will also get you a one year of real estate management for free. Let's talk about this mansion now. This is Villa Perla, which is located in a huge resort with one of the best golf courses in the country. A swimming pool, a SPA-center, a billiard, a wine store, a four-car garage, high-tech design.. All finishing in made from high-quality materials. This mansion is 25 minutes away from Costa Brava and 10 minutes away from Girona airport. The golf course is located in the backyard. The resort has 24/7 security with private access. This mansion is pricey but some of our viewers would be able to afford it. Find this and many other objects via the link in the description below. Let's go! Back to the conversation Last week Shaman gathered a protest next to the US Embassy after his YouTube channel got banned. Have you seen any pictures from the protest? What do you think about it? This is a regular cringeworthy event. Cringeworthy? I feel like gathering next to any embassy is...not my piece of cake. What do you think of Shaman? He's great. Why? Well, I see all the controversial figures as entertainers. He's got his own project. His goal is to get more attention and to perform. He has to have some skills. He can't be singing like a peacock from the cartoon. He's got to have some skills. People like him for a reason. There is demand for being patriotic..Or for feeling some dignity. For the last thirty years Russia was somewhere in between from sedation to lobotomy. We weren't allowed to open our mouth. Why weren't we allowed to open our mouth? I don't get it. We were standing under water. We would drown. What does it mean? We were drowning. We as a state? The people of Russia. This fly would land on me, too. Don't worry. It's okay. Let it fly. So Shaman.. Shaman managed to meet this demand. As far as I know, he's been trying to build an audience for a while. And then he got lucky when he released Ya Russky (I'm Russian) It turned out that such a simple song resonated with a lot of people. I'm not a fan of his songs. I never listened to his songs on purpose. I listened to his songs once when he got famous. I'm not buying his records. Some people felt like this protest would lead to a ban of YouTube in Russia. You used to say that YouTube would be banned by September 2023. You were wrong. I'm expecting this to happen every September. You think this is happening in September 2024. I do. I guess, they will slow it down. I'm absolutely sure that this needs to be done. How did you feel about your channel getting banned by YouTube? I've come over it. I took a deep breath and said 'Shit happens' I had a million subscribers and my videos would always reach a million views. I was quite big. I could see it coming so I uploaded all of my videos on VK Video. All of my videos are available there. At some point you were quite a private person. I was a blog writer. Our 2017 interview was one of your first video interviews. Do you know how many YouTube appearances you had in the last two years? I don't. Over twenty appearances. If we add videos from your Dzen account, there would be over thirty videos. Is this your strategy to be everywhere? This is a mix. Can you explain? What a frame. Would you put in on the thumbnail? Fuck off. Shall we take a break? No, I'm fine. This is nature. I'm feeling the harmony. Can you think of the comments section now? This fly was here before the interview. I was expecting it to land on me.. And I would then kill it.. It lands on me because I'm a bad person, unlike you. I wouldn't agree with you. What kind of mix? This is a mix: I would come to the channels that have a lot of views. YouTube banned my channel, which was similar to the explosion of the Nord Stream pipeline. This is no different from blowing up the pipeline. They blocked the channel from the consumers. My channel was a highly demanded product. So now you're trying to compensate. When I was about to hit a million subscribers, they banned me. I guess, some senior officers noticed my channel.. Senior officers? Do you think they don't have a CIA department in YouTube? YouTube used to be much more tolerant. We were allowed to have different point of views. So are you claiming that there are CIA officers working for YouTube? Well, they look just like you and me. Do you think that FSB officers are all mean and hairy people? They are regular people who have a job. Nowadays I'm too popular on YouTube. Some people are sick of me. Every other Shorts video has got my face in it. They have a separate department responsible for Shorts. Short videos are competing with TikTok and there is no censorship there. Getting bigger is more important for them now. My Short videos hit ten million views. It makes me happy. Do you have any proof that there are CIA officers on Youtube who ignore YouTube Shorts? This is a pattern that I'm seeing. This is an opinion based.. On the pattern. This is still an opinion. Nobody reports to me on what is going on there.. I stand against the ban of your channel. I feel like nobody should be banned on YouTube. Neither you, not Stas Aikakprosto, or, God forbid, Solovyov. I believe in a competitive market. I agree. I stand against announcing foreign agents. I support you. You read out the letter from Google when your channel got banned. And then you said: Burn in hell! You deleted a channel with a million subscribers. Assholes! Go fuck yourself! Since the beginning of the full-scale war Russian government banned over a hundred media and over ten thousand websites. Is it safe to say that they are assholes, too? I don't know who they banned and what for.. I feel like it's a wrong path. You can't ban everyone. This is done to create more jobs for the government. This is as bad as beating up the students for not wearing masks during the pandemic. It makes no sense. I don't support it. Russian authorities are similar to YouTube then. All authorities are, unfortunately. The world has gone crazy. Europe bans Sputnik and Russia Today, Russia bans BBC and Deutsche Welle. We are competing in bans and this is silly. Why can't you be as straightforward when it comes to Russian authorities? Because YouTube deleted my channel, not them. My channel was ten years old. They deleted all of my videos and the comments. While Russian authorities banned a lot of media.. I don't care about them. You got mad at YouTube because it was you who got banned. Yes, they banned me personally. And this is why you were so rude. I care about myself much more than I care about others. Had they banned you, I would also be worried. Had who banned me? Anyone. What do you mean by a ban? When YouTube deleted my channel they banned me from spreading information. They found my channel dangerous for them. I'm not very comfortable with talking about myself. I don't want to look like a crybaby. Don't you think that being a foreign agent is a ban from working in Russia? No. Can you explain why? I told you what I think about the foreign agent status. What is the difference? Foreign agency is a loss of rights. It is a sanction. I don't support implementing such sanctions against our people. I don't understand why the fuck people like Alexei Pivovarov are declared foreign agents. Pivovarov is the most neutral reporter. He's scared of cursing on his channel. He's a super neutral reporter. Why is he a foreign agent? This means that he can no longer sell ads. He'll be in trouble in banks.. He won't be able to rent a studio.. This sucks. He won't be able to have any creative job in Russia. Isn't this a ban? This is, indeed, a big poop. Isn't this a ban? It's not a ban, it's a loss of rights. Foreign agents can no longer work in Russia. They can, why not? How? If you are a biologist..You can still work in Russia. You can no longer have public performances. And you can no longer work in education. However, the books written by foreign agents are still on sale. They are just labelled now. This is absurd. We have to write that ISIS is banned in Russia every time we mention ISIS. This is absurd. Everyone knows that ISIS is banned. Why would we mention it every time? The same with foreign agents. This is nonsense that has to be cancelled. At some point this would be over. It will happen in five or ten years..It can't last forever. I know the history of our country. Sometimes we are becoming obsessed with some nonsense. And then it becomes clear that this makes no sense. And one day it will be over. In January of 2022 you released the news of a plane crash in Tehran. A Ukrainian plane crashed in Iran.. I remember it well. It was flying from Tehran to Kyiv. You said:'A Ukrainian Boeing crashed and now there's a lot of conspiracy that the plane got taken down' 'This is bullshit. This Boeing was caught on fire five minutes after the take off. It seems like the plane started to fall apart in air' 'This plane got fucked. It just crashed. It seems like these planes are all outdated and they are using non-original parts.' This was one of those rare occasions where I was wrong. I apologized right away. Wait a second. You had a toy plane in your hands that you crashed on the table. I was curious..Had this, God forbid, happened to an Aeroflot plane, would you still do it? This is how I always show the plane crashes. I have a collection of toy planes. There is an amazing website Aviation Herald where they reconstruct all the crashes. I didn't have enough time to check this website. I'm a armchair quarterback. I'm not as smart as it may seem. I kind of understand how planes fly and how they crash. This time my only source of information was the Ukrainian embassy in Iran. They reported that the plane crashed due to a technical malfunction. This was a reliable source for me and made up the rest of the story. A couple of hours later it became clear that the plane was taken down by the terrorists. They killed Iranian students who were flying to Ukraine. This was a brand new plane. I fucked up when I called it a barn. Ukrainian airlines used to have really old planes. And then they bought some new planes. This particular plane was six months old. I apologized for this terrible mess. I didn't expect Khodorkovsky to call me a Kremlin propagandist. This was the first time when he noticed me. I was very surprised. We can all have some theories on why the plane crashed.. What does this have to do with propaganda? I don't care what Khodorkovsky said. I do care. He doesn't talk about me too much. Why did it matter to you? Because he noticed you? It was an interesting way to become familiar with him. Out of all the things that I did in my life..I did a lot of much more interesting stuff. Were you happy that he noticed you? I like being mentioned in the media. So you were happy. A tiny bit. Is this how you talk about all the plane crashes? About all viral crashes. There was a plane crash in Katmandu recently.. I'm going to talk about it in my next episode. Did you talk about a Superjet that was caught on fire on its way to Murmansk? From Murmansk? No, it took off in Sheremetyevo and then came back.. Yes, it landed in Sheremetyevo. Of course, I talked about it. Did you use a toy plane to show the crash? It didn't crash. It caught on fire on a runway. The flight attendant opened the emergency door and created a reverse thrust. The people in the tail of the plane all died in the fire. I like studying plane crashes. Did you use your toy plane when you talked about this crash? This plane did not crash. Have you ever used your toy plane to show a crash that happened to a Russian plane? It's a good question. We didn't have a lot of accidents.. There was a crash recently where three crew members died. You're trying to imply that I wouldn't throw a toy plane while talking about a Russian plane. I'm just curious. I've never thought about it. Why wouldn't you do this with a Russian plane? I would always talk about the crash of a Russian plane. But you wouldn't use a toy plane.. This toy plane looked very offensive. Well, this is a food for thought. I've never thought about it before. Pilots always use toy planes to show their maneuvers. I used to fly a helicopter so I might be biased. Pilots sometimes walk on the runway to simulate a flight. It looks like trolling.. This doesn't look offensive, though. Probably. I am used to planning a flight on a toy plane. It is more convenient than showing a plane with my hands. If you found this offensive..I didn't mean to look like a God or Godzilla.. This is how it looked like. This is terrible. I've always been clear about it. I don't support any kind of violence and any kind of murder at any kind of wars. I don't care who is fighting who: Russia and Ukraine, Israel and Palestine, or Ethiopia and Tigray.. I don't support any kind of killing. We must solve all of our problems with diplomacy. Nobody can make me change my mind. In February of 2021 you posted a picture of Yulia Navalnaya's alleged German ID. Where did you get this picture from? This is another case where I fucked up. I was on a boat with a very expensive wi-fi hotspot for two months. Usually I would check all the facts. This time I received an email from some whistleblowers. I believe that all media figures receive such emails. Defrauded investors, private schools.. People send me all kinds of rumors. 99% of these news are irrelevant. Most of these people are just complaining. So I received this picture and didn't check the information.. I didn't have a lot of spare time..I posted it on my Telegram. I don't usually post any news on my Telegram. I only post the news on my videos. This is the only place where I'm talking about the news. Okay.. On February 24 I woke up in Kazan and read the news..I posted 'this is fucked up' I haven't changed my opinion since. This is fucked up. I decided to troll Meduza and asked them why they ignored this fact. As soon as I found out this was a fake picture I apologized.. The Internet on a boat was very slow.. Did you apologize right away? On my next publication. How much time passed between these publications? Two hours..[In fact there were 25 hours between the publications which included two other posts] I admitted that I fucked up. What else could I do? I rushed and I made the mistake. Polozkova said that 'I rushed to eat some shit' Didn't she say this? I don't remember. It sounds cool. I guess, Polozkova said this. I agree with this statement. I rushed to eat some shit. Did you try to contact the person who sent you this picture? I didn't. I feel like I got caught. I don't usually react to such emails. This is fraud. This is similar to financial fraud. I'm trying to be very cautious but this time they caught me. Did you decide to publish this picture because you were annoyed by Navalny's team? Yes, Navalny annoyed me a lot. So this coincided with your feelings.. Absolutely. We had quite a long battle with Navalny. I debated him before it became mainstream. I still believe that Navalny was a fraud. In April 2024 you said:'The news about Navalny being kept in a cold cell are fake' 'Navalny had enough free time to write complains about his cell.' 'They got sick of him. They had to check on him. These people had nothing to do with the prison' 'Their job is to check on all the complains.' 'He was kept in regular conditions' 'I am absolutely sure that this was a perfect prison' 'He wasn't cold. He was probably bored when they made him listen to Putin. This isn't as bad' 'I am absolutely sure that nobody tortured him.' Did you receive this information from the same person who sent you the picture of a fake ID? Of course, I did not. By the way, I think that she has a German ID now..I don't think that she lives in Europe without such an ID. Why do you think so? This is my opinion. Can you prove me wrong? They invited her into the Oval Office. I feel like she's now a citizen of some other country. I live in Europe and I don't have another passports. Yulia Navalnaya hasn't lived in Germany long enough to get a passport. She might have an American passport. Okay. I don't feel like getting another citizenship is any bad. Russian laws allow us to have several citizenships. Okay. I got this fake ID picture from an anonymous source. They got lucky when they caught me. I don't know if anyone else received this picture. This was a rare occasion when I rushed too much. I have a program called ten thousand steps of communication. On my way to my office or on my way home.. You are texting people on your way home. I talked to people who went to the war and to war prisoners. I talked to people who were hire by Wagner Group. I talked to a lot of law enforcers, judges, and prosecutors. All these law enforcers told me that the reality had nothing to do with what we saw in movies. When I went to a court to get divorced I didn't know what would happen there. I wanted to say 'your honor' when I saw the judge. It turned out that this was offensive. I had to call her 'dear court'. Have you seen any movies where they said 'dear court'? You can only say 'your honor' in a criminal case, that has luckily, never happened to me. Our perception of the system is very distorted. The law enforcers are sick of the movies about them. These movies are all wrong. Wait a little. So your opinion is based on having a conversation with someone. Do you believe the shows or the people? A lot of shows are co-written by the professionals to look more real. This is not true. This is definitely true.. Yes but no one takes this advice into account. The plot is more important. The enforcers told you.. These people told me that.. That Navalny was not being tortured. They told me that it was quite hard to torture a person. You would tell me that some people got fucked in the ass with a broom.. People who did this are now in prison. This is illegal. Do you mean that they are now in a prison for policemen? Yes. Have you watched Sobchak's episode about the torture in Russian prisons? Have you seen my episode about torture? Do you know what is going on at police stations and prisons? I have watched these episodes. This is happening in regular prisons. It's true. So? I said that the torturers got sent into a policemen prison. They got punished for torturing people. Are you trying to say that there is no more torture in Russian prisons? Mistakes always take place. This is what the Prosecutor's Office is for. There would be no prisons if people didn't break the laws. People break laws in every country. There are prisons in every country. Can you guess why? I have no doubt about this. Criminals go to prison. These people told you.. what? I didn't ask them about Navalny. I asked them about the whole system. They told me that famous prisoners were always surrounded by attention. If anything goes wrong, this would soon become known. There is too much attention. Would this be known? Of course. What do we know about Navalny's death? Was he killed? He was the most famous prisoner in Russia. He died. Have you read the coroner's report? What do we know about his death? We need to ask the coroner. Have you seen the report? I haven't. Neither have I. Why hasn't his family published the report? Wait..You said that they couldn't torture him because he was famous. However, we don't know what killed him. Isn't this a contradiction? The government might not have a right to share personal data. It means that you are wrong. His family hasn't shared the report. You don't know if the government has a right to do it. We would have seen the document had they published it. We haven't seen it yet. You are asking me about the stuff that I am not an expert in. I don't if they can publish such documents or not. This is what you assumed. I wasn't planning to talk about it. Had he died of something terrible, we would have found out already. Would this be published? Absolutely. They wouldn't hide it. Why? Because they benefit from it. How? Are you talking about his family? His supporters. His family has nothing to do with them. They lost their son and it's a tragedy. His team lost the source of their income. They are now trying to find a reason to exist now. They are now all fighting each other. Are you sure that they have the coroner's report? I'm sure that Navalny's mother has got the report. Do you know what it took his mother to get the body? Supposedly they didn't want to give her the body. This is what I remember. Your claim is that he couldn't be tortured. Yes. They couldn't? Couldn't they torture him in a comfortable cell? He had a standard cell just like everyone else. Do you know what a standard SHIZO looks like? This is not a very comfortable cell but it isn't cold. There are standards of air temperature and these parameters are all being watched by an.. By independent watchers. Yes, there is a special body. They are all competing. They are getting bonuses for finding violations. Don't the prison guards know how to hide their violations? No. Can't they pretend during the inspection? It's hard. They don't know how to do it? Are you trying to say that they kept him in a freezer and put him into a sauna during the inspection? You are not sure in what you're claiming to be a fact. You are making assumptions based on contradictory logic. This is what I asked you about. I'm not an expert in such inspections..I feel like they are allowed to talk to the prisoners. They would ask the prisoners about their conditions. We know that they made Navalny listen to Putin's speeches on replay. In the US they make prisoners listen to Baby Shark. Okay, this is a form of pressure. Do you know how many days he spent in SHIZO? He spent there all the time. Do you know what they put him there for? For not keeping the zipper up? I don't know.. So they put him in a solitary cell for nothing. They nitpicked him. This is what the rules are. Dura lex! What did you feel when you found out about his death? I read out my standard words of condolences. When somebody that I don't know personally dies I don't care. When Navalny died I said May God Rest His Soul. I wasn't making any jokes about his death. Are you worried about being potentially sanctioned by the West? I am not. I don't care about it. The world is so crazy now..Everyone is fucked up. We're at a very bad place emotionally. Unfortunately, we are all involved in this crazy play. If you are willing to go to heaven in one religion, the other religion would send you to hell. I made my choice. I'm Russian. I have always worked and lived in Russia. I came back to Russia in 1991 before it became mainstream. Nowadays such an act would look like the Shaman's protest. It was clear to me that Russia was the best place for me. Aren't you worried about no longer being able to travel? I've visited all the countries in the world. I have got twenty passports. I have seen everything I wanted to see. If they ban me from coming to Paris to eat some snails..I can live with it. We have tastier snails in Moscow. I've heard from various people that you dislike Navalny because his team put you on the warmongers list. I don't care about it. You don't care? This list doesn't work. There are 2000 or 6000 people on the list.. 6000, I guess. They extended the list to 6000. This list has been hidden in the Senate desk for three years. Nobody cares about this list. Let's make it clear. Navalny is dead and I don't want to make any jokes about him. I can only talk about the time when he was alive. You said very mean words about him in SHIZO. You might not notice this. Probably. Sometimes people are too sensitive about it. Navalny got offended by me. I wouldn't get offended if I was him. I'm annoyed by his useless team. They are pretending to have some kind of influence. They are a bunch of clowns. I'm not ashamed of attacking them. In 2019 you said this about the Beslan Mothers: '314 people died in the terrorist attack..184 of them were kids..' 'This terrible tragedy can't be forgotten. However, these committees are speculating on the tragedy' 'These people are trying to get as much attention and as much political profit as possible.' 'They should just bury their kids.' What kind of political profit were you talking about? What a great quote. I still think the same. Such committees are based on tragic past events and they are trying to make these event relevant. The Beslan Mothers had a fight with the Beslan Voices and now there are two committees. They are both trying to collect some money..This is so weird. There are two separate committees. There are different organizations fighting domestic violence. Are you okay with it? This is fine. Why? Why should all the Beslan mothers join one specific committee? They are now selling their voices. They all share this tragedy. A trillion years later they are irrelevant.. I know that you've watched our episode from Beslan. You mentioned this before. I don't think you remember what the episode was about..There were a few characters there.. They survived the attack but they are now disabled. They need to go through a rehabilitation every year to be able to move in a wheelchair. This rehabilitation is costly in both Russia and abroad. These committees are one of the few people who help them. The government doesn't give a shit about them. I'm not sure about this.. What do you mean? We spent weeks next to these people. There were many of them. Not just one victim that we were sorry for. There was this woman who was selling flowers.. Yes. You made her famous. There was a young girl who worked as an accountant. There was a girl with an injured skull..I am trying not to sound offensive.. These committees help the victims. Mercy is a good thing. You did a good thing. Mercy is good. It's good that someone helps them. These committees are not just raising money for new wheelchairs. They are talking bullshit. And this is what made me mad. What exactly? I don't know if their websites are working or banned now.. Their statements had nothing to do with the terrorist attack. They addressed Putin on some topics..This is bullshit. Don't they have a right to have an opinion? We all have a right to have an opinion. My opinion is that they are talking bullshit. Okay. They do whatever they want and I do whatever I want to do. God forbid..I don't wish this to you.. I'm just trying to imagine..I hope this never happens to you. You said:'They should just bury their kids and move on.' If one of your kids died in a similar event..How much time would you need to move on? This is a weird question. I would like my kids to die after me, not before me. This is what I wish for, too. However, you judged the victims of this tragedy.. Why can't we think about a similar situation happening to you? I don't want to think about it. Okay. This is the best response. In the end of the text you wrote:'They can't change anything. They need to move on' 'There is no more terrorism in our country and this is no longer possible' Unfortunately, you were wrong. What do you think happened in Crocus? A terrorist attack. Who do you think is responsible? Why was this attack possible? It became possible because nobody expected such a crazy group of high bastards.. I'm sure that they were all high..They acted so weirdly.. It looked like a provocation. It made no sense. They didn't make any statements. Nobody took the responsibility for the attack. Wilayat Khorasan took the responsibility.. This is bullshit. They have nothing to do with it. People were having fun in the center of Moscow.. The lights were on..And these terrorists just started shooting at everyone like they were in GTA. I feel like you said the same thing to Shevelev when you were talking about the October 7 attack. You said that this was a provocation and the terrorists were high. Sure. Do you think these attacks were similar? I feel like these attacks were very similar. You're going to call me a conspiracy theorist.. I don't know why HAMAS filmed their attack on Israel in details. They raped women and broke their legs..Why did they film this? Surely, a lot of terrible stuff is happening at wars. At least, this stuff is not being filmed. This daring attack was made public by the terrorists. What about the attack in Moscow? Same here. You told Shevelev that the US were responsible for the attack on Israel. This is what it looks like to me. What about the attack in Moscow? I don't know who is responsible. This looks like another case of fraud. These fraudsters are making professors set polling places on fire. Can you expect an elderly professor to do this? And then they throw a Molotov cocktail at a polling place. This is absurd. Some people make them commit these crimes. Let's call them pranksters. So the pranksters are responsible for this terrorist attack. Some pranksters made these people kill lots of civilians and set them on fire. This makes no sense. Their goal was probably to make people panic. However, Russians don't tend to panic even after such horrible events. The terrorists got caught and we saw them getting beaten up. We saw that they got punished. The same thing happened in the jail in Rostov. The terrorists got killed. This is illegal but it is effective. Do you think that Ukraine has something to do with the attack? So-so. I don't think that Ukraine is responsible. Putin and Patrushev both said there was a Ukrainian trace. They said there was a trace. The equipment, the call-centers.. They were offered an escape route through Ukraine. I don't know if you're following Ukraine. I had an office there since 2000. You're going to tell us about the corruption in Ukraine. You can't imagine how corrupt Ukraine is. It's not about the corruption. Corruption is the smallest problem there. There are no laws in Ukraine. You can do whatever you want in Ukraine. I've heard this many times in your interviews. Putin spoke about the escape route in Ukraine. The terrorists were heading towards the border.. Where else would they run? They can't escape to Belarus. How would they be allowed to leave Russia? Do we have a porous border? Of course, we do. Can you tell us about it? Where can one get to Ukraine after committing a terrorist attack? Shall I send you the location? I'm really curious. Open Google Maps. Take a look at the border. There is no border. There are two fields with a tiny stream between them. Sometimes there is no stream. So anyone can come to the border of Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine.. I don't think that the border is porous there.. This is where they were heading. They got caught in Bryansk, as far as I know. They were next to Belarus, this is why Belarus customs officers caught them. I might be wrong.. I don't think so. They were caught in Bryansk.. Is the border porous in Bryansk? There is a war going on. There are no troops there. This is impossible to guard the whole border. It's too long. We don't have as many people. It's easier to cross the border through a forest. During the pandemic I drove to Belarus in a tractor. All the roads were closed. There is no border in the forest. There is no border between Russia and Belarus. There was a border during the pandemic. Anyone could cross the border through the forest. Slava Komissarenko told this in his stand-up show. Belarus is different from Ukraine. Anyone who's in trouble in Russia can escape via the Ukrainian border. These people are taken through the forest. This will always be the case. Of course, nowadays this is a much more costly and risky process. So the claim about the escape route made sense to you. It made as much sense as the Afghan refugees entering Poland from Belarus. How did you feel about one of the terrorist getting his ear cut off? I saw the video.. I saw it, too. I was curious why this happened.. What did you think about when you saw it? Let me describe what happened there. They left their car and ran into the forest. One of the terrorist climbed onto a tree. When the secret services found him and told him to get off.. They probably started shooting at him and he fell off the tree. He cut his ear. So when the officer was cutting his ear off he wanted to finish what happened before. I'm not trying to justify cutting ears off of people. Where did you see this video with the tree? They didn't show this video. Was this video privately shown to you? The ear cutting video.. I saw it. What about the tree? I read this in the text. In the text? Did you believe it? It made sense to me. You believed it. It doesn't mean that I support cutting the ears off. You can't be sure that this happened but you believed it. Why did they only cut one ear? One of the officers went mad and he punished the terrorist. This ear was already flappy after the fall. Why don't you believe me? The officer saw these terrorist murder 150 people and hurt a lot of other people. He went mad and decided to take revenge. I agree but I feel like he had this idea because the ear was already bleeding from the fall. You haven't seen the whole video, though. I haven't. You've just told this story like you saw the video. I'm always trying to find some logic. You described this situation in details even though you haven't seen it. I read the description. So you are absolutely sure that the author of this text wasn't lying. Why would he lie? Why? To protect the secret services from the lynching accusations. I wouldn't be surprised if all the terrorists got their ears cut off. This is terrible but it wouldn't surprise me. It is all Allah's will. This guy got lucky. I think that they got tortured later. There is no justification for the crimes that they committed. I'm not trying to defend them. However, I think that cutting their ears off is fucked up. Don't you feel scared of such violence becoming everyday routine? I don't. Why? I stand against any kind of violence. Any kind of torture or suffering. I don't think that anyone in the world can be tortured. I know that it happens regardless of what I think. This was a private video that wasn't supposed to be seen by public. It means that some boss allowed to post this video to scare the terrorists. This is how they got punished. This is probably bad. Is it effective? It is. Why aren't you scared of such violence? Why would I be scared? Don't you feel like such extreme violence allows violence to happen in our everyday life? These people had just killed 150 people in a mall. Isn't this extreme violence? We can't forgive them for their crimes. We dislike the terrorists but they got illegally punished. They were lynched. This happens. One blogger said:'Laws are imperfect but there is no better alternative than the laws' 'Without justice we would come back to the Stone Age.' Do you know who said this? Was this me? Artemy Lebedev wrote this in 2019 to Ramzan Kadyrov. Without justice we would come back to the Stone Age. But now you are saying something very different. Without justice we would come back to the Stone Age. However, sometimes you are fine with the injustice. I am not fine. This is what I heard. I didn't mean it. I am as surprised as everyone. We all live on this planet. And these events are happening at the same time. Would you say that you have more rights or higher morals than me? I wouldn't. This is a fucked up situation that we both witnessed. What else can I say? I felt like you supported it. I didn't. Okay. I was wrong then. I'm trying to find a reason why they showed us the video. I don't think this was the first time they cut somebody's ear off. Was this the first time we saw it happening? It was. You said you weren't scared of violence becoming a norm. Wouldn't such violence lead to people attacking blue-haired people with slim jeans and manicure? Just because there is more violence in our lives. This violence comes from the people who create the norm. Unfortunately, you are right. This is what happened in Ukraine. In the last ten years they have gone mad. This is a classic example.. This is my personal example.. You like bringing up other countries in any discussion. Yura, wait a minute. I didn't mention Ethiopia. Or Gaza. I've been there. I've been to Palestine. I lived in the US and in Ukraine. I care about these countries. I'm following their politics and their people. I'm in touch with these countries. I'm bringing them up because this is important. It is important but you do it all the time. This is pure whataboutism. This is a cheap shot. You are a great speaker and a very smart guy. Thank you. I don't feel like whataboutism should be your weapon. I would be thankful to you if we only talked about Russia. Can I ask you something? What about whataboutism? What is wrong with it? This trick can be used to justify anything. There are many fucked up countries. If we focus on these countries we can justify anything. Especially if these countries are in big trouble? Is Ukraine in trouble? Of course, it is. Are the US in trouble? Of course, they are. They are far from being perfect. This sounds so funny. You have a similar intonation to Navalny. 'This is funny' Let's talk about Russia. This is a good trick. Bringing up examples is a part of a discussion. People who ban examples don't want to be held responsible. This is wrong. This is what they do in the US. They do the wildest shit and they don't let anyone ask them about it. They want to look perfect. Let's talk about the violence. You agreed that this is how it works. I brought up Ukraine. This country used to be so kind and cute. They had great designers and engineers, they had beautiful women.. And now their country is fucked up. There are no laws in Ukraine. It is a totalitarian country. They can't leave their country, there is no freedom of speech..They banned everything. Yandex an VK got their domains destroyed. Yandex.ua no longer exists. This website is gone. They banned everything. They only talk to Washington. Washington fucks them for free. They are printing money. Ukrainian people are shocked now. Some of them left the country already. The rest of them are waiting for this disaster to be over. The nationalists are allowed to do whatever they want. They are killing people in the center of Kyiv. This is what we had in 1990s. Zelensky took two of my flats away. Can I stick to Ukrainian justice now? I can't. Nobody would even talk to me. Okay, you've just repeated everything that you usually saw on your interviews. I would like to talk to you about something new. Is it true that cutting an ear off might lead us to Ukraine? It's not true. There is an exception. I feel like there is a reason why they showed us this video. We have a lot of troubles now, the war, and the sanctions.. The government said that there would be zero tolerance towards terrorists. We used to negotiate with Chechen terrorists and let them leave. There are no more negotiations. We would beat them up, electrocute their balls.. This is our response to terrorism. Would this protect us from violence? I have no idea. Thank God, I'm not a silovik. I don't have to be responsible for their media. Did this attack happen because the special forces failed to prevent it? I guess so. Do you think that secret services are looking for terrorists among the opposition instead of looking for real terrorists? I feel like this is a very childish view on what they do. Can you explain? I feel like our secret services are very good at their job. I wish them best of luck. I'm not quite happy with them not sharing more information about their work. NY Times likes sharing stories of their special operations. They would share the details of a secret operation in three days after it happens. This is what they do. Sometimes they would share it in three years. NY Times posted an article about the network of CIA camps next to Russia. They admitted helping Ukraine fight Russia. They wrote a big article about it. They say that this network is much more effective than having spies in Moscow. These spies receive all the information a lot faster at the front. You're talking about marketing. NY Times wrote an article about it. The Americans openly talk about taking part in the war. Russian secret services would never tell us anything. Even when they capture a terrorist I'm not sure if this was a real terrorist. Why would I believe them? They are never sharing any details. They should get better at marketing their job. What they do and what the results of their work. I'm not saying that the terrorist attack happened because Akunin, Berkovich, and Petriychuk were announced terrorists. This opinion exists, you called it childish but you haven't explained why. People who are prosecuting Akunin and Petriychuk represent another department. How do you know? This is another department. Where do you know this from? You have just said that we don't know anything about their work. We don't. I'm trying to guess. So this is just an assumption. Look..I know a lot about CIA than I know about FSB and a hundred other bodies. Let's call them secret services. American secret services like to share the details of their work. They might be lying to us. They might be making it all up. While Russian secret services never share anything about their work. I would like to know something about their work. When I'm reading the reports of the airplane crashes that IAC publishes..There reports are very detailed. All the transcripts, all the technical parameters.. These reports are being studied by pilots. I like studying them as an amateur. I would like to get the same reports of terrorist attacks. This is not possible nowadays. You said that there is a separate department that is prosecuting Akunin. But you are not sure about it. I'm not sure. You made this assumption. I did. You made a big video after my interview with Vera Polozkova. You talked about the interview for sixteen minutes. This video went viral on YouTube. It got about a million views. Much more than that. You said:'Our life has nothing to do with presidents. Look in the window - the sun is shining and the birds are singing songs.' 'This is what life is about' There are young guys in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Makhachkala, Kostroma, Khabarovsk, Perm..They all used to look in the window. And Donetsk. In Donetsk, too. The chronology would be a little different, though. These young guys were enjoying the sunshine until September of 2022, when the President decided to send some of them to war. A lot of them died at the war. We don't know exactly how many mobilized men died in Ukraine. Mediazona mentioned that 7 thousand mobilized men died in this war. I am only talking about Russian soldiers now. Did their lives have anything to do with the president? I'm trying to understand what you are asking.. They only called the liable military people to war. Some of them didn't serve in the military. They all did serve. No, some of them had military education. Military people also drink beer and pee. They are human, too. These people knew that their duty was to protect their homeland. This is how this works. What if you are a driver.. Do you think that there are no drivers at the war? I don't. 5% of soldiers are fighting and the rest are supplying them with arms. Okay, so? Did their lives have anything to do with the president? They didn't want to serve in the military. They had other jobs. They were called out to serve or they studied military in their universities. These people had nothing to do with military service. Ten or fifteen years later.. Do you know that nurses are also liable military persons? I do. And they know it from the very first day at the university. If you own a jeep, it can be used at the war and you know it when you're buying it. You said:'Your life doesn't depend on the president' And then the president makes a decision to send more people to war. These people are sent to war where they die. Doesn't their life depend on the president? They were sent to war by the president. You are right then. So you were wrong. Life indeed depends on the president. This was an inaccurate generalization by you. This is how I see life. My life does not depend on the president. Sometimes people are sent to wars. This doesn't only happen in Russia. Some people are sent to prison. Some people are sent to die at wars. So your claim is bullshit then. When there is a war, your life depends on the president. So your claim is false. I said this before the war. You said in your reaction to the Vera Polozkova interview in December of 2022. You said this after the mobilization was announced. Okay..This is how you see things. How? You think that everything depends on the president. You very well know how I see things. There are 147 million people whose life don't depend on the president. Let me say this again. I get it. Okay. In your case our life depends on the president. In our 2017 interview you said that you respected Putin. You said you respected him for not being violent. Are you willing to say this once again? I knew you would ask me about it. I am willing to say this again. Can you do it? I can. You would tell me that there is a war going on in our country. People are suffering and dying at this war. Shall we go back in time and talk about why this situation happened? I'm getting a lot of flashbacks.. I've spent the last ten days watching your videos. I can tell you something that I've never said before. I've had this thought recently. I have a lot of problems with my country. One of these recent problems is the lack of PR. Our government doesn't like to talk to people, which is wrong. People have to know what they are doing. When the war began we forgot to talk to Ukrainians. We didn't tell them what was coming. 'Dear friends, there is demilitarization and denazification coming..' This has nothing to do with the people. I feel like Putin addressed him in his speech. He told them that he would only use highly precise weapons. He addressed the Ukrainian military asking them to replace Zelensky. He did, but this is not what I'm talking about. Regular people - like designers in Krivoy Rig - were not addressed. We didn't tell them what was going on. We should have said that we are going to take our land back. We feel like the Ukrainian authorities are f*****s. We don't like this. We would save you from the Americans. This would be a great punchline. This is what Putin said. No, he didn't. He had to address the people of Ukraine. Things would be different today. He didn't talk to Ukrainians and he didn't talk to Russians. Now I have to talk to everyone. I'm a fucking designer! I'm making political videos because my government has failed to do so. I have to explain how this life works for people to keep sane. I've never received so much gratitude as I do know. My inbox folder is full of thanks. Who thanks you? People whom I saved from insanity. Regular people? Yes, regular people who didn't understand what was going on. They were about to go insane until I made them conscious again. This is what Arestovich did to Ukrainians in the beginning of the war. Are you a Russian Arestovich? I wouldn't like to be compared to him. I am me. Why wouldn't you like to be compared to him? Arestovich is a very sneaky person. Aren't you the same? I'm a normal person. I'm sharing my sanity model with everyone. I like showing people how I come to my conclusions. There is logic behind all of my conclusions. Okay..You say that Putin is not violent. This sounds controversial but I believe that he is not violent. He wasn't planning to kill a lot of people. He could have just killed Khodorkovsky while he was in prison. Back then in 2003. Do you remember how everyone hated Russia for putting Khodorkovsky in prison? They spent millions on this propaganda. Then we had Sentsov, Savchenko, and everyone else. Putin released all of them. Tolokonnikova and Sentsov both looked great when they were released from prison. How did Navalny look? As you can see, Navalny was a tramp. He had poor health. A tramp? He lost a lot of weight in prison. Why? Can you tell me? Why? I don't know why he lost weight. Maybe it's because he got poisoned. He looked okay after the poisoning. Putin saved him. The plane landed at the airport during a case of telephone terrorism. They called the ambulance that saved his life in our corrupt country. Then the doctors arrived from Moscow and made the decision.. Had they wanted to murder him, they would have easily done it. Who said that Russia had poor healthcare? Navalny said so. Did he? I've never heard him say this. He was also unhappy with healthcare and education systems. Can you find his quotes? I'm too lazy. I'll ask someone to do this. You said that Putin released his prisoners..Even though a lot of people are still being held in prison. Kara-Murza is still is prison. Navalny died in prison. When someone splashed brilliant green in his eye he went to undergo treatment in Barcelona. He needed to get proper treatment. Because Russia has poor healthcare? He could have healed his eye in Russia. Navalny's supporters thanked Russian doctors for saving him. I guess, he called the doctors amazing. He said that the authorities rascals who didn't let the doctors do their job. I'm almost sure that you are wrong about this. You are a smart person, not Arestovich. On February 20-21, 2022 Russia was living a regular peaceful life. Wait a minute. I'm not going to talk about Donbas now. I've heard this too many times. On February 24 Putin decided to invade Ukraine. Over two years later, according to Mediazona, who used open sources.. They found evidence of almost 60 thousand people who died in the war. These people were all alive before February 24. Their blood is on Putin's hands and his decision to start the war. He made this decision alone. People die at wars. Why isn't Putin violent then? I don't understand your logic. I don't to label anyone and call him a war criminal. I want to get your logic. I see that he solves his problems peacefully. He's not starting bloodbaths all the time. This is not his style. Starting a war and losing 60 thousand of your people.. And killing thousands of other people..Isn't this violent? He made the most difficult decision of his life. I don't think that he's even faced a bigger challenge. He started a war that you call a full-scale war. I don't know where you got this name from. There was a hybrid for before that. This is also a cliche. This was a also a real war! It was a war. It started after the Maidan revolution. The heavenly hundred and all this stuff.. A lot of people died..This was violent. They opened a Pandora's box by killing lots of people. We're not talking about Poroshenko or Zelensky. Why? Because I'm asking you about Putin. Putin is fighting Zelensky, not himself. Is he violent or not? Unfortunately, 60 thousand of our compatriots are dead now. They are gone forever. This is very sad. And you claim that Putin is not violent. I don't get your logic. I'm not trying to wave my liberal flag. A non-violent person made a decision to start a war. And 60 thousand people died at this war. People die at wars. And this doesn't make him violent. He is not a violent person. He founded himself in this situation..People go to wars.. He said that Ukrainians were no different from Russians. This is a civil war. They are fighting quite well, as we see. Who killed Prigozhin? Putin. Do you have any doubts? I don't. Neither do I. Are you claiming that Putin killed the pilot and two flight attendants together with Prigozhin and Utkin? You asked me who killed Prigozhin. I did. I think that Putin killed him. This was wrong and illegal but this happens in the world of secret services. Prigozhin had too much power and he went insane. He took down six planes and helicopters on his way to Moscow. He killed innocent people, too. These pilots didn't become the Heroes. They had their morning coffee not knowing this was their last day. Prigozhin took these planes down. He couldn't be forgiven. We can't forgive the terrorists. Same with Prigozhin. The Generals and the oligarchs found out that marching towards Moscow was an option. They could afford that easily. And then they saw what happened to him. The pilots and the flight attendant were innocently killed. This is called collateral damage. So you just called Putin a terrorist. I did not. He killed at least three innocent people. They had nothing to do with war crimes or treason. Three innocent lives.. This is an exxageration. Why? Prigozhin died in a plane that got taken down. I asked you who killed him. Who exploded his plane? You said that Putin killed him. There were three innocent people on that plane. So it turns out that Putin is a terrorist. This is your claim, not mine. This is your logic. Doesn't it make sense? It doesn't make sense. Okay. I have another question about mobilization. I don't feel like we understand the word terrorist the same way. Why? Isn't taking down a civil plane called terrorism? This is not what terrorism means. Can you explain? The goal of a terrorist attack is to spread terror and impact politicians. He got rid of a rival. He punished a lord for going insane. This is a political move that made him stronger. No, he proved that the coup was inappropriate. This is also a political move. Hence, this is a terrorist attack. Okay. I see it as a conflict between the siloviks. In movies spies are always getting killed for treason. I wanted to ask you a question about mobilization. You have four older kids.. Four adult kids. Yes, four adult kids. At least one of them is a boy. Two. You told Shevelev that you didn't want your boys to go to war. And this is absolutely fine. You don't want your kids to go to war. Absolutely. However, you said that you needed Odessa to join Russia. You said:'Russian troops are now winning back Russian land.' 'This land has always been Russia. It was mistakenly granted to Ukraine and they decided to get rid of Russians' 'Of course, I want Russian troops to get to Odessa and to get rid of Ukrainian authorities' 'Poroshenko and Zelensky need to think about their attitude. They should open up the borders and we would be able to fly from Moscow to Odessa again' What is wrong with this statement? You don't want your kids to go to war but you want Odessa to become Russian. It's impossible to get to Odessa now without losing a lot of troops. You want other kids to die for Odessa. I want to able to fly from Moscow to Odessa and to eat in the Dacha restaurant. I like this city. They have beautiful girls in Odessa. For some reason I can't fly there anymore. I want this to be possible again. You're telling me to send my kids to die. I don't want anyone to die for it. I don't want there to be a war. I want things to go back as they were. I want us to have an open border with Ukraine. You used to say that you wanted this war to end with peace. This time you said:'I want our troops to advance a little more..' To make Odessa a Russian city. Russian troops can't advance without resistance from Ukraine. This would end up in more deaths from both sides. You don't want your kids to die at the war. Do you want other kids to die for Odessa? Only professional troops should be fighting at wars. My kids are not professional troops. Are mobilized troops professional? They all have military skills. They are professional troops. Should they all die for you? For you to be able to have dinner in Odessa? I don't want anyone to die. You pressed on Shevelev and told him there is no contradiction here. There was no contradiction in your quote. However, now we are talking about paying with others lives for Odessa. I don't want this war to be happening. You said this before. But in your recent interviews you are saying the opposite.. You call this a full-scale war. This matters to you, I guess. It doesn't, really.. Okay. This war started with Maidan revolution. It all started in 2014. One group of Ukrainians went to war with another group. Do you know what pacifism is about? You didn't care about them. Do you know what pacifism is? Shtefanov is a pacifist. He calls everyone to stop fighting to make peace. He doesn't support any of the sides. This is what humanism is about. There is no problem with such an opinion because he is being consistent. There is no contradiction in his opinion. There is a colossal contradiction in your opinion. You are not calling to stop the war. You wish to win Odessa to go to a restaurant. Am I wrong? You are wrong because you are trying to compare me to him. I'm not him. I brought up a humanitarian opinion. I'm sorry. You said that you don't support killing people. Shtefanov stands against killing people. This is what humanism is about. You are not humanist. I am a humanist and a pacifist. I have a lot of other accomplishments in life. I'm not a military person. I know how the big goals are achieved. Every big country has an army. If I was making my own country I would have forgotten to have an army. I wouldn't even think about it. I would never fight anyone. I feel like we should communicate more. Humanity has got huge potential given our intelligence. However, we're always creating a lot of trouble. The Ukrainians decided not to use some words and it all led to a bloodbath. This can only be stopped by winning the war. By reaching Odessa? For example. And your kids are not getting involved. They are not. Okay. They are not professional soldiers. I don't like how a lot of stuff is done in our country. Nobody asked me about my opinion. You said:'Complexity and diversity are crucial. There have to be some boundaries of diversity' If someone like Pizdulina tells you what to do and how to live your life this would be the worse thing that can happen to your country. They will be our biggest enemies. Who were you talking about? I was talking about ultra-patriots who know better what to do. They consider themselves to be the role models. They are usually associated with Kremlin. They want to tell us where to drink beer and what songs to listen to. These people are crazy. I think that they have mental diseases. This is how they are trying to protect themselves. They are trying to pretend that they represent the officials. What are they trying to protect themselves from? From going to prison or being executed. I don't know what they're scared of. These people are fucking nuts. I'm not like them. Where does the word Pizdulina come from? Does it have to do anything with Mizulina? Pizda means a female genitalia. -Ina is an ending of a female last name. Did you mean Mizulina? I don't know what about that. What do you think about Mizulina? I don't like her at all. Why? I think that her actions are damaging Russia. She's not helping. She pretends to have some power..She doesn't have any power. Her Safe Internet League.. It's a public organization. This is a piece of shit. I can start a Pelmeni League and teach everyone to live their lives. Don't eat pesto! This is not what our religion tells us to eat. I don't like Mizulina. I feel like the state should fight people like her. She is an info-terrorist. Info-terrorist? Absolutely. On May 9, 2022 you published a text on how WWII started. 'They won't tell us about it at school. The war started in 1939 when Germany and USSR invaded Poland.' 'Then USSR invaded Finland and then Germany attacked USSR.' Mizulina wanted you to be prosecuted for rehabilitation of Nazism. She needs to read some history books. You were definitely right. Did you get prosecuted? I didn't. I guess, the investigator read the history book and found out that I was right. We didn't study WWII at school even though it was a huge war. Many islands in the Pacific ocean still have military bases from WWII. There are planes in Micronesia..I got my scuba diving license in Micronesia.. There is an aircraft carrier with planes on it underwater. It's been there for eighty years. It's rusty now. Underwater? Yes. This is where I had my scuba diving exam. The Americans drowned a lot of Japanese ships there. This is a great place for diving. We didn't study this at school. This war took place in many exotic countries. We only studied the Great Patriotic War. From June 22, 1941 to May 9, 1945. This is just an episode of WWII. The war was much bigger than that. There's nothing wrong with knowing the history. Were you worried when Mizulina wanted to prosecute you? I wasn't. Not worried at all? No. You wrote:'I think that banning shows and putting rappers in prison is the best thing that can happen to our culture' 'When nobody attacks the culture it becomes too soft and boring' 'Under pressure culture become more alive and energetic' Doesn't Mizulina do the same stuff? Well, our culture can benefit from her actions. Is she good for our culture or not? She's bad. Sometimes something bad leads to something good. There is no contradiction. No. People who left Russia are wasting their impact on culture. They can no longer write hits or make blockbuster movies. They can no longer direct amazing plays. They wouldn't make me want to fly to Yerevan to see their play. Did you watch a lot of plays before the war? I go to theaters all the time. Are you a fan of theater? I have seen a lot of plays. People who left no Russia are no longer doing anything interesting. They have become boring. People who are still in Russia are much more talented. Brodsky was banned and then they made statues of him. This is what our history is about. We're fighting ourselves and then we're feeling sorry. You have to go through repressions to become a hero. This is why Navalny came back to Russia. He wanted to become a martyr. Why would anyone give him the throne? He wanted to suffer for the throne like Nelson Mandela did. He wanted to win this race. This is what our drama is. You said that Russian plays abroad are all boring. Can you name at least one play that you watched? I haven't even heard about any of these plays. How can you call them boring? Hadn't they been boring I would have known that. You haven't read the book but you made the conclusion. Can you name any hits from Russian bands who left the country? Did Maxim Pokrovsky write a hit? He sucks! His songs are terrible. He used to be a talented guy. He left Russia. Why can't he tell Putin to fuck off? Why can't he write his bravest song now? He wasted his talent. I can't tell you about Maxim Pokrovsky. With all due respect to his passion I don't like his songs, too. Did BG write any decent songs? You asked me a question. For how many weeks did Monetochka's record was on top of Russian streaming platforms? This record was on top for a few weeks. Not one song but the whole record. The record was number one for four weeks. Good for her. This is my reply to your question. Okay, I will write this down. You haven't seen a single play but you think that they are all boring. Okay. You said:'There is a huge and ugly statue in Volgograd called The Motherland Calls' 'This is a terrible work of Soviet monumental arts that we unfortunately can't get rid of.' 'This is a piece of shit that is now a symbol and cannot be destroyed.' 'This sculpture would stand there forever. It is extremely ugly..' 'They used to have lights that would make this sculpture look like a woman with tits and an ass ' 'Now they replaced the lights with some ugly LEDs that look terrible now' Can you tell me what is wrong with this sculpture? Is there anything wrong with the ratios? This a toxic topic. I had to go to the investigative committee to explain what I meant. I wrote a text about the Victory Day and said that we shouldn't build ugly sculptures to honor this date. People thought that I offended the Victory Day and their grandparents. These people are out of their minds. My opinion on any kind of design is based on my expertise. I've worked as a designer for all my life. This is why I asked you about this sculpture. Designers and artists use their creativity to depict their mood or some important events in their arts. The statue should be stable. It should be standing still. It should also look pleasing and recognizable from all sides. It's not a piece of concrete. This is a complex work of art. This is as complex as building a house. Some statues are good and some are bad. Some of them become sacred because they are dedicated to a sacred event. We become victims of our pagan traditions. We can't judge the statue because it is dedicated to a sacred event. It's too sacred. Yes. It's not sacred to me because I'm an artist. I'm a gynecologist who can't be surprised by a thot. I need to heal the cancer and I'm doing my job. The Motherland Calls is not a pretty sculpture. Her mouth is open..It was built by an old senile man. I like the silhouette of the sculpture. The sword looks good. However, I think that this sculpture could have been much better and tender. Now there is this terrible lighting of the statue and it looks even worse. It needs to have better lighting. There has to be an emphasis on the human body. You said that we can no longer get rid of this work of art. Would you like to get rid of it? I would like to have an undo button in life. There is a Peter the Great statue in Moscow. I feel like this statue needs to be blown up. This is an ugly statue. Am I a terrorist for calling to destroy a piece of culture? This is a metaphor. I want to get rid of this ugly piece of shit. I have a right to have a professional opinion. A girl from Samara published a video where she tickled the breast of the Motherland statue. She is now being prosecuted for rehabilitation of Nazism. She was sentenced to ten months of community service. What do you think about this sentence? I don't support it. What else should I think about it? She is a silly girl but she shouldn't be sentenced to anything.. Why is she silly? I'm sorry for bring up England.. Recently they introduced a law that doesn't permit climbing military statues. Such actions would offend the memory of troops. She didn't climb the statue. This is quite the same. This statue is dedicated to bravery of Soviet soldiers. This statue means a lot, it is a sacred place. They didn't build the best monument to honor this place.. This statue was built before my birth. This girl offended the memory of the soldiers. She can tickle any other statue. She can tickle Pushkin's balls. 'This is an ugly piece of shit which was built by an old senile man. Unfortunately, we can no longer get rid of it' Didn't you offend the memory of Soviet soldiers? I just described the statue. Ugly piece of shit? Is this any better than tickling the statue? I don't think that Artemy Lebedev should be prosecuted for his words. Neither should the girl be prosecuted for her video. Thank you. Are your words any different? Some people would finds your words much more offensive than her video. If I was responsible for laying the flowers at the statue..I could have done it the Indian-Pakistani border way.. This is hilarious. This would look very weird if our soldiers did it. This would be a professional conversation. I'm not giving any assessment to the tragedy that this war was. I'm not questioning the need for statues. I am saying that this place is dedicated to the scale of the events that took place there. The battle of Stalingrad was a huge event. The statue could have look different. This is my opinion. Your opinion sounds like an insult. You said that the girl was to blame for the video. She just tickled the statue. What if she treats it like her mother? What if the statue symbolized her mother? She's being tender with it. She was trying to show love to the statue. Can we look at it from this perspective? We can. You're telling me that calling this statue an ugly piece of shit is better than tickling the statue on a video. I told you that I didn't want the girl to get punished. You did the same stuff. I don't remember what you said about the girl.. You said that she was silly. Aren't you silly, too? I'm not. You said that she was silly for offending a sacred statue. Didn't you offend the statue? I didn't tickle its tits. Calling it a piece of shit is not an insult? I called it a piece of shit because I don't like this statue. Oh, the statue. This is my professional language. This is how we talk about art. We want our statues to look good for centuries to come. Unlike this statue. Some statues are ugly and I don't like it. I get it. I support talking about statues in any kind of language. Why do you think this girls got prosecuted and you didn't? What do you think? What do I think? I would like to know what you think. And then I'll tell you what I think. I think that I didn't offend anyone. Even though they called me to the investigative committee. When did it happen? A couple of years ago. Before the war? Before the war. What was this conversation like? Some deputy in Volgograd reported on me. The investigator called me and talked to me. So what was the conversation like? I interrupted him from his work.. He listened to me.. Did he write anything down? He wrote everything down. I gave the same response to all of his questions. I told him I would not testify. I didn't have to testify against myself. Our Constitution allows me to do so. Didn't you think that some people are allowed more than others? Vladimir Solovyov is allowed to say that Hitler was a brave man and a great warrior. He called him courageous. Anton Krasovsky said that Ukrainian kids should be drowned. Do you think what they did to him? They temporarily fired him.. He lost his job. He's still being financed by the government. His show is not popular. He didn't face any legal issues even though he called for hatred. Margarita Simonyan suggested to blow a nuclear bomb above Siberia and didn't get prosecuted. Some people are allowed to say crazy stuff and not get prosecuted. Regular people from Samara are getting punished for smaller crimes. Aren't you one of these special people? I don't know how you define these people. Who allowed them to do more than others? Obviously, people who send us to prison. Is there a list? Is there a list of people who are untouchable? This is what I am saying. Do you think so? I'm asking you if you feel this way. I don't feel this way. You talked to Svetlana Bondarchuk about the Prince Vladimir statue. And the Kalashnikov statue. You don't like these statues. I don't. You said that people who made the Kalashnikov statue were assholes. This is the report from the opening ceremony: the executive director of the military society Kononov said that the sculptor was chosen from a contest with one participant. The head of Rostekh, who funded the statue, Sergey Chemezov, picked this particular sculptor. Chemezov picked Salavat. There were no other contenders. Is it true that you called Sergey Chemezov an asshole? No, an asshole is the person who gave Kalashnikov a German machine gun. People who made the statue are assholes. I thought that you were talking about everyone who took part.. I'm talking about the particular person. What do you think about Salavat Shcherbakov, the sculptor? I think that he is a very talented sculptor and his best statue is a statue of Soviet cheese. This statue is located at the entrance of the Druzhba factory which produces this cottage cheese. This statue is fucking amazing. The rest of his statues suck. What do you think about this statue? It sucks, too. It's not a statue. It's a 3D picture. People print pictures on gravestones now. This is bad. There is no form or and no plot in this statue. This is just a bronze photo. It's not a work of art. This is a soldier in Donetsk with some kid.. This is a soldier in Simferopol. 'The polite men' There must be a cat next to them.. There is dog. A dog? There is a dog between the girl and the soldier. I thought that there was a cat between them. It's a famous picture. It is a cat, yes. I'm sorry. I have the same toy. A soldier with a cat. This image has become a meme now. I like it but there is zero creativeness. I will never change my mind about it. We're now at this point..Try to compare the money and the notebooks from the past.. Until 1957 when Khrushchev started fighting the overkill. Compare them to the Russian Empire money. Take a look at the diplomas that they had. Were they pretty? They were amazing! I want to be a part of this civilization! I want to join their world Now we live in Albania. It's shit. There used to be less technology.. Artists used to work on design. They were educated artists. They had a great taste and they would travel around Italy for five years to study its beauty. There was a council that would only trust the professional artists. Nowadays a head of corporation picked his favorite sculptor and paid him for a shitty statue. He's got no idea if this statue was good or bad. This is our life now. We can have statues but we need to choose better sculptors, big artists. You said that people who made this statue were assholes.. Assholes found a picture of the machine gun on Google.. Doesn't the sculptor draw the statue? There's a hundred people working in the office..Some apprentice was told to find the drawing of the Kalashnikov machine gun. They googled it and found some random picture.. Isn't the sculptor responsible for his office? He should be ashamed. I would be ashamed if I made a statue that my apprentice fucked up. I also double check. It looks like you insulted the sculptor and now you are backing down. Do you want me to insult someone directly? You've done this already. You didn't mention any names, though. It is a very convenient approach..You're not calling any names. I left my professional opinion about their creative choices. I did not mean to say that the sculptor sucked. I'm sure that he's a nice person. However, he's making poor statues. His team picks random pictures from the Internet before making the statues. They put a statue on Belorusskiy railway station and they made the same mistake with machine guns. They had to fix this overnight. We're now in the era of amateurs. This is very relevant for design. I care about this a lot. I don't care about the politics or the military clans or who likes to fuck in the butt.. I don't give a shit about private life or money. If I see a poorly designed product - I say it out loud. If I see a tilt in the inscription of Kuznetskiy Most metro station, I say it. This is my job and the war doesn't have to do anything with it. Can you name top three statues in Russia? Top three statues? Your favorite ones. Pushkin's statue at Pushkin square. Definitely. This statue is outstanding. It's a classic. It's been there for two hundred years. Gogol. At the boulevard? The boulevard one is alright, too, but I like the one next to his museum more. The one where he's sitting on a chair. And the Alexander column in Saint Petersburg. Patriarch Kirill came to the opening ceremony of Prince Vladimir statue. In 2023 you said: 'Russian Orthodox Church is a soulless bureaucracy that has nothing to do with God.' 'It is ruled by the Patriarch, the least admired person in the country. Nobody respects him.' 'Every time I listen to him I want to throw up and never hear from him again' Yes. Why do you want to throw up when you see the Patriarch? I might be very wrong on what religion is about.. This is my opinion. I know what Orthodox Christianity in Bulgaria, Georgia, and probably, Montenegro is like. And Greece, too. When I come to a church I feel nice. I feel some kind of connection. It doesn't happen in Russia. Modern Russian churches are as soulless as these new statues. These churches are ordered and built by amateurs. They make professional architects build shitty churches. The only great modern church is the Armed Forces Cathedral. This cathedral is very impressive. Is this the cathedral where they had Stalin on their murals? They used to have them.. These are removed now. And Putin and Shoigu, too. It looks like a cathedral in India. There is a big statue of Christ. How did Stalin and Putin get there? By mistake? I don't have any problem with them. The sponsors were always depicted on the walls. There's nothing to talk about here.. The rest of cathedral have domes made of foil.. Blue or golden foil..They all look generic and soulless.. An icon should make you feel cathartic. You should feel the energy. Most of the times you would that modern icons were drawn with no passion. They're plastic. Patriarch is the embodiment of this lame approach. I don't see him being interesting for me. His words don't mean a thing. I might be wrong..I would like him to be like Diogenes and come out of his barrel once a year. He's an official who drives a Mercedes and has a foldable cross. Why would I admire him? He claims to have some connection with God.. I don't think that he's closer to God than me. We're similar. He's fucked up. I respect Pope more than I respect Kirill. And Dalai Lama, too. Why does Putin like him? How do I know? Have you thought about it? I haven't. I think I know the answer. It doesn't matter what Putin really likes. Recently someone wrote that Putin and Berlusconi ate a deer's heart. They had this news in Italy. Berlusconi said that he saw Putin eat a deer's heart. Berlusconi is dead now but this is what his assistant said. We will never learn what Putin really likes. It doesn't matter. Putin is a very private person and I get it. I'm a private person, too. I agree with him on being private. Sometimes he has to be friends with the Patriarch. He's a politician and he does what's best for his ratings. He benefits from it. He does. Do you think that the Patriarch believes in God? I have no idea. I think he does. He's been in this position for so many years. I'm sure that he believes in God. He has no other choice. Only God could get him where he is. He wouldn't be where he is if it wasn't for God. Do you think Putin believes in God? Of course, he does. He believes in some kind of God. We don't really know what kind of god.. Shit, is this Putin? He reincarnated into a fly.. He's still alive. He wants to tell us something. We will never learn the truth.. Politicians don't like telling the truth, they have other tools. Any praising of the officials is the most banal thing on Earth. It starts with flattery and leads to something bigger. 'The boss is always right' Then we're making portraits and statues. Then we rename our streets after them. Then we rename the cities. There's no limit. People seek security. Praising your boss is the safest way to security. This is what you wrote on your Telegram. You didn't mention any names in this text. How close do you think Putin and his entourage are to becoming a cult? I don't know how much they praise each other. Judging from what we know. A personality cult is very common in our culture. This is why we had Stalin. We named everything after him. Stalingrad, Stalin's award..He was a living God. He never stopped this from happening. I think that Putin stops this cult from growing. Do you think he stops them from licking his ass? He selflessly stops them. The named a street after him in Grozny.. There are no more Putin streets in Russia. There is a Putin's street in Palestine, though. They didn't know that he doesn't like this kind of stuff. Do you see his portraits anywhere? Only in Chechnya. A lot of officials have his portraits in their offices. I'm not talking about their offices. American officials also have pictures of their president in courts and police stations..Even in the airports. In public places? Yes. You would always see a picture of the president and the vice-president in an American airport. Even if it's Trump. They hate him but have to have this picture. We don't have pictures of Putin in public places. We don't have these anywhere but in authorities offices. Putin's speeches are aired live on big screens now. This is different. What is different? This is not a cult of personality. What is this? This is information. They don't air any football matches on these screens. They don't air the world cup. And you know why. The copyright.. Copyright? You have to pay for the copyright to air the World Cup. This is now how this works.. Come on! We used to have fan-zones where they aired football. This is different from airing matches in the streets. We used to have fan-zones in Vorobyovy Gory or Manezhnaya square..There were no copyright issues. This was most likely a part of the agreement. They aired Putin's speech on a hotel at Yugo-Zapadnaya. I feel like there is no cult of personality in Russia. I've been to Syria.. They have pictures of al-Assad everywhere. All Arab countries have pictures of their leader everywhere. They can't have pictures of their God.. They replace him with their leader. This is common in Arab countries. In Egypt they have pictures of their president in butcher shops. They have to do it. This is not the case in Russia. Some people have pictures of Putin as a joke..We can tell that they are not being serious. Don't you feel like justifying something by Russian mindset is a weak argument? I don't justify.. Explaining something by our mindset.. You do this a lot. I do this a lot because I've noticed it at some point.. And it allows you to justify anything. Explain, not justify. This is different. We consider ourselves to be European..in fact we are Asian. In the mirror we look European..Our hardware is Asian, though. In Asia we don't feel comfortable, though. Asians think that we are Europeans. We are not treated as equals in Asia. Chinese people are very proud. We're barbarians for them. In Switzerland we are barbarians, too. It turns out that we are stuck between two civilizations. We must be enjoying our uniqueness and taking care of our culture and our language.. We must say - feel free to come to our country but we don't give a fuck if you don't come. This could be our mindset. I agree with you that we have unique culture.. This is what you said about our mindset: Correct me if I'm wrong. In 2019 you told Irina Shikhman that we needed a tsar. You said that Eastern European countries all need a tsar. Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan.. You said that Nazarbaev's heir wasn't a real leader..It turned out that you were wrong. Shikhman asked you: what about Ukraine? And you replied that Ukraine was different. She asked you if Ukrainians were any different from us. And you said they were different because they were influenced by Poland. Four years later you said:'Russians and Ukrainians are similar.' 'Similar ethnicities with different ideologies' So what version is right? I feel like these versions contradict each other. Are we going to talk about all the contradictions in my words? I'm not trying to catch you.. Well, I'm controversial. I can say one thing in the morning and change my mind by the evening. It is fine to change your opinion depending on the context and on your mood. It is okay to change your opinion. This is healthy. I feel like people should explain why they changed their mind. However..I brought up this example because you never explained why you changed your mind about the Ukrainians. Can you explain? I'm glad that you accept the nature of changing one's mind. Our views evolve with time. Absolutely. They evolve for a million different reasons. Why do I change my mind? Because of new information. I get older and get smarter. I get wiser and I'm still getting better. And the context changes. A war is a big change in the context. People change their attitude at the war. Why do they start wars? 80% of Ukrainians are similar to Russians. I'm not trying to make them join Russia and pay taxes in Russia. I don't really care about it. How does a house entrance look like in Kyiv? It looks exactly like an entrance in Moscow. A metal door painted in shitty brown paint..Same ugly plastic windows.. Same ignorance of architecture..Same satellite dished on facades.. Didn't you know this in 2019? In 2019 you said that we were different ethnicities. You had your Ukrainian office.. You had lived in Ukraine for a long time and you were a big fan of Odessa.. Didn't you know this in 2019? They are willing to die for their ideology. This is what has changed. This is weird for me. Why would you die for your ideology when you can continue to live with your opinion? It's okay to have different opinions and we shouldn't be killing each other because of it. Ukrainian people were put in a different context and they were told that they were different from Russians. Can you imagine Vologda fighting Novgorod? Just because someone told them that they were different. This is what happened in Ukraine. They blew up like a Coke bottle that had been shaken a lot. Are you surprised that Ukrainians are defending Kyiv? Are you surprised that they are killing the invaders? We are the same nation. What if a blue-haired designer tries to rob you? Wouldn't you kill him to survive? I don't want to kill anyone. Wouldn't you kill to survive? This is the only chance to protect yourself and your family. Yes or no? Yes, I would do it. This is what they are doing now. They don't want anyone to invade their country. And we would do the same. So? We have lost our connection with them twenty or thirty years ago. We should have used soft power to stay in touch with Ukraine. The US managed to win with their soft power. Ukrainian kids are learning English now in the kindergartens. This is fucked up. This is so silly. In 2019 you didn't know something that you learnt by 2023, right? Of course, I didn't. Did you know that? In 2019 you didn't know that they were willing to kill for ideology. I have just proved you that they were killing to survive. They got attacked and they had to kill to survive. Is this something that you discovered in 2023? You said that you would do the same. You described what happened and I'm trying to understand why it happened. I was talking about the mindset. Why is this happening now in Ukraine? Wait a second. You explained it by their mindset. I have just proven you that you views have changed despite not getting any new information. The only thing that has changed is the context. It's no longer acceptable for you to say that Ukrainians are different from Russians. We're much closer than some of the ethnicities inside of Russia. We have a lot of very different ethnicities in our country. They believe in different gods. Unlike Ukrainians. We're much closer to Ukrainians than to the people of Chukotka. We have the same jokes and the same fairytales. Ukraine got isolated from Russia and got brainwashed. They were opposed to Russia. This is a crime. America bought them. This is how I see it. I might be a Duginist or a Putinist.. I studied history before 2022 and this is what I think. I'm expecting a Polish intervention. I'm not making any forecasts since the pandemic. It turned out that I was pretty bad at predictions. Anything can happen but I feel like there will be an intervention. You told Manucci that Soviet Union was an unpleasant country for liberal people. There was less freedom in the Soviet Union than in the Islamic countries, you said. What did you mean by this? The Soviet regime was not nice. Worse than Islam? What did you mean? In comparison with Iran, where Islam is a state religion.. Iran is as lame as the Soviet Union. Iranians are cool and they are wearing mini-skirts at home..They like to drink.. They have to wear hijabs in the streets. What about Tatarstan? Is it as bad as Iran? Of course, it's not. Turkey, for example, is a secular state. I felt like you were talking about Islam in general. 'This is worse than Islam' Their country is called Islamic Republic of Iran. Turkey is a secular state. So? Turkish people are Muslim. Their government is separated from religion. Tatarstan is a secular state. You have no problems with Islam, don't you? I was talking about Iran. I have no problems with religions. I'm not scared of Muslims. In 2019 you addressed Ramzan Kadyrov saying that 'you can't gain respect with power. You can only make people scared with your power' 'Think about it when you are representing your people. Keep your dogs on a leash, please' 'Hugs, bro' Did you get any response to this publication? I apologized. Four years later? When I met him in person. In 2023 you apologized to Ramzan Kadyrov. Can you tell us what you apologized for? Didn't it happen in 2024? When did you start working for VK? In 2023? Yes. So this happened in 2023 then. It's been a year already.. We took part in a tender of Grozny renovation. This project took us six months to do. We came to Grozny to present the project to the authorities. I met Kadyrov in person because this was a very important project. We took the second place, which was quite honorable. There were many contestants. I talked to Ramzan Kadyrov in person and decided to apologize. I apologized on Telegram and my other platforms. Did he ask you to do it? He did. What did he say? He asked me what I meant. Was he being serious about it? I feel like he was neutral. Not too serious, not too funny. He's a tsar. He met a designer who talked shit about him. He asked this designer what he meant. I don't have any problems with him as a person. I have problems with his style of management.. In my text I talked about people who forced others to apologize for their critique of Kadyrov. Some random students took the monopoly on violence away from the state. This is what I considered wrong. I told him to keep his dogs on a leash. He can tell them to stop. He's very good at it. In the end, you had to apologize, too. Yes. How did you feel about it? This is ironic. Ironic? Didn't this hurt you? It did not. This is how I live my life. I treat everything with irony. Had they impaled me I wouldn't be so ironic about it. What kind of impression did Kadyrov make on you? He's powerful. He's a very energetic person, a big figure. He's not a basic guy. Some famous people are very basic, like me and you. Are you talking about the heads of Russian regions? Heads of regions and so on.. Most of them are very simple, like you and me. Kadyrov is different. This might be a part of Caucasian mindset. Have you watched the documentary that Project made about him? I started watching it.. What do you think about it? This video is getting a few million views. What about the content of the video? I don't think anything about it. Did they say anything new? Did you think about meeting him in person not long before the video came out? You apologized to this person. I'm fine with this. I apologized to Navalny, too, by the way. I'm not ashamed of it. I didn't say that you should be ashamed of your apologies. I felt like the apologies were embarrassing for you. Please, stop it. Stop! I disagree with you. Unlike your classmates who criticized you for apologizing.. I can tell that you watched my interviews. I'm not as smart as your classmates but I don't judge you for getting in this situation. I don't want to blame the victim. I'm just curious. Okay. Are you still in touch with Kadyrov? Do you have his number? I don't. You contacted him through his assistants? We're not friends. When you reacted to the Vera Polozkova interview you said:'Vera liked me for being daring and I've never changed' 'I'm still indomitable. No fucking pandemic and no fucking war, no fucking politics and no fucking problems can change it' 'We're not a unicorn country. I haven't changed a bit.' I'm feeling sorry for you. I'm curious to hear what you think. Did Ramzan Kadyrov break you when he made you apologize? No, this is a private problem. What is so private about it? This is our private relationship. Before meeting him.. Your apology was public, not private. I met him in person..The presentation of our project was being filmed.. There were ten cameramen in the room. And then I met him in person. This was a private conversation. As soon as I found out that he cared about my words and he got offended by them.. I apologized to clean up my karma. He had 158 opportunities to send his assassins and to make me apologize in front of a camera. I would apologize for an hour. He didn't do that. He didn't send any of his guys to poison me or to kill me. I feel like he's got hundreds of them. He doesn't even have to ask them. These people just stick the soldering iron into your ass. I talked to him in person and made the decision to apologize. You don't have to believe me.. He could have taken revenge on me much earlier. He could have called me or texted me. They all use What'sApp and Telegram. They have zero problems with communication. We spoke like two men. You can say that my apologies reminded you of other apologies..When people were forced to apologize.. This is not the case. You don't have to believe me. Same with Navalny. I offended him at the debates. I apologized for offending him later. He got offended by my words. Sometimes I'm being too rude. A lot of people are offended by me. You did care about him. I would never insult people that I have met in person. You might say that I insulted you.. You didn't. I'm trying to be objective. When you're talking about people who left Russia you say that they are all the same, which is not true.. You like to say that Russia is a very safe country. It is. Russia is in fact safer than most of the countries.. But how can you feel safe when the head of Chechnya can send his assassins to kill you? It's a great question! We know that it's true and nobody cares about it. I can give you another example. Tinkov..Some bloggers shot a parody on him.. Nemagia. Nemagia teased Tinkov. And he tried to punish them. He's not an official. He's just a banker who paid the police to arrest these guys. This was a terrible situation. He claims that he didn't bribe anyone. We don't know if he did..This is a fucked up situation.. His assistant bribed the police, okay. You don't need no prove me wrong. I haven't met him for years after this case. You don't have to defend him. He wasn't a head of a region and yet he had enough power to punish these guys. This is how it works in every country. Some people would punch you in the face because the don't like you. People are sometimes aggressive. It doesn't have to do anything with me. You said that Russia was a safe place. If meet in an emergency room you would think that everyone is Russia in injured. There are injured people in the emergency room. In general, Russia is a safe place. Do you know any other civilized country where a head of a region has got assassins? Any other big country. The US. Can you give an example? Who did this? Has a head of state sent his assassins or poisoned anyone? You don't know about such cases. I don't know? I'm not following their news reports.. From your videos I felt like you were following the US news carefully. It's a big country, they have 333 million people in population. There's a lot of news in the US. You can get killed in the US for no reason. This is true. Their cops are killing a thousand people a year. Biden's son managed to escape prison despite being a paedo.. He's a drug dealer and a gun dealer..He stole money from Ukraine.. Trump had a fight with Zelensky because of Biden's son. Zelensky bet on Biden after a call from the Democratic Party.. Are there any criminal cases against children of Russian politicians? Are there any criminal cases against former presidents? The opinion that a senator's kid is protected from prosecution is very childish. Are you aware of any criminal cases against politician's kids? In Russia? Yes. I'm not following such cases. Have you ever seen a politician as big as Biden get prosecuted in Russia? What about Belykh? Whose son is he? What do you mean? You said that Biden's son escaped prison.. The president's son escape prison. Do you know about any Russia politician's children being prosecuted? Being prosecuted in court? Are you aware of any criminal cases? And then they would escape the sentence? Are you aware of any such cases? You know that this case was.. Fake? He lied at a gun shop. They tried to distract everyone from his other crimes. In any other family this would be a huge scandal. If this was Trump's son they would put him in prison. You don't like speaking about your private life. However, this year you said that the court didn't recognize your prenup. It didn't happen. You'll tell us what happened. 'It doesn't matter what you write in your prenup. You felt like you owned your plants and now your spouse takes a half of it' What happened to you? I'm not sharing any details to protect my family. My kids and my ex-wife. I would never talk about them in public. I'm an emotional person and it's easy to annoy me. I like to warn others about the dangers that they might face. Luckily, I didn't have to activate my prenup.. I learnt a lot of stuff about Russian courts. My lawyer would go to the court for me. I would only show up when they called me. Twice in 1.5 years. Court cases are very complicated. I just shut my mouth and said let it be. My lawyer did everything for me. I'm not going to share any details of the case. When prenups were invented in 2013 or 2012.. Were there no prenups before 2012? No. We copied it from the US. Just like we did with the foreign agents. Okay, we copied it from Europe. Our laws are vastly different from the American laws. You had to mention it. We have sex differently. It turned out that a prenup could be nullified just like any other agreement. If the agreement is illegal it can be nullified. Some women complained that their husbands took everything from them.. They suggested to nullify the prenup. You can't pay your ex-wife and ask her to leave you alone. In the US you can pay her a million. You won't have to give her the whole billion. In Russia the prenup would be nullified and you will have a default agreement where you share half of your assets with her. 50/50. An agreement issued by the state. It's worse than 50/50. Why worse? Because the kids would usually stay with their mother. This is unfair. The wealthier spouse would suffer from divorce. Sometimes a husband robs his wealthy wife. This is unfair but nobody cares. The prenup can be nullified and most of us don't know about it. We think that the prenup protects our assets from the divorce.. And then our ex-spouse takes a half of our assets. If you're a wealthy person and you own all the airports or all the woods in the country.. You have to give up some of your property when you are getting divorced. You can give her a small apartment in Birulevo and this would be enough. This rule might change in the future.. If you haven't bought her any other property, this might work in 50% of the cases. Does this depend on the judge? Of course, it does. It depends on what the judge decides. Judges use their own perception of justice to rule out verdicts. It is usually 50/50. In half of the cases the prenup can be nullified. A lot of people were surprised when I shared this fact. How did your divorce end up? We made peace. You managed to figure it out. We did. Thank god. This is the best outcome. How much do you think the mother of six should get after a divorce? I have ten kids that I have to provide. My kids all get equal shares. I'm believe that I need to buy a flat for each of my kids. A flat for each? Yes. I need to make enough money to buy them a flat. How many flats have you bought them already? A couple. A couple? You don't like talking about your kids.. They can all become public and talk about their lives. You've never talked about your wife. Zero information. Is it true that the only information that you shared about your wife was that you got divorced? Our prenup wasn't nullified. We made peace. We made an agreement. It looked like.. It doesn't matter what it looked like..You won't be able to learn anything about my private life from my publications. I'm asking you about it.. Luckily, we made peace. A court case is a war. I don't like fighting. A peaceful agreement is the best way to settle it down. In our last interview I asked you about looking for wife publication.. You said that this was a joke. And you've posted this publication again after getting divorced. Is this a joke too? I posted the first publication two weeks before our wedding. I wrote this before getting married.. You had some kids already.. We did. And after we got divorced I I posted this once again. It's a circle of life. Were you looking for a girlfriend now? I was. Did you meet your current girlfriend after this publication? I did. Really? Really. What did this conversation look like? Did you like her picture or did you like her email? I liked her email. This is now the first time that I'm looking for a person. A partner is also a position. The cover letter matters a lot. I met a lot of women.. Who contacted you? Yes. This is fine. I got lucky and I found my love. It's funny that we met online. Is she much younger than you? She is younger than me. She is 25. No comments. I want to have at least five more kids, you wrote. Is this a joke or are you serious? This is a task. Is it? I want more kids. I don't have any grandchildren yet, unfortunately. My kids are too busy to have kids, I guess. They are enjoying their youth. I feel like I want to have more kids to raise. I feel like I've settled down and become wiser. I can be a good father now and spend more time with my kids than I did before. I've traveled all around the world. My career is doing well. I know where I'm going. I have a hobby - making videos for VK. I'm much calmer now. A couple of weeks ago Zhenya Berkovich and Svetlana Petriychuk were sentenced to 6.5 years of prison for justification of terrorism in a play. What do you think about this sentence? I tried to find the reason why they got sentenced. The play was definitely not a problem. They got awarded for this play. Did you watch the play? I did. What do you think about it? I feel like there is hardly any justification of terrorism in the play. However, I wanted to find out what was wrong with these women.. A lot of Russian directors don't support the war and they are not imprisoned. I'm not imprisoned. Don't you support the war? I don't. You don't? You're wishing to win Odessa. I want to have a flight to Odessa. I don't care about anything else. I don't want anyone to get killed. Let's go back and quote Artemy once again. Is this an anti-war statement? 'Russian troops are winning back Russian land that was granted to Ukraine by mistake.' 'Ukraine decided to get rid of Russians.' 'I wish our troops to advance a little bit more and capture Odessa' I think that Berkovich's poems are the problem. She wrote a poem about a kid and his grandfather. 'Please don't write anything about me..' 'Don't defeat anyone in my name. Don't defeat anyone at all' I feel like they went to prison for this poem. Do you think that this is fair? I don't think that this is fair. I'm not as sensitive. I feel like it's a terrible poem. She doesn't like her country. How can she wish her country not to win? This is very weird.. What if this is her opinion? She can have this opinion. I feel like this is not good. This is your opinion, okay. Does she deserve to go to prison for 6.5 years? You like sports. How can you now wish to win in sports? How can a football fan not care about winning? The majority of football fans enjoy the whole process. And many people support the weaker side. The weaker teams lose most of their games and they still have fans. They don't wish their team to lose. 'Don't defeat anyone in my name. Don't defeat anyone at all' Can you imagine watching football and not wishing your team to win? Can you send a person to prison for six years for this opinion? You can't. But you can kick the person out of the pub. You said:'Do you wish your country to lose? You'll have six years to think about it' This is how I see it. I feel like she got punished for the poem. Do you think that it is fair? I don't like prisons. I don't know why people are being sent to prison for their words.. This happens everywhere in the world. Six years is a lot. This is very sad. I don't know why the judge made this decision. If we ask the prisoner what they did - some of them were sentenced to ten years of prison for possessing two grams of marijuana. This is unfair, too. Nobody asks me about my opinion. The world is quite unfair. It is unfair. The world is cruel. I felt like you agreed with the sentence when I watched your video. I did not. Okay. I was just trying to understand what happened. I get it now. What did Petriychuk was imprisoned for? She didn't write the poem. What did she do wrong? I don't know. They worked together.. Worked on what? Worked on the poem? I don't know what she did. 'A lot of guys don't understand what Berkovich and Petriychuk were arrested for' And then you talked about the poem.. Berkovich wrote the poem, right? She did. Okay. What did Petriychuk do wrong? I have no idea. Is this fair? I don't know. You had this violent theory that made some sense.. This is horrible and you don't support this.. This theory only relates to Berkovich. What about Petriychuk? I guess someone got mad at Berkovich for her poem. Then they watched the play where she supposedly defended ISIS.. And then the authors of the play were sent to prison. This is the logic that I saw behind this case. Was it fair? Time will tell. You don't know whether it was fair or not. I don't know what the goal of the state is. The war is a special condition for the state. We're not the only country at war. Every fighting country cares about the morals and the public opinion. There is always censorship during the war. Why don't you have an opinion this time? You said that Mizulina was wrong for attacking creative people. I think that at the times of war nobody can wish defeat for their country. This is the worst thing that can happen to us. Mizulina says that we can't have fun during the war and doubt our government. She says the same stuff. She doesn't have any power to make such decisions. Only authorities can make such decisions. Her logic is the same. She's trying to be cautious during the war. Her opinion doesn't matter. Whose opinion matters in this case? The authorities' who investigated this case. Where is the logic? We're not talking about a public figure that got mad at them. I feel like they offended some veterans..How can you wish not to win during the war? I recommend you to read the book called The Russian Way of Management by Alexander Prokhorov. This books describes how the management works in Russia. There should always be one case that would set the rules for everyone. You don't have to put a hundred people in prison. You can put one person in prison to prove your point. And yet you don't know what exactly they did wrong. I haven't read the case.. They supposedly justified terrorism in their play. There is no mention of any poems in the case. I feel like you messed everything up. I feel like I explained you what happened in reality. I don't care what the court said. You said you didn't know if this was fair or not. Meanwhile you said that you disliked Mizulina. You didn't tell me what makes Mizulina different from this case. The difference is that there should be some morals during the war. Mizulina represents these morals, too. This is her personal opinion. Let's stop here. Mizulina is not an official. Okay, I get it. Mizulina and Milonov have no power. Milonov is a showman. Here is what this looks like. They directed a successful play that everyone was happy about. They won the awards for the play and later the context changed. In 2023 their play became illegal. Yes. Aren't you scared..I don't wish this to happen to you.. I suffer from it, too. Aren't you scared of similar stuff happening to you when these people go through your old publications? They would be shocked when they read your review of his trip with the icon. You wrote that he put the icon next to him like a girl. These people with their crazy morals might go after you, too. Aren't you scared of this? There is a shadow behind your back that looks like a prison cell. This is so beautiful. The grid? Yes. It looks like we're in a cell. I hope this doesn't happen to me. And to me, neither. This looks theatrical. I didn't mean it. I'm not scared. I know that this can happen to me. Someone said that Russia is a country with unpredictable past. We can never know what might happen next. This has started happening to me, too. I'm deleting some of my old publications now. Our studio made a comic book on different ways to commit suicide. A clown comes up to a Chechen with a gun and on the next slide the clown is dead. This was a funny comic book. We were asked to delete this comic book because it described ways to commit a suicide. This is so dumb. There are no actual ways to do it in the book! We used irony to stop people from committing suicide. I don't what else they would make me delete. How does this make you feel? It motivates me. Does it? It does. If there was one particular issue I would try to avoid it. The problem is that the whole world is crazy now. You can't hide anymore. You're going to face this madness wherever you go. Are you saying that this doesn't only happen in Russia? Yes, of course. Can you give any examples of a similar case in other countries? Where did two accomplished directors go to prison for their play? I'm not a reporter, I can't bring up such a case. Similar cases are happening in France, Canada, the US, and the UK. I don't know what is going on in Australia and New Zealand.. They won't let us say anything about their aborigines. They even banned the word aborigine. We're now facing this global madness. There is probably a redistribution of resources or some new ethics.. Things are heating up and we need a war to cool down. I'm not an expert in ethnogenesis to explain what is going on. I feel like we're sitting in an emergency room where everyone is injured. Stop. Stop. This is important. You said that I blamed the whole Russia for sending Petriychuk to prison. I have this impression. It is not true. You can leave it for fake liberals. You can't tell me that I've blamed our country in the last 2.5 years that I've lived outside of Russia. I never called our country bad. I never generalized. I only talk about real problems. Before I left Russia I praised it and showed it amazing potential. Even though there were some problems that stopped the progress. They didn't stop the progress. I haven't changed. I am still talking about these problems. This is very important to me. You keep saying this and I got sick of it. It is unfair to people like me. You listened to some crazy liberal speaker who said that Russia should collapse.. And decided that other anti-war speakers agreed with them. This is not true. This is an incorrect generalization. You are a smart man and you shouldn't be doing this. For some reason you are doing it. You taught me that Russia was fucking great. This is true. I needed to hear that. I was too busy and wasn't paying enough attention to Russia. I was too busy with my career and my family. When you said that Russia was great.. Go fuck yourself! You made me think about it. This is Putin. He won't let us talk. Leave. Grandpa, leave. You don't say these words anymore. What words? Russia is fucking great. Russia is still fucking great. I noticed this.. Vladimir Vladimirovich, please fly away. I looked around and noticed that Russia was indeed great. When this war started we weren't ready for it. I decided to become the ambassador of Russia. I would tell everyone why Russia is a great and safe country. Yes, there is a disaster going on. It's like a volcano eruption. Don't stand close to lava. There is other stuff to do. Russia is a huge country with a lot of people and a lot of opportunities. Is a newborn child to blame for being born in Russia? He's not. This child wouldn't be able to open a bank account in Europe. His passport is wrong. They taught us to be tolerant but it turned out to be bullshit. Everything that Russian propaganda lied to us about turned out to be true. Are you trying to prove me.. That Russia is still fucking great. This is still true. Wait a second. I didn't want to talk to about it.. I disagree with you on many topics but I can't deny that you are a smart guy. This is why I can't accept you using such rhetoric. You're just throwing allegations at a person. Do you think that I no longer love Russia because I stopped saying that Russia is fucking great while it's bombing another country? This is the only thing that has changed. I'm still sharing storied of great Russians. Saluki released an amazing record and I shared it. A guy from Yekaterinburg is playing metal shows in the US now. He didn't move to the US forever. He's a Russian guy who tours around the US now. I found out about San Donato station in Sverdlovsk region and shared this story. I shared the story of an artist from Saratov who dreams of making Saint Petersburg the center of contemporary arts. She told me her dream would come true. If you are trying to tell me that I no longer love Russia - you are wrong. I wasn't trying to say this. Let's hear what people would say in the comments. From your videos I felt like you started making videos with nonames. Your guests are no longer interesting to me. This is your opinion. It is. Sometimes there are exceptions. I really like the interview with Lankov. He's an amazing man. He is a very interesting person. He's a great man. It turned out that North Korea was different from what you thought it was. This is great. We studied this country together and he convinced me.. I still disagree with him on some aspects.. And he thanked Stalin for upward mobility. I guess, this surprised you. I liked this vintage Dud interview. What does this have to do with my attitude towards Russia? I never asked you about your attitude. My attitude hasn't changed. You said that all anti-war speakers no longer love Russia. You said that I didn't support the war and threw my love towards Russia out of the window. This is a lie. This is a lie. And then you said that before the war I would only praise Russia. I would praise Russia and say that I wanted to spend the rest of my life in Russia.. But I would also show all the problems that we had in Russia, mostly because of the political system. Our political system is not that bad. It's not the best in the world. You lied twice in one statement. So I'm afraid you are wrong. I would be happy to be wrong.. Your YouTube channel has not been deleted yet.. You're going in the right direction.. Manucci's channel got deleted because he praised Russia. It seems like your model fits YouTube. I'm sure that people think that you no longer love Russia and you are now facing a decadence. Can you give any examples? This is my general impression. Do you feel this way? I do. You feel this way, and this is not a real conversation. I gave you examples of my publications about Russia. These were the first ones that came to my mind. I am not as prepared as you are. You said you feel this way but you can't give any examples. You've said this too many times during this interview. I can tell you why I feel this way. Your guests have very specific views. They are all liberals. They are very boring. They don't look very smart in their desire to say goodbye to Russia. They still have families and real estate in Russia. And they are still ashamed of Russia. This is a generalization. Artemy, this is such a big failure. Ashamed of Russia? Do you know who said this? Krasilshchik. Did I have him on my channel? You didn't. Did I say that I was ashamed of Russia? Which of my guests said they were ashamed of Russia? I only had a couple of such guests. I never agreed with them and never said that I was ashamed. This is an incorrect generalization that you are making. Thanks for teaching me how to watch your videos. I felt like your guests represented your point of view. You're not following my channel. They are lame. You can call them lame. I am fine with that. You don't like my channel and you don't have to watch it. We can all have an opinion. You haven't watched my videos and read some comments on Facebook.. I watch some of your interviews.. For some reason you like attacking liberals.. I don't have any theories on why you're doing it. You said that YouTube didn't delete my channel because I was appropriate for them.. We've talked for three hours straight already and I've never said that you were paid by Putin's office. Did you want to say it? I can't prove it. I'm just asking you questions. It's wrong to judge my channel without watching it. I'm watching your interviews. I'm following you on Instagram.. I'm subscribed to your Telegram channel..I got a spam message today, by the way.. Someone advertised a fake channel. Yes, some guys pretended to be you. I think you've seen it already. I'm watching your interviews on YouTube. In the last two years I get bored in five minutes when I'm watching your videos. You have a right to dislike them. I'm not trying to prove you that my videos are interesting. I'm only talking about the facts. You didn't bring up any facts. You didn't prove that I was ashamed of Russia and said I was no longer Russian. I can give you a fact. You are worried about Berkovich and Petriychuk. I am not worried about them. Do you know who else doesn't care about them? 147 million people. You care about this case because this is what Meduza, Mediazona, and Project says. Nobody in Russia gives a shit about them. I am sorry for them going to prison for six years. I don't wish anyone to go to prison. I can assure you that nobody cares about this case that was overhyped in the media. I'm sorry. I can reply. This case has continued for over a year. I've never talked about this case in my videos until today. You've just mentioned them. I mentioned them because I wanted to ask you about the verdict. They got punished for something that they did in the past and I asked you if you were scared of getting punished. I faced it, too. I didn't say that everyone cares about them. Talking about that everyone cares about is not my goal. All janitors are watching your channel. I'm glad. Three videos in a row and the workday is over. I never talked about the naked party or other scandals. I hope this never happens to you but I felt like you were in danger. If you feel like I've become more violent in the last few years - this is not true. I don't want to send anyone to prison. I don't want to kill anyone. Just in case. I never wish anyone anything bad. 'If you wish your country to lose - you will have six years to think about it.' Can you explain me why this quote is not violent? These are not my words. This is what the state told her. This should be used in quotations. This is not what I think. I felt like it was clear. You were cautious enough to learn about my problem with my classmates. Why didn't you understand that I was quoting a prosecutor or some other official representing the state.. This isn't my opinion. I don't send people to prison for directing plays. I don't report on anyone directing plays that I don't like. I don't do this kind of stuff. You're turning 50 next year. Where do you see yourself when you're 50? Nothing's gonna change. Are you going to celebrate your birthday? I haven't decided yet. I don't celebrate my birthdays usually. I celebrated my 40th birthday. Where do you see yourself when you're 60? I don't know yet. As a person. What do you think is going to change in the next ten years? What will you be doing in ten years? This disaster is going to end. People will forget about it. Everything will change and people will repent. Repent? Sure. People who were insulting others would say that they were deceived. I'm talking about Ukraine. I'm texting a lot of people from Ukraine. People who are willing to chat with me are quite unusual, I guess. I can't say that I know what every Ukrainian thinks. Some of them are quiet because they don't want to risk by chatting with me. Some people are not afraid. I know what they think. When this war will be over propaganda will explain to us what happened. We will find out that traitors were being executed. You don't care about them, do you? People who worked for Russia when their cities joined Russia.. After Russia left these cities these people were shot. You don't care about these people. You only care about the people who got six years of prison for their play. These people in Ukraine are no longer alive. They won't rise from their grave in six years. Everyone will forget about this war just like they did with Chechnya. Russia used to fight Chechnya and now we're fighting together in Ukraine. Everyone will forget about this war and all the families will be reunited. This happened after the civil war, the WWII. People always leave such disasters behind. I will be around sixty and people will no longer remember this war. People forget really quickly. There are very important things happening in Russia currently. Russia is finally investing into the economy. We built tourist destinations in Turkey, Egypt, and Montenegro.. Now we're spending money inside the country. We have higher standards of living now and I don't feel like Brezhnev's time is going to come back. We're doing great. Moscow has got better restaurants than Europe. Nobody pays me for this opinion. I really like eating out in Moscow. I just came back from England and Scotland. In Edinburg I went to a sushi restaurant with a great view.. The food sucked, though. Even Yakitoria is much better than this restaurant. You're so good at selling stuff. Are you hungry now? Is this something new? We've had great restaurant for many years. Some people would be surprised by it. People are going to unsubscribe from your channel after hearing that. Oh.. Someone has to notice the good stuff. You were asking me questions about my opinion that I stated on my news show. My show is valuable because I'm sharing the news without any hysteria. I'm talking about horrible things..Go fuck yourself! It won't leave me alone. Kremlin won't leave me. I have a calm voice. I can talk about anything, any topic. I can talk about anything. I'm not a reporter but I'm preparing for my videos. This show is just 5% of what I am. I have a big career. Next year my studio turns 30. This is a big accomplishment in our country, where nobody cares about design. I'm trying not to use this word at all. You said that people would repent after the war. Can you assume having to repent, too? I can't. Why would I repent? I don't know. My morals are great and not contradictory. They are evolving. You can ask me about things that I said five years ago, before the war and the pandemic.. I've grown up in these five years. When I talked to people who know you or who follow you they told me all kinds of stuff. Can I read you two messages regarding you that I received? Of course you can. 'Lebedev is similar to Zhirinovsky. He is fueled by fame. He is cynical, smart, and positive who likes his fame the most.' 'He likes fame more than he likes money.' Is that true? Not really. And another quote. 'Lebedev doesn't only change his opinion all the time. He attacks the weak but he's scared of attacking the powerful' 'He's trying to be original but he posts too much fake news pretending that this is his opinion' 'He is slowly turning into a violent man' How true is that? This is bullshit. And the final question: what is power? Ohms are power. Thank you.
