one of the areas that always fascinated me within HR is the use of metrics data and analysis it's historically an area that HR have always struggled with if you are lucky in an organization you might measure time to hire leavers sick day or a cost of hire these are all operational metrics however what's more important is what impact do leavers have on the business what impact does it the slowness of the hire of an employee make to the business what are the key individual leaves the business what if we're slow to replace them what is the actual value in revenue loss to the business this is your strategic analysis simple metric revenue divided by the number of employees but there are more complex ways of looking at it so if we can measure it we can change it and then we can re measure this is why metrics is fascinating [Music] you you
