Pendahuluan

• Topik: Cara menelpon dan menerima telepon dalam bahasa Inggris.
• 4 tips penting yang akan dibahas:
  1. Menjawab telepon.
  2. Meminta berbicara dengan seseorang.
  3. Meminta seseorang untuk menunggu.
  4. Mengambil dan meninggalkan pesan.

1. Menjawab Telepon

Cara Formal:

• Frase: "Hello, thank you for calling. This is Jani. How can I help you?"
  • Bahasa Indonesia: "Halo, terima kasih sudah menelepon. Saya Jenny, ada yang bisa dibantu?"

Cara Informal:

• Frase: "Hi, Jenny speaking."
• Contoh: "Hi Shane, thanks for calling me back, I was just about to call you."

2. Meminta Berbicara dengan Seseorang

Jika mengenali suara:

• Frase: "Are you available or free?"

Jika tidak mengenali suara:

• Frase:
  • "Is Shane available?"
  • "I'd like to talk to Shane, please."
  • "Is it convenient to talk at the moment?"

3. Meminta Seseorang untuk Menunggu

• Frase:
  • "Hang on for a moment please."
  • "Hold the line please."
  • "Can I put you on hold for a second?"
  • "Would you mind holding for just a moment?"

4. Mengambil dan Meninggalkan Pesan

Jika orang yang dicari tidak ada:

• Frase:
  • "I'm sorry, she isn't available at the moment. Can I take a message for her?"
  • "If you leave a message, I'll be sure to get it to him as soon as he is available."
  • "She is away at the moment. May I ask who is calling?"
  • "Okay, I will let him or her know that you called."

Jika meninggalkan pesan:

• Frase:
  • "Thank you. Please tell her Shane called. Ask her to call me back."
  • "Could you have her return my call tomorrow?"
  • "I don't have any message for her or him. I will call back later."

Frasa Tambahan untuk Bertelepon

1. "I have another phone call. I will call you back later."
2. "Sorry, you must have dialed the wrong number."
3. "Would you mind slowing down?"
4. "Would you mind to repeat? I didn't catch that."
5. "Sorry, I got a very weak signal here. Could you please repeat?"
6. "Sorry, I'm running out of credit. Call you back later."
