have you ever wondered why God made the Sabbath the only commandment he specifically told us to remember the truth is there's a profound reason behind this Divine emphasis that Satan doesn't want you to know the Bible warns us about a power that would think to change times and laws in Daniel 7:25 could this prophecy be linked to the shift from Sabbath to Sunday worship that many Christians have embraced from the dawn of creation the Sabbath has stood as a testament to God's infinite wisdom and love for Humanity but why is it that today many Christians are distancing themselves from this sacred command stay until the end as you will understand how this entire discussion will culminate in the Infamous Mark of the Beast a counterfeit of God's seal which has generated so much speculation you will comprehend why the Sabbath is something Satan despises and has most distorted but let's not get ahead of ourselves let's take a moment to truly understand the weight of this command the Sabbath isn't just another rule in a long list of dos and don'ts it's mentioned more times in scripture than any other commandment more than thou shalt not kill more than thou shalt not steal why because it's that important picture this a bustling Marketplace in ancient Jerusalem the air thick with the scent of spices and the chatter of merchants but as the sun begins to set on Friday evening a hush Falls over the city shops close families gather and for 20 24 hours the world stops this is the power of the Sabbath now let's turn to Exodus 20 here nestled among the thunderous Declarations of God's law we find the fourth Commandment remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy six days shalt thou labor and do all thy work but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God Exodus 20 8-10 notice the first word remember even then God knew we'd be prone to forget but why why is this day so crucial the answer lies in the very nature of God for in six days the Lord made Heaven and Earth the sea and all that in them is and rested the seventh day wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it Exodus 2011 the Sabbath is a weekly reminder of our creator a testament to his power and an invitation to rest in his presence yet despite its prominence despite its divine origin there are forces at work seeking to undermine this sacred institution Daniel peering Through The Mists of time saw a power that would think to change times and laws Daniel 7:25 this wasn't just idle speculation this was a prophecy a warning of a time when the very foundations of Faith would be shaken that we will explore later in this video throughout history we've seen attempts to alter religious practices to rewrite the calendar to shift our Focus from God's appointed times to man-made Traditions but here's the truth no earthly power no matter how Grand can change what God has established so as we stand here today we must ask ourselves are we among those abandoning this biblical command have we allowed the noise of the world to drown out the call to remember or will we stand firm honoring the day that God himself set apart the choice is ours but remember in a world that never stops in a culture that values productivity Above All Else the Sabbath isn't just a good idea it's a Lifeline a weekly reset a Divine appointment with the creator of the universe as we delve deeper into this topic we'll uncover more truths more reasons why the Sabbath isn't just a relic of the past but a vital part of our present and future but for now let this sink in God didn't just suggest the Sabbath he commanded it and in that command lies a blessing waiting to be claimed is the Sabbath only for Jews or is it a gift for all Humanity this question has echoed through the corridors of time stirring debate and division but to find the answer we must Journey Back to the very dawn of creation to a time before Nations before tribes before the concept of Jew or Gentile even existed picture it a pristine World fresh from the hands of the Creator the air crisp with possibility the Earth teeming with new life and there in the midst of this Cosmic Symphony we find these words and and on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made and God blessed the seventh day and Sanctified it Genesis 22 and 3 notice the timing this wasn't after The Exodus this wasn't after the giving of the law at SI this was at the very beginning when the only humans in existence were Adam and Eve they weren't Jewish they were simply human and to them God gave the gift of the Sabbath but let's fast forward centuries have passed the descendants of Abraham have multiplied and find themselves slaves in Egypt God in his Mercy leads them out with a mighty hand and as they wander in the wilderness hungry and uncertain he provides Mana but there's a catch six days ye shall gather it but on the seventh day which is the Sabbath in it there shall be none Exodus 16:26 why is this significant because this is before the Ten Commandments were given at SI the Sabbath wasn't A New Concept introduced with the law it was a reminder of an ancient truth as old as creation itself now consider this during their captivity in Egypt the Israelites were surrounded by a foreign culture that did not honor their God or his Commandments this cultural immersion led many to forget the practices and precepts that had once been Central to their identity it's within this context that we hear the command ment in Exodus 20 beginning with a powerful reminder remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy Exodus 28 the word remember is crucial it wasn't about introducing something new but about recalling and realigning with a Divine principle that had been there from the beginning this theme of forgetting and remembering isn't unique to ancient Israel it resonates with Believers today in our fast-paced modern world many have lost sight of the importance of the Sabbath the Relentless pace of life with its Myriad distractions pulls us away from spiritual rest and reflection why remember why not just keep the Sabbath holy it's as if God peering through the corridors of time saw a future where his people would be tempted to forget to neglect to change this sacred institution and oh how prophetic that warning is proven to be how some might argue but wasn't the Sabbath given specifically to the Jews it's a fair question after all we see it prominently featured in The Covenant God made with Israel but let's look closer at the Commandment itself but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God in it Thou shalt not do any work thou nor thy son nor thy daughter thy man servant nor thy maid servant nor thy cattle nor thy stranger that is within thy Gates Exodus 20:10 did you catch that nor thy stranger even non-israelites within their Community were to observe the sabbath this wasn't about nationality this was about Humanity's relationship with its creator but the story doesn't end there let's Leap Forward in time to the prophet Isaiah in a vision of the future he declares also the sons of the stranger that join themselves to the Lord to serve him and to love the name of the Lord to be his servants everyone that keepeth the Sabbath from polluting it and taketh hold of my Covenant even them will I bring to my Holy Mountain and make them joyful In My House of Prayer Isaiah 566 and 7 this is a prophecy of inclusion not exclusion it's a vision of a time when people from all nations would come to worship the true God and Central to that worship the Sabbath and here's something fascinating throughout history cultures around the world have recognized the concept of a 7-Day week with one day set apart for rest from ancient Babylonians to the aen people of West Africa this pattern emerges it's as if encoded in the very fabric of human society there's a memory of that first Sabbath in Eden but let's bring it back to the Wilderness to those Israelites learning to trust God day by day each week as they gathered Mana they were faced with a choice would they trust God's provision and rest on the seventh day or would they go out searching for food that wouldn't be there their observance of the Sabbath wasn't just about following a rule it was a weekly Act of Faith a declaration that they believed in a God who provides who cares who invites his creation into rest as we Ponder these truths we begin to see the Sabbath not as a restrictive law for one group but as a universal gift a weekly reminder of our origin our purpose and our destiny it's an invitation extended to all Humanity to step out of the chaos of our own making and into the Peace of God's presence the Sabbath a day of rest a day of worship a day set apart but is it just a quaint tradition a relic of a bygone era or is it something more something foundational to our very Faith let's dig deeper imagine if you will a massive skyscraper its Spire pierces the clouds its foundations run deep into the Bedrock this skyscraper is our faith and what's holding all together the Commandments of God but here's the thing about faith it's not just about believing it's about doing James the brother of Jesus put it bluntly even so faith if it hath not works is dead being alone James 2:17 faith without action is like a car without wheels it might look good but it's not going anywhere and one of the most tangible most visible actions of our faith but here's the beautiful thing about God's law it's not a whim not a fleeting thought not something that changes with the Winds of cultural shift no it's as immutable as God himself listen to the words of the psalmist my Covenant will I not break nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips Psalm 89:34 what God has spoken he will not change God did not merely speak but inscribe The Ten Commandments with his own finger on two tablets of stone it is the only part of the Bible written by God's own hand what value is ascribed to something so Sacred by those who consider it outdated or restricted to a single people picture if you will a world spinning in chaos Nations rising and falling Empires crumbling to dust and in the midst of it all a people set apart marked not by territory or tongue but by time itself for as the Lord declared through the prophet Ezekiel and hallow my sabbaths and they shall be assigned between me and and you that ye may know that I am the Lord your God Ezekiel 20:20 this sign this sabbath it's like a wedding ring on the finger of time it declares to all creation we belong to the lord of the universe but oh how easy it is to let human Traditions Cloud our vision to let the Commandments of men overshadow the perfect law of God didn't our Lord himself warn us but in vain they do worship me teaching for doctrines the Commandments of men Matthew 15:9 now some might say but didn't Jesus come to do away with all these old laws ah but let's hear from the master's own lips think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets I am not come to destroy but to fulfill for verily I say unto you till Heaven and Earth pass one jot or one TT shall in no wise pass from the law till all be fulfilled Matthew 5:17 and 18 imagine a MAG magnificent tapestry woven with threads of gold and silver would you say the artist destroyed it by completing the final stitches of course not Jesus didn't come to unravel the law but to reveal its full Beauty and depth so when we hear voices saying the Sabbath is outdated that it's been changed or abolished we must ask ourselves who has the authority to change what God has established who dares to alter what the creator of the universe has set in stone the Sabbath stands as a weekly testament to God's creative power his Redemptive love and his unchanging character it's not just a day off work it's a day to remember who we are who we are and why we're here as we continue to explore the depths of this Divine institution let's hold fast to this Truth The God Who created time itself has set apart a specific time for us a time to rest to worship to remember and in a world that's is constantly trying to make us forget that remembrance is more crucial than ever Jesus and the Sabbath a relationship that has sparked controversy ignited debates and challenged our understanding of Divine Law and human tradition but what did Jesus the very embodiment of God's law actually say and do regarding the Sabbath let's start with a prophecy picture this Jesus sitting on the Mount of Olives his disciples gathered around him he's speaking of future Trials of a time when his followers would face persecution and in the midst of this dire warning he says something remarkable but pray ye that your flight be not in the winter neither on the Sabbath day Matthew 24:20 now think about this Jesus is speaking of events that would unfold decades after his death and Resurrection yet he assumes his followers will still be observing the Sabbath this isn't a casual mention it's a tacid endorsement of Sabbath keeping in the Christian era but let's rewind to The Darkest Day in human history the day the Son of God lay dead in a tomb Luke tells us that after Jesus body was placed in the Seiler his female followers returned and prepared spices and ointments and rested the Sabbath day according to the Commandment Luke 23:56 even in their grief even with the Urgent task of properly anointing Jesus body these women chose to honor the Sabbath and notice this is after Jesus's death the old Covenant has been fulfilled yet the Sabbath remains in fact there's a beautiful symmetry here just as God rested on the seventh day after completing creation so Christ rested in the Tomb on the Sabbath after completing his work of redemption the Sabbath it seems is woven into the very fabric of God's dealings with Humanity but what about Jesus own words and actions regarding the Sabbath he made a bold claim for the son of man is Lord even of the Sabbath day Matthew 12:8 this isn't just a statement of authority it's a declaration of ownership the Sabbath isn't just any day it's the Lord's day as John would later affirm in Revelation 1:10 John tells us he was in the spirit on the Lord's Day some have argued this refers to Sunday but let's look back to the prophet Isaiah Who quotes God as saying if thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath from doing thy pleasure on my holy day Isaiah 58:13 the Sabbath it seems is the original Lord's day and how did Jesus the Lord of the Sabbath observed this day Luke gives us a glimpse and he came to Nazareth where he had been brought up and as his custom was he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day and stood up for it to read Luke 4:16 this wasn't a one-off event it was his custom his regular practice but Jesus didn't just passive ly observe the sabbath he actively demonstrated its true purpose time and again we see him performing miracles on the Sabbath Healing The Sick casting out demons restoring the broken when challenged on this his response was clear it is lawful to do well on the Sabbath days Matthew 12:12 fast forward a bit the Apostle Paul that tireless missionary is spreading the gospel far and wide we find him in Antioch and what's he doing and when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath acts 13:42 Paul doesn't say no need to wait let's meet tomorrow that's our new holy day instead he returns the next Sabbath and came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God acts 13:44 this pattern repeats throughout Paul's Ministry Sabbath after Sabbath we find him in the synagogues reasoning with both Jews and Gentiles if there had been a divinely sanctioned change to Sunday worship wouldn't this have been the perfect opportunity to make that clear now imagine you're a gentile convert in the early church you've heard the gospel you've accepted Jesus as your savior and now you're learning about this thing called the Sabbath It's New to You foreign even but week after week you see the apostles and other believers setting this day apart you hear the stories of creation of The Exodus of of Jesus himself observing this day slowly it begins to make sense this isn't just a Jewish custom this is a Divine appointment a weekly reminder of your Creator and Redeemer imagine a world where every Sabbath was filled with acts of kindness healing and restoration this is the Sabbath Jesus embodied not a day of restrictive rules but a day of Freedom a day to do good a day to experience and share God's love the truth can be unsettling even shocking but it's time we faced it head on the change of the Sabbath from the seventh day to the first day of the week wasn't a Divine decree it wasn't inscribed in stone by the Finger of God no this change was a gradual almost imperceptible shift that took place over centuries and the evidence it's right there in the pages of History let's start with a simple fact the scriptures nowhere call the first day of the week the Sabbath these aren't my words they're the words of the Watchmen a Baptist publication they go on to say there is no scriptural Authority for so doing nor of course any scriptural obligation but if not from scripture where did this change come from the Hobart Church news and Episcopalian publication tells us plainly the observance of the first instead of the seventh day rests on the testimony of the church and the church alone now picture this it's the early centuries of the Christian era the followers of Jesus are spreading across the Roman Empire they're meeting in homes in catacombs wherever they can gather safely and on which day are they meeting archdeacon FW Ferrar in his book The Voice from Sinai tells us the Christian Church made no formal but a gradual and almost unconscious transference of the one day to the other but this wasn't a universal change far from it so men a historian from the 5ifth century paints a vivid picture the people of Constantinople and of several other cities assembled together on the Sabbath as well as on the next day can you imagine it Christians gathering for worship on both Saturday and Sunday holding on to the Sabbath even as New Traditions began to emerge how long did this continue Professor E breerwood of Gresham College London an Episcopalian scholar tells us the Sabbath was religiously observed in the Eastern Church 300 years and more after our savior's passion But as time went on things began to change Lyman Coleman a careful historian notes down even to the fifth century the observance of The Jewish Sabbath was continued in the Christian church but with a rigor and solemnity gradually diminishing until it was wholly discontinued yet even in this change there was resistance Socrates another fifth century historian writes almost all the churches throughout the world celebrate the sacred mysteries on the Sabbath of every week yet the Christian of Alexandria and at Rome on account of some ancient tradition refused to do this do you see the pattern emerging Rome the seat of ecclesiastical power was leading the charge away from Sabbath observance but why why this gradual shift away from a day that God himself had set apart and blessed the Bible doesn't whisper a word about Sunday replacing the Sabbath not a jot not a tit instead when we look at how we're to remember Christ's death and Resurrection we find something quite different Paul tells us in Romans know ye not that so many of us as we baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the father even so we also should walk in newness of Life Romans 63 and4 you see it's not a weekly observance that commemorates the resurrection it's the powerful symbol of baptism each time a Believer is immersed in those Waters they're reenacting the death burial and resurrection of Our Lord so why then do so many cling to Sunday as if it were the new Sabbath perhaps it's tradition perhaps it's convenience but shouldn't our worship be shaped by thus saith the Lord rather than thus saith man the Sabbath stands as a testament to God's creative and Redemptive power it's a weekly reminder that our rest is found not in our own works but in his it points back to Creation yes but it also points forward to the new creation when all things will be made new the shift from the original Sabbath raises profound questions while human actions undeniably shaped this change a malevolent Force masterminded the plot this video will expose The Hidden Hand behind this transformation the change from Sabbath to Sunday a transformation that shook the foundations of faith and reshaped the landscape of Christianity but how did it happen and more importantly why the answer lies in the corridors of power in ancient Rome picture this it's the year 321 ad Constantine the Great the first Roman Emperor to profess Christianity issues an edict the Encyclopedia Britannica tells us the earliest recognition of the observance of Sunday as a legal duty is a constitution of Constantine in 321 ad enacting that all courts of J inhabitants of towns and workshops were to be at rest on Sunday VAB die soless but what did this edict actually say let's hear it in Constantine's own words let all the judges and town people and the occupation of all trades rest on the venerable day of the Sun but let those who are situated in the country freely and at full Liberty attend to the business of Agriculture notice something peculiar this law doesn't mention the Sabbath or even Christianity it speaks of the venerable day of the Sun a clear nod to the Pagan Sun worship that was still prevalent in the Empire this wasn't a Christian law it was a political one designed to unite a diverse empire under a common day of rest as we've seen this law mandated rest on the venerable day of the Sun but why did Constantine choose Sunday the answer lies in the political and religious landscape of the time Constantine though professing Christianity was still deeply connected to Sun worship by choosing son day he could appease both the growing Christian population and the pagans who worshiped the son it was a masterful political move aimed at unifying his diverse empire under a common day of rest but the church didn't immediately abandon the Sabbath as William prin noted it is certain that Christ himself his Apostles and the Primitive Christians for some good space of time did constantly observe the seventh day Sabbath this is corroborated by Mo a church of England clergyman who stated that early Christians had a great veneration for the Sabbath and spent the day in devotion and sermons so how did Sunday worship gain prominence neander the respected church historian provides a crucial Insight opposition to Judaism introduced the particular Festival of Sunday very early indeed into the place of the Sabbath this opposition to Judaism combined with the political support for Sunday rest gradually pushed the church away from Sabbath of observance the process was slow and as archdeacon Farrar put it almost unconscious but it gained momentum over time in 196 ad Victor the bishop of Rome made the first attempt to impose Sunday observance by trying to standardize the celebration of Easter on Sunday Dr Bower calls this the first essay of papal usurpation the Council of nyia in 325 ad further cemented Sunday's importance by fixing Easter on Sunday Constantine in urging churches to comply revealed the anti-jewish sentiment driving this change let us have nothing in common with the most hostile Rabel of the Jews finally in 3064 ad the Council of leoda took the DraStic step of forbidding Sabbath observance and mandating Sunday worship Christians who continued to judaize by keeping the Sabbath were to be shut out from Christ this gradual shift from Sabbath to Sunday wasn't based on biblical command as Dr Lyman Abbott candidly admitted the current notion that Christ and his Apostles authoritatively substituted the first day of the week for the seventh is absolutely without any Authority in the New Testament instead it was a change driven by anti-jewish sentiment political expediency and The Growing Power of the Roman Church the mixing of pagan Sunday worship with the biblical Sabbath was a compromise that fundamentally altered Christian practice moving it away from its Jewish roots and towards a new distinct disly Roman form of Christianity as we reflect on this historical Journey we're faced with a profound question if this change wasn't commanded by God if it was the result of human tradition and political maneuvering how should it impact our understanding and practice of faith today this is the challenge that faces every sincere seeker of Truth as we grapple with the legacy of this Monumental shift in Christian worship yet this change didn't come out of nowhere in in fact it was prophesied centuries earlier the Prophet Daniel peering Through The Mists of time saw a power that would think to change times and laws Daniel 7:25 this power described as speaking great words against the most high and wearing out the Saints of the most high has long been identified by many Bible scholars as the Roman Catholic Church imagine if you will a world where the very foundations of Divine Law are shaken where human authority dares to challenge the of the almighty this is precisely what Daniel foresaw a power so audacious that it would attempt to rewrite God's Commandments but why why would this power seek to change the very day that God himself had set apart and blessed consider these words from the converts catechism of Catholic Doctrine we observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday this bold declaration reveals a startling truth the change was not based based on scripture but on Church Authority the Catholic church in its own words boldly claims the authority to change God's laws in the abridgment of Christian doctrine by Reverend Henry tuberville the church admits by the very Act of changing the Sabbath into Sunday which Protestants allow of and therefore they fondly contradict themselves by keeping Sunday strictly and breaking most other feast days commanded by the same church this is a clear acknowledgement of the church's role in altering the Sabbath a change not based on scripture but on ecclesiastical power the shift from Sabbath to Sunday was not instantaneous it was a gradual deliberate process the Council of leoda in 364 ad marked the beginning of Sunday observance being encouraged slowly replacing the true Sabbath as Cardinal Gibbons admitted you may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday the scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday a day which we never sanctify the papacy by its own admission has altered the Commandment of God Shifting the day of worship without any biblical mandate Protestant writers though claiming to adhere to the Bible alone also acknowledg this the New York weekly Tribune in 1900 noted neither Christ nor his Apostles nor the first Christians celebrated the first day of the week instead of the seventh as the Sabbath the cathol Church confidently asserts that this change was made by its own authority Reverend Steven Keenan's doctrinal catechism plainly states had she not such power she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday the first day of the week for the observance of Saturday the seventh day a change for which there is no scriptural Authority the Catholic mirror official organ of Cardinal Gibbons also declared the Catholic Church by virtue of her Divine Mission changed the day from Saturday to Sunday priest Brady in an address reported in the Elizabeth NJ news on March 18th 1903 made it clear it is well to remind the Presbyterians Baptists methodists and all other Christians that the Bible does not support them anywhere in their observance of Sunday Sunday is an institution of the Roman Catholic church and those who observe the day observe a commandment of the Catholic Church finally as our Sunday visitor pointed out on February 5th 1950 Protestants accept Sunday rather than Saturday is the day for public worship after the Catholic Church made the change but the Protestant mind does not seem to realize that in observing Sunday they are accepting the authority of the spokesman for the church the Pope the Catholic church in its own Publications and statements has openly acknowledged its role in changing the day of worship from Saturday to Sunday this isn't a hidden secret or a contested claim it's a fact proudly proclaimed by the church itself but Daniel wasn't the only Prophet to warn us the Apostle Paul in his second letter to the Thessalonians spoke of a man of sin who would exalt himself above God in chapter 2: 3 and 4 he writes let no man deceive you by any means for that day shall not come except there come a falling away first and that man of sin be revealed the son of predition who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped so that he is God sth in the temple of God showing himself that he is God consider the gravity of these words Paul speaks of a power that would dare to sit in God's Temple claiming Divine Authority is this not precisely what we see in the Roman Catholic Church's assertion of its right to change God's law Imagine The Throne of God a place of unimaginable Majesty where the almighty sits surrounded by his cherubim these Heavenly beings stand on either side their presence symbolizing the Holiness and Authority of God in Ezekiel 10 we see this Divine scene where the cherubim with their many wings and faces are positioned around the throne guarding it and proclaiming the glory of the one who sits upon it this is a throne that represents ultimate power Justice and Purity a place where God's law and presence are upheld with reverence in this context let us look at the role of the Pope within the Roman Catholic Church the pope is often referred to as the Vicor of Christ claiming a position of Spiritual Authority authority over all Christians historically the Catholic church has asserted its right to alter the very law of God most notably in changing the Sabbath from the seventh day as commanded in Exodus 208 to11 to the first day of the week Sunday this change not rooted in scripture is a striking example of what Paul warned against a human power elevating itself above God's expressed will now picture this the Pope the leader of the Roman Catholic Church Seated on his throne this Throne is not just a seat of religious Authority but a symbol of power adorned in Gold Often flanked by statues or images of cherubim the setting mimics God's throne room with the Pope positioned as the central figure surrounded by symbols that evoke the Heavenly Throne this is not just a spiritual usurpation it is a physical one as well the Pope's Throne is designed to mirror the majesty and authority of God's Throne as scripture describes it's a deliberate representation almost a reenact where the pope takes a seat that visually and symbolically places him in the role of God on Earth but let's pause for a moment and consider a simple illustration imagine you're given a beautiful watch as a gift from your father it's a family heirloom passed down through generations one day a stranger comes along and says that watch is lovely but I think it would be better if it ran backwards let me change it for you would you allow it of course not the watch's value lies not just in its function but in its connection to your father and your family history in the same way the Sabbath is not just a day it's a sign of our relationship with our heavenly father a memorial of creation a weekly reminder of his love and authority to change it is to tamper with the very fabric of our relationship with God as we reflect on these truths let's remember again the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:18 for verily I say unto you till Heaven and Earth pass one jot or one tit shall in no wise pass from the law till all be fulfilled God's law is eternal unchanging a reflection of his perfect character so my friends as we see these ancient prophecies fulfilled before our very eyes let us stand firm on the unchanging word of God let us honor his law including his Sabbath not because of human tradition or authority but because it is a Divine institution a blessing given to us by our loving creator now let's dive deeper in the connection between the Sabbath and the mark of the beast the Bible speaks of a seal a mark of divine Authority in Revelation 7 2 and 3 we read of an Angel having the Seal of the Living God but what is this seal it's not a physical Mark but a spiritual sign of Allegiance now let's turn to Exodus 3113 where God declares verily my sabbaths ye shall keep for it is a sign between me and you throughout your Generations that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you the Sabbath my friends is God's seal his Mark of authority and ownership but why does Satan hate the Sabbath with such vehement why has he worked tirelessly to replace it with Sunday worship the answer lies in the very nature of the Sabbath itself you see the Sabbath is a weekly reminder of God's creative and Redemptive power it points us back to Creation where God spoke the world into existence and rested on the seventh day but it also points us forward to Redemption the recreation of our hearts and Minds in Christ's image Satan in his prideful Rebellion seeks to usurp God's Authority by attacking the Sabbath he strikes at the very heart of God's law and his claim as Creator and Redeemer the Sunday Sabbath instituted by human authority becomes a counterfeit seal a mark of allegiance to Earthly Powers rather than to the god of heaven but let me paint a picture for you imagine two banners flying over the world on one side the Sabbath God's seal a symbol of loyalty to his law and recognition of his authority on the other Sunday the mark of the beast a sign of submission to human tradition and Earthly Powers remember the words of Jesus in John 14:15 if ye love me keep my Commandments the Sabbath is not just about a day it's about recognizing God's Authority in our lives about entering into his rest and allowing him to sanctify us the verses discussing this Mark are found in the last book of the Bible Revelation Revelation means a revealing and the first verse tells us this is the revelation of Jesus so this is something Jesus himself wants to reveal to us did Jesus intend to say something so vague that people would be confused for centuries generating countless theories about what the mark of the beast is leaving many scared and puzzled absolutely not Jesus Revelations are meant to be clear the problem is many Christians don't consider the context of this Mark of the Beast scenario at the time this Mark is inforced the entire population is divided into two camps the Bible says and they worshiped the dragon which gave power unto the Beast and they worshiped the Beast saying who is like unto the Beast who is able to make war with him and all that dwell upon the Earth shall worship Him whose names are not written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world Revelation 13:4 and8 two groups one described as almost everyone on Earth and a much smaller group with their names in The Book of Life what distinguishes these two groups the word worship is key the vast majority will worship the Beast and the dragon while a small group will worship Jesus the lamb this entire end time scenario is about who you worship another Bible passage says let no man deceive you by any means for that day shall not come except there come a falling away first and that man of sin be revealed the son of predition who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped so that he is God sth in the temple of God showing himself that he is God 2 Thessalonians 2:3 and 4 this end time power also known as the Antichrist seeks an exalted position even over God craving worship and obedience this war between good and evil started in heaven with the angel Lucifer now known as the devil seeking the same thing the Bible says for thou Hast said in thine heart I will Ascend into heaven I will exalt my throne above the stars of God I will sit also upon the Mount of the congregation in the sides of the north I will Ascend above the heights of the clouds I will be like the most high Isaiah 14 13 and 14 this mirrors the Earthly end time power seeking the same exalted position the Bible tells us that the dragon representing the devil gives power to this Earthly beast in other words the devil uses this Earthly power to get what he's always wanted worship that belongs to God so when we talk about this beast power we're discussing an Earthly system the devil uses to divert worship from God to himself the Bible says and he causeth all both small and great rich and poor free and bond to receive a mark in their right hand or in their foreheads and that no man might buy or sell save he that had the Mark or the name of the Beast or the number of his name Revelation 13:16 And1 17 these verses have fascinated many Christians but simultaneously something more important is happening and I saw another Angel ascending from the East having the Seal of the Living God and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea saying hurt not the Earth neither the sea nor the trees till we have sealed the Servants of our God in their foreheads Revelation 7:2 and three God will seal his people two similar actions are occurring the Beast enforces a mark while God seals his people what does this mean there are two sides in the end time those who worship God and those who worship the Beast and the dragon the mark and the seal show which side you are on the devil enforces Mark claiming these are my people they belong to me God does the same with his Seal saying these are my people they worship me where are these marks placed the mark of the beast is on the forehead and the hand while God's seal is only on the forehead the forehead represents beliefs convictions and character the hand represents actions the devil marks those who share his beliefs or simply comply with his ideology through their actions even if they don't truly support it why would someone comply if they don't support it because there will be severe consequences for not going along with the Beast plans you'll be an outcast unable to buy or sell and eventually there will be a death decree against those who refuse the mark the devil doesn't care how he gets people to his side whether through belief or Force he seeks control God however values Free Will and genuine worship His seal is only on the forehead symbolizing true conviction God desires worship motivated by Trust in love not coercion when God sees your heart aligned with his he will claim you as his own and seal you salvation isn't about our actions but about wanting to be on God's side Believing by faith that he will transform us Jesus reminds us of the ultimate expression of this Faith fear God and give glory to him for the hour of his judgment is come and worship him that made Heaven and Earth and the Sea and The Fountains of waters Revelation 14:7 this quote refers to the Sabbath commandment which calls us to remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy acknowledging God as our creator and savior the Sabbath established at creation is a day set apart for worship on the Sabbath we rest from our works and focus on God's work trusting in his creative and Redemptive power the Sabbath commandment contains elements of a royal seal God's name title and territory keeping the Sabbath is a demonstration of our faith in God the devil knows this which is why he seeks to change times and laws creating a counterfeit day of worship the Roman Catholic Church claims to have changed the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday not based on scripture but on their own authority they even refer to this change as a mark of their power Sunday worship originating from Pagan Traditions is the mark of rebellion against God in the end time the true Sabbath Saturday and the counterfeit Sabbath Sunday will be the visible expressions of our inner choices the Roman Catholic Church will enforce Sunday worship through secular laws as it has done in the past submitting to this law will signify allegiance to the Beast and the dragon not to God though Sunday worship is not yet the mark of the beast because it's not enforced by law it already goes against God's Commandments as Bible believing Christians we should follow God's Commandments now not wait for future enforcement let us turn our eyes to the horizon dear friends to the Glorious future that awaits God's faithful in the book of Isaiah we find a breathtaking glimpse of what's to come the prophet declares for as the new heavens and the new Earth which I will make shall remain before me saith the Lord so shall your seed and your name remain and it shall come to pass that from one new moon to another and from one Sabbath to another shall All Flesh come to worship before me saith the Lord Isaiah 66:22 and 23 imagine if you will a world made new the scars of sin erased the beauty of Eden restored in this perfect realm what do we find the Sabbath shining like a jewel in the crown of Eternity it's as if God is saying this day this gift I gave at creation it's not just for now it's forever now some might ask why the Sabbath in a perfect world won't every day be holy ah but that's missing the point entirely the Sabbath is isn't just about rest from labor it's about relationship it's God's standing appointment with his children a weekly reminder of his love and our dependence on him think of it like this imagine you're part of a large loving family every week no matter how busy life gets you all gather for a special meal it's not that the other days aren't important but this meal it's sacred it's where stories are shared bonds are strengthened and love is celebrated that's what the Sabbath will be in eternity our family time with the creator of the universe but here's the question that should stir our hearts if we're going to keep the Sabbath for all eternity why aren't more Christians keeping it now it's like being invited to the greatest celebration in history and saying oh I'll start attending when I get there wouldn't you want to practice to get a taste of that Joy now the Sabbath isn't just a day it's a foretaste of Eternity every seventh day we get to step out of time and into a piece of heaven we get to experience a bit of what Adam and Eve knew in Eden and what we'll know in the new Earth it's not a burden it's a blessing it's not a restriction it's a release in Revelation John describes the New Jerusalem saying and the city had no need of the sun neither of the moon to shine in it for the glory of God did lighten it and the lamb is the light thereof Revelation 21:23 can you imagine worshiping in that light the Sabbath gives us a glimpse of that Glory now but it's more than just a preview keeping the Sabbath now prepares us for eternity it teaches us to trust God with our time to find our rest in him to prioritize worship and Community it's like learning the language of Heaven while we're still on Earth and think about this in a world without sin without death without the curse God still sees fit to set aside the Sabbath for special communion with his people doesn't that speak volumes about its importance about its intrinsic value to our relationship with [Music] him I appreciate your patience we've covered a lot of ground but the most interesting part is yet to come let's explore the misconceptions that have clouded our understanding of the Sabbath first we come upon Colossians 2:16-17 a passage that has caused much confusion among Believers it reads let no man therefore judge you in meat or in drink or in respect of an holy day or of the new moon or of the Sabbath days which are a shadow of things to come but the body is of Christ now some might say this verse dismisses the importance of the Sabbath altogether but hold on let's not be too hasty in our judgment you see Paul isn't referring to the weekly Sabbath that God established at creation and reinforced in the Ten Commandments no he's talking about the ceremonial sabbaths those yearly festivals and holy days that were part of the old Covenant think of it this way imagine you're planning a grand Feast you've sent out invitations with a beautiful picture of the banquet table when your guests arrive would you have them sit down and eat the invitation of course not those invitations were just Shadows pointers to the real event in the same way these ceremonial sabbaths were Shadows pointing to Christ once he came we no longer needed those Shadows but the weekly Sabbath that's a different story altogether it's not a shadow it's a Memorial of creation itself God didn't Institute it after sin entered the world he gave it to Adam and Eve in the Perfection of Eden it's as enduring as the Earth itself now let's sail on to Romans 14:5 Paul writes one man esteemeth one day above another another esteemeth every day alike let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind some folks read this and conclude see it doesn't matter what day we keep as Sabbath but hang on a minute is Paul really talking about the Sabbath here if we look closely we'll see that the word Sabbath isn't even mentioned what Paul is likely addressing our fast days or perhaps those old ceremonial feast days we just talked about remember Paul was writing to the Romans new believers who were still figuring things out they were dealing with Pharisees who were trying to force old Jewish Customs on them it's like when you start a new job your co-workers might have all sorts of traditions casual Fridays potluck Wednesdays bring your pet to work day are these essential to your job of course not in the same way Paul was telling the Romans look these extra days some people are pushing on you they're not what's important what matters is your relationship with Christ now let's navigate to acts 27 it says and upon the first day of the week when the disciples came together to break bread Paul preached unto them ready to depart on the tomorrow and continued his speech until midnight some folks point to this verse and say see the early Christians met on Sunday but let's not jump to conclusions first we need to understand how the Jews reckoned time their day began at Sunset not midnight like we're used to so when it says the first day of the week we're actually talking about what we'd call Saturday night picture this it's been a long Sabbath day Paul has been teaching and fellowshipping with the Believers all day as the sun sets marking the end of Sabbath and the beginning of the first day they gather for one last meal together before Paul leaves in the morning it's a special occasion not a regular worship service remember the early Believers met daily acts 2:46 just because they gathered on this particular evening doesn't make it a new Sabbath it's like when your favorite uncle comes to visit you might have a special dinner on a Tuesday night but that doesn't make Tuesday your new family day moreover this meeting was influenced by Paul's travel plans he was leaving the next day so they made the most of their time together it wasn't about establishing a new day of worship it was about cherishing every moment with their beloved teacher before he left now I know that might sound harsh to some ears but let's consider what the word of God tells us James the brother of Our Lord writes for whosoever shall keep the whole law and yet offend in one point he is guilty of all James 2:10 it's as if the law of God is a perfectly strung guitar pluck one string and the whole instrument vibrates but what is sin really John the Beloved disciple gives us a clear definition whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law for sin is the transgression of the law 1 John 34 and what are the consequences of this transgression Paul pulls no punches for the wages of sin is death Romans 6:23 now imagine you're on a ship and you notice a small hole in the hull would you say oh it's just one little hole the rest of the ship is fine of course not that one breach is enough to sink the entire vessel in the same way willfully breaking the Sabbath commandment or any of God's Commandments can lead us to spiritual shipwreck but there's more the Sabbath isn't just another commandment it's a seal a mark of God's Authority like we saw before when we keep the Sabbath we're saying we recognize your Authority Lord Lord you are our creator and our King but here's where it gets serious if keeping the Sabbath is recognizing God's Authority what does it mean when we reject it it's like a cosmic Rebellion a declaration that we know better than the almighty and when we choose to keep Sunday instead we're essentially saying we'll follow Church tradition rather than God's clear command now some might protest but isn't keeping the Sabbath just legalism aren't we saved by grace ah but let's hear what Jesus himself said if you love me keep my Commandments John 14:15 you see true obedience isn't about earning salvation it's a love response to The God Who first loved us it's not legalism it's loyalty think of a marriage does a husband buy flowers for his wife to earn her love of course not he does it as an expression of the love he already has in the same way we keep the Sabbath not to earn God's favor but to show our love and appreciation for his Amazing Grace and here's the beautiful part keeping the Sabbath isn't a burden it's entering into God's rest as the writer of Hebrews puts it for he that is entered into his rest he also hath ceased from his own works as God did from his Hebrews 4:10 the Sabbath is a weekly reminder that our Salvation rests not on our works but on Christ's finished work but what about the New Covenant doesn't that change everything well let's see what God says say about this New Covenant this is the Covenant that I will make with them after those days saith the Lord I will put my laws into their hearts and in their minds will I write them Hebrews 10:16 the New Covenant doesn't abolish God's law it internalizes it it moves the law from stone tablets to living Hearts Paul describes this beautifully in Romans for when the Gentiles which have not the law do by Nature the things contained in the law these having not the law are a law unto themselves which show the work of the law written in their hearts Romans 21415 under the New Covenant God's law including the Sabbath becomes a natural outflow of a heart in love with God to finally answer the question of why Satan hates the Sabbath why because the Sabbath affirms that Jesus is not just a great teacher or a prophet but the maker of all things as John 1:3 tells us all things were made by him and without him was not anything made that was made every time we honor the Sabbath we're essentially saying Jesus you are the Creator and we are your creation Now Satan's not one to take this lying down his rivalry with Christ is fierce and cunning if in the Christian world he replaces the Sabbath with Sunday and in the Arab world he substitutes it with Friday how does he deal with atheists or agnostics he simply promotes evolutionary ideas that distort the concept of creation Evolution that's his handiwork a clever attempt to undermine jesus' role as Creator if he can get us to believe that we're just Cosmic accidents the product of random chance rather than Divine Design then Christ's Authority and his worthiness to receive our worship is diminished but the Sabbath stands as a Bull workk against these lies it's a weekly Monument to the truth of creation a time set apart for us to rec recognize God's Authority and offer him the worship he alone deserves as we enter into this holy time we're invited to set aside the distractions of life and enter into communion with our maker it's a time to Marvel at his Works to stand in awe of his wisdom and to offer him praise Satan of course is working over time to disrupt this worship he knows that if he can diminish the Sabbath he can turn our hearts away from the Creator and towards well anything else the creation itself our own accomplishments or even nothingness a world without purpose or design but here's the beautiful truth the Sabbath isn't just about God's identity as Creator it's about our identity as his creation it speaks to our value and dignity as human beings in a world that often treats people as disposable the Sabbath reminds us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made crafted in the very image of God himself now I know what some of you might be thinking this all sounds good but how do I live this out in my busy life well let me tell you it's not about rules and regulations it's about relationship it's about setting aside time to say Lord you are more important than my work my plans my ambitions this day is yours start small if you need to maybe Begin by turning off your devices for a few hours each Sabbath use that time to read your Bible to pray to connect with your loved ones take a walk in nature and Marvel at God's creation visit those who are sick or lonely remember Jesus said the Sabbath was made for man not man for the Sabbath Mark 2:27 it's a gift not a burden and here's a challenge for you if you've stayed with me this far and if somehow changed your view or if you already knew this truth but want to recommit type I choose to follow God in the
