Paranoid Personality Disorder

Schizoid Personality Disorder

Schizotypal Personality Disorder
Bizarre speech and behavior, magical thinking, visual disturbances.
Similar to schizophrenia but with less intense/frequent psychotic episodes.
Cluster B: Impulsive and Dramatic Behavior
Most important for nursing exams.
Antisocial Personality Disorder
Violates social norms, history of physical violence, animal cruelty.
Aggressive, reckless, manipulative.
Borderline Personality Disorder
Intense mood swings, views things in extremes (splitting defense mechanism).
Unstable relationships, higher risk for self-harm and suicide.
Splitting and borderline personality disorder are closely linked.
Histrionic Personality Disorder
Likes being the center of attention, seductive, provocative.
Exaggerated emotions.
Narcissistic Personality Disorder
Grandiose sense of self, expects special treatment.
Lacks empathy, takes advantage of others.
Cluster C: Anxious or Fearful Behavior
Avoidant Personality Disorder
Low self-esteem, avoids social relationships due to fear of rejection.
Dependent Personality Disorder
Relies on others for decision-making, physical needs, self-worth.
Focused on pleasing others.
Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder
Inflexible, anxious, rule followers.
Perfectionists, difficulty forming relationships.
