Introduction to Proloquo2Go Communication Tool

Hi everyone. Amanda Hartmann, Speech Pathologist here. And today we're going to talk about getting started with Proloquo2Go. And this is one of our webinars for our AAC training series brought to you by AssistiveWare. As I said, my name's Amanda and I've been a Speech Pathologist with AssistiveWare for a few years now. And I won't lie. I love Proloquo2Go. I use it every single day. And I really.... maybe you've just gotten it for the first time and you're a little bit worried and don't know where to start, it kind of can be overwhelming when you haven't used it before or you haven't used it much or you bought it ages ago and you didn't look at it. So this webinar is really about getting you started and making you feel confident that you got this. You can use Proloquo2Go and you can use it for all the right reasons. As I said, this is part of our AAC training series. So what Proloquo2Go's purpose is, is when someone can't talk, perhaps for whatever reason they're unable to speak, maybe they can't always rely on their speaking, or their speaking is difficult to understand, lots of different reasons somebody might not be able to talk. And so we need something that we call AAC. AAC stands well, you might have heard of it around the traps. AAC stands for Augmentative and Alternative communication. Basically, they are any tools that we can use when someone can't talk. So anything that they might use if somebody can't talk or can't rely on their speech. And Proloquo2Go is one of those tools that somebody can use to help them communicate. It's a very powerful communication tool. And before I start Proloquo2Go and show you, I just wanted to give you a little bit of an insight as to why Proloquo2Go looks the way it does. So the vocabulary, we call it the Crescendo vocabulary, and that's the bank of words that Proloquo2Go comes ready made. And this is AAC app is made by AssistiveWare and it's for the iOS platform. So this Crescendo vocabulary that I mentioned is really based on core words and with also, of course, quick access to fringe words and also the alphabet. And there's a really strong plan in there for the use of core words, the motor planning. So the core words are always in the same kind of locations. And that's an important feature of the Crescendo vocabulary in Proloquo2Go. So the vocabulary in Proloquo2Go, the Crescendo, is what we call a balanced vocabulary because, we call it balanced because it lets us use a balance and mix of words for a wide variety of reasons. So we focus on that idea that with our vocabulary we can communicate for a lot of different reasons. We call these communication functions. So that's one of the advantages to having a vocabulary the way that it looks. We also have access to core words, to our fringe words. We can personalize with our own vocabulary and we have access to the alphabet. So those communication functions that I mentioned, they are all the different reasons we communicate. So we express needs and wants. You make a request, you refuse something. We also need lots of words in our vocabulary to get and give information. So can I make a comment, tell a story, ask a question, say what I think about something. And yeah, another important communication function area is that area of social interaction. So the vocabulary in Proloquo2Go has words so that you can greet, you can start conversations, tease somebody, tell a joke. All of those things are important reasons we communicate and you need to have the words for them. And lastly, the last section of communication function is that all the things that we do to help us be better understood. So if you haven't understood what I've said, then I might clarify, I might say it differently or give a clue. So these again, Proloquo2Go, the Crescendo vocabulary is set up that actually will allow you to do all of these different communication functions, which is really awesome. And that's part of why the vocabulary looks the way that it is. The other part is that there are core words which are called like the building blocks of language. And we use these building blocks to add meaning to what we're saying. So this is one of an example of one of our Crescendo core word boards. And the colored words that you see on screen now are the core words and the core words, as I said, they add meaning. So there's no point just being able to say "car" if I can't use some of these colored core words to say: "Where is the car?" Or "I like cars" or "I want to go in the car". So those core words add meaning to what we're trying to say. Now you also in any vocabulary, want to have access to some important fringe words and personal words. They could be words you use a lot or a little, but you want to have access to them quickly. So there's folders of animals and food. All of the dictionary that you can think of is pretty much in Proloquo2Go. And of course you can add your own special topics as well. And every person needs access to, and needs to learn the alphabet. So Proloquo2Go has access to an alphabet within it as well, so that you can flick to typing and type words, perhaps words that don't appear in the AAC, or if someone is starting to learn or has learnt, uses typing to communicate, then they can do that within Proloquo2Go as well. So all of this balanced vocabulary, what does that mean for our AAC learners, somebody who's just starting out? It means that they can build language with all of these words. It allows them to figure out how they can put words together in different ways to communicate, different messages, which is really powerful. But where do we start? That's the question, isn't it? If you've just gotten Proloquo2Go, it's overwhelming. And in today's webinar, uhoh, look at this long list. We're going to take a glance at it. We're going to look at grid size, we're going to look at how we can personalize some of the features, how we organize things. Now, sorry, that's a long list for us today. Three things I wanted you to remember about today's webinar is that first of all, everything that I'm showing you is part of the help that you can get within the app, which I'm going to show you. All of the information that I'm talking about is available on the website. And I can't stress often enough about how awesome our support team are. So you can always email our support team and you'll get really fast responses to any problems or questions that you have. The other part of this is that I'd love you to have Proloquo2Go open in front of you today. So get it out, have it there ready as we go through. We're just about to open up Proloquo2Go now. So I want you to get it out, load it, open it up, and try and play along with me. Play along with me, or do the things that I do as we go in this webinar, okay? So that's my advice. Also, you can watch the replay later, pause things, practice things. So I think that there's lots of ways hopefully, that you can consolidate what you're learning today. The last thing that I'll say before we crack into it is that the more often you do something, the easier it will get. So if you're learning something for the first time today, make sure you do it again and again over the next couple of days. And in that way you'll feel more confident and more familiar because you've done it more times. So let's open up Proloquo2Go now and get started. This is my 7 x 11 grid size, and I've customized it and changed it around a bit so you can see that. So we have what we call the buttons or the grid. I also have this little red dot that you're seeing. You won't have that in your Proloquo2Go. That's called my magic finger, so that you can see where I'm touching on screen, but you won't have that on yours. That's just for the purposes of the video so that you can see what I'm doing. So basically we have the grid with all of the buttons and anytime you tap something: [I like it], it goes up into what we call the top message window. [I like it]. When I tap the top message window, it reads our sentence back. So this is one of those ways when we start putting words together, we can hear our sentences back. When I want to clear something, I can tap the clear button once on the message window to get rid of one thing that add another word. [I like that]. Or I can tap it twice to clear the whole message. And then we have the toolbar all along the bottom here. That takes us to a few different things as well. So we have a tools pop up. We have our keyboard, which mine looks probably a little bit different to yours. We're going to talk about that. We have the edit pencil that we're going to do today. And we have the options cog or gear, whatever you want to call that little fella down the bottom there. Now the buttons [come] speak aloud, whereas a folder takes you to a folder of additional words. One thing that's really important in Proloquo2Go that you might notice is that the core words which on my page are colored, are always in consistent locations. So if I say [not] and then I go here, [not] and then I go here, [not] is always in the same spot. It does not move. Okay? And that's really useful. So you almost on every folder that you have, you have this U with all of our core words in really consistent locations, which is important. The other important part about how Crescendo vocabulary looks is that we want you to get to the words that you most need fast. So typically you'll go into a folder like, say, the food folder, and you can see I've customized this for me. I've added the foods that I'm most likely to say and I've got them right here on my first food folder. I can say [I want dumplings] really quickly. And then when I click more, which is down in that bottom right hand corner, I get more. I get all of my food folders, that full dictionary of food, other folders of other things that I might need to talk about. Okay, so that's the folder structure. You'll see that throughout Proloquo2Go. Okay, so I can write some sentences. [I want to play with you.] So I can write whole sentences. [I want to play with you]. [I have to go] > Places [home]. [I have to go home]. What about this one here? This is a little bit different. [She], hold it down. [likes to make] > Food, She likes to make > More > Dessert, [cake]. [She likes to make cake]. Okay, so those are just some example sentences. Something that I want you, to make sure that you know how to do... is if you push the Options gear, that right at the very top here is [Help]. This is the in-app help. And here in the in-app help is basically, it's the same as what's on our website, by the way. So you can find this on our website as well. But you can click all these folders on the side here. So if you wanted to learn how to search for a button, then you could click this and as well as there's a video in this particular article. And there is also step by step instructions on how you use this feature in Proloquo2Go. Okay, now, some of them have videos and some of them don't, so you have to have a look at that. But you can just click on any things. I want to learn how to add a button, and here's the instructions. So look for that in-app help after today. If you're having troubles knowing what to do next or you've forgotten how to do something that I've shown you today, then please go and search Help. So let's create a new user. Now, I will click the gear in the bottom right corner and go into Users and then add a user. Let's give the name for the user profile. I'm going to create this for Jess, my daughter. And next I get to choose my language preferences. So I can click on Language and choose, as you can see, I'm in Australia, so it's English - Australia, but you should go ahead and select the region and the language for where you are. And done. If you wish to create a bilingual user, you would add another language. Here you can see Proloquo2Go comes in Dutch, French and Spanish. But let's just create just an English user for today. So I will close this and then tap Next. Next is a fun decision. What voice will Proloquo2Go use when it speaks out loud? There are lots of voices to choose from. I've already downloaded some, and you can tap them to listen to them. [Hello]. This is a great chance to involve the person who will be using Proloquo2Go. Sit and listen to the different voices together. [Hi]. Let them choose the voice that suits them. There are children voices, teenage voices, and adult voices. I'm in Australia, so I will choose. [Hello] Olivia. [I am Olivia, one of the child]. And then tap next. Now we have to choose a grid size. The grid size is how many buttons we will have on the page. I can tap the plus button or the minus button to look at different grid sizes. So I can tap the plus button up up, and it adds more buttons to the page and the buttons get smaller. Or I can tap the minus button to go down. And as we go down, you'll see that there are fewer buttons on the page and the buttons are bigger. As a general rule of thumb, we should choose the grid size based on what the person can see and touch. Okay, so today I'm going to tap up, and I am going to choose the recommended 7 x 11 grid size. This adds 77 buttons to the page and gives me a great selection of words. Now tap next. Next, I will choose the skin tone. This is the default skin color of the people symbols used in Proloquo2Go. Next. Now, tap finish, and it will take a few moments to create the new Jess user, and then another minute if I have to download a voice. And now I have my new user all set up. Now, it looked a little bit different to the one that I'd already customized my Amanda page set. But what I wanted to show you now is just say, for example, we had chosen a smaller grid size. So I'm going to show you how to change that. I'm going to go back into options. I'll back out of the user settings where we just were, and I'm going to go into the appearance settings. And here I can change the appearance of the message window, the toolbars, but I can also change the view, which includes the grid size. So I'm going to click that, and we're going to click down now to a 3X6 grid size. So you might look at that and go, oh, that's far better for my child. It's not so busy and hectic. I think that we can work with this. That other grid size Amanda showed me had too many buttons on it. But I want to show you what happens when you have less buttons on the page. Because I'm going to try and write those same sentences that I wrote before, which was the first one was. Let me check. "I want to play with you". So, [I want] is on the home page. But now to say "to play," I'm going to have to go > More, I'm going to have to find the > Little words [to] and then go back. "Play" is an action word. Now I know where things are. [play], Do you know where things are yet? Back. Um, "with" is a where word? Is it? No, I even got that wrong. It must be a > Little word [with] Yes, [I want to play with you]. I went back. [I want to play with you]. So it took me far longer to write that sentence with far more navigation. I mean, literally compare that to here, [I want to play with you.] I was a bit slow there. I missed some of it at the beginning. So, even though we think that we're actually making it easier for our kids when we give them less buttons, we actually put more demands on them to actually be able to navigate and find words in the system. Let's try another one of our sentences. "I have to go home". [I] [have], oh, I remember, it was a little word. [to]. [go] was on the home page > Places, [home] is there. So that wasn't too bad. [I have to go home]. Okay, now she, "she likes to make cakes". So > People, people > Pronouns. There it is. [she], She, home again. Oh, I've got "likes" on the home page. [likes] I need that little word, [to] again. I need an action word for "make" - [make]. Oh, there it is. That was lucky. And >Things > Food > More > Desserts, [cake]. Cake. [She likes to make cake]. Okay, look, this demonstration, this part of the webinar is just to kind of show you guys that we really, if we dream big and think that we got to give kids more words, as long as they can see and touch these buttons on the page, it's really great to start with more buttons on the page. And now I'm going to show you two strategies that you can use so that perhaps it makes it easier to transition to these bigger grid sizes, which, of course, gives us far more, let's see, far more choices, far more words, far more language to communicate with, which is always good. So let's clear that message window. The first thing that I'm going to show you is the feature called Progressive language. So Progressive language is something that allows me to hide some of the buttons. So I'm going to click on the cog. And this is a vocabulary setting that I'm changing now. And you can see I have a button here called Progressive language. So I'm going to go ahead and slide the toggle to turn it on. And then I'm going to step to step one. So you can see what happens there is that we hide away a lot of the other buttons, and we just have this is step one. And that this hiding applies to all of our folders. So all the buttons that we don't need at this stage are hidden away on every folder. And you can see that gradually and incrementally, they progressively add more words until you've got all the buttons on the page. So my idea would be maybe start in the middle at step three or four and then slide up or down if we need to. But the idea, why would we use progressive language? It means that we have less on the page so that we can introduce words gradually. But it also gives us that idea that when I am ready for more words, I don't have to change the location of things. If I change grid sizes each time I needed words, I'd have to relearn where things are. So Progressive language literally lets me learn that no matter what, I know that, like, is always going to be there and it's not going to move location when I change grid sizes. Instead, Okay, I'm ready. I can take more buttons. I'm ready for that now. So I can step up to level four. So just say, for example, I just did want to demonstrate one other feature about Progressive language, is that if I'm doing an activity here and we're modeling throwing a ball and we're throwing it [up], up into the air, and then we want to say "down". And down, I think, is in where that empty space is, because down is hidden at this level. So what I can do is if I push my tools pop up in the bottom left corner, I've got a button now that says Explore. So as long as you have Progressive language on, you'll have this Explore button. So I turn on Explore and then temporarily all of my buttons are reshown again. So now do my modeling. [down] So that means showing the words, pointing into the words to show what they mean as I'm talking. So we're going to throw the ball [down], here it comes down again. And I can model those words and then when I'm finished, I can click Explore again and it's turned back to the grid with our chosen symbols hidden away. So Progressive language is one feature that you might like to use. I'm going to go ahead and turn Explore on and leave it to use it like this today for the next part of it. Another thing that you might like to change, and actually I do this regardless of the grid size, is I often change some of the appearance settings. So again, I'm going to back out of where I was. When you go into options, you always go back to where you were, before, when you were last changing something. So I'm going to back out again. So I'm back at the top level of my options. This again was where my help is for when I need help. But I'm going to go now into the appearance settings. As I said, this changes the appearance, like how the vocabulary looks to you. So you can do things where you can change the message window, you can change the size of the toolbars. And this is where I changed the grid size. But one of the things that I want to do is I want to change the appearance of my buttons. I want to change the appearance of the background color of my buttons because I can see at the moment that my color coding background is only applied to my fringe words. So that means when I go to my food folder, I can see yellow backgrounds on my Nouns, my food folders, but I don't have them on any of my other words. So if I click my color code and apply it to all now I have color applied to all of my words. And for me, when I look at that visually, I think that automatically makes it a little bit easier for me to navigate this many words on the page. So the default is where they're all white. But just by using that color coding, turning on the color coding for my background color, I think that can make a difference. You can also change the color intensity to make it really super bright. I don't know if I can deal with that. Some of those are too bright for me, but maybe even the light or the bleached, any of those would work. So let's leave it like that. Now you can see that there are a few other appearance settings that you can play with. I'm not going to show any of them today. So we have changed the appearance settings. So now we've got our color coding on. I think it's time that we should look at personalizing the vocabulary. So that means we're going to use the edit mode for the very first time. So one thing that I say, every time you want to edit or add some words to your Proloquo2Go, I want you to think about where it will go. So I want you to navigate to an appropriate folder and try and add the words there. Because it's just about trying to keep all your words organized as much as possible. Now at this stage, if you're just getting to know Proloquo2Go for the first time, I'd really encourage you to kind of navigate in and out of folders and explore things and get to know things where things are. Because once you start trying to personalize things, if you already know what kinds of folders are there in the Things folder, what's in the Fun folder, if you know what some of the Things are, then when you start thinking about what extra words you need to add. And of course, you do need to add words. Words that are particular to you and your family and your child or your students. Then you'll have a better chance of being able to do that. So my advice is navigate to that folder where you want to add something and make sure that the word is added in the right spot. So I'm going to navigate first of all, I'm going to add something new to the food folder. Okay, I'm going to add something new to the food folder. So I navigate to the food folder and then I'm going to enter sorry, edit mode. And I do that by tapping the pencil on the bottom toolbar. When I go into edit mode, the bottom of my page slides up. So now I know that I'm in edit mode. Okay, I have a little hat, uptown hat, a triangle that goes up and down that allows me to open and close my window navigation. And there's a few other bits and pieces on the page. Probably, again, a helpful tip is if you're not sure what thing to push or to do, then I can recommend that you push the little green arrow. What is it? It's a question mark down in the bottom corner there and it puts this overlay up that just reminds you basically what all the different features on the page might do, all the different icons on the toolbar there. So to add a button, I simply push tap tap to add a button on that empty space there where there was an empty button. And now I'm going to type in a word. So I type in apple. And as I do that, you can see that I had a symbol suggestion. If I wanted a green apple instead of a red apple, then I can have a look at all of these symbol choices that I have along the bottom. Okay, so I've added apple to my page. Now what else can I do, perhaps,.... So when I'm finished adding my favorite food, so again, when I navigate to my food folder, I want to put my most important food there. And when I'm finished, I'll click done up in the top right corner. So and then I'll go home again. Let's try it again, this time in our people folder. So I tap the edit pencil on the bottom toolbar, and I click add for add a button again. And I'm going to type in his name. His name is Lachlan. And you can see this time when I typed in Lachlan, no picture suggestions came up. So now I've got kind of a blank button with no picture on it. So perhaps if I want to add a photo, this little square beside here, these are my basics. Just remember, guys, too, when you're in edit mode, there's a lot of stuff going on. So just put your blinkers on and focus on what you need to know. If you know the basics on how to add buttons, a lot of this other stuff that's on the sides, you don't actually need to worry about. So we're back to editing the button of Lachlan. And if I tap on Lachlan and I say I can choose a symbol, so we'll do that in a second. But right now, I could choose a picture. So let's choose a picture, and I will go here. And here is a picture of Lachlan. And I'll put him onto a button. Okay, now let's do another one. We will add a picture of me. Again, no symbol suggestions came up for me. So this time, I'm going to take a picture live. Turn my camera around. Oh, hang on. How am I going to do that? Here we go. So I've taken a photo of myself, use that on a button, and then I'll say done when I'm done. Amanda. Amanda. Okay, so we have added buttons with a folder. Another thing, let's go into food again. And I've been exploring, and I found in my lunch folder that they have the word hot dog, and that's one of my favorite foods. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to edit mode again. I'm going to tap on the word hot dog. Can you see when I tapped on hot dog, I got a blue tick. That means that button's been selected. And actually, while I'm here, I found another favorite food. Of course, it's chicken nuggets. So with those two buttons selected, what I'm going to do is I'm going to copy them and I'm going to paste them back into my food folder. So I'm going to click copy, and I'm going to say, well, actually, while I'm in edit mode, I can navigate around, so I can push the. Back on the food button here and back here. And now I'm back to my first page of my food folder. And now I'm going to push paste on the bottom toolbar, and you can see that my nuggets and my hot dogs are there. Okay. And then I can tap them again to unselect them. Now. Oh, you know what? I do not like pretzels. Sorry. I do not like pretzels. So I want to delete that off this page right away. And the delete to delete something, I push the little rubbish bin. And don't worry about the storage bit. At this stage, we're just going to say delete it permanently. It just deletes it permanently from this page, not from Proloquo2Go everywhere. So I could still find pretzel if I needed to, at a different time. So again, I'm going to add edit. Done. Okay. So now let's have a think about two more things when I'm personalizing my vocabulary and editing things. First of all, I just wanted to show you that sometimes Proloquo2Go doesn't always pronounce things right. If I say [Lachlan], I don't know that it really pronounces "Lachlan" right. So I'm going to go into edit mode. And this time, anytime I want to edit a button, if I blue tick select it and push up my editing window. Now I can make edits. So if I wanted to change the picture, if anything I wanted to do, I could do that. I can do change the features on this button, but in this case, I want to change how we pronounce his name. So I'm going to push the little microphone button. And here I have a tool that says Edit pronunciation. So instead of saying it Lachlan, maybe if I type in and put a space in, if I say to them to pronounce it "lock" and "len", let's listen to [Lachlan]. Yeah. So that sounds better straight. Okay. So now every time I use the word Lachlan anywhere, if I've typed it or on any other button, it's now going to Proloquo2Go is going to remember and pronounce that correctly, which is fantastic. Now, what was the other thing I was going to show you? I know. So I'm going to click Done to say edit. So one more thing that you can do when you're editing buttons. And this is a bit of a fun one. So if you want some fun, that should be done. So what I can do, I'm going to go into edit mode again, and this time I'm going to add the plus button, and I'm going to write silly greeting. You can see I had to choose a symbol. Yes, I'll use that silly symbol. And this time, I'm going to push that microphone again. But instead of editing a pronunciation, this time I'm going to record some audio. So I'm going to do a silly greeting for you, and I've put it onto my chat folder so I can use it. I'll make it really nice and aussie for you. Here we go. "G'day, mate. How you going today? Oh, I love your work, beauty, mate". Okay, that was silly. I know it was silly. It's okay. So now let's click oh, I can listen to a preview of it. No, I won't bother. I'll just click Done, and now I'm going to push it. "G'day, mate. How you going today? Oh, I love your work, beauty, mate". Whoops. Silly. Sorry about that. So I just wanted to show you how you can add an audio recording on a button, too. So now you've got a few tips and tricks. Just the start of being able to do some things. What about if you wanted to? Let's add one more button. Just to show you one thing, I'm going to add the button of the beach. I like some of these beach photos. Is there anything better? I can click on my picture options. I just wanted to show you that you can also choose a symbol and type in the word and be able to scroll through all the different options that relate to that word. So I want to use that word, the picture of us playing ball on the beach. Or I can go back to one of these, but I just wanted to show you that by clicking on the picture options, you can also go into the back of Proloquo2Go and search through the thousands of symbols that are in the background there. Okay, so I'm going to click Done to finish that today. Now, something that's really important for you to know as you're thinking about adding buttons, sometimes it can be really helpful to search for something first. So I want to talk about dolphins. So if I click, the tools pop up in the bottom corner, and then I click Search, I can start typing in the words that I'm looking for. And as I'm typing, you can see things appearing. In fact, as soon as I see the word dolphin, I can tap on it, and it's telling me that dolphin is a thing on the animals page, but it's also in my water animals as well, which makes sense. So these are little navigation pathways. So now I can tap on it, and you see everything else is grayed out. I can click Cancel up here, which I won't do, but I can click it's guiding me through it's telling me it's a thing, it's an animal, and everything is grayed out. I can really learn [dolphin], where dolphin is. So I think that that's a really fantastic feature. And I'm going to show you more with the search feature in just a second. All right, so one of the strategies that we talk about when we're using Proloquo2Go is the strategy of modeling, and that means that I point to the words as I speak. So the AAC learner who's learning Proloquo2Go sees me do it. And when they see me do it, they learn. And so I'm going to communicate about things that I'm seeing and doing and [I like] that. And I'm going to push to the buttons as I do it. So I wanted to talk about the folder structure in Proloquo2Go, because one of the things that's quite powerful about Proloquo2Go, is that I can navigate into my favorite folders. And what's really good is I still have core words alongside my fringe words. Now what this is important about, is it means that I don't have to go all the way home every time to actually be able to say quite a lot of things so I can stay on my page. [where aeroplane] the plane. [do you see car?] the car. So you can see that there's a lot that I can say, just all on the page. Okay. [finished]. We're finished [on] the bus. [bus]. Where's bus? So there's a lot of sentences and phrases that I can say because my core words are alongside my fringe words. And this makes modeling a wider variety of words and sentences easier for you guys. I can also do things like, I've got the typing. So for me, if I click the keyboard, I've got this grid alphabet. We're going to talk about that in a second. But I can use them simultaneously. So I can say [I like], oh, it's my friend David. So I click here [d a v i d] his name. I like David's, And then go back, [truck]. [I like David truck]. David's Truck. So you can see how that you can use the core words, the fringe words, and the alphabet all within a single message. Okay, very good. So while we're doing that, let's have a think about maybe adding a folder of your own words. So say for example, you like going to McDonald's, and so you want to have a folder with some of your McDonald's words on it all in one place, so it's easy to find. So first of all, I'm going to figure out where to put it. I'm not just going to stick it anywhere. I think I'll put it on the food folder, and I'm going to click more. And I'm going to stick it on this second page here. So again, I need edit mode. Now this time, instead of clicking on the left side, where it gets me to add a button, this time I'm going to click, add a new folder. And if you don't have a split button in half and it's just a plus, then click that and decide whether you're going to add a button or a new folder. You'll get to the same result in the end. So in this case, I'm going to say I want to add a new folder. And the great thing, I don't know whether you noticed before, so let me just cancel this, discard the button and open up the desserts folder. Every single folder in Proloquo2Go is based on a template. These are these little words with T's on them. Guess what? Those are the core words, and they've got T's on them. And the T's are big glue spots, that makes them stick in the spot so you guys can't move them. That means we can be assured that the core words that we most need are always going to be found in the same location. Okay. So that's why we have templates in Proloquo2Go to keep our core words in the same spots. So if I go back again and let's try again. So again, I'm going to add a new folder. So I'm going to tap onto the right side of the button and say new folder. And my first choice when I'm making a folder is to choose a template. And because I'm in the food folder, it guesses that I want the core words plus these food related ones, which is a good suggestion. There are a few other templates that relate to the different folders or the different situations as well. So let's see. I'm going to click next, and I'll have to give my folder a already. It looks like I've got a nice symbol of McDonald's there. It already was in the vocabulary. So I'm going to create my McDonald's folder. Now, to create the folder, the spot that I have to push is I have to go on this middle toolbar to this done button, and that tells me that my folder will be created. So I click done, and now my McDonald's folder is made for me to add words to it. Though when I'm in edit mode, if I tap on something, you can see it. Blue tick selects it. But if I double tap on it [when are we eating?] It speaks it aloud. But if I double tap on a folder, double tap, it opens that folder for me. So those are some of the ways you can navigate around when you're in edit mode. So what are some of the foods that I might order at McDonald's? Well, I'm going to start with a happy meal. So now we're going to go there's a symbol of it, and maybe I might order a big Mac. Big Mac. Do I have a symbol of a big Mac? Maybe they're called a big Mac with a K. Are they? I don't know. How do you spell a big Mac? Shows you how much I actually go to McDonald's. I'm going to go that it's a C. And then again, I don't have a symbol for it. So why don't I go and choose a symbol and type in a burger and find something that looks remotely like a burger? That'll do, I suppose that could be a big Mac. There's no lettuce. Where's my lettuce? Anyway, you get the idea. You may well want to choose photos that you've taken. So you might choose a picture from your camera roll and navigate to a photo you've taken of the Big Mac. So you can see in this way that I can copy and paste words in to make my folder. So I might get some chips. Sorry, in Australia we call them chips. So again, I'm going to copy it and open up my McDonald's folder and paste it in. And that's one of the ways. And then when you're done, you say done, and you can keep adding more words to your McDonald's folder as you go. Okay, so we have already done quite a lot of things today. I've shown you the Progressive language feature. I've shown you some of the bits and pieces around the place. The color coding we did, we've started adding a couple of buttons, making sure they pronounce it correctly. We had a quick search, which we're going to do some more of in a second. But what about how our folders look? I want to show you something that's a really easy way to be able to prioritize or organize the words in your folder. And to do this, we're going to look at our fun folder. And what I'm going to do is I'm going to click the edit pencil to go into edit mode. And the thing that I want to point out to you is that within every single most, almost all Proloquo2Go folders, there are three levels of vocabulary. The first level, which is the number one level, which is where you go to first. Those are your high priority words. So that's priority level number one. And then you'll have the more button that's represented by the two. Then you'll have the second level of words where you might have extra words or extra folders. And then in the background, you also have what's called the storage cabinet, which you only see when you're in edit mode and sometimes when you're using search. So we can use these levels, levels one, two, and storage to move and organize things really easily. So say, for example, I am customizing my fun folder and my child doesn't like I'm trying to think of something they don't like. Lego, for example. Lego is not something they find fun. So one of the things that we have, again, I'll put the overlay to remind you, is that we have all these move buttons. It's really easy to move words between folders in this way. So I can move something off the first page and I can move something to the first page. I can move things to that storage chest. So in this case, I might do that. So when I have Lego selected, I'm going to click move and it moved it away. Now I'm going to open up my storage chest. You can see Lego moved there. Let me find some things that I do think are fun. The playground, the scooter, the magic. Oh, I love adventures. Oh, I love a tickle. Okay, so I found some really fun things for me on my Fun folder. That saves me a lot of time. I don't have to add them individually. I can just add them directly from this storage chest. And so what I'm going to do is I'm going to push the number one down the bottom here. That will move them to my primary level. I'll say done. Now let's see what happens when I go to my Fun folder. Look. Adventure magic playground scooter are all there and Lego is gone. So it's a really good idea for important folders for your student is to customize them. Let's do it one more time. This time we'll do it on our Fruit folder. So I'm going to edit my Fruit folder. I navigate there first and then click the pencil to go into edit mode. And I can have a look at what's on each level. So if I go, oh, pears. I just found pears on the second level. And I eat those a lot and raspberries and blueberries. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to click the one button to move them up. I'm going to go back to the first page and check, oh, peaches. Peaches are out of season at the moment. I can't really eat those. And same with cherries. So I'm going to move them, I'm going to get rid of them. I'm just going to move them to the second page. Now they're on the second page. Okay, what about my storage? What extra fruit do I have in my storage? Okay, I need kiwi fruit and I need mangoes because I'm in Australia and maybe passionfruit and who knows what else I might need? Some dates. Why not? Oh, a lychee. I keep finding different fruits I need. And again, this time I'm going to move them up to the first level. So now those foods that I bought out of the storage are now appearing on my first page. So again, the whole idea is when someone's using it, if they are fruits that they use often, that they'll find them here first. Now, why don't we just put all the fruit on the first page? Well, that's about just about efficiency. If I had all my fruits listed on one page, plus my core words, then sometimes it might be overwhelming for me to scroll through and find the ones that I need. So we find it much easier to categorize and organize your words so that the ones that I most see are there. Now, one of the things that you might like to do is if you ever need to move any of the buttons on the page, there's a few ways you can do it. First of all, you can hold down a button until it's pulsing. See how it's pulsing under my finger and I can just click and drag it around. One of the things that I like to do is I like to select the buttons. I'm going to leave Fruit as the category at the beginning, but I might select all the other buttons on the page, and then I might put them alphabetical. That's probably typically what I would do. So if I click this A to Z button now, it puts them in alphabetical order, which again, is just a way that when you've got a few words on the page, it helps you to find them. Okay, so now I just want to show you one thing. So let's just have a sneaky peek in here. I'm just having a look for something, a dragon fruit. Okay, I just had to give myself an idea. I'm going to show you Search again. So last time we looked at search, let's type in pear. As soon as we saw pear, it showed us so > Food > more > Fruit, [pear]. Remember, it navigates us through. Let's try another example. This time when we go into search, we're going to search for dragonfruit. So as I start typing it, you'll notice something that some of the words like draco and dragon and draw, they're bright and yellow. You can see them. That means that they're visible in the vocabulary right now. Whereas these grayed out ones, like the dragon fruit down here, it's kind of got a dashed line and it's grayed out. That means they're in that storage chest, so they're not currently visible. So what happens when you tap one of those and use search? It still shows you the navigational pathway. So it's a > Food, click > more. It's a > Fruit. And now when we actually get to the fruit folder, rather than us just tapping it and it's saying it like it did for pear, we've got dragonfruit, but we've got a little blue plus up in the top corner of it. And I can choose now to add this button to the vocabulary without even having to go into edit mode. If I tap plus, dragonfruit is going to be added. So I just need to decide if I want to put dragon fruits here on my primary fruit page, the page I come to first or > more, put it onto my second page for words I use less often. So it makes sense I'm probably not going to eat dragonfruit every day. So it does make sense for me to put it onto the second page. So I tap it here. And now I've got dragonfruit. Okay, so we organized some buttons on our folders. We even we made, no.... Where did we do? We even made our own McDonald's folder. If you've done a lot of customizing on a button or added some things, probably the easiest way to share it. You can share your whole vocabulary, but if you want to share just your one folder with a friend, I can tap on the McDonald's folder, and I can click here, and I can say share, and I can export the McDonald's folder, and I can export it using AirDrop. So it's really the easiest way. I won't do it right now, but I just wanted to show that using AirDrop to transfer folders or buttons from device to device is one of the really simple things. Once you've done some customization, you can also send the whole vocabulary as well. There's lots and lots of support articles about sharing vocabulary and buttons on our website and in the help and support section. So don't worry, I did that really fast. I just wanted you to know that was possible, that after you've done all of your personalization and customization that you can share that. Okay, so the last couple of things now that we're getting down on our list is I wanted to show you how the grammar pop ups work. I showed one before in my first sentences. So any button, the grammar pop ups are any button that has a triangle in the corner and when I hold the button down, you get a little pop up of different grammatical words that relate. Okay, so under I, there's words like me, my, mine, myself. These are all useful words. So let's try some of the grammar pop ups. [I] hold down go to get the past tense [went] [to], hold down I [my] > People , brother If I hold down brother, do I want plural brother or possessive brother? It's possessive brother. [brother's] "I went to my brother's" > Home > Places. I went to my brother's [party]. party, and wait, oh, I need to turn all my buttons on, [and] ate. [I] ate [ate] > Food, Not one cookie, [cookies], lots of cookies. So you can see. I demonstrated. [I went to my brother's party and I ate cookies]. Some of the grammatical pop ups under the verbs and under the nouns. So let's try one more. So we'll say.. [my] we're going to talk about [brother]. brother again. My brother, I know hold down, [get]. Now this time. Sometimes Proloquo2Go doesn't know whether if I haven't chosen a pronoun first like I, you, he, she, they don't know what kind of verb form might come after it. So sometimes the orange words you see at the top here are saying to you, what pronoun form is this? So my brother but I want to say my brother [got] and I can see got, right? So I can tap on it, my brother. But I would point out too if I'm not sure I have a preview button and when I click that, it's got a little green border. That means, you see, it says it aloud to me before I choose it and it puts it there for me to listen to it and see it. If I want to use the word got, but I'm going to turn off preview [got] and just use it. My brother got.. [a] not a, [the], > Action words. No, not an Action word. I want a > Describing word. And he got the, > more > Size and speed. Hold down fast. Fastest, [fastest], > Vehicle, car. [My brother got the fastest car]. So even under our blue describing words, you can have different forms of words as well. So there's lots and lots. You've actually got the words to be able to say almost anything in Proloquo2Go, in lots of different ways. Okay, so that was a quick demo of the grammar pop ups. Now the other thing is that by default, when you click the keyboard button on your bottom keyboard, it takes you to this grid alphabetic ABC. If your learner is ready for learning the QWERTY keyboard, or is already beginning to see or has access to a QWERTY keyboard, then maybe you want for them to be able to tap that bottom keyboard and have access to that. Right now if I want to access my typing view, I can do that by clicking on my tools, pop up and clicking typing. And this takes me to my QWERTY keyboard and a separate typing window. So I can type in words of names of friends and things like that. I can type them, but I can use a QWERTY keyboard, which is useful for many learners. I can have it speak aloud [David] still, so it's still there and I can even insert it up into my top message window so that I have the word within my top message window. Okay, if you would like your learner to be able to click that bottom keyboard and go to the QWERTY keyboard rather than that grid keyboard, you can change that. So you need to go into your options gear and just back out of wherever you last were. Because this time we're changing an interaction setting. And once you've done this once, you might not need to do it again. So do it along at home with me now. So if I click on the keyboard button, the toolbars, the toolbars for my keyboard button, you can see that the default is the grid keyboard. Let's change that now and say typing view and then go back. So back out of there. And now when I click on the keyboard button, it takes me straight to my typing view. So this makes sense to me for some of our learners that they don't need access to that grid alphabetic keyboard. It makes more sense for them to have access quickly to the QWERTY keyboard. So I thought that was something useful to show you as well. Okay, so lastly, last but not least, while we're looking at that bottom toolbar, I just want to point out one other thing, and it's about restrictions. So when I go into my options here, I have a section called restrictions. And this means that, for example, I can turn off some of the things that appear in ProloquoGo. I can turn off the edit mode, I can turn off the keyboard button, I can even turn off that home button at the bottom, which might be helpful if your learner keeps dragging their hand on it, and they go home when they didn't mean to. There's a whole lot of different things that you can turn on and off in restrictions, so have a play with that. Even maybe within the tools pop up, you might want to turn on and off some of those things. But I would really encourage you to look at your restriction settings so that you can turn off the edit pencil, for example, to stop kids editing the vocabulary. And you also might want to look at things like lock options. That allows you to lock this option grid here by putting a password on it. And of course, you want to be looking at your backup settings so that anytime that you've made any changes personalizations, you have a way that that's backed up off the iPad just in case, touch wood, something happens to your iPad. Okay, so I think that's all I wanted to show you on Proloquo2Go. So let's just go quickly back to the slideshow. Hi everyone. Amanda Hartmann, Speech Pathologist here. And today we're going to talk about getting started with Proloquo2Go. And this is one of our webinars for our AAC training series brought to you by AssistiveWare. As I said, my name's Amanda and I've been a Speech Pathologist with AssistiveWare for a few years now. And I won't lie. I love Proloquo2Go. I use it every single day. And I really.... maybe you've just gotten it for the first time and you're a little bit worried and don't know where to start, it kind of can be overwhelming when you haven't used it before or you haven't used it much or you bought it ages ago and you didn't look at it. So this webinar is really about getting you started and making you feel confident that you got this. You can use Proloquo2Go and you can use it for all the right reasons. As I said, this is part of our AAC training series. So what Proloquo2Go's purpose is, is when someone can't talk, perhaps for whatever reason they're unable to speak, maybe they can't always rely on their speaking, or their speaking is difficult to understand, lots of different reasons somebody might not be able to talk. And so we need something that we call AAC. AAC stands well, you might have heard of it around the traps. AAC stands for Augmentative and Alternative communication. Basically, they are any tools that we can use when someone can't talk. So anything that they might use if somebody can't talk or can't rely on their speech. And Proloquo2Go is one of those tools that somebody can use to help them communicate. It's a very powerful communication tool. And before I start Proloquo2Go and show you, I just wanted to give you a little bit of an insight as to why Proloquo2Go looks the way it does. So the vocabulary, we call it the Crescendo vocabulary, and that's the bank of words that Proloquo2Go comes ready made. And this is AAC app is made by AssistiveWare and it's for the iOS platform. So this Crescendo vocabulary that I mentioned is really based on core words and with also, of course, quick access to fringe words and also the alphabet. And there's a really strong plan in there for the use of core words, the motor planning. So the core words are always in the same kind of locations. And that's an important feature of the Crescendo vocabulary in Proloquo2Go. So the vocabulary in Proloquo2Go, the Crescendo, is what we call a balanced vocabulary because, we call it balanced because it lets us use a balance and mix of words for a wide variety of reasons. So we focus on that idea that with our vocabulary we can communicate for a lot of different reasons. We call these communication functions. So that's one of the advantages to having a vocabulary the way that it looks. We also have access to core words, to our fringe words. We can personalize with our own vocabulary and we have access to the alphabet. So those communication functions that I mentioned, they are all the different reasons we communicate. So we express needs and wants. You make a request, you refuse something. We also need lots of words in our vocabulary to get and give information. So can I make a comment, tell a story, ask a question, say what I think about something. And yeah, another important communication function area is that area of social interaction. So the vocabulary in Proloquo2Go has words so that you can greet, you can start conversations, tease somebody, tell a joke. All of those things are important reasons we communicate and you need to have the words for them. And lastly, the last section of communication function is that all the things that we do to help us be better understood. So if you haven't understood what I've said, then I might clarify, I might say it differently or give a clue. So these again, Proloquo2Go, the Crescendo vocabulary is set up that actually will allow you to do all of these different communication functions, which is really awesome. And that's part of why the vocabulary looks the way that it is. The other part is that there are core words which are called like the building blocks of language. And we use these building blocks to add meaning to what we're saying. So this is one of an example of one of our Crescendo core word boards. And the colored words that you see on screen now are the core words and the core words, as I said, they add meaning. So there's no point just being able to say "car" if I can't use some of these colored core words to say: "Where is the car?" Or "I like cars" or "I want to go in the car". So those core words add meaning to what we're trying to say. Now you also in any vocabulary, want to have access to some important fringe words and personal words. They could be words you use a lot or a little, but you want to have access to them quickly. So there's folders of animals and food. All of the dictionary that you can think of is pretty much in Proloquo2Go. And of course you can add your own special topics as well. And every person needs access to, and needs to learn the alphabet. So Proloquo2Go has access to an alphabet within it as well, so that you can flick to typing and type words, perhaps words that don't appear in the AAC, or if someone is starting to learn or has learnt, uses typing to communicate, then they can do that within Proloquo2Go as well. So all of this balanced vocabulary, what does that mean for our AAC learners, somebody who's just starting out? It means that they can build language with all of these words. It allows them to figure out how they can put words together in different ways to communicate, different messages, which is really powerful. But where do we start? That's the question, isn't it? If you've just gotten Proloquo2Go, it's overwhelming. And in today's webinar, uhoh, look at this long list. We're going to take a glance at it. We're going to look at grid size, we're going to look at how we can personalize some of the features, how we organize things. Now, sorry, that's a long list for us today. Three things I wanted you to remember about today's webinar is that first of all, everything that I'm showing you is part of the help that you can get within the app, which I'm going to show you. All of the information that I'm talking about is available on the website. And I can't stress often enough about how awesome our support team are. So you can always email our support team and you'll get really fast responses to any problems or questions that you have. The other part of this is that I'd love you to have Proloquo2Go open in front of you today. So get it out, have it there ready as we go through. We're just about to open up Proloquo2Go now. So I want you to get it out, load it, open it up, and try and play along with me. Play along with me, or do the things that I do as we go in this webinar, okay? So that's my advice. Also, you can watch the replay later, pause things, practice things. So I think that there's lots of ways hopefully, that you can consolidate what you're learning today. The last thing that I'll say before we crack into it is that the more often you do something, the easier it will get. So if you're learning something for the first time today, make sure you do it again and again over the next couple of days. And in that way you'll feel more confident and more familiar because you've done it more times. So let's open up Proloquo2Go now and get started. This is my 7 x 11 grid size, and I've customized it and changed it around a bit so you can see that. So we have what we call the buttons or the grid. I also have this little red dot that you're seeing. You won't have that in your Proloquo2Go. That's called my magic finger, so that you can see where I'm touching on screen, but you won't have that on yours. That's just for the purposes of the video so that you can see what I'm doing. So basically we have the grid with all of the buttons and anytime you tap something: [I like it], it goes up into what we call the top message window. [I like it]. When I tap the top message window, it reads our sentence back. So this is one of those ways when we start putting words together, we can hear our sentences back. When I want to clear something, I can tap the clear button once on the message window to get rid of one thing that add another word. [I like that]. Or I can tap it twice to clear the whole message. And then we have the toolbar all along the bottom here. That takes us to a few different things as well. So we have a tools pop up. We have our keyboard, which mine looks probably a little bit different to yours. We're going to talk about that. We have the edit pencil that we're going to do today. And we have the options cog or gear, whatever you want to call that little fella down the bottom there. Now the buttons [come] speak aloud, whereas a folder takes you to a folder of additional words. One thing that's really important in Proloquo2Go that you might notice is that the core words which on my page are colored, are always in consistent locations. So if I say [not] and then I go here, [not] and then I go here, [not] is always in the same spot. It does not move. Okay? And that's really useful. So you almost on every folder that you have, you have this U with all of our core words in really consistent locations, which is important. The other important part about how Crescendo vocabulary looks is that we want you to get to the words that you most need fast. So typically you'll go into a folder like, say, the food folder, and you can see I've customized this for me. I've added the foods that I'm most likely to say and I've got them right here on my first food folder. I can say [I want dumplings] really quickly. And then when I click more, which is down in that bottom right hand corner, I get more. I get all of my food folders, that full dictionary of food, other folders of other things that I might need to talk about. Okay, so that's the folder structure. You'll see that throughout Proloquo2Go. Okay, so I can write some sentences. [I want to play with you.] So I can write whole sentences. [I want to play with you]. [I have to go] > Places [home]. [I have to go home]. What about this one here? This is a little bit different. [She], hold it down. [likes to make] > Food, She likes to make > More > Dessert, [cake]. [She likes to make cake]. Okay, so those are just some example sentences. Something that I want you, to make sure that you know how to do... is if you push the Options gear, that right at the very top here is [Help]. This is the in-app help. And here in the in-app help is basically, it's the same as what's on our website, by the way. So you can find this on our website as well. But you can click all these folders on the side here. So if you wanted to learn how to search for a button, then you could click this and as well as there's a video in this particular article. And there is also step by step instructions on how you use this feature in Proloquo2Go. Okay, now, some of them have videos and some of them don't, so you have to have a look at that. But you can just click on any things. I want to learn how to add a button, and here's the instructions. So look for that in-app help after today. If you're having troubles knowing what to do next or you've forgotten how to do something that I've shown you today, then please go and search Help. So let's create a new user. Now, I will click the gear in the bottom right corner and go into Users and then add a user. Let's give the name for the user profile. I'm going to create this for Jess, my daughter. And next I get to choose my language preferences. So I can click on Language and choose, as you can see, I'm in Australia, so it's English - Australia, but you should go ahead and select the region and the language for where you are. And done. If you wish to create a bilingual user, you would add another language. Here you can see Proloquo2Go comes in Dutch, French and Spanish. But let's just create just an English user for today. So I will close this and then tap Next. Next is a fun decision. What voice will Proloquo2Go use when it speaks out loud? There are lots of voices to choose from. I've already downloaded some, and you can tap them to listen to them. [Hello]. This is a great chance to involve the person who will be using Proloquo2Go. Sit and listen to the different voices together. [Hi]. Let them choose the voice that suits them. There are children voices, teenage voices, and adult voices. I'm in Australia, so I will choose. [Hello] Olivia. [I am Olivia, one of the child]. And then tap next. Now we have to choose a grid size. The grid size is how many buttons we will have on the page. I can tap the plus button or the minus button to look at different grid sizes. So I can tap the plus button up up, and it adds more buttons to the page and the buttons get smaller. Or I can tap the minus button to go down. And as we go down, you'll see that there are fewer buttons on the page and the buttons are bigger. As a general rule of thumb, we should choose the grid size based on what the person can see and touch. Okay, so today I'm going to tap up, and I am going to choose the recommended 7 x 11 grid size. This adds 77 buttons to the page and gives me a great selection of words. Now tap next. Next, I will choose the skin tone. This is the default skin color of the people symbols used in Proloquo2Go. Next. Now, tap finish, and it will take a few moments to create the new Jess user, and then another minute if I have to download a voice. And now I have my new user all set up. Now, it looked a little bit different to the one that I'd already customized my Amanda page set. But what I wanted to show you now is just say, for example, we had chosen a smaller grid size. So I'm going to show you how to change that. I'm going to go back into options. I'll back out of the user settings where we just were, and I'm going to go into the appearance settings. And here I can change the appearance of the message window, the toolbars, but I can also change the view, which includes the grid size. So I'm going to click that, and we're going to click down now to a 3X6 grid size. So you might look at that and go, oh, that's far better for my child. It's not so busy and hectic. I think that we can work with this. That other grid size Amanda showed me had too many buttons on it. But I want to show you what happens when you have less buttons on the page. Because I'm going to try and write those same sentences that I wrote before, which was the first one was. Let me check. "I want to play with you". So, [I want] is on the home page. But now to say "to play," I'm going to have to go > More,  I'm going to have to find the  > Little words [to] and then go back. "Play" is an action word. Now I know where things are. [play], Do you know where things are yet? Back. Um,  "with" is a where word? Is it? No, I even got that wrong. It must be a > Little word [with] Yes, [I want to play with you]. I went back. [I want to play with you]. So it took me far longer to write that sentence with far more navigation. I mean, literally compare that to here, [I want to play with you.] I was a bit slow there. I missed some of it at the beginning. So, even though we think that we're actually making it easier for our kids when we give them less buttons, we actually put more demands on them to actually be able to navigate and find words in the system. Let's try another one of our sentences. "I have to go home". [I] [have], oh, I remember, it was a little word. [to]. [go] was on the home page > Places, [home] is there. So that wasn't too bad. [I have to go home]. Okay, now she, "she likes to make cakes". So > People, people > Pronouns. There it is. [she], She, home again. Oh, I've got "likes" on the home page. [likes] I need that little word, [to] again. I need an action word for "make" - [make]. Oh, there it is. That was lucky. And >Things > Food > More > Desserts,  [cake]. Cake. [She likes to make cake]. Okay, look, this demonstration, this part of the webinar is just to kind of show you guys that we really, if we dream big and think that we got to give kids more words, as long as they can see and touch these buttons on the page, it's really great to start with more buttons on the page. And now I'm going to show you two strategies that you can use so that perhaps it makes it easier to transition to these bigger grid sizes, which, of course, gives us far more, let's see, far more choices, far more words, far more language to communicate with, which is always good. So let's clear that message window. The first thing that I'm going to show you is the feature called Progressive language. So Progressive language is something that allows me to hide some of the buttons. So I'm going to click on the cog. And this is a vocabulary setting that I'm changing now. And you can see I have a button here called Progressive language. So I'm going to go ahead and slide the toggle to turn it on. And then I'm going to step to step one. So you can see what happens there is that we hide away a lot of the other buttons, and we just have this is step one. And that this hiding applies to all of our folders. So all the buttons that we don't need at this stage are hidden away on every folder. And you can see that gradually and incrementally, they progressively add more words until you've got all the buttons on the page. So my idea would be maybe start in the middle at step three or four and then slide up or down if we need to. But the idea, why would we use progressive language? It means that we have less on the page so that we can introduce words gradually. But it also gives us that idea that when I am ready for more words, I don't have to change the location of things. If I change grid sizes each time I needed words, I'd have to relearn where things are. So Progressive language literally lets me learn that no matter what, I know that, like, is always going to be there and it's not going to move location when I change grid sizes. Instead, Okay, I'm ready. I can take more buttons. I'm ready for that now. So I can step up to level four. So just say, for example, I just did want to demonstrate one other feature about Progressive language, is that if I'm doing an activity here and we're modeling throwing a ball and we're throwing it [up], up into the air, and then we want to say "down". And down, I think, is in where that empty space is, because down is hidden at this level. So what I can do is if I push my tools pop up in the bottom left corner, I've got a button now that says Explore. So as long as you have Progressive language on, you'll have this Explore button. So I turn on Explore and then temporarily all of my buttons are reshown again. So now do my modeling. [down] So that means showing the words, pointing into the words to show what they mean as I'm talking. So we're going to throw the ball [down], here it comes down again. And I can model those words and then when I'm finished, I can click Explore again and it's turned back to the grid with our chosen symbols hidden away. So Progressive language is one feature that you might like to use. I'm going to go ahead and turn Explore on and leave it to use it like this today for the next part of it. Another thing that you might like to change, and actually I do this regardless of the grid size, is I often change some of the appearance settings. So again, I'm going to back out of where I was. When you go into options, you always go back to where you were, before, when you were last changing something. So I'm going to back out again. So I'm back at the top level of my options. This again was where my help is for when I need help. But I'm going to go now into the appearance settings. As I said, this changes the appearance, like how the vocabulary looks to you. So you can do things where you can change the message window, you can change the size of the toolbars. And this is where I changed the grid size. But one of the things that I want to do is I want to change the appearance of my buttons. I want to change the appearance of the background color of my buttons because I can see at the moment that my color coding background is only applied to my fringe words. So that means when I go to my food folder, I can see yellow backgrounds on my Nouns, my food folders, but I don't have them on any of my other words. So if I click my color code and apply it to all now I have color applied to all of my words. And for me, when I look at that visually, I think that automatically makes it a little bit easier for me to navigate this many words on the page. So the default is where they're all white. But just by using that color coding, turning on the color coding for my background color, I think that can make a difference. You can also change the color intensity to make it really super bright. I don't know if I can deal with that. Some of those are too bright for me, but maybe even the light or the bleached, any of those would work. So let's leave it like that. Now you can see that there are a few other appearance settings that you can play with. I'm not going to show any of them today. So we have changed the appearance settings. So now we've got our color coding on. I think it's time that we should look at personalizing the vocabulary. So that means we're going to use the edit mode for the very first time. So one thing that I say, every time you want to edit or add some words to your Proloquo2Go, I want you to think about where it will go. So I want you to navigate to an appropriate folder and try and add the words there. Because it's just about trying to keep all your words organized as much as possible. Now at this stage, if you're just getting to know Proloquo2Go for the first time, I'd really encourage you to kind of navigate in and out of folders and explore things and get to know things where things are. Because once you start trying to personalize things, if you already know what kinds of folders are there in the Things folder, what's in the Fun folder, if you know what some of the Things are, then when you start thinking about what extra words you need to add. And of course, you do need to add words. Words that are particular to you and your family and your child or your students. Then you'll have a better chance of being able to do that. So my advice is navigate to that folder where you want to add something and make sure that the word is added in the right spot. So I'm going to navigate first of all, I'm going to add something new to the food folder. Okay, I'm going to add something new to the food folder. So I navigate to the food folder and then I'm going to enter sorry, edit mode. And I do that by tapping the pencil on the bottom toolbar. When I go into edit mode, the bottom of my page slides up. So now I know that I'm in edit mode. Okay, I have a little hat, uptown hat, a triangle that goes up and down that allows me to open and close my window navigation. And there's a few other bits and pieces on the page. Probably, again, a helpful tip is if you're not sure what thing to push or to do, then I can recommend that you push the little green arrow. What is it? It's a question mark down in the bottom corner there and it puts this overlay up that just reminds you basically what all the different features on the page might do, all the different icons on the toolbar there. So to add a button, I simply push tap tap to add a button on that empty space there where there was an empty button. And now I'm going to type in a word. So I type in apple. And as I do that, you can see that I had a symbol suggestion. If I wanted a green apple instead of a red apple, then I can have a look at all of these symbol choices that I have along the bottom. Okay, so I've added apple to my page. Now what else can I do, perhaps,.... So when I'm finished adding my favorite food, so again, when I navigate to my food folder, I want to put my most important food there. And when I'm finished, I'll click done up in the top right corner. So and then I'll go home again. Let's try it again, this time in our people folder. So I tap the edit pencil on the bottom toolbar, and I click add for add a button again. And I'm going to type in his name. His name is Lachlan. And you can see this time when I typed in Lachlan, no picture suggestions came up. So now I've got kind of a blank button with no picture on it. So perhaps if I want to add a photo, this little square beside here, these are my basics. Just remember, guys, too, when you're in edit mode, there's a lot of stuff going on. So just put your blinkers on and focus on what you need to know. If you know the basics on how to add buttons, a lot of this other stuff that's on the sides, you don't actually need to worry about. So we're back to editing the button of Lachlan. And if I tap on Lachlan and I say I can choose a symbol, so we'll do that in a second. But right now, I could choose a picture. So let's choose a picture, and I will go here. And here is a picture of Lachlan. And I'll put him onto a button. Okay, now let's do another one. We will add a picture of me. Again, no symbol suggestions came up for me. So this time, I'm going to take a picture live. Turn my camera around. Oh, hang on. How am I going to do that? Here we go. So I've taken a photo of myself, use that on a button, and then I'll say done when I'm done. Amanda. Amanda. Okay, so we have added buttons with a folder. Another thing, let's go into food again. And I've been exploring, and I found in my lunch folder that they have the word hot dog, and that's one of my favorite foods. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to edit mode again. I'm going to tap on the word hot dog. Can you see when I tapped on hot dog, I got a blue tick. That means that button's been selected. And actually, while I'm here, I found another favorite food. Of course, it's chicken nuggets. So with those two buttons selected, what I'm going to do is I'm going to copy them and I'm going to paste them back into my food folder. So I'm going to click copy, and I'm going to say, well, actually, while I'm in edit mode, I can navigate around, so I can push the. Back on the food button here and back here. And now I'm back to my first page of my food folder. And now I'm going to push paste on the bottom toolbar, and you can see that my nuggets and my hot dogs are there. Okay. And then I can tap them again to unselect them. Now. Oh, you know what? I do not like pretzels. Sorry. I do not like pretzels. So I want to delete that off this page right away. And the delete to delete something, I push the little rubbish bin. And don't worry about the storage bit. At this stage, we're just going to say delete it permanently. It just deletes it permanently from this page, not from Proloquo2Go everywhere. So I could still find pretzel if I needed to, at a different time. So again, I'm going to add edit. Done. Okay. So now let's have a think about two more things when I'm personalizing my vocabulary and editing things. First of all, I just wanted to show you that sometimes Proloquo2Go doesn't always pronounce things right. If I say [Lachlan], I don't know that it really pronounces "Lachlan" right. So I'm going to go into edit mode. And this time, anytime I want to edit a button, if I blue tick select it and push up my editing window. Now I can make edits. So if I wanted to change the picture, if anything I wanted to do, I could do that. I can do change the features on this button, but in this case, I want to change how we pronounce his name. So I'm going to push the little microphone button. And here I have a tool that says Edit pronunciation. So instead of saying it Lachlan, maybe if I type in and put a space in, if I say to them to pronounce it "lock" and "len", let's listen to [Lachlan]. Yeah. So that sounds better straight. Okay. So now every time I use the word Lachlan anywhere, if I've typed it or on any other button, it's now going to Proloquo2Go is going to remember and pronounce that correctly, which is fantastic. Now, what was the other thing I was going to show you? I know. So I'm going to click Done to say edit. So one more thing that you can do when you're editing buttons. And this is a bit of a fun one. So if you want some fun, that should be done. So what I can do, I'm going to go into edit mode again, and this time I'm going to add the plus button, and I'm going to write silly greeting. You can see I had to choose a symbol. Yes, I'll use that silly symbol. And this time, I'm going to push that microphone again. But instead of editing a pronunciation, this time I'm going to record some audio. So I'm going to do a silly greeting for you, and I've put it onto my chat folder so I can use it. I'll make it really nice and aussie for you. Here we go. "G'day, mate. How you going today? Oh, I love your work, beauty, mate". Okay, that was silly. I know it was silly. It's okay. So now let's click oh, I can listen to a preview of it. No, I won't bother. I'll just click Done, and now I'm going to push it. "G'day, mate. How you going today? Oh, I love your work, beauty, mate". Whoops. Silly. Sorry about that. So I just wanted to show you how you can add an audio recording on a button, too. So now you've got a few tips and tricks. Just the start of being able to do some things. What about if you wanted to? Let's add one more button. Just to show you one thing, I'm going to add the button of the beach. I like some of these beach photos. Is there anything better? I can click on my picture options. I just wanted to show you that you can also choose a symbol and type in the word and be able to scroll through all the different options that relate to that word. So I want to use that word, the picture of us playing ball on the beach. Or I can go back to one of these, but I just wanted to show you that by clicking on the picture options, you can also go into the back of Proloquo2Go and search through the thousands of symbols that are in the background there. Okay, so I'm going to click Done to finish that today. Now, something that's really important for you to know as you're thinking about adding buttons, sometimes it can be really helpful to search for something first. So I want to talk about dolphins. So if I click, the tools pop up in the bottom corner, and then I click Search, I can start typing in the words that I'm looking for. And as I'm typing, you can see things appearing. In fact, as soon as I see the word dolphin, I can tap on it, and it's telling me that dolphin is a thing on the animals page, but it's also in my water animals as well, which makes sense. So these are little navigation pathways. So now I can tap on it, and you see everything else is grayed out. I can click Cancel up here, which I won't do, but I can click it's guiding me through it's telling me it's a thing, it's an animal, and everything is grayed out. I can really learn [dolphin], where dolphin is. So I think that that's a really fantastic feature. And I'm going to show you more with the search feature in just a second. All right, so one of the strategies that we talk about when we're using Proloquo2Go is the strategy of modeling, and that means that I point to the words as I speak. So the AAC learner who's learning Proloquo2Go sees me do it. And when they see me do it, they learn. And so I'm going to communicate about things that I'm seeing and doing and [I like] that. And I'm going to push to the buttons as I do it. So I wanted to talk about the folder structure in Proloquo2Go, because one of the things that's quite powerful about Proloquo2Go, is that I can navigate into my favorite folders. And what's really good is I still have core words alongside my fringe words. Now what this is important about, is it means that I don't have to go all the way home every time to actually be able to say quite a lot of things so I can stay on my page. [where aeroplane] the plane. [do you see car?] the car. So you can see that there's a lot that I can say, just all on the page. Okay. [finished]. We're finished [on] the bus. [bus]. Where's bus? So there's a lot of sentences and phrases that I can say because my core words are alongside my fringe words. And this makes modeling a wider variety of words and sentences easier for you guys. I can also do things like, I've got the typing. So for me, if I click the keyboard, I've got this grid alphabet. We're going to talk about that in a second. But I can use them simultaneously. So I can say [I like], oh, it's my friend David. So I click here [d a v i d] his name. I like David's, And then go back, [truck]. [I like David truck]. David's Truck. So you can see how that you can use the core words, the fringe words, and the alphabet all within a single message. Okay, very good. So while we're doing that, let's have a think about maybe adding a folder of your own words. So say for example, you like going to McDonald's, and so you want to have a folder with some of your McDonald's words on it all in one place, so it's easy to find. So first of all, I'm going to figure out where to put it. I'm not just going to stick it anywhere. I think I'll put it on the food folder, and I'm going to click more. And I'm going to stick it on this second page here. So again, I need edit mode. Now this time, instead of clicking on the left side, where it gets me to add a button, this time I'm going to click, add a new folder. And if you don't have a split button in half and it's just a plus, then click that and decide whether you're going to add a button or a new folder. You'll get to the same result in the end. So in this case, I'm going to say I want to add a new folder. And the great thing, I don't know whether you noticed before, so let me just cancel this, discard the button and open up the desserts folder. Every single folder in Proloquo2Go is based on a template. These are these little words with T's on them. Guess what? Those are the core words, and they've got T's on them. And the T's are big glue spots, that makes them stick in the spot so you guys can't move them. That means we can be assured that the core words that we most need are always going to be found in the same location. Okay. So that's why we have templates in Proloquo2Go to keep our core words in the same spots. So if I go back again and let's try again. So again, I'm going to add a new folder. So I'm going to tap onto the right side of the button and say new folder. And my first choice when I'm making a folder is to choose a template. And because I'm in the food folder, it guesses that I want the core words plus these food related ones, which is a good suggestion. There are a few other templates that relate to the different folders or the different situations as well. So let's see. I'm going to click next, and I'll have to give my folder a already. It looks like I've got a nice symbol of McDonald's there. It already was in the vocabulary. So I'm going to create my McDonald's folder. Now, to create the folder, the spot that I have to push is I have to go on this middle toolbar to this done button, and that tells me that my folder will be created. So I click done, and now my McDonald's folder is made for me to add words to it. Though when I'm in edit mode, if I tap on something, you can see it. Blue tick selects it. But if I double tap on it [when are we eating?] It speaks it aloud. But if I double tap on a folder, double tap, it opens that folder for me. So those are some of the ways you can navigate around when you're in edit mode. So what are some of the foods that I might order at McDonald's? Well, I'm going to start with a happy meal. So now we're going to go there's a symbol of it, and maybe I might order a big Mac. Big Mac. Do I have a symbol of a big Mac? Maybe they're called a big Mac with a K. Are they? I don't know. How do you spell a big Mac? Shows you how much I actually go to McDonald's. I'm going to go that it's a C. And then again, I don't have a symbol for it. So why don't I go and choose a symbol and type in a burger and find something that looks remotely like a burger? That'll do, I suppose that could be a big Mac. There's no lettuce. Where's my lettuce? Anyway, you get the idea. You may well want to choose photos that you've taken. So you might choose a picture from your camera roll and navigate to a photo you've taken of the Big Mac. So you can see in this way that I can copy and paste words in to make my folder. So I might get some chips. Sorry, in Australia we call them chips. So again, I'm going to copy it and open up my McDonald's folder and paste it in. And that's one of the ways. And then when you're done, you say done, and you can keep adding more words to your McDonald's folder as you go. Okay, so we have already done quite a lot of things today. I've shown you the Progressive language feature. I've shown you some of the bits and pieces around the place. The color coding we did, we've started adding a couple of buttons, making sure they pronounce it correctly. We had a quick search, which we're going to do some more of in a second. But what about how our folders look? I want to show you something that's a really easy way to be able to prioritize or organize the words in your folder. And to do this, we're going to look at our fun folder. And what I'm going to do is I'm going to click the edit pencil to go into edit mode. And the thing that I want to point out to you is that within every single most, almost all Proloquo2Go folders, there are three levels of vocabulary. The first level, which is the number one level, which is where you go to first. Those are your high priority words. So that's priority level number one. And then you'll have the more button that's represented by the two. Then you'll have the second level of words where you might have extra words or extra folders. And then in the background, you also have what's called the storage cabinet, which you only see when you're in edit mode and sometimes when you're using search. So we can use these levels, levels one, two, and storage to move and organize things really easily. So say, for example, I am customizing my fun folder and my child doesn't like I'm trying to think of something they don't like. Lego, for example. Lego is not something they find fun. So one of the things that we have, again, I'll put the overlay to remind you, is that we have all these move buttons. It's really easy to move words between folders in this way. So I can move something off the first page and I can move something to the first page. I can move things to that storage chest. So in this case, I might do that. So when I have Lego selected, I'm going to click move and it moved it away. Now I'm going to open up my storage chest. You can see Lego moved there. Let me find some things that I do think are fun. The playground, the scooter, the magic. Oh, I love adventures. Oh, I love a tickle. Okay, so I found some really fun things for me on my Fun folder. That saves me a lot of time. I don't have to add them individually. I can just add them directly from this storage chest. And so what I'm going to do is I'm going to push the number one down the bottom here. That will move them to my primary level. I'll say done. Now let's see what happens when I go to my Fun folder. Look. Adventure magic playground scooter are all there and Lego is gone. So it's a really good idea for important folders for your student is to customize them. Let's do it one more time. This time we'll do it on our Fruit folder. So I'm going to edit my Fruit folder. I navigate there first and then click the pencil to go into edit mode. And I can have a look at what's on each level. So if I go, oh, pears. I just found pears on the second level. And I eat those a lot and raspberries and blueberries. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to click the one button to move them up. I'm going to go back to the first page and check, oh, peaches. Peaches are out of season at the moment. I can't really eat those. And same with cherries. So I'm going to move them, I'm going to get rid of them. I'm just going to move them to the second page. Now they're on the second page. Okay, what about my storage? What extra fruit do I have in my storage? Okay, I need kiwi fruit and I need mangoes because I'm in Australia and maybe passionfruit and who knows what else I might need? Some dates. Why not? Oh, a lychee. I keep finding different fruits I need. And again, this time I'm going to move them up to the first level. So now those foods that I bought out of the storage are now appearing on my first page. So again, the whole idea is when someone's using it, if they are fruits that they use often, that they'll find them here first. Now, why don't we just put all the fruit on the first page? Well, that's about just about efficiency. If I had all my fruits listed on one page, plus my core words, then sometimes it might be overwhelming for me to scroll through and find the ones that I need. So we find it much easier to categorize and organize your words so that the ones that I most see are there. Now, one of the things that you might like to do is if you ever need to move any of the buttons on the page, there's a few ways you can do it. First of all, you can hold down a button until it's pulsing. See how it's pulsing under my finger and I can just click and drag it around. One of the things that I like to do is I like to select the buttons. I'm going to leave Fruit as the category at the beginning, but I might select all the other buttons on the page, and then I might put them alphabetical. That's probably typically what I would do. So if I click this A to Z button now, it puts them in alphabetical order, which again, is just a way that when you've got a few words on the page, it helps you to find them. Okay, so now I just want to show you one thing. So let's just have a sneaky peek in here. I'm just having a look for something, a dragon fruit. Okay, I just had to give myself an idea. I'm going to show you Search again. So last time we looked at search, let's type in pear. As soon as we saw pear, it showed us so > Food > more > Fruit, [pear]. Remember, it navigates us through. Let's try another example. This time when we go into search, we're going to search for dragonfruit. So as I start typing it, you'll notice something that some of the words like draco and dragon and draw, they're bright and yellow. You can see them. That means that they're visible in the vocabulary right now. Whereas these grayed out ones, like the dragon fruit down here, it's kind of got a dashed line and it's grayed out. That means they're in that storage chest, so they're not currently visible. So what happens when you tap one of those and use search? It still shows you the navigational pathway. So it's a > Food, click > more. It's a > Fruit. And now when we actually get to the fruit folder, rather than us just tapping it and it's saying it like it did for pear, we've got dragonfruit, but we've got a little blue plus up in the top corner of it. And I can choose now to add this button to the vocabulary without even having to go into edit mode. If I tap plus, dragonfruit is going to be added. So I just need to decide if I want to put dragon fruits here on my primary fruit page, the page I come to first or > more, put it onto my second page for words I use less often. So it makes sense I'm probably not going to eat dragonfruit every day. So it does make sense for me to put it onto the second page. So I tap it here. And now I've got dragonfruit. Okay, so we organized some buttons on our folders. We even we made, no.... Where did we do? We even made our own McDonald's folder. If you've done a lot of customizing on a button or added some things, probably the easiest way to share it. You can share your whole vocabulary, but if you want to share just your one folder with a friend, I can tap on the McDonald's folder, and I can click here, and I can say share, and I can export the McDonald's folder, and I can export it using AirDrop. So it's really the easiest way. I won't do it right now, but I just wanted to show that using AirDrop to transfer folders or buttons from device to device is one of the really simple things. Once you've done some customization, you can also send the whole vocabulary as well. There's lots and lots of support articles about sharing vocabulary and buttons on our website and in the help and support section. So don't worry, I did that really fast. I just wanted you to know that was possible, that after you've done all of your personalization and customization that you can share that. Okay, so the last couple of things now that we're getting down on our list is I wanted to show you how the grammar pop ups work. I showed one before in my first sentences. So any button, the grammar pop ups are any button that has a triangle in the corner and when I hold the button down, you get a little pop up of different grammatical words that relate. Okay, so under I, there's words like me, my, mine, myself. These are all useful words. So let's try some of the grammar pop ups. [I] hold down go to get the past tense [went] [to], hold down I [my] > People , brother If I hold down brother, do I want plural brother or possessive brother? It's possessive brother. [brother's] "I went to my brother's"  > Home > Places. I went to my brother's [party]. party,  and wait, oh, I need to turn all my buttons on, [and] ate. [I] ate [ate] > Food, Not one cookie, [cookies], lots of cookies. So you can see. I demonstrated. [I went to my brother's party and I ate cookies]. Some of the grammatical pop ups under the verbs and under the nouns. So let's try one more. So we'll say.. [my] we're going to talk about [brother]. brother again. My brother, I know hold down, [get]. Now this time. Sometimes Proloquo2Go doesn't know whether if I haven't chosen a pronoun first like I, you, he, she, they don't know what kind of verb form might come after it. So sometimes the orange words you see at the top here are saying to you, what pronoun form is this? So my brother but I want to say my brother [got] and I can see got, right? So I can tap on it, my brother. But I would point out too if I'm not sure I have a preview button and when I click that, it's got a little green border. That means, you see, it says it aloud to me before I choose it and it puts it there for me to listen to it and see it. If I want to use the word got, but I'm going to turn off preview [got] and just use it. My brother got.. [a] not a, [the], > Action words. No, not an Action word. I want a > Describing word. And he got the, > more > Size and speed. Hold down fast. Fastest, [fastest], > Vehicle, car. [My brother got the fastest car]. So even under our blue describing words, you can have different forms of words as well. So there's lots and lots. You've actually got the words to be able to say almost anything in Proloquo2Go, in lots of different ways. Okay, so that was a quick demo of the grammar pop ups. Now the other thing is that by default, when you click the keyboard button on your bottom keyboard, it takes you to this grid alphabetic ABC. If your learner is ready for learning the QWERTY keyboard, or is already beginning to see or has access to a QWERTY keyboard, then maybe you want for them to be able to tap that bottom keyboard and have access to that. Right now if I want to access my typing view, I can do that by clicking on my tools, pop up and clicking typing. And this takes me to my QWERTY keyboard and a separate typing window. So I can type in words of names of friends and things like that. I can type them, but I can use a QWERTY keyboard, which is useful for many learners. I can have it speak aloud [David] still, so it's still there and I can even insert it up into my top message window so that I have the word within my top message window. Okay, if you would like your learner to be able to click that bottom keyboard and go to the QWERTY keyboard rather than that grid keyboard, you can change that. So you need to go into your options gear and just back out of wherever you last were. Because this time we're changing an interaction setting. And once you've done this once, you might not need to do it again. So do it along at home with me now. So if I click on the keyboard button, the toolbars, the toolbars for my keyboard button, you can see that the default is the grid keyboard. Let's change that now and say typing view and then go back. So back out of there. And now when I click on the keyboard button, it takes me straight to my typing view. So this makes sense to me for some of our learners that they don't need access to that grid alphabetic keyboard. It makes more sense for them to have access quickly to the QWERTY keyboard. So I thought that was something useful to show you as well. Okay, so lastly, last but not least, while we're looking at that bottom toolbar, I just want to point out one other thing, and it's about restrictions. So when I go into my options here, I have a section called restrictions. And this means that, for example, I can turn off some of the things that appear in ProloquoGo. I can turn off the edit mode, I can turn off the keyboard button, I can even turn off that home button at the bottom, which might be helpful if your learner keeps dragging their hand on it, and they go home when they didn't mean to. There's a whole lot of different things that you can turn on and off in restrictions, so have a play with that. Even maybe within the tools pop up, you might want to turn on and off some of those things. But I would really encourage you to look at your restriction settings so that you can turn off the edit pencil, for example, to stop kids editing the vocabulary. And you also might want to look at things like lock options. That allows you to lock this option grid here by putting a password on it. And of course, you want to be looking at your backup settings so that anytime that you've made any changes personalizations, you have a way that that's backed up off the iPad just in case, touch wood, something happens to your iPad. Okay, so I think that's all I wanted to show you on Proloquo2Go. So let's just go quickly back to the slideshow.
