there's a lot of things that's going on in these first five books that we need to know in order to understand the New Testament in order to understand Christ okay so even these even these laws a lot of people like I don't really want to read Leviticus because it's so many you know it's just born he talked about flower and food and sacrifice and this and that but believe it or not has a lot of offering up their sacrifices for the people and for themselves for you what you got verse 10 and that which is left of the meat offering shall be Aaron's and his son come on it is a thing most holy of going on with the Passover with Christ and all of these things are symbolic of what was to come when when you read in the scriptures how it says it was a shadow of things to come you when you start bringing the firstfruits that's what he was doing Reed and Abel he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof and of the fat thereof so Reed and the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering read but unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect come on and Cain was very wroth and his countenance fell so sacrifices are also symbolic of your works the sacrifices we make today right certain sacrifices the the Lord knows how much you can how much you can do for this truth how much you could give he knows if you're being slack if you're being slothful if you're being cheap and he knows if you're actually doing more than the next he knows you're doing um if you're going above and beyond let's put it that way the Lord understands that Abel was going above and for sweet savour come on and every oblation of thy meat offering shalt our season with salt neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of that God to be lacking from thy meat offering with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt you see that now I know they don't seen it I know you've seen what Esau know put no salt on his food you understand this was we even got a salt covenant with the Lord well we when the Lord says we disorder the earth he's talking about it physically - you put salt in your food you gonna offer something you gonna cook something a whip something up for me you better season that thing you know what I'm saying only people don't season a food as you know who - he them they don't season a food you know I mean so it says we even have a we have a covenant with it of the herd whether it be a male or female he shall offer it without blemish before the Lord you see that he said any animal it's not supposed to have a bruise a cut a stain no blemish no nothing it can't be superfluous got an extra eyeball of something no he says he says it should have no blemish whatever the sacrifices it for the Lord they have to be the best of the best it has to be a flawless sacrifice let's get an example of how they did that give me Exodus chapter 12 and verse 3 Exodus chapter 12 and reverse three exodus chapter 12 verse 3 come on speak ye until all the congregation of israel saying in the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb according to the house of their fathers a lamb for in house and if the household be too little for the lamb let him and his neighbor next unto his house take it according to the neighbor the number of the souls every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb free your lamb shall be without blemish you see that this said lamb it didn't say chicken message it did say chicken is not saying it said your lamb should be without blemish key key part without blemish read a male and you keep it away from the goats as well read and you shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month come on and the whole Assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening and they shall take of the blood and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper doorpost of the houses wherein they shall eat it so when you when you read earlier in verse 6 it says you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the seventh of the same month so you separated it right and why did you keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month because and you kept it away from the goats why did why would he keep it away from the goats because if it gets in a fight there to have a blemish and to get a bruise there to get it cut so you isolate you isolate the actual land not only that you give it nothing but water to eat so that it purifies itself that's what you do so that's purifying itself okay read verse 7 verse 8 and they shall eat the flesh in that night roast with fire and unleavened bread and with bitter herbs they shall eat it come on eat not of it raw so you have to cook it come on nor sodden at all with water you're not supposed to boil it read but roast blemish because they were symbolic of Christ the sacrificial law was symbolic of Christ's coming free and he shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering and kill it at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation and Aaron's sons the priests shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about three and he shall offer of the sacrifice of the peace offering an offering made by fire unto the Lord the fact that covered the inwards and all the fat that has upon the inwards and the two kidneys and the fact that is on them which is by the flanks and the call above the liver with the kidneys
