no point in looking back now there's just death and a lot of it and i couldn't have said that any better myself hello exile i'll take 2k here one of the big changes in the game now is there is an awful lot more spells and you've got to be able to mitigate those so how do we do that one is to get max spell to version so we take half damage from spells the second is to get 50 spell block or above preferably more you need that now practically on every character unless you're going to do something silly like max q resists at 90 using everything on the tree and a load of gear along with physical damage reduction so there's sort of three ways i look at getting it the character needs one of those or you're gonna die an awful lot second elemental ailments they're a real problem shock now is lethal it always was pretty lethal but now it's even worse you must have on practically every character a way of mitigating shock either reducing it or getting rid of it completely freeze will also get you killed so so much get an anti-freeze method the easiest method for that is get solar the brian king and get the freeze immunity often simple as that resistances i know i sort of briefly talked about those but chaos resistance is something i don't normally talk about and that's because it really hasn't been important until now now that's changed there are so many more monsters now that do chaos damage and you've got to be able to mitigate it i am no longer suggesting that you leave your chaos resistance at minus 60. it wants to be at least zero preferably slightly positive the higher you've got the more chance you've got to survive next is the atlas passive tree they have made several changes to it this league and a lot of it has got me killed firstly unless you've got a really high-end character do not go eldridge gays or wrath of the cosmos they're gonna get you killed wrath of the cosmos makes you take 25 increased damage from each altar in the area four of those is a hundred percent more damage it's double damage it's incredibly lethal and i went for it because currency is great and i wanted all of it but um yeah it's going to get you killed don't do it now the ulcers can cause two different problems one is you can't kill the bloody monster second is you can kill it but it's gonna kill you several times before you kill it in general you've gotta be extremely careful i tend to only get two or three now the moment i think it's getting a bit risky i stop you're still getting some bonus but don't overdo it to the extent that you die now the other thing the tree gives you is lots of ways of making uber bosses they're the level 85 variants of the hard end game bosses that are normally level 75. you don't want to rush for these because it can make the bosses almost unkillable and unless you've already got those bosses you're going to lose out on your map progression okay the next thing i'm going to talk about is map mods they have always been rather difficult to deal with you've had to be really careful but now more than ever because there's so much more that's going to kill you and some of them really synergize well with the archenemesis mods from a defensive standpoint don't get anything that shuts off your life if you need life and you don't get leech same with leech same with block losing 30 of your 50 block is really bad news really carefully pick your map mods learn what's going to get you killed and don't run it next map progression i know this is a touchy subject people like to get to t16 as quickly as possible so they're making money that's not necessarily the right thing to do i was doing that early in the league rushing to the highest level maps possible and that was getting me killed over and over again which made me miserable it's far better to stay in yellow maps that little bit longer until your character feels comfortable maybe two you've got level 20 gems and then progress you gain so much by doing that because you're leveling your character you're getting more points on the skill tree and you are getting a passive income to upgrade your gear okay next one learn your map bosses some map bosses are really bad for your character others are fine crimson township i think it's called i hate that map it kills most of my characters because most of them are melee and most of them have very little defense against damage over time and those big damage of time things on the floor get me over and over again i do not run that map anymore i get completion on it and that is it other tier 16 map bosses are much much easier to deal with and use your preferred maps to really cherry pick the map bosses you want now as you probably know the best way of staying alive is to have a really big life call it stops those one shots and then you just to worry about death by a thousand papercuts of which there are lots of now chances of that happening so you want a really strong passive regen one of the things you can do there is getting the leech off the tree or life on hit off the tree but something i don't normally suggest is using things like poacher's mark or assassin's mark that give you life and mana each time you hit on top of that you can use things like enduring cry to give you that massive life regen i've been using that on characters for a couple of leagues now but in this league i found it to be really really invaluable the next thing i have for you is try and do more damage that might sound a bit weird i've been talking about stacking defenses but the more damage you do the quicker you kill the enemy the better we're all gonna be how can we do that without investment early game first thing is your first priority should be getting off your falling onto either a five link or a six link these can be hard to get early game but there's a couple of really good ways of getting them one of the ways of getting a five link really early is to run harvest it gives you a high chance of getting five link the next one is six links can be got from valve side areas one enough for them you're gonna drop a six link if you can't afford one it's a good way of going now i really wouldn't suggest you jump straight to a tabby whilst they're probably the cheaper of all the six links early game they just don't give you any defenses and in this league you want it now as long as you've got like 25 chaos you're going to be able to pick up a decent chest i would suggest having at least 100 life on it now another thing that's going to get you killed quite often is interaction with past lead mechanics one of which is the immortal syndicate and the ones that just jump in on top of you especially when you've just started a ritual or something and the best way to deal with that is to block it so what do i mean by that if you leave it open there's a chance of it spawning however if you block it with nico the chances are you're not gonna get them which is good for your survivability now on top of past league mechanics the current league mechanic is pretty rippy especially if you open it when there's an einar mob around or something like that and the other thing i found was if i'm panicking i tend to hit f2 and launch my sentinel making the whole situation even worse if that's happening to you a lot unequip your sentinel and only equip it before you're going to use it now if you've made it this far into the video i wanted to give you a bonus tip but first i'd just like to say if you're enjoying this video or finding it useful then please tickle that like button it helps me out a lot and the like button likes it quite a bit as well so my bonus tip one of the great ways of getting extra power on your character is to increase your level that can be quite difficult if you're dying so if you're dying a lot charge up your bar for delve and go delving so why delve because you've still got all the arch nemesis mod so what's the bonus there the key thing is you're not getting loads and loads of map mods on it you're getting a couple for the area the second thing is there are no really hard bosses that are going to kill you there's just the bosses you expect which don't do an awful lot of damage and lastly there's no interaction from previous league mechanics like syndicate jumping into so it's a lot more survivable especially when i'm leveling over 90 i try and get to that level where i know i've just got enough delve juice to finish off my level and then i'll go and run it i do hope this video helps you stay alive a lot more than
