Moto G85 Overview

♪ Cheerful music plays ♪ So, this is the newly released Moto G85. Recently, Motorola has been launching a lot of devices that compete in every budget. That way, they've launched this device for under 20K. If you ask whether it gives tough competition for under 20K? Yes, but only in a few things. That is.. First is its display. The display is something that's commonly seen in all phones. It has the same size, resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 1600 nits peak brightness, in-display fingerprint sensor, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, eye care protection, etc. It has all that. What's special about it is.. Look closely. It would be curved. There a few phones with curved display for this budget. This doesn't look like its one among them. This one looks unique. Because, it has a full view with less bezels and chins. Besides the fact that its a phone that costs 20K. What I exactly feel looking at in this panel is.. There is an iQOO phone that costs 25K. I think its Z7 Pro. It looks almost the same. Bring it for under 20K or 18K.. It's a really good thing for this budget. The colours looked good while watching videos, playing games and for usage. It was very smooth. We could feel the 120Hz refresh rate. They've made it very smooth. OS is also a reason for that. We'll talk about that later. Another highlight that we see in this 20K phone is.. It has a 5000mAh battery. It won't look like that. Because, its slim and weighs less. They've done a great job with weight management. They have given a 33W adapter for charging. Amongst companies that don't provide a charger for this budget, We can be happy it comes with a charger. But, 33W is less for 20K. Coming to battery life, Like all other phones, it'll last till evening under heavy usage. It'll definitely last a day under normal usage. Thirdly, its design. We've seen this in Moto a lot. But, what's special here is, They have used 3D vegan leather. They said that, we'll be able feel its good texture. There are 3 colors in total. They have chosen all 3 as Pantone colors. But, it's an earlier one and not from this year. It still looks good because of this camera. It doesn't have a huge camera module with 3 or 4 cameras. It's simple, neat and looks good. One main camera and one wide angle. The main camera is 50MP. The sensor used is Sony Lytia 600 with OIS support. The second one is wide angle. It's not the usual 2MP given for namesake. It has 2 reasonable cameras. The front selfie is 32MP. A plus in this is.. They've used Sony sensor for the first time in Moto G series. But, What's the use in having that? You can shoot videos only in 1080p 60fps. OIS and stability is all okay. But still, providing 1080p 60fps for under 20K.. I don't understand how its fair. Other than that, outdoor and indoor photos look good. Moto is doing a good job with optimization recently. It has the auto enhancement mode to boost colors that's seen on Moto phones. Dual capture, photo booth, Tilt shift. It has all that. Portrait photos looked good. Coming to the selfie, they say its 32MP. But, this is how it looks like. Outdoor photos look good. It feels indoor photos under low light misses a bit of details. They disappointed us by giving Full HD 60 on the back I thought it'll have the same 1080p 60 resolution in front. I am recording in 1080p 30. Can you see this shake? Because, our project will be in 60. I don't know why they couldn't provide that. Everyone has started giving it for 20K. Why? And also, this is how the audio and video quality in the front camera will be like. Okay. It is good. You guys say how it is. If you ask me how is the camera overall.. It is really good for 20K. I wish I could say so. But, I don't have that complete satisfaction. You guys will know why. They've done a good job. But, that's not enough. But, where they compensated that is.. you know it. The OS. Halo UI was updated recently. It also has Android 14. Last year, they provided only one OS update. This year, its 2 updates with security patch for 4 years. It has all the features that we see in Moto. We have Smart connect in top end phones, right? Accessing the phone by connecting it to a computer. Bringing the cursor to the phone. Accessing the phone from computer without touching the phone. Almost everything can be done here. All these are positives. Apart from that, since it is a curved panel let it be edge light notification or Moto's gestures They've done a brilliant job with the personalization. There is no problem at all. But, with Moto, OS that feels like stock Android is something that's well known. It can be felt here too. But, If you look carefully There are few bloatwares. But, we are able to uninstall these bloatwares. No matter what, it's a good OS for under 20k. Because, for this price, whether its iQOO, Vivo, Oppo, Oneplus.. Any phone that you buy in these 4 brands will have color OS. It will have Ad notifications and many bloatwares. It's quite clean when compared to that. We can remove the bloatwares and use it decently. If you see all that, this OS is quite the best for the price, right? Next is something that you are all eagerly waiting for. The SOC used on this phone is.. How do I say? Snapdragon.. [Keep going] Qualcomm. [Keep going] 6s Gen 3. [What!] Some brands provide really good SOCs for 20K. The AnTuTu score will be 6 lakhs, 7 lakhs.. But, over here The AnTuTu was not even 4 or 4.5 lakhs. That's because, this is not for gamers. For normal daily usage with the curved panel, OS experience, the features it has, This is made for people who want to experience that. They say that's what they aimed that. That way, it'll be good for day to day use. If you ask, can't I play games? You can play some games in low settings. But, the experience will not be that good. You can play small games in good settings. Nowadays, we get 4 lakhs AnTuTu score for 10K. An he does this. I forgot to tell you about the combination of hardware. There are two variants 8GB and 12GB. It uses LPDDR4X RAM. 256GB is the only storage available. You can use memory card if that's is not enough. But, it's a hybrid SIM slot. So, I'll definitely say not to go with it if you're looking for performance. This is not for our family. There are many better options for this price. Check that out. Fine! I thought it just this.. When I look for other features like speaker.. It said Dolby Atmos on top of the speaker. There is Hi-Res Audio support, stereo speaker, etc.. But when I look at it.. The sound was just okay. It has other features, like dual band Wi-fi There is 4 carrier aggregation support. There are 13 5G bands. The call quality was okay. These are the thing in Moto G85 5G. So, If you see the price, The actual price is 20K. They sat that, with offers it starts from 18K. I'll mention the exact price and offer details here and in the description. If you ask me, how is this phone for 20K? I told you in the very beginning for a few things. You would've understood that. If I have to make it simple I just want a small, lightweight, handy and a neat phone.. Also, it must be a curved panel for under 20K. The OS experience just needs to be smooth for daily use. I'll watch YouTube and chat. For those who think, that's enough for me. They might like it. But still.. You have to say whether you like it or not. They are launching phones that competes in all budget. They could've done the same here. I don't know why they failed to do it.
