What is going on? Welcome to Gregles TV Daily. Hope you're having a fantastic day. Today's video was all about Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold versus Google Pixel 10 9 Pro Fold. Uh you might have the 9 Pro Fold and you're thinking about upgrading, should you upgrade to that phone or not? We're going to discuss that. I will say though, I think if you have the original Pixel Fold, I really think you should upgrade. I think there's definitely enough meat on the bone to upgrade for sure. So, let's get into this and talk about this spectospec. Now, the displays are very similar. 6.4 versus 6.3 and then 8 in uh across the board for both of them, but they are brighter displays on the 10 Pro Fold. 3000 nits versus 2700 nits. I'll admit it's not a huge difference. I would guess in day-to-day you're not going to notice it. Even on side by side, I don't think you'll notice a lot of difference. So, I would say if you're basing your facts off of upgrading because of the displays, I would say probably not. Now, the chipset inside Tenzor G5 versus G4, there is a pretty big jump in that. Um, neither one of these are crazy crazy powerful in terms of raw performance. You're basically going to go from probably medium type gaming to about mediumigh gaming, somewhere in that range. because of the jump from the G4 to the G5. Your phone probably still feels really good. But if you're someone that's looking to keep this one of these phones longer term, G5 for sure. So I would say maybe because of that. I'll go more in depth at the bottom, but uh security still the Titan M2 still getting 16 gigs of RAM. Storage gets a nice little upgrade. Now you're still getting 256 512 and 1 TBTE, but it's going to UFS 4.0 from 3.1. So readwrite speeds with your storage, copying files, uh editing, all that stuff is going to be improved. Now cameras, cameras are basically at least in terms of megapixels basically the same. Now you are getting a 10x optical zoom on the new camera system versus 5x on the older one. So that might turn you off just a little bit, but ultimately I think cameras probably the photos and videos probably look a little bit better on the 10 Pro Fold, but I don't think it's going to be anything drastic. The front cameras, dual 10 megapixels. Battery gets a nice little bump from 4650 to 5,15. So almost 400 more milliamps uh on the battery side. What's that going to equate out to? Probably well with the new processor I guess as well, you probably get even more better efficiencies. You might get multiple might get an hour or two more of battery life. But in just in terms of the battery size itself, um you'd probably that's probably 30 minutes 40 minutes of more battery life. But when you factor in the processor being more efficient and more powerful, it's probably going to equate to, I would guess, probably a fair bit amount more, a couple hours more. Charging, 30 watt wired and 15 watt wireless. Now, that's is an improvement on the wireless charging. It was 7.5, which is basically unusable unless you're charging overnight. It would take hours and hours and hours for that to charge. It's nice to see that you are getting 30 watts uh wired and then 15 watt on the wireless side with that GT and it's magnets in the back of the phone. That is excellent. So, I love that they're adding magnets into this phone. Um I wish Samsung would put them back. Um I know iPhones have it. It's just it's nice to have that without having to always get a case that has magnets in it. Durability now IP68. It was IPX8. So, it didn't have dust resistance. It had water resistance. Now, it has dust and water resistance. This is a great upgrade. If you're someone that works in a dusty environment, you're going to definitely want to upgrade. It's a huge reason to upgrade. The build is aerospace grade aluminum versus just regular aluminum. Are you going to notice a difference? Maybe, but I I I it's hard to put my money on that one and say you would. Now, connectivity, Wi-Fi 7 across the board. Bluetooth 5.4 versus 5.3. NFC USBC 3.2. So the UFC port might be a little bit faster this time around with transferring data and things like that. Dual SIM satellite SOS. Now Android 16, they both have Android 16. I wouldn't put any merit on that. And they also get 7 years of OS updates, but remember the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is a year older at this point. Now, the dimensions on these are going to be when it's folded, it is a little bit thinner and a little bit uh wider as well. So, keep that in mind or taller, I should say, tall, a little bit taller and a little bit thinner. The unfolded size now is going to be thinner, 5.8 versus 6.1. And it's also all the other dimensions are about the same on there on the unfolded size. weight. It's I believe it's less, but I I could have swore it was less, but from this graphic I have, it's saying it's about the same. Uh price, you're probably going to see a price increase due to tariffs and um the phone being a little bit better. It's potentially going to be $1899, but it might be $1799. So, I wouldn't worry too much about that. And plus, you can get a 9 Pro Fold for pretty cheap anyway. Uh much cheaper than you can a 10 Pro Fold. So, yeah. But upgrade, upgrade if you need the IP68 dust and water resistance, which again that's a big get, especially if you're in environments where it's dusty and uh you like to take it underwater. It had water resistance, but the dust resistance is a big get. It's the first ever foldable with dust resistance. IP68 anyway. Uh 30,000 nit brightness, so you might be better for outdoor viewing. Is it going to be a huge change? I would say no, but it is brighter. Faster, more efficient tenzer G5 processor. So, you should get better battery life and definitely much better performance. It's like going from like over 6,000 on the multi-core score up from about 4500 or so. And then you're also getting the faster UFSO UFS 4.0 storage. So, just overall performance should be a little bit more snappy, but it was already really snappy with the 9 Pro Fold. Bigger battery with G2 magnetic wireless charging. I love that having better battery life, but also having the wireless charging with the magnets built into it, especially if you don't like to use a case. It's awesome. Uh potentially better zoom with the 10x and 1 TBTE storage option uh is going to help out, but you had that before. Uh why you'd want to stick with the Pixel 9 Pro Fold if you're satisfied with current performance and camera. Um you don't need to upgrade. Those are big plays in this. And then also, you don't care about dust resistance or magnetic charging. Again, another reason to stick with there. And if you're also getting great performance in general, like when you use the phone, it feels fast and fluid and you don't need to upgrade that because you're just so happy with everything. That's another reason. And do you really want to pay 1,800 bucks or obviously you trade in you, it will be less, but do you really want to pay all that and potentially have to pay all that money out of pocket and you're at the end of the day you're like, you know what, this feels so much the same. and and physically you're not I don't think you're going to notice a lot of differences. That's another reason when people get these phones, they're like, "Oh, it doesn't feel that much different." You know, think about the iPhone year-over-year. It's pretty much the same. The Pixel, the Galaxy ZFold 7, I should say, was a pretty big difference. It was lighter. It's bigger displays. This is basically the same size displays. The brightness is very similar. The camera system is pretty much the same. The look of the phone is the same. There's not a whole lot of difference, but I would say at the end of the day, if the things that I mentioned are heavy to you, then yeah, you should probably upgrade. Phone launches tomorrow at the time of this video. Let me know what your thoughts are in the comments down below. Have a great day. We'll see you down the road. Peace. [Music]
