here's cardiff rugby physio ben warburton's guide on how to tape a shoulder for rugby players in just 90 seconds and using only three tapes fixation tape zinc oxide tape and eab first up grab your fixation tape cut it to length and stick it on the front of the chest as far down as you possibly can wrap it over the shoulder and give it a rub at the back now your anchors grab your zinc oxide tape and stick a strip down over the top of the fixation tape then one around the bicep tense the bicep as you do to stop any chance of it over compressing then we're going to stick on some vertical strips going from bottom to top give the tape a nice pull to lift that shoulder on every strip now we're going to block off some external rotation come from the back of the arm around to the front of the chest the lower you go the more restriction you're going to give create an x around the shoulder from front to back and repeat for a couple more strips then if your budget allows grab your eab and overlay everything that's going to give it some nice protection during the game and help everything stay in place re-anchor over the shoulder with your zinc oxide tape and then over the top again with your fixation tape look how secure that shoulder is and notice the restricted external rotation job done
