answer that you've been looking for in how to win in your battle against sin whether it be the World the Flesh or the devil you're going to find the answer today in this Bible study it is going to take your life to a level that previously you could not have imagined I'm going to talk to you about beat the triple threat how you can have victory over the World the Flesh and the devil but I'm going to read a passage to you first and then I'll get into my introduction in Luke 4: 1-13 it says Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan and was led by the spirit Into the Wilderness being 40 days tempted of the devil and in those days he did eat nothing and when they were ended he afterwards hungered and the devil said unto him if thou be the Son of God command that these Stones be made bread Jesus answered him saying it is written that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word of God the devil taketh him into a high mountain showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time and the devil said unto him all this power will I give thee and the glory of them for that is delivered unto me and to whomsoever I will I give it if thou therefore wil worship worship me all shall be thine and Jesus answered and said unto him get thee behind me Satan for it is written Thou shalt Worship the Lord thy God and him only shalt thou serve and he brought him to Jerusalem and set him on the pentacle of a temple and he said unto him if thou be the Son of God cast thyself down from hence for it is written he shall give his Angels charge over thee and they in their hands they shall bear thee up lest at any time thou Dash thy foot against the stone and Jesus answering said unto him it is said that thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God and when the devil had ended all the Temptation H that's interesting all the Temptation he departed from him for a season so in the military there's a concept called a triple thre any military folks in here ex former military so you're familiar with the whole concept of a triple threat so in the military there's a concept called a triple threat and the triple threat against the enemy is when I attack them by air Land and Sea at the same time to so overwhelm them that they feel like there's no possibility of Escape well as human beings the enemy is our adversary but the enemy operates on three planes he operates on air Land and Sea the Air Attack is the devil the land attack is the flesh the world the water attack is the world you say why is the world the water attack because like everything water is constantly changing it's flowing the Tide's up the Tide's down the waves are up and down up and down there's no consistency but it's also very powerful and so and it has a very very powerful pull and so what we have to do is we have to recognize that the way that I win against an air attack is not the same same way I went against the land attack and this same way I went against the land attack is not the way I went against the water attack so I was talking to my wife and somebody I don't remember who it was somebody was at my house oh I think it was my sister-in-law and I said we were talking about the world of the Flesh and the devil and I was talking to them about the ways you defeat the different ones the Bible lays out clearly and a lot of times people will attempt a defense that will work against the flesh but they'll attempt it on the devil or they'll attempt an a a um defense against the world and they'll attempt it on the flesh and it doesn't work and they're like oh this isn't working well it's not working because you don't even recognize who your enemy is now Satan we see that when the enemy came to Jesus and he he came to him in the wilderness he started tempting him he tempted him in all three areas the first Temptation was a flesh Temptation command these stones to be made bread okay the second one by the way I'm not yeah I will say it just as an aside command these Stones be made bread what are Stones stones are building blocks right and so what he's saying is take what you're supposed to use to build and consume it right then he said um he leads him to The Pinacle of the temple and shows him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time and says all this power will I give thee Oh all this power will I give thee and the glory of them which which doesn't seem to make like grammatically doesn't seem to make sense all this power will I give you in the glory of them that doesn't seem to make sense except unless you understand he's talking about the glory of them kingdoms he's going to give you the power and the glory of those kingdoms if you'll fall down and worship me well that is the Temptation Of The Devil he wants you to worship him he wants you to get your priorities out of kilter wait it's so mindblowing it's so mind-blowing you'll be able to easily recognize which one of these attacks is attacking you moving forward okay then oh and by the way when I was having this conversation with my wife she said you need to do a bible study on that you need to do a bible study on that so I'm doing a bible study on that so indeed I thought to myself wow I thought I talked about this before but apparently not clearly enough so we going to do a deep Di and so um and then it says um it says he took him to the pentacol the temple and said cast yourself down and um oh and by the way so with the the just like the just like the fleshly Temptation wants to take what you're supposed to use to build and consume it the devilish Temptation wants you to acquire at any cost acquire at any cost when you're tempted to get something at any cost I'll do whatever I have to do the end justifies the means is a satanic thought are y'all tracking okay and then the last one was cast yourself down you you throw throw yourself off this hide so he took him um uh what did it say um and he brought him to Jerusalem and set him on the pentacle of the temple and said unto him if thou be the Son of God cast thyself down why because when you take somebody to the pentacle of the temple there are always people there so if you cast yourself down in front of these people and the angels bear you up you get to prove to other people that you are who you say you are are you tracking and so the worldly Temptation then so I'm I'm going to do it like this be before I even get into the different Temptations I have to help you understand why we why do we have three different kinds of Temptations in the first place because we are Spirit soul and body yes and because we're a Triune being like God is a Triune being father son and spirit Holy Spirit we are Triune beings because we're made in the image of God God didn't say let me make man in my image God said let us make man in our image and so we're a triun being we have Spirit soul and body the spirit part of us is the part of us that relates to God the soul part of us is the part of us that relates to ourselves and other people the body part of us is how we relate to the physical world if everybody can make sure your phones are like silent so um how we relate to the physical world right and so so when we understand okay my spirit relates to God is how I relate to God my soul is how I relate to myself and other people my body is how I relate to physicality okay so now I got that so now that we understand that we're looking at the World the Flesh and the devil let's look at them one by one um the devil attacks us in our spirit he attacks us in our attitudes by our desire to acquire something by any means necessary that's a satanic think think about it Adam and he told Adam and Eve that they could be more like God when you eat off this tree you will be as Gods knowing good and evil you'll be more like God but do the thing God told you not to do and you'll be more like god wow by the way do you understand that was when religion started in the Bible there was no religion before that God never established a religion you say what do you mean God never established a religion what the word the the Greek word for religion is leeri which means bondage but God God established from the very beginning from like from Genesis chapter 1 God was establishing Kingdom a kingdom is a government it's not a religion that's why he said man he said to man um be fruitful multiply replen or subdue it and have dominion Dominion is government God was God created the Earth and then cre created man who is like God but not God to rule as an extension of God over the creation that's physical okay and so our desire to acquire at any cost is what Satan tempts us to do he tempted Adam and Eve to do that so when I say it was a first religion what I mean when a man or a group of men men women whoever humans when aou when a human or a group of humans tells you these are the things that you must do to appease God that's what I mean when I say religion are you tracking because the truth of the gospel of Christ is there is nothing any of us can do to appease God Only God Can appease God how does God appease God God appeased God by sending his son to die on the cross for our sins in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin that we may be made the righteousness of God in him so like there's nothing I can do to appease God either I receive the appeasement that God made for me in the death barrial and resurrection of his son or I try to do it myself with religion and it doesn't matter what you name the religion they're all the same they're all do telling you you have to do something to appease God that's why I don't like the phrase that we use in a lot of modern churches if you want to give your life to Christ salvation is not giving your life to Christ giving my life to Christ is something I do after I receive the gift of Salvation which is I receive Christ because salvation is a gift God gives me me it's not a gift I give him salvation is a gift God gives me sanctification is a gift I give God and I only give God that gift because he gave me his Spirit to give him that gift so God receives things that start with him things that don't start with him he's not interested in them why because they're going to be corrupted so hopefully are tracking okay so to acquire by any means necessary that's why the Apostle Peter said to ananas and saf when they when they lied kept back they sold their land they kept back part of the price but they wanted everybody to believe see it was a worldly Temptation and a devilish Temptation they wanted everybody to believe that they gave everything and so they wanted to acquire the money from the stuff but they also wanted the accolades of the people and so what did Peter say why hath what Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Ghost this why Jesus said to Peter in joh in Matthew chapter 16 when Peter said when Jesus said I'm going to die and I'm going to be delivered up I'm going to be crucified Peter said be it far from thee Lord this shall not happen unto thee and Jesus said get thee behind me Satan why did he say get thee behind me Satan he said for thou Savor us the things that be of men but not the things that be of God Peter wanted to acquire that Kingdom Authority in the now as opposed to doing it God's way he wanted to do it his way in his time which is another reason why I don't set goals because I don't have a time I want it to be done I want to be done when God wants to be done why because everything is beautiful in his time I get to I get to determine the inputs I don't get to determine the season of the outcome okay you are tracking so that's how the devil attacks so when I think about um the devil attacking he attacks with lies AC accusations and spiritual warfare and when I say spiritual warfare the Bible talks about quenching the fiery darts of of the enemy well those fiery darts are always in the form of thoughts um 2 Corinthians chapter 3 I think it's verse 10 and 11 I think it says lest Satan should get an advantage of us for we are not ignorant of his devices the word devices is the Greek word NOA which means thoughts we're not ignorant of his thoughts so understand this Satan can possess somebody who's not a a child of God who's not a who's not a um Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb Satan can possess but if you've been saved if you've been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb if you've been bought by the blood of Christ then you Satan cannot possess you but don't make the mistake of thinking that because he can't possess you don't make the mistake of thinking that he cannot oppress you because he can't oppress you and here's how he oppress you he will oppress You by putting thoughts in your mind and making you think those thoughts are your thoughts remember he said I fear L by any means that as the serpent begal Eve through a subtlety so your mind should be corrupted from the Simplicity that's in Christ doesn't it stand the reason if we're going to understand the kinds of thoughts sat your minds are going to be corrupted that's where thoughts go right in your minds right so we know now that thoughts can come from Satan so where do thoughts come from I don't know if it makes you ask this question but it makes me ask this question where do thoughts come from well thoughts come from Sometimes they come from memories sometimes thoughts come from something that we see mixing with something that we already know that's right right sometimes thoughts come from other people when other people are talking to us you know why they're talking to us cuz they want to take the thoughts out of their head and put them in our head right that's why people talk to us and sometimes thoughts come from ourselves and then sometimes thoughts come from Satan well sometimes thoughts come from God and some those were the only two sources if sometimes thoughts come from God and sometimes thoughts thoughts come from Satan and we have all these other sources wouldn't it be ideal to know when a thought is coming from Satan I mean that'd be kind of Handy like on a daily can I get a witness so but but but he told us where to find out what those thoughts look like you were talking about guard your heart earlier right Cole right so like wouldn't it be good if we made every thought that wants to come into our head show ID that it has that level of access you got clearance and if you don't have clearance we send it away send it packing well in order for us to do that we're going to have to know in order for us to know he said I Fearless by any means as the servant beg God Eve through a subtlety so your mind should be corrupted from the simplic in Christ we're going to do it really really quickly I hope um so it would it would benefit us greatly to know what kind of thoughts Satan put in Eve's mind because if we know what kind of thoughts Satan put in Eve's mind we clearly understand the kind of thought Satan puts in our mind does that make sense so if we study Genesis chapter 3 it'll tell us what a satanic thought looks like now we've already talked about one of them and some somebody really didn't like a somebody somebody didn't like like this when I said this a couple weeks ago oh well um that the temptation to focus on lack is always a satanic thought in fact I'm going to go a step further while I'm irritating people I might as well just go all the way in not that that's my intent but sometimes it just can't be avoided the the first Temptation in history of the world was the temptation to focus on lack the reality is this poverty is always the result of spiritual warfare not sometimes not most of the time always how do you know that the thief cometh not but for to steal when somebody steals something from you do you have more or less less less okay just checking to kill and to destroy somebody kills and destroys the like steals the stuff you have kills the people who in you're relationship with and and um destroys your stuff do you have more or less poverty is always the result of spiritual warfare which by the way also I don't have time to go into today but I will say it as an aside give yall something to think about wealth is always a spiritual outcome even though everybody who has wealth is not spiritual they have wealth because they're abiding by a spiritual principle and spiritual principles don't discriminate they don't only work for Spiritual they don't only work for people who are living righteous lives spiritual principles just work period man I wish I had the time to go into that whole thing but I don't so here's what it says Genesis CH 3 now the serpent was more subtle than a beast of the field which the Lord God had made and he said to the woman yay hath God said ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden so the very first thing that Satan did was he added a word he added the word not took out the word freely does that change the meaning you shall not eat of every tree of the garden Chang the meaning drastically um Michael can you warm it up like two degrees in here people look cold I'm quite comfortable um um thank you so um so that's the first first thought Satan wants us Satan wants um to distract us with discontentment and dissatisfaction why because God didn't say of every um uh the L Lord God said You shall not e God didn't say you shall not eat every tree of the garden that's not what God Said God emphasized what they could eat Satan's Satan's emphasizing what they couldn't eat God emphasized what they had the abundance they had the enemy emphasized the one thing they lacked and what's amazing is they only lacked one thing they're the only human beings who ever Liv who only lacked one thing and even though they only lacked one thing be Satan got them distracted with dissatisfaction and discontentment and when they started focusing on what was missing it caused them to lose what was there so that's the first one the woman said we may eat of the fruit of the Trees of the garden um but of the tree that's in the midst of the garden God has said You shall not eat of it neither shall you touch it lest you die well God didn't say don't touch it so don't add anything to what God said if you'll just say what he said you don't need to add anything you don't need to take anything away okay then it says which by the way this is why I don't use the term gay I'm you say why because it's an inaccurate description of sodomy which God calls an Abomination we don't like talking about nobody everybody oh now they're not quiet about it you know in there I've seen YouTube videos that say we're here we're que we're coming for your children why are they coming for for your children they're coming for your children cuz they can't have children two men can't have a CH child or two women can't have a child you want to agree with God call it what he calls it you want like in this passage by the way I don't hate homosexuals I don't hate people who are that's not that the Bible commands me the Bible doesn't command me to hate them I hate that sin just like I hate adultery and fornication and drunkenness and the rest of it laziness right but it's the thing that I anyway I don't I don't have time to here's here's what we have to understand if I'm not calling it the same thing God called it I'm disagreeing with God and agreeing with whoever disagree with him anyway just as an aside just little something to think about okay um my why don't you call it gay because gay means happy which infers that people who are not homosexuals can't be happy I'm not going I'm not going I just I'm going to call it what it is so anyway just a little lesson on language um so the serpent said unto the woman ye shall not surely die this is number two he wants us to deny the destruction of Disobedience what's that mean he wants us to think we can get away with it see Satan the enemy got aen to believe I can tell right now we're not going to get through all these but that's okay I'm not in a hurry y'all in a hurry we'll pick up where we left off next Thursday okay um so so Satan got aen to believe that something was missing so what did he do he got him to steal when they took when they went into Jericho a wedge of silver um 30 shekels of silver a wedge of gold and a goodly babylonish garment and what did he do he hid it in his tent he got him to believe that you need these things God said don't take anything from the first city why cuz the first fruit belongs to God and he took it and he hid it in his tent and then they went up against little bitty itty itty bitty AI I do name the not AI like artificial int intelligence the city of AI and they lost and thousands of men lost their lives and he hid it in his tent because the enemy got him to believe he could get away with it and guess what happened they just cast lots and a lot fell on Ain and God said you take him you take his wife and you take his children outside the camp and you Stone them with stones until they die and I know some of you think well that's not fair tell that to the children who are fatherless who lost their father because of aan sin tell that to the wives who became widows who lost their lives because of aan sin God's not confused about what he's doing we may not like it CU we want everything to be fair but see fair is not even a Biblical like it's not even a real concept because there is no Biblical Hebrew word for fair there's no such Fair there's just okay and there's a what does that mean or of deity what does that mean he wants us to think that he has something good for us and God is keeping us something from us God didn't tell you the whole truth I'm going to tell you the rest of it what does that mean the enemy Satan wants us to think that our friends are our enemies and our enemies are our friends isn't that what he did with amnon see we isn't it interesting that we have these principles but then we have biblical illustrations that show us people who did those things he wants us to think that our friends are our enemies and our enemies are our friends he wants us to doubt the disclosure of deity God's keeping something from you God's not keeping anything from you that a how he operates he told you the whole thing of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat but of the tree that's in the midst of the garden Thou shalt not eat of it for the day thou eatest thereof Thou shalt surely die but God's keeping something from you the reality is when you eat off the fruit of the tree you'll be like God well the TR all lies have some truth that's what makes him effective as a lie and see he said you'll be able to be be like God you'll be able to decide for yourself what's good and for what's evil there you go there's the first religion in the history of the world it's called Hedonism man gets to be God and that's what all religions do if you do these things then you get to appease God which means you get to be God of the god that you serve that's why people say I could never worship a God who blah blah blah right you want to serve the fleshly fleshly Temptation Pleasant to the eyes worldly Temptation tree to be desired to make one wise devilish Temptation she took of the fruit thereof and did eat watch this and gave also unto her husband with her and he did eat this is satanic you ready Satan depends on your dependence to defeat your defenses what does that mean Satan couldn't get to Adam but he knew Eve could and that's why you have to have a standard if you're going to be the leader of a family or an organization you have to have things that you will do and won't do things that you will places you will go and won't go stuff you will say and won't say why because because the enemy will depend on your dependence to defeat your defenses Satan knew he could get to Adam through Eve this happened over and over and over and over in scripture Satan even attempted to try it on Jesus when he got Peter say be it far from thee Lord this shall not be to thee but Jesus recognized it immediately where that thought was coming from he said not me I am the word and then it says gave unto her husband with her and he did eat verse 7 and The Eyes of them both were open and they knew that they were naked and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves apron and they heard their they heard the voice of the Lord Walking In The Garden in the cool of the day and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord the enemy wants us to deny disclosure to our deliverer he wants us to hide from the only one who can help us isn't this amazing so so when I do something wrong then the enemy comes to condemn me because I did the thing he tempted me to do and then he wants me to hide from the only one who can fix the problem I created I wish I had some help okay so the Air Attack is how Satan operates in the life of a Believer I might actually get done okay um the ground attack the flesh attack well the Air Attack again don't forget this now it's an attack the enemy the devil attacks us in our attitudes with our desire to acquire something and some so how how how how does that manifest itself sometimes it manifests itself through getting angry because I want what I want and now I'm mad CU I feel like I can't get it sometimes it manifest itself in pouting can I get a witness I didn't get what I wanted so I'm going to pout until I get it sometimes it manifests itself in manipulation because we desire to acquire something that is not rightfully ours that's a satanic Temptation are yall tracking now the Bible tells us how to have victory over Satan where does it tell us that James chapter 4 it says this I think it's verse James chapter 4: 7 and 8 it's either 6 and 7 or 7 and 8 it says submit yourselves therefore to God resist the devil and he will flee from you notice it didn't just say resist the devil and he will flee from you it said resist it said submit yourself therefore to God resist the devil and he will flee from you so God is showing us he's showing us the opposite ends of the pole here's what he's saying submit to God and resist the devil by the way way resistance doesn't work against fleshly appetites by the way resistance doesn't work against worldly Ambitions resistance only works against Satanic attacks so resist the devil how do I resist the devil by submitting to God submit means to place yourself under the authority of another and here's the reality some of us don't have enough of the word of God in us to submit to God because we don't even know what he said can I get a witness we don't have enough word in us to bring us in check when we start seeking to acquire at any cost so here's what God Said submit to God resist the devil and he will flee from you how do you submit to God well here's how you pray you ask God to teach him teach you his word and then you read his word but don't just read it you study it but you don't just study it you meditate on it you let it become your all day think about thing and you ask God to show you things when you read his word show you things in your life show you things in his word that you need to implement in your life that's how you submit to God by the way submit to God res submit there yourselves therefore to God resist the devil he will flee from you guess what that means if you don't submit to God you can't resist Satan and it also means that you will either submit to God and resist Satan or you will find yourself submitting to Satan and resisting God danger wol Robinson danger okay let's go on to the fleshly attack so the devil attacks us the Air Attack attacks us in our attitudes and our desire to acquire something by any means necessary the flesh attack is the ground attack it attacks us in our appetites our desire to feel something you know what it's so fascinating that some of the appetites that we have there's nothing wrong with them you know what's wrong when we place the appetite when we place the flesh nature above the spirit nature when we let our Esau nature be stronger than our Jacob n nature when we let our old man rule over our new man instead of letting our new man some of you like what's a new man and old man when a before a person receives Christ they just they they only have one nature it's a sin nature when a person receives Christ the scripture says in Matthew in Romans chapter 8 when I received Christ I didn't just receive Christ but I also received the spirit of God if any man have not the spirit of God he is none of his so when I receive Christ I also receive the Holy Spirit when I receive the Holy Spirit I now have both the desire I have access to the desire and the power to do the things that were contained in the word of God before I had neither the desire nor the power so now I have a new man with with a new nature why if any man be in Christ he is a new creature or a new creation old things are passed away behold all things are become new you now have a new nature your new nature is younger than your old nature when you first come to Christ your new nature is weaker than your old nature but the more you starve the appetites of the old man of the Flesh and the more you feed the new nature of the new man then the more power the new man has to rule over the old man the Bible is amazing so the flesh attacks is in our appetites but my desire to drink water is not a bad appetite but if I drink too much water I can drown my desire to eat food is not a bad I mean God gave us taste buds like I am so thankful one of the things I'm thankful for often in fact almost every time I eat I am so thankful for the fact that God didn't make me like a car cars can't taste their fuel but I can taste my fuel Fuel and I can enjoy it I can even make my fuel so delightful that I just take pleasure in refueling this is so great but if I let that appetite for those flavors rule me and I sacrifice the long term on the altar of the short term My Flesh which is self-destructive and suicidal will eventually meet its own demise that it brought about by its own hand so I've got to De I got to I got to defeat this flesh cuz this my our fleshly nature is strong our fleshly nature our fleshly appetites are strong for food for fun for physical satisfaction in the areas of sex and like sexual pleasure like our appetites are strong well we have to make sure that our spirit rules over our soul and our soul so our spirit and soul rule over our body in in order to do that I have to take what God Said and make it my standard in my the what I have to re let my spirit receive what God's spirit has to say to me through God's word and then I have to make sure that my spirit rules over my soul over my mind and then I got to make sure my mind rules over my body and one of the best ways to do that is to have some predetermined things that you won't do now here's what really interesting the scripture tells us that we receive um we receive um flesh we receive um I forgot what I was going to say I had a I had a um I had a uh a uh uh notification that distracted me so um the spirit the scripture tells us that we resist the tempt ations of the Air Attack by the Satan by resisting but we have victory over the ground attack on the flesh not by resisting but by fleeing the Bible tells us to flee fornication the Bible tells us to flee also youthful lust we have to remove oursel from the environment where the fleshly appetite exists or remove the flesh the thing that satisfies that fleshly appetite from our environment you know what you know why it's easy for me not to eat junk food because I don't keep it around makes it really easy and then when I see it I don't look at it like I reframe the way I look at it I don't see it as oh that's going to taste so good I see like when I see some when I see like a dessert my wife makes great Desserts by the way I don't have to tell y'all right my wife makes great desserts but when I see dessert I don't see oh man that's G to taste so good I see that I'm immediately GNA be sleepy and groggy I might get a headache I might get a little dizzy I'm going to leave it alone I look at it I look at what it is in the long term cuz the part when you're eating it how long as that last now I'm not saying I never eat dessert I eat dessert sometimes but it's it's it's more rare than common why because I already know me I already know me I'm a foodie I love food I like to cook it I like to smell it I like to prepare it I like to eat it I like to think about it did I leave anything out I'm a I love no you don't understand I don't like food I love food love it but it don't always love me and I have to be aware of that so I have to I have to I have to remove myself that that's why and I'm not saying everybody needs to do this that's why I do intermittent fasting I only have a certain window of time in which I eat every day I don't eat before that I I've eaten nothing today why yet I've eaten nothing yet I don't don't don't you worry about me I'm going to be all right I'm going to eat something but I haven't eaten anything yet why cuz I know if I make the window in which I eat smaller and that's predetermined during that window there's only so much I can eat that's number one and generally speaking I do a protein shake at lunch I'll do a protein shake or a salad usually it's a protein shake at lunch and then I'll eat dinner right while today it's going to be a protein shake for lunch and a salad for dinner and I'm good now the salad's going to have you know some grilled chicken or something and couple boiled eggs and stuff but I'll be satiated here's the interesting thing about appetites the more we feed them the stronger they get the less we feed them the weaker they get we can actually starve our appetites for certain things to death or to near death because they're always going to be lurking in the shadows so flee the lust oh what does it say in in in Romans chapter 13 I don't remember which verse maybe around verse 23 maybe it says and put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ Watch what it says next and make no Pro vision for the flesh to do what to fulfill the lust thereof when it says to be Spirit to be carnally minded is death but to be spiritually minded is life and peace what does that mean carnally minded spiritually carnal means fleshly to be fleshly minded is death but be spiritually minded is life and peace like how can my flesh have a mind how can your flesh have does your stomach growl when you get hungry right are y'all tracking like our our our flesh speaks to us it lets us know it has needs can I get a witness well the scripture says if the need that your flesh is letting you know you have if you don't have a rightful outlet for that remove yourself from the environment where you've provided an opportunity for you to satisfy that appetite okay I think y are with me this is beautiful y are such amazing fast Learners so we see the ground attack now let's look at the water attack it tells us um the water attack is from the world our worldly Temptations so if Satan attacks us in our Ambitions our desire to acquire things by anything any means necessary and the flesh attacks us in our um appetites our desire to feel something again by any means necessary um then the world attacks us in our Ambitions now when I say Ambitions this is what I mean our desire to be perceived as someone the world worldly Temptations are The Temptations that elevate our status by any means necessary that's why the devil took Jesus to Jerusalem he didn't just take him to a tall building he took him to the Jerusalem and set him on the Pinnacle of the temple CU when you throw yourself down everybody will see you but Jesus told us something about doing things to be seen of men here's what he told us when you do things to be seen of men when you need people to believe something about you you've already received your reward that's all you get what what he saying if you need people to believe you're a prayer Warrior so you pray in front of them for really long periods of time you already got the answer you've been looking for don't expect God to add to it if you're giving in front of people so people can know how much money you put in the offering you go around bragging about it or how much money you donate to charity cuz you go around bragging about if that's why you're giving you already received all the rewards you're going to get that's all you get when you fast you oh fasted for 4 days you just need people to know congratulations you got all you're getting from that how many you on track in track and so our our desire for people to believe something about us in order for us to feel elevated in our status above other people those are the worldly Temptations think about peer pressure why do why why do why do peers have pressure because if I do what they want me to do then they will believe something about me isn't it amazing that that's like that's the Temptation Of The World people think oh the Temptation Of The World Is you want to raise at your job that's a worldly Temptation no maybe you just want to take better care of your family maybe it's not necessarily worldly you're need for people to believe something about you see is the exact opposite of Christ let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus hm which mind is that who being in the form of God is there any a higher status than that I'm just checking who being in the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with God so he KN he he was in the form of God and he knew he was equal with God and then it says but he made himself a no reputation what does that tell you Jesus didn't need you to know who he was in order for him to know who he was you want to have Victory you want to you want to have victory over the world know who you are based on Whose you are and let that be enough can I get a witness amen just just be content to know you are who God says you are and if somebody misunderstands you let that be their problem don't have time to care about what you think other people think about you like man do you know you know what I think about you nope and I don't really care I mean you can tell me if you want to I'm going to lose exactly less than 100th of a second of sleep over tonight it's so interesting you know I had somebody say that because I said the thing about you know poverty being the result of spiritual warfare and like people are poor because of satanic influences somebody said this guy's teaching satanic Doctrine he's got enough nerve to say poor people are poor because they well and what's what's interesting to me is the fact that somebody will leave a really long comment on a YouTube video and I don't mind it doesn't bother me it's just fascinating they'll spend 15 minutes writing a comment and then you go to their Channel and they've been on YouTube for 15 years and not produce one video it's mindblowing if you really believe something go do something about it often I often reply those people if you'll send me to the video where you're like teaching on this and I can get a better understanding I'll happily watching I'm not just saying that I will happily watch it I don't believe I'm right about everything I know that I know there are things I believe now that I won't believe 10 years from now but I got to learn it somewhere I'm just saying see some of us are so fragile we can't even do the thing that God gave us to do because we're too worried about what people might think about us God put us here to please God and serve people not please people and serve God not just serve God I mean go God wants us to serve him but he wants us to please him and when we pleas part of pleasing him is serving him but we're not people Pleasers I don't have time there are too many people they'll have too many different things they want done I'm just you going have to find somebody else bro I can't help you with that like our worldly temptation is our need for the world to be accepted by the world know you not in fact I'm going to read this to you and then we're going to end we're going we're going to wrap it up read I'm going to read to you from James chapter 4 because excuse me James chapter 4 is just a fascinating analogy that James the half brother of Christ G gave in chapter 4 it says from Once come Wars and fightings among you come they not hence even of your lust or your desires that war in your members there's that concept again like often times we will have a longing for things we don't like because God put a Desiring us for those things and we don't even like them because they're not what we're used to we need to learn how to get over ourselves anyway I don't have to anyway you lust and you lust and have not you kill and desire to have and cannot retain you fight in war yet you have not because you ask not you ask and receive not because you ask a miss that you may just consume it upon your lust what lust the fleshly lust the worldly lust and the devilish lust you adulterers and adulteresses know you not that friendship of the world is enmity with God in other words you want to be identifi you want the world to believe you're like them your desire to be relevant is more is higher than your desire to be righteous God said I'm going to tell you something you're the enemy of God whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God so that's the worldly Temptation do you think that the scripture saith in vain that the spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth the EnV lusteth to Envy but he giveth more grace for God resist the proud but giveth Grace unto the humble submit yourselves therefore to God resist the devil and he will flee from you that's talking about satanic Temptations devilish Temptations what's the last one it says draw nigh unto God and He will draw nigh unto you draw nigh unto God He will draw nigh unto you cleanse your hands ye Sinners purify your hearts ye double-m minded draw nine to God that's spiritual cleanse your hands that's that's fleshly like clean up your habits clean up your activities and then purify your hearts ye double-minded that's where you get victory over the worldly Temptations be afflicted and mourn and weep let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to have what's it saying he all he's saying is don't always be caving into your appetites the things that are feel good to you um in James chapter 3 I'm not going to read it for you so understand this the the devil knows our weaknesses and he will tempt Us in all three areas the devil will tempt us with worldly Temptations devilish Temptations and fleshly temptations because he's becoming a triple threat so he can overwhelm us with our weakness but if we become hyper aware of our weakness the scripture says that if we become if we become hyper aware of our weakness the scripture says that when Paul asked God to remove the thorn in his flesh he said my grace is sufficient for thee my strength is made perfect in your weakness if we become aware of our weakness and start trusting God's strength to have Victory instead of Manpower willpower ourselves to have Victory and just do it the way God said if I don't have I don't need any willpower to not eat the stuff that's not in my environment like if you if you used to have a drinking problem and you and you want to go by a bottle of iced tea a can of iced tea or a bottle of iced tea or a bottle of soda probably not good to go to the bar like just remove yourself from the environment or remove the environment move the the The fleshly Temptations from your environment because the scripture says this the wisdom that is from below is Earthly that's the world fleshly that's the Flesh and devilish that's the devil so we have to make sure that we are so full of God's word and God's wisdom that we can have Victory even against a triple threat I hope this video
