Exploring Patterns in Mathematics and Nature

[Music] good day everyone this is bachmann group 1 and our topic for today is about mathematics helps organize patterns and regularities in the world before we talk a little about this let's first determine what is pattern a pattern is irregularity in the world in human we decide when they abstract ideas such as the element of a pattern repeat in a predictable manner a geometric pattern is a kind of pattern form of geometric shapes and typically repeated like a wallpaper design any of the senses may directly observe patterns in mathematics patterns or numbers or anything range or order they are related to each other in a certain way patterns are designed that are orderly and that repeat but patterns can also be defined as anything that is not random in a sequence of two four six eight for example each number increases by sequence two so if we're going to find the next number it will be eight plus two and the next number will be ten pattern in nature are visible regularities of farm in the world these patterns can be sometimes be modeled mathematically and can be accurate in different contexts natural patterns includes symmetries fractals spirals fibonacci patterns and tessellations others in nature are the most common pattern that we used to see can be seen sometimes mathematically some are stripes and the usual pattern that we always see patterns can be benefits other designs because they can lead to building another design the biological patterns you may have heard of fibonacci sequence which is the sequence of numbers that goes 1 1 1 1 2 3 5 8 13 21 and so on each number is the sum of the two numbers sequence before it for example one plus one plus two plus two equals three three plus five equals eight and etc how does how does this work nature you see that some plants exhibit a fibonacci factor like right yes of a tree you start within the main branches at the bottom and it splits up so that you have two n splits of again so that you have three and so forth foundation within a honeybee colony also achieving a volatility pattern symmetry symmetry is when different sides of something are alike this reflection may be a mirror image with only two sides like the two sides of our bodies they may be symmetrical on several sides like the inside of an apple slice in half or they might be symmetrical on all sides like the different face of a cube we understand symmetry quite well in living organism because it is a function of the environment in order to balance we need to have a symmetrical body structure so we don't fall over from the imbalance with we have example of symmetry like broccoli honeycomb sunflower spider web snowflakes zebra old and a palm fractals are the neighbor ending patterns that repeat indefinitely as the pattern is iterated on an infinitely smaller scale we see this type of pattern in trees rivers mountains shells clouds nibs lightning and more tessellations are patterns that are formed by repeated cubes or types these two can occur with both living and non-living things the examples of desolations are pineapple and beehive scarce spirals are another common pattern in nature that we see more often in living things take up the herds of a chipped shell and of a neutral loose end the placement of leaves around the stem a special type of spiral logarithmic spiral is one of the great smallers it goes we see this pattern hurricanes galaxies and some seasons [Music] mathematics helps organize patterns and regularities in the world mathematics helps organize patterns and regularities in the world based from barbarian show 2018 mathematics has helped organize patterns and consistencies in the world because ones must know that there is always mathematics in almost everything in this world [Music] an example is an arrangement or grouping that repeats you can watch the signs things like use shapes activities or different arrangements that repeat all over consider words or tones in tunes lines and bends on structures or even in the market where boxes and containers of the paintings are arranged thus maybe that's the fascinating thing about math many things in our universe is pretty predictable asking the right questions hold the answers it's observing determining what you see asking questions about it gaining knowledge by finding an explanation testing if you're right or wrong always being weight is proof of not trying hard enough based on my opinion or my explanation is alas [Music] [Music] arrangement or groupings or design things like shapes activities or different arrangement that refits [Music] is [Music] trying hard enough which means mathematics helps organize patterns and regularities in the world according to bulla on 2018 mathematics will stay in our life forever because it is part of our journey in relation to fibonacci sequence which exists first in the old generation it is still existing in hours the contribution of fibonacci sequence is very essential by means of having the perfect measurement in doing something such as paintings pictures or anything that has something to do with measurements golden ratio is under the fibonacci sequence and it has also throw a big impact in our life scientists found the sunflower as a perfect example of something that has a golden ratio in it as people we can see what the microsoft sees in the sunflower using the microscope you will see the perfect shape measuring at 1.16814 which is the so-called golden ratio this arrangement ensures that each single seed in the flower receive the maximum amount of sunshine thus just like kem says that mathematics will always be in our life because it simply organized patterns and regularities in the world vitamins of it exists in everything that our eyes see our world will not be formed with the help of mathematics as the source of measuring something that is existing for example the building built by the engineers and architects are with the help of mud it can be symmetrical and sometimes asymmetrical depending to what they wanted it to be map also helps organize patterns and regularities in the animals animals with symmetrical are regarded as the most attractive by the both sexes the entire planet is connected these links and possibilities can be seen in everyday map the early young learners can put this talents into practice the more likely our culture and economy will remain innovative math is a great instrument for understanding and communicating on a global skill student can use it to make sense of the world and solve difficult real world challenges rethinking arithmetic in a global context gives kids a new perspective on traditional topics making math more relevant and meaningful to them [Music] you
