Introduction to DC Motors

Torque and Coil Rotation

  • Torque nears zero when the coil is perpendicular to the magnetic flux, leading to irregular rotor motion.
  • Solution: Add more loops to the rotor with separate commutator pairs to ensure continuous torque.
