Biblical Foundations for Success and Prosperity

Not I can I hear amen Within the two sessions today, we shall by God's grace conclude our unfinished business regarding the seven biblical pillars of world creation That being at the back of the for quite a while now, and time is going. If it's not quickly put together, you'll discover that you have truths and have information. You don't have the whole picture. So if you will, this morning, please turn your Bible. me to Proverbs chapter 9 verse 1 to 6. We can meaningfully spend the first hour laying foundation and capturing all that we have learned. Proverbs chapter 9 verse 1 to 6. He reads and I quote, wisdom has built a house. She has hewn out as seven pillars. She has slaughtered a meat. she has mixed her wine she has also furnished her table she has sent out a maidens she cries out from the highest places of the city whoever is simple let him turn in here as for him who lacks understanding she says to him come eat of my bread and drink of the wine i have mixed for sick Take foolishness and leave. And go in the way. Of understanding. Maybe I should add to that. Isaiah 55. Verse 1 to 5, Isaiah 55, 1 to 5. O everyone who thirsts, come to the waters, and you who have no money, come. buy and eat. He has come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Only two things can be responsible for that. Number one, influence. Influence. You can acquire things without money, without price, because you have influence. And number two, because the price has been paid. Let's read further. Why do you spend money for what is not bread and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to me and eat what is good and let your soul delight itself in abundance. Nobody can help you because as a man thinks in his heart so easy. If your soul does not delight, you serve in abundance. If you like to manage and just scratch the barrel and sing your song, this world is not your own. You are just passing through. Your mansions are in heaven and you walk on the streets of gold. You are also welcome. Suffer here and enjoy there. But I have told you, I want all my rewards on the earth. And when I get to heaven, I want all my rewards in heaven. So I will fully live here, and I will fully live eternally. That's my own desire. How about you? Let's read further. Incline your ear and come to me, here and your soul shall live, and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, the sure mercies of David. God said, I brought David from obscurity into glory. prominence I can do same with you I will enter into the same covenant with you and what will happen indeed I've given him as a witness a model a prototype I've given him as a witness to the people a leader and commander for the people. Definition. Good success. Good success begins with a comprehension. Of your God given assignment. And it is a. accomplished when you fulfill same by the grace of God. Good success begins with a comprehension of your God given assignment and it is accomplished when you fulfill that assignment by the grace of God. You may succeed in other things if it's not your God given assignment you're still a failure. That was what Howard Carter said to the first graduating students of his Bible school. Howard Carter mentored Dr. Sumra. He looked at them on the graduation day and said to them, I'm not afraid that you succeed. My fear is you may succeed in the wrong things. Good success begins with a comprehension of your God-given assignment. And it is accomplished when you fulfill sin. By the grace of God. For those who have listened to the earlier teachings in this regard. Eliezer of Damascus. The chief steward of Abraham. And Joshua the son of Nun. Were two shining examples of true success. Genesis chapter 24. Verse 10 to 12. Genesis 24, 10 to 12. Then the servant took ten of his master's camels and departed, for all his master's goods were in his hand. And he arose and went to Mesopotamia, to the city of Nahor. And he made his camels kneel down outside. the city by a well of water at evening time, the time when women go out to draw water. Then he said, O Lord God of my master Abraham, please give me success this day and show kindness to my master Abraham. This is the first time the word success occurs in the Bible. What would you say about Eliezer of Damascus, in whose care are all the goals, the wealth, the riches of Abraham? Would you call him a failure? Would you call his master who sent him a failure? Now, so what success was he asking for here? He had been given an assignment. He had been spelled out. He knew what the assignment was. Not to take any daughter of Canaan for Isaac. But to go to Abram's people. And get one of the daughters of his people to be wife to his son Isaac. He had put his hands in the hands of his master. And had sworn an oath. Now he took ten camels. Some of them carrying gold. And. And some of them carrying other materials for what? To displace well for dowry. And he got to the place of well where young ladies would come to fetch water. He sat there, caused his animals to kneel. And himself you will see at the end of the day that he was in a bowing position to God Almighty. And pretty. prayer, give me success today. He understood his assignment, he's seeking grace to fulfill that assignment. Joshua was another clear shining example. Joshua chapter 1 verse 6 to 8. Joshua 1 6 to 8. Be strong and of good courage. For today's people you shall do what? Please talk to me. For today's people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Assignment is specified here. This is your assignment. Only be strong and very courageous that you may observe to do according to all the law which most is my servant commanded you do not turn from a to the right hand or to the left verse that you may prosper Wherever you go. Okay. Your assignment is clear. But it must be according to principles and law. You can't do it according to your own whims and caprice. Do you understand this? You have to follow God's will, God's word in carrying out that assignment. Now verse number 8. This book of the Lord shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Your way there is the word direct. And direct simply means a comprehension of your assignment. Do you understand this? So if you don't understand what your assignment is, you will do other people's business. You become a copycat. Do you understand? You'll be asking people, what is moving now? Because you are not moving. This is the moving line now. This is what is current. This is what people are doing. Is that your assignment? So good success begins with the comprehension of your God-given assignment and it is accomplished when you fulfill that assignment by the grace of God. True prosperity on the other hand... is having the presence of God in your life even as he causes you by his grace to make a success of your endeavors. I will repeat. True prosperity, on the other hand, is having the presence of God in your life, even as he causes you by his grace or as he enables you by his grace to make a success of your endeavors. That simply suggests something to anyone listening very attentively. You cannot separate good success from true prosperity. They are inseparable. They are conjoined twins. They are joined together. You cannot talk of true prosperity without clear evidence of good success in a person's life. And you cannot talk of good success without seeing the presence of God and the enabling grace to succeed in every endeavor committed to such person's hand. Genesis chapter 12, I'll return to 12 again and we'll see how true prosperity and good success are linked. And... Genesis chapter 24, verse 10 to 12 again. Genesis 24, 10 to 12. When Rebekah came and fulfilled everything that is is said to go before the baker showed up. And the man wondering at her remains silent so as to know whether the Lord had made his journey prosperous or not. What did he ask for at the beginning? Success. What is he receiving at the end? Prosperity. You can't separate them. You can't separate true prosperity from good success. They are inseparable. If it means man appears extremely wealthy, extremely powerful but you cannot recognize the presence of God in his life, that's not good success. The word good put before success is deliberate. Because there's a difference between the prosperity of the righteous and the prosperity of the wicked. Genesis 39 verse 1 Genesis 39, 1 to 6, you cannot separate true success or good success from true prosperity. Now Joseph had been... taken down to? I can't hear you. Joseph had been taken down to Egypt and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him. From the Ishmaelites. Who had taken him down there. So what was the status. Of Joseph at this time. A slave bought. Which means he had no rights anymore. In fact. More or less. The status was not of a chattel to be used. If any food was given to him. Is to have strength to continue to serve his master. the Lord was with Joseph and he was a successful man how do you tell the Pentecostal church that a slave can be successful because we have taught it we have taught prosperity success in terms of the house you live in your neighborhood the car you ride and the amount of money in your bank account you may be a glorified failure The Lord was with Joseph and he was a successful man and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian and his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made him made all he did to prosper in his hand you cannot separate good success from true prosperity the lord made all he did to prosper in his hand and if you read joshua 1 8 you will see that they are next to each other you make your ways prosperous and you have good success with those definitions on the back of your minds let us examine the seven biblical pillars of world creation I'm not boasting but I'm not sure there's any business school in the world with this type of curriculum as most of the lecturers in those business schools are secular humanists themselves you'll be the judge today as we go through the seven pillars especially those of you with MBA degrees from different business schools you need to show me the whole our teacher really taught us in business school that the pressure The presence of God is critical to prosperity. And understanding your God-given assignment is the number one foundation for good success. You will compare notes. Pillar number one. The presence of God. Pillar number one, what is that? The presence of God. And I want to teach this in a practical way so that it's not some smoke and some spooky feeling when we are walking. Worshipers say the Lord is present here. Thank God for such good feelings. But that's not what I'm talking about. Because if the presence of God is in your life, by his grace you'll be the same person in secret and in private. Whether it's worship time or eating time at a restaurant. Whether you are by the seaside or you are in classroom. Jehovah Shana. The Lord is present. You carry his presence everywhere. You are the new ark or the now ark that God is building on the face of the earth. Can I hear amen? Amen. I want you to think of the patriarchs and you find this significant first pillar in their lives. I'm not sure Abraham built anything beyond an altar and pitched his tent. And his altar probably was inside the house or next to his tent. So it could have been a conspicuous building where people would see him rise up early in the morning, in the afternoon, in the noon, in the evening, worshiping God and singing songs unto him. In fact... The first time the word worship was used, it was by Abraham. He said, I and the lad will go yonder and worship. There was no song, whether slow or fast. There was no hymn. There was no tambourine, no guitar, no musical instruments. And there was no choir. I and the Lord, we go yonder and worship, and afterward we'll come back to you. Was he clear as to what he was asked to go and do? Yes. How would he bring back his... son after he had offered him a burnt offering or his burnt offering Hebrews will explain to you he knew that God was able to raise him from the dead. If he was deceived and God had spoken about it God will raise him from the dead. That's the fate of risk takers. Who believe God absolutely. That he knows what he's saying. Look at the life of Abraham. I said, there is coming when somebody will say, the God who fought for Buhari, who is not a professed Christian, and who could fight for him against myriads of enemies like this. I am a Christian. How about Jacob? The third in line, Genesis 31, verse 38 to 42. Laban was pursuing him after he had left. Genesis 31, 38 to 42. These 20 years I have been with you. Your ews and your female goats have not been carried their young and have not eaten the ram of your flock. Can you imagine? He was walking with him and serving in his house. He said, I don't know. Don't eat from yours. I eat from mine. That which was done by beast. I did not bring to you. I bought the loss of it. You require it from my hand. Whether stolen by day. Or stolen by night. night. There I was in the day the draught consumed me and the frost by night. My sleep departed from my eyes. Those have been in your house 20 years. Taskmaster, those that have been with you in your house 20 years, I served you for 10 years for your two daughters and 6 years for your flock and you have changed my wages 10 times. If he was reviewing the wages upwards, there would be no point stating it. You have changed my wages ten times. Unless the God of my father, the God of Abraham. I don't want to peel any old wounds this morning. I told such people I'm a barrier breaker. They said, nobody ever lives here and prosper. I said, you will see. I'm a barrier breaker. I want you to rise upon your feet this morning. Stand to your feet. I want to bless you and I want you to receive it into your heart. May the good Lord make it evident to everyone that is with you. I repeat that prayer. May the God that I serve day and night, may the good God make it evident to everyone that He is with you. May He bless you in all that you do. May He do a great work in you for all to see. And may He receive all the glory and praise. May they testify. Now you are the blessed of the Lord. We are certain that God is with you. That will be your portion. In Jesus mighty name. Please be seated. Three other examples that we can add to the patriarchs are Joseph, Moses, and David. If you think the patriarchs are in the class of their own. They come in with God face to face. Let's check others who are not patriarchs, but in their own right, they are models of faith. Beginning with Joseph. We have read it in Genesis 39. It was the presence of God that distinguished him in Egypt. Both in Captain Potiphar's house and in prison. Genesis 39 once again. If you are not tired of reading with me. Genesis 39, 1 to 4. Now. Joseph, I like the word now. Anywhere I see it, it jumps at me. Leave me now. What did that mean? produced or what did that make available to a man who was brought down so joseph found favor in his sight and served him then he made him overseer of his house And all that he had, he put under his authority. Does that look like a man down? The presence of God made a difference. He was brought down there. But he became the overseer. And now, Mrs. Potiphar lied against him and was thrown into prison. Let's find out what happened to him in prison. Verse 20, Genesis 39 verse 20. Then Joseph's master took him and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were confined. There are prisons and there are prisons. and he was there in the prison but the lord was with joseph come on now the lord was with joseph and he gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's hand all the prisoners. All. The good, the bad, the ugly, the certified criminal. Whatever they did there, it was his doing. The keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under Joseph's authority. Why? Because the Lord was with him and whatever he did, the Lord made it prosper even in prison. Sorry somebody, you lost and missed the boat when you think money is prosperity. The blessings of the Lord makes rich. It does not add sorrow to it. You can be rich and not blessed. Moses, another example. Moses was so sure about the significance of God's presence in this life's journey that he told God, if you're... Present does not go with us. Do not send us. Exodus 33. Exodus 33 verse 12 to 15. Exodus 33 verse 12 to 15. Then Moses said to the Lord. See, you said to me, bring up these people. But you have not let me know whom you will send with me. Yet you have said, I know you by name and you have also found grace in my sight. Now, therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in your sight, show me now. What is this now, now jumping everywhere? Show me now your way. I thought he said now, therefore. for show me now your way that i may know you and that i may find grace in your sight and consider that this nation is your people and he said my presence we go with you And I will give you rest. You see what you find in his presence? Rest. My presence will go with you. And I will give you rest. Then he said to him. If your presence does not go with us. Do not bring us up from here. Let's stay here. I want to stay where your presence is. Write this down and don't ever forget it. Wherever God guides, wherever and whenever God guides, He provides. where God guides he provides so if you are doing all you know yet notice nothing is happening it could be one of three things you know I want to find out whether you are truly prospering also you have good success. If you are doing all you know how to do and you are not getting results, it could be any of three things. A. It is your season of sowing and not reaping. It's your season of sowing and not reaping, so what do you do at that time? Be patient. James 5, 7 to 11. Be patient. Because if you are in your season of sowing and not reaping, you have nothing significant to show for what you are doing. James 5, 7 to 11. Therefore be... Can I hear you? Therefore be patient brethren. Until it shows up. Until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits. For the precious fruit of the earth. Waiting patiently for it. Until it receives the alley and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts. For the coming of the Lord. Is coming. is at hand do not grumble against one another brethren lest you be condemned behold the judge is standing at the door my brethren take the prophets who spoke in the name of the lord as an example of suffering and patience because when they speak it does not make sense and it does not look like it will come to pass almost the key leaders of this church with little few exceptions. Some said Buhari would die before election. Some said he would never make it. Some even commanded like their God. Now, one of them came to me and said, we missed it big time. I said, we missed it. May the Lord forgive us. And use the example of Samuel that he also almost missed it. If God did not help him in the house of Jesse. Number two, if you are doing all you know how to do yet nothing is happening, you are in a time of training and preparation. So learn each lesson well. You are in a time of training and preparation. So learn each lesson well as David did. Psalm 18 verse 31 to 34. Time of training, time of preparation, it's not wasted time. Psalm 18 verse 31 to 34. For who is God except the Lord and who is a rock Except our God. It is God who arms me with strength. And makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of deer. And sets me on my high places. He teaches my hands to. To make war. So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. When your hand is being taught to make war. When it's stretching you there will be pain. It's a time of training. It's a time of preparation. It teaches my hands to make war. So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You have also given me the shield of your salvation. Your right hand has held me up. Do you understand me? He has received training. That time of training, nobody knew. He had to share the testimony with the king because the king was not there. In the time of training, you are in your season of... anonymity. You're anonymous. Nobody knows you. You're not sung. There's no song. Nobody's waxing any record for you. It's just period of anonymity. Do you understand me? But when your prominence shows up, who no know? So if it's not yielding any result, pause, stop. You see what the Lord has asked me to do? If it's not, stop it. Instead of praying all night for God, Lord, to bless your field. And David behaved himself wisely in all ways and the Lord was with him. How many of you know that one with the Lord is majority? And if God be for us? Nobody. In all these things. I can't hear. In all these things. Please know that the presence of God is not cheap. God is omnipresent, which means he's everywhere. Like I would say, he's in the brothel, he's in the bar, he's everywhere. But his manifest presence and his indwelling presence is not a... Experienced by everyone. There's a huge price of obedience. And yieldedness. Required to make that happen. John chapter 14. Verse 19. John 14.19. There's a price to pay. It's called obedience and yieldedness. For the manifest and the indwelling presence of God. To take place in a man's life. A little while longer and the world will see me no more. But you will see me because I live. You will live also. At that day you will know that I'm in my father. And you in me and I in you. He who has my commandments and keeps them. It is he who lives. Loves me. And he who loves me. Will be loved by my father. And I will love him. And manifest myself. Who will he manifest himself to? Those who will be him. Judas. Not Iscariot. He doesn't ask intelligent questions. He just steals. Judas. Not Iscariot. Said to him. Lord. How is it that you will manifest yourself to us. And not to the world. Jesus answered and said to him if anyone loves me he will keep my word and my father will love him and we will come to him and make our home our boat with him he will become our mansion on the face of the earth the place where we live Amen Amen. Pillar number two. That's all we can cover in this first session. Pillar number two. The peace of God. The peace of God. He said to Moses, my presence will go with you and I will give you rest. The peace of God. It was David in the Bible who spelled out how to greet those who were in the house. Who live in prosperity. 1 Samuel chapter 25. Verse 2 to 6. It is spelled out. To greet those who truly live. In prosperity. 1 Samuel 25. 2 to 6. The reason I couldn't. Now there was a man in Miran whose business was in Carmel. And the man was very rich. He had 3,000 sheep and 1,000 goats and was sharing his sheep in Carmel. The name of the name man was Nabal. I almost said Bael. And the name of his wife, Abigail. And she was a woman of good understanding and beautiful appearance. But the man was harsh and evil in his doings. He was of the house of Caleb. The end. This is how you buy the container. Without checking the content. You understand me? If it's of the household of Caleb, then he must be a good guy. An apple does not fall far from the tree. Check the content. Investigate before you invest. It was a privileged conversation. We missed the president. I'll tell you what he said, because it's something that you can learn from. I raised a question about an individual that come to me and said, this person said this to me, did you send him? This is the way he responded. He said, the Lord blessed me with 10 children from my two marriages. The first one, I've died. Two sons, eight daughters. He said, one son is dead, and so is one daughter. I said, yes. you see those seven other daughters I told them I will not compel you to marry any person I will not force anyone on you as you grow and mature and you see the person you want to marry bring the person to me so I can check only one thing the criminality of their family I wish the president can speak more to Nigerian people and we are going to create a venue to make that happen so that you can see that this man is not just being helped by God. He also has some values. I tell the criminals of their family, if I find any crime in their lineage, I say don't go there, they are criminals. That was the answer I gave to my question. I immediately concluded. I understood what I should understand about the question I asked. Let's read on. When David heard in the wilderness a neighbor was sharing his sheep, David sent ten young men and David said to the young men, go up to Camel. go to Nabal and greet him in my name. How do you greet him? And thus shall I say to him who lives in prosperity, peace to you, peace to your house and peace to all that you have. For you it has become a cliche. If you're truly living in prosperity, that's the way you are greeted. And if you think that's an accident, when Jesus sent out his apostles, he said, If you find a man of peace in a place, say peace to you and peace to this house. It's why Muslims also say, As-salamu alaykum. Peace be unto this house. It's why the Jews say shalom. But I'm talking about the presence of God and his peace now. Not religion. Not cliche. Do you understand this? The peace of God. The peace of God. You see my friend, peace is a foundation of increase. Isaiah 9, 6 and 7 Isaiah 9, 6 and 7 For unto us a child is born and unto us a son is given Do you know all that went into that one line? 30 years training Behold I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation, a tried stone, a precious kind of stone, a sure foundation. He that believes shall not make a case. In those between a child that is born, a son that is given, 30 years preparation. And the government will be upon his shoulder and his name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. increase of his government and peace peace is a foundation of increase if your life is full of crisis your marriage is in tatters you are always at logger your head and you are complaining you don't have resources where would it come from there's no peace in your home there's no peace in your life peace is a foundation of increase Nothing attracts foreign capital to a nation like peace and security, and nothing aggravates capital flight out of a country like crisis and instability. This is one major reason why the Word of God enjoins believers to pray for those who are in authority. 1st Timothy chapter 2 verses 1 and 2. 1st Timothy chapter 2 verses 1 and 2. Therefore I exhort first of all the supplication, prayers, intercessions, given of thanks be made for who? All men. For who? For kings. And who? And all who are in authority that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and And reverence. For this is good. And acceptable in the sight of God our savior. Who. Desires all men to be saved. And to come to the knowledge of the truth. God almighty expects the believer. To be sandwiched between the peace of God. And the God of peace. That's why you can say no shaking. When you are sandwiched between the peace of God and the God of peace. Not that you will not have trials. Not that you will not have challenges. But you are sandwiched between the peace of God and the God of peace. Philippians 4, 6-9. Philippians chapter 4, 6-9. Be anxious for nothing. Anxiety kills. Anxiety produces depression. Anxiety in the heart of man is... the root of depression be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to god and the peace of god which surpasses all understanding the peace of god that does not make sense we guard your hearts and minds through christ jesus finally brethren whatever things are true because while The peace of God is guarding your heart and your mind. There will be news on CNN. There will be news on network news. There will be news on front page of newspaper. There will be all kinds of news. So which one do you accommodate? The one that will enhance that peace. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true. Whatever things are noble. Whatever things are just. Whatever things are pure. Whatever things are lovely. Whatever things are of good report. report if there's any virtue it can be a good report and there's no virtue in it and if there is anything praiseworthy meditate on these things the things which you learn and receive and heard and so in me this do and the god of peace will be with you you see the peace of god is the umpire of god's will and when the peace of god floods your heart and you keep on meditating Meditating on things that are noble, that are just. And you keep on doing what is right. In no time, what is wrong and who is wrong will leave you. Because the God of peace will show up. And when you are sandwiched between both. It's more than even contradictions of men now that you will overcome. The God of peace will bruise Satan himself under your feet. Romans 16.20 Romans 16.20 Romans 16 20 and the God of peace we cross Satan under your feet shortly the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you Lord I think I'll Come back in the next session and build on from this piece of God, because I want to show you something that I didn't mention since I've started teaching on this. Seven pillars stand to your feet. May the peace of God flood your heart today. May the peace of God flow in you like a river. May nothing perturb or disturb you. Or cause you to be anxious. Proverbs chapter 9 verse 1 to 6. He reads and I quote, wisdom has built a house. She has hewn out as seven pillars. She has slaughtered a meat.

she has mixed her wine she has also furnished her table she has sent out a maidens she cries out from the highest places of the city whoever is simple let him turn in here as for him who lacks understanding she says to him come eat of my bread and drink of the wine i have mixed for sick Take foolishness and leave. And go in the way. Of understanding.

Maybe I should add to that. Isaiah 55. Verse 1 to 5, Isaiah 55, 1 to 5. O everyone who thirsts, come to the waters, and you who have no money, come. buy and eat.

He has come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Only two things can be responsible for that. Number one, influence.

Influence. You can acquire things without money, without price, because you have influence. And number two, because the price has been paid.

Let's read further. Why do you spend money for what is not bread and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to me and eat what is good and let your soul delight itself in abundance. Nobody can help you because as a man thinks in his heart so easy. If your soul does not delight, you serve in abundance.

If you like to manage and just scratch the barrel and sing your song, this world is not your own. You are just passing through. Your mansions are in heaven and you walk on the streets of gold.

You are also welcome. Suffer here and enjoy there. But I have told you, I want all my rewards on the earth.

And when I get to heaven, I want all my rewards in heaven. So I will fully live here, and I will fully live eternally. That's my own desire. How about you?

Let's read further. Incline your ear and come to me, here and your soul shall live, and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, the sure mercies of David. God said, I brought David from obscurity into glory.

Post to the church of the living God. Definition. Good success. Good success begins with a comprehension.

Of your God given assignment. And it is a. accomplished when you fulfill same by the grace of God. Good success begins with a comprehension of your God given assignment and it is accomplished when you fulfill that assignment by the grace of God.

You may succeed in other things if it's not your God given assignment you're still a failure. That was what Howard Carter said to the first graduating students of his Bible school. Howard Carter mentored Dr. Sumra. He looked at them on the graduation day and said to them, I'm not afraid that you succeed. My fear is you may succeed in the wrong things.

Good success begins with a comprehension of your God-given assignment. And it is accomplished when you fulfill sin. By the grace of God. For those who have listened to the earlier teachings in this regard. Eliezer of Damascus.

The chief steward of Abraham. And Joshua the son of Nun. Were two shining examples of true success.

Genesis chapter 24. Verse 10 to 12. Genesis 24, 10 to 12. Then the servant took ten of his master's camels and departed, for all his master's goods were in his hand. And he arose and went to Mesopotamia, to the city of Nahor. And he made his camels kneel down outside.

the city by a well of water at evening time, the time when women go out to draw water. Then he said, O Lord God of my master Abraham, please give me success this day and show kindness to my master Abraham. This is the first time the word success occurs in the Bible.

What would you say about Eliezer of Damascus, in whose care are all the goals, the wealth, the riches of Abraham? Would you call him a failure? Would you call his master who sent him a failure?

Now, so what success was he asking for here? He had been given an assignment. He had been spelled out. He knew what the assignment was. Not to take any daughter of Canaan for Isaac.

But to go to Abram's people. And get one of the daughters of his people to be wife to his son Isaac. He had put his hands in the hands of his master.

And had sworn an oath. Now he took ten camels. Some of them carrying gold.

And. And some of them carrying other materials for what? To displace well for dowry.

And he got to the place of well where young ladies would come to fetch water. He sat there, caused his animals to kneel. And himself you will see at the end of the day that he was in a bowing position to God Almighty.

And pretty. prayer, give me success today. He understood his assignment, he's seeking grace to fulfill that assignment. Joshua was another clear shining example. Joshua chapter 1 verse 6 to 8. Joshua 1 6 to 8. Be strong and of good courage.

For today's people you shall do what? Please talk to me. For today's people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.

Assignment is specified here. This is your assignment. Only be strong and very courageous that you may observe to do according to all the law which most is my servant commanded you do not turn from a to the right hand or to the left verse that you may prosper Wherever you go. Okay.

Your assignment is clear. But it must be according to principles and law. You can't do it according to your own whims and caprice.

Do you understand this? You have to follow God's will, God's word in carrying out that assignment. Now verse number 8. This book of the Lord shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it.

For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Your way there is the word direct. And direct simply means a comprehension of your assignment. Do you understand this?

So if you don't understand what your assignment is, you will do other people's business. You become a copycat. Do you understand? You'll be asking people, what is moving now?

Because you are not moving. This is the moving line now. This is what is current.

This is what people are doing. Is that your assignment? So good success begins with the comprehension of your God-given assignment and it is accomplished when you fulfill that assignment by the grace of God.

True prosperity on the other hand... is having the presence of God in your life even as he causes you by his grace to make a success of your endeavors. I will repeat. True prosperity, on the other hand, is having the presence of God in your life, even as he causes you by his grace or as he enables you by his grace to make a success of your endeavors. That simply suggests something to anyone listening very attentively.

You cannot separate good success from true prosperity. They are inseparable. They are conjoined twins.

They are joined together. You cannot talk of true prosperity without clear evidence of good success in a person's life. And you cannot talk of good success without seeing the presence of God and the enabling grace to succeed in every endeavor committed to such person's hand.

Genesis chapter 12, I'll return to 12 again and we'll see how true prosperity and good success are linked. And... Genesis chapter 24, verse 10 to 12 again.

Genesis 24, 10 to 12. Then the servant took ten of his master's camels and departed for all his master's goods were in his hand. It was a trusted trustee, a trusted steward. And he arose and went to Mesopotamia to the city of Nahor.

And he made his camels kneel down. down outside the city by a well of water at evening time, the time when women go out to draw water. Then he said, O Lord God of my master Abraham, please give me success this day and show kindness to my master Abraham.

When God did that, let's see what happened. Verse 21. When Rebekah came and fulfilled everything that is is said to go before the baker showed up. And the man wondering at her remains silent so as to know whether the Lord had made his journey prosperous or not. What did he ask for at the beginning?

Success. What is he receiving at the end? Prosperity. You can't separate them. You can't separate true prosperity from good success.

They are inseparable. If it means man appears extremely wealthy, extremely powerful but you cannot recognize the presence of God in his life, that's not good success. The word good put before success is deliberate. Because there's a difference between the prosperity of the righteous and the prosperity of the wicked.

Genesis 39 verse 1 Genesis 39, 1 to 6, you cannot separate true success or good success from true prosperity. Now Joseph had been... taken down to? I can't hear you.

Joseph had been taken down to Egypt and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him. From the Ishmaelites. Who had taken him down there.

So what was the status. Of Joseph at this time. A slave bought. Which means he had no rights anymore.

In fact. More or less. The status was not of a chattel to be used.

If any food was given to him. Is to have strength to continue to serve his master. the Lord was with Joseph and he was a successful man how do you tell the Pentecostal church that a slave can be successful because we have taught it we have taught prosperity success in terms of the house you live in your neighborhood the car you ride and the amount of money in your bank account you may be a glorified failure The Lord was with Joseph and he was a successful man and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian and his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made him made all he did to prosper in his hand you cannot separate good success from true prosperity the lord made all he did to prosper in his hand and if you read joshua 1 8 you will see that they are next to each other you make your ways prosperous and you have good success with those definitions on the back of your minds let us examine the seven biblical pillars of world creation I'm not boasting but I'm not sure there's any business school in the world with this type of curriculum as most of the lecturers in those business schools are secular humanists themselves you'll be the judge today as we go through the seven pillars especially those of you with MBA degrees from different business schools you need to show me the whole our teacher really taught us in business school that the pressure The presence of God is critical to prosperity.

And understanding your God-given assignment is the number one foundation for good success. You will compare notes. Pillar number one. The presence of God. Pillar number one, what is that?

The presence of God. And I want to teach this in a practical way so that it's not some smoke and some spooky feeling when we are walking. Worshipers say the Lord is present here.

Thank God for such good feelings. But that's not what I'm talking about. Because if the presence of God is in your life, by his grace you'll be the same person in secret and in private.

Whether it's worship time or eating time at a restaurant. Whether you are by the seaside or you are in classroom. Jehovah Shana. The Lord is present. You carry his presence everywhere.

You are the new ark or the now ark that God is building on the face of the earth. Can I hear amen? Amen.

I want you to think of the patriarchs and you find this significant first pillar in their lives. I'm not sure Abraham built anything beyond an altar and pitched his tent. And his altar probably was inside the house or next to his tent.

So it could have been a conspicuous building where people would see him rise up early in the morning, in the afternoon, in the noon, in the evening, worshiping God and singing songs unto him. In fact... The first time the word worship was used, it was by Abraham. He said, I and the lad will go yonder and worship. There was no song, whether slow or fast.

There was no hymn. There was no tambourine, no guitar, no musical instruments. And there was no choir. I and the Lord, we go yonder and worship, and afterward we'll come back to you.

Was he clear as to what he was asked to go and do? Yes. How would he bring back his...

son after he had offered him a burnt offering or his burnt offering Hebrews will explain to you he knew that God was able to raise him from the dead. If he was deceived and God had spoken about it God will raise him from the dead. That's the fate of risk takers.

Who believe God absolutely. That he knows what he's saying. And when he gives a command. And you obey it.

No matter the circumstances in this situation. Why you are obeying? The world will not look back at you tomorrow and say.

You miss it big time. Look at the life of Abraham. There was no mosque, well, there was no church building, there was no accompanying instruments, he was not crying loud in the city and calling people to worship, but the king. of the territory he lived recognized this pillar in Abraham's life. Genesis 21 verse 22. Genesis 21 22 And it came to pass at that time that Abimelech and Phicol, Abimelech was the king of Jerah, the commander of his army spoke to Abraham saying, God is with you in all that you do.

Did he try to impress Abimelech of Icol with his religiosity? I said, definitely. It is clear to us, God is with you in all that you do.

Your ews and your female goats have not been carried their young and have not eaten the ram of your flock. Can you imagine? He was walking with him and serving in his house. He said, I don't know. Don't eat from yours.

I eat from mine. That which was done by beast. I did not bring to you.

I bought the loss of it. You require it from my hand. Whether stolen by day.

Or stolen by night. night. There I was in the day the draught consumed me and the frost by night. My sleep departed from my eyes. Those have been in your house 20 years.

Taskmaster, those that have been with you in your house 20 years, I served you for 10 years for your two daughters and 6 years for your flock and you have changed my wages 10 times. If he was reviewing the wages upwards, there would be no point stating it. You have changed my wages ten times. Unless the God of my father, the God of Abraham.

I said, you will see. I'm a barrier breaker. I want you to rise upon your feet this morning.

Stand to your feet. I want to bless you and I want you to receive it into your heart. May the good Lord make it evident to everyone that is with you.

I repeat that prayer. May the God that I serve day and night, may the good God make it evident to everyone that He is with you. May He bless you in all that you do.

May He do a great work in you for all to see. And may He receive all the glory and praise. May they testify. Now you are the blessed of the Lord.

We are certain that God is with you. That will be your portion. In Jesus mighty name. Please be seated. Three other examples that we can add to the patriarchs are Joseph, Moses, and David.

If you think the patriarchs are in the class of their own. They come in with God face to face. Let's check others who are not patriarchs, but in their own right, they are models of faith.

Beginning with Joseph. We have read it in Genesis 39. It was the presence of God that distinguished him in Egypt. Both in Captain Potiphar's house and in prison.

Genesis 39 once again. If you are not tired of reading with me. Genesis 39, 1 to 4. Now. Joseph, I like the word now.

Anywhere I see it, it jumps at me. Leave me now. Now, Joseph had been taken down to Egypt and portified an office of Pharaoh, captain of the guard.

What did that mean? produced or what did that make available to a man who was brought down so joseph found favor in his sight and served him then he made him overseer of his house And all that he had, he put under his authority.

Does that look like a man down? The presence of God made a difference. He was brought down there.

But he became the overseer. And now, Mrs. Potiphar lied against him and was thrown into prison. Let's find out what happened to him in prison. Verse 20, Genesis 39 verse 20. Then Joseph's master took him and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were confined. There are prisons and there are prisons.

and he was there in the prison but the lord was with joseph come on now the lord was with joseph and he gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's hand all the prisoners. All. The good, the bad, the ugly, the certified criminal.

Whatever they did there, it was his doing. The keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under Joseph's authority. Why? Because the Lord was with him and whatever he did, the Lord made it prosper even in prison.

Sorry somebody, you lost and missed the boat when you think money is prosperity. The blessings of the Lord makes rich. It does not add sorrow to it. You can be rich and not blessed.

Moses, another example. Moses was so sure about the significance of God's presence in this life's journey that he told God, if you're... Present does not go with us.

Do not send us. Exodus 33. Exodus 33 verse 12 to 15. Exodus 33 verse 12 to 15. Then Moses said to the Lord. See, you said to me, bring up these people. But you have not let me know whom you will send with me. Yet you have said, I know you by name and you have also found grace in my sight.

It's why the Jews say shalom. But I'm talking about the presence of God and his peace now. Not religion. Not cliche.

You see my friend, peace is a foundation of increase. This is one major reason why the Word of God enjoins believers to pray for those who are in authority.

1st Timothy chapter 2 verses 1 and 2. 1st Timothy chapter 2 verses 1 and 2. Therefore I exhort first of all the supplication, prayers, intercessions, given of thanks be made for who? All men. For who? For kings. And who?

And all who are in authority that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and And reverence. For this is good. And acceptable in the sight of God our savior.

Who. Desires all men to be saved. And to come to the knowledge of the truth.

God almighty expects the believer. To be sandwiched between the peace of God. And the God of peace.

That's why you can say no shaking. When you are sandwiched between the peace of God and the God of peace. Not that you will not have trials. Not that you will not have challenges. But you are sandwiched between the peace of God and the God of peace.

Philippians 4, 6-9. Philippians chapter 4, 6-9. Be anxious for nothing.

Anxiety kills. Anxiety produces depression. Anxiety in the heart of man is...

the root of depression be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to god and the peace of god which surpasses all understanding the peace of god that does not make sense we guard your hearts and minds through christ jesus finally brethren whatever things are true because while The peace of God is guarding your heart and your mind. There will be news on CNN. There will be news on network news. There will be news on front page of newspaper.

There will be all kinds of news. So which one do you accommodate? The one that will enhance that peace. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true.

Whatever things are noble. Whatever things are just. Whatever things are pure. Whatever things are lovely. Whatever things are of good report.

report if there's any virtue it can be a good report and there's no virtue in it and if there is anything praiseworthy meditate on these things the things which you learn and receive and heard and so in me this do and the god of peace will be with you you see the peace of god is the umpire of god's will and when the peace of god floods your heart and you keep on meditating Meditating on things that are noble, that are just. And you keep on doing what is right. In no time, what is wrong and who is wrong will leave you.

Because the God of peace will show up. And when you are sandwiched between both. It's more than even contradictions of men now that you will overcome. The God of peace will bruise Satan himself under your feet. Romans 16.20 Romans 16.20 Romans 16 20 and the God of peace we cross Satan under your feet shortly the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you Lord I think I'll Come back in the next session and build on from this piece of God, because I want to show you something that I didn't mention since I've started teaching on this.

Seven pillars stand to your feet. May the peace of God flood your heart today. May the peace of God flow in you like a river.
