DaVinci Resolve Editing Shortcuts
Introduction
Editing can be time-consuming in DaVinci Resolve.
Use keyboard shortcuts instead of digging through menus to save time.

Setting Up Shortcuts
Go to
DaVinci Resolve > Keyboard Customization
.
Click the three dots, import preset, select the BC editing shortcuts file.
Selection Shortcuts
V
: Return to the arrow key.
Full Stop (.)
: Select all clips to the right of the playhead.
Comma (,)
: Select all clips to the left of the playhead.
Cutting Shortcuts
B
: Change from arrow to blade tool.
S
: Make a cut across all tracks of the timeline.
Q
: Deletes everything to the left of the playhead up to the closest cut point.
W
: Deletes everything to the right of the playhead up to the next cut point.
R
: Ripple Delete - removes a clip and fills the gap.
T
: Trim edit mode - adjusts start and end points while keeping clip length.
Timeline Navigation Shortcuts
Plus (+) / Minus (-)
: Zoom in and out.
Option + Scroll
: Precise zoom.
Z
: View entire timeline.
Up/Down
: Move playhead to next cut.
Left/Right
: Move playhead frame-by-frame.
N
: Toggle snapping.
L/J/K
: Play forwards / backwards / pause.
