I'm really excited right now about a very simple concept in strategic coach which is the strategy circle and the reason is that this was really the start of strategic coach and this started in October of 1982 now I've been coaching for eight years before but the real breakthrough which amount allowed me to be really a very transformative strategic coach for thousands of individuals really starts with this one tool I think it just goes back to the central philosophy of that strategy circle itself which is all those things which oppose your goals are actually the raw material for achieving your goals and you know that's just my philosophy and life opposition is what I need in order to transform things in such a way that I get really great decisions great communications and great actions one of the issues that all entrepreneurs have doesn't matter what a level of success you are as an entrepreneur is that you have first of all you have big dreams of where you would like to go as an entrepreneur every entrepreneur that I talked to I said you know what are the areas that you'd really like to improve in and immediately they have a sense that they would like to jump to another level and I think that's just part of being an entrepreneur but the problem is is that you have a lot of things coming at you that don't quite work right now and they use up your time they use up your attention they use up your energy they use up your resources so that at certain points you just have enough energy to actually just keep going what you're actually doing you're not able to make progress and so what the strategy circle does is it treats this as natural it treats the fact that one of your great brain capabilities is that you can see things that are much bigger and better than what you have right now the other thing is that treats as normal is that the moment you have this vision what is going to happen is that you're going to see all the obstacles and they say all this is what I have to transform to actually make progress so I simply take what I think is a winning formula all successful entrepreneurs and I formalized it I have actually builded into a process so the first thing is vision you have vision so that's V and then the second thing is you have opposition so that's o and then what you do is you take the obstacles and you say what is a decision I can make what is the communication I can make what is an action I can take that will move me through the obstacle so I'm actually transforming the obstacle into action so it's transformation and action so I have a code for this I called voto you know and voda is just the way the human brain works so what I'm doing is that when the human brain is at its most creative when the human brain is at its most entrepreneurial it operates on a formula called vota vision opposition transformation and action and all i've done in the strategic coach is take what is kind of natural for the most creative entrepreneurs and i've simply put it into a process that can be learned by anyone and every time you do the strategy circle you get better and better at this creative transformation so here i am you know it's 30 years after I created this and I'm just as excited about this thinking process as I was back in 1982 and the reason I'm so excited is because I haven't seen anything in the past 30 years that matches the strategy circle in terms of the speed with which people understand it the very very fast results that occur out of the strategy circle and I'm talking about arrange people from around 8 years old to 85 years old ok I've never seen anyone yet that if you walk them through a strategy circle using their actual material in other words their vision what they would like and the obstacles that they're experiencing right now and then helping them transform into actions and communications and decisions and then putting together an action plan I've never seen anyone who just doesn't totally understand the the way it works in about a half hour 40 40 minutes so I was thinking you know in this world today educational systems are very complicated there's a lot of dissatisfaction with that we're not really equipping people with the tools they need to really cope with the complexity of modern life how do they take advantage of opportunities how do they do thinking on their own how do they do problem-solving on their own and my feeling is right now that if you taught all seven billion people on the planet how to do a strategy circle this would be an incredibly better planet you know be exciting there would be innovation almost everywhere you look there would be massive amounts of cooperation so if I were in the 21st century looking for a foundation stone for a universal educational system that you could teach anyone within a matter of about a half hour and then they just build on it for the rest of their life I would start with the strategy circle I don't think there's anything that can possibly match it in terms of its simplicity and its you know the tremendous transformation of thinking that goes on when people do strategy circles and how much better they become as they do many strategy circles I think I think it's just the most amazing process on the planet
