I also have a call then really sorry I wanted to make this video with a bit more of energy but you know this is what you get when it's [ __ ] -1 and we don't have any radiator in the house this is probably the most requested video I get and I've been getting this requested for forever I am going to be doing an ultimate guide to how to study in the UK so how to apply how to find accomodation how a university works how you're going to get in the university thinking about going to university moving country how are you going to be treated the pro and cons the lungs the money and everything that revolves around the world of university when you are an international student so you come from the EU first thing I'm going to say this is all based on my personal experience if someone else at a different experience for mine is probably going to give you different advices I am going to give you objective facts but also subjective opinions in terms of applying to a university in the UK I personally always suggest to be a year in advance because there are so many things that you need to look after and you like to look at that I wouldn't want to rush it I wouldn't want to be doing something quickly just because you want to go and then you ends up in a university you don't like you in the unprepared and with our money so in terms of money living in the UK living in London for my experience is pretty expensive especially living in London it's very difficult to find an accommodation which means a house for less than around 500 pounds if you're able to go in a zone that it's not too expensive so maybe not someone but some too and also you need to consider some other things if you're going to be an international student so you're going to come from outside the UK you have three options first option for your first year of moving into new country university usually provides student halls or student accommodations which means they provide you with an accommodation for students just for students that you're just going to be having to apply and since you're going to be international you're probably going to get it as well and this place is going to be your new house you're going to share with it new students and it's just going to be easier for you to sell down for the first year but cons are that they're usually more expensive that it would be to get a house with friends also student accommodations can get very noisy and a lot of people are usually part in in this places so it depends on what you're looking for when you're going to university it's not bad to do a bit of party and independence how much you're into this kind of stuff as well and which university you go to as well the other option you have is finding a house through agencies and websites online like spare room so plum right move thing is if you're going through an agency is sometimes some landlords as well they will want you to sing so you're a student either one have a guarantor based in the UK that earns more than like thirty thousand pounds a year that can guarantee for you that if you can't be rent basically basically they will pay for you which is a big responsibility and if you were born in the UK you would probably use your parents but since you are not and you're just about to move as long as you didn't have a really close family friend that's happy to guarantee for you that might be a bit complicated you shouldn't know anyone some other agencies allow you to pay six months of rent in advance which if you can afford it it's a good compromise because obviously you're still going to have to pay that amount of money if not immediately in the span of of six months but obviously it's one of your more than three thousand pounds so maybe for the first year if you're not ready to look into like looking for a house or you don't have enough knowledge or you don't know enough people and then you don't want to share with people you don't know there are no students you might want to look into student accommodation for the first year in terms of money apart from accommodation you need to consider that there's going to be transport which you're going to have a discount because your student which is a discount of I think is twenty or thirty percent on the normal fare but it's still going to be a certain amount of money so I think if you want to go from someone - and your student it's something around 90 pounds a month so you need to add that to your already 500 pounds of accommodation plus bills because isn't always included like tricity water Internet and all that if you go to student accommodations usually bills though are included that you need to out all of your food if you ever want to go out and buy yourself something if you need something so I would say if you're looking to have a decent lifestyle that means not leading and surviving out of pot noodles which I did for two months and it was the most unhealthy I've ever been in my entire life I would look to spend around nine hundred a thousand pounds a month to live in London obviously outside London things are Ricci per but I'm speaking for my experience in terms of pain accommodation if possible I would suggest to have your parents helping you out at the beginning because you're going to be having to find a job we then go on to the idea of getting alone because obviously university is expensive most university in england are around 9,000 pounds a year pretty much nobody can afford this so everyone goes to the government and applies for the student finance which is alone that the government gives you to pay for your university and that you're going to be having to repay back on see you starting working and you're earning a certain amount of money I'm not going to go too into this because it's very complicated and I prefer you for you to go and read all the details on student fine on website I've put in all the links of everything I'm talking about in the description down below but basically they will give you the money there is a tax interest you're going to have to give it back you're not going to be happy to be anything after you become 65 but it's still a debt it's something you have to pay but my view and this is if you don't invest in your education that it's going to guarantee you a future and it's going to make you grow and make you the person that you're going to be for the rest of your life hopefully or you're going to mess on so I think is a good pop compromise in the end in terms of loan UK student can get maintenance loan as well so they get money based on the incomes of their parents and a certain amount of other stuff and they get sort of like a certain amount of money throughout the year to pay for a combination food and other stuff international students don't people from the e con like you can't get a maintenance until you haven't lived in England for at least three years it's supposed to give a negative thing because I mean you don't want to have to be more money to the government but also it means that you have to work so another thing you're gonna have to do where you're University it's gonna be hard because you're gonna have to do si you're gonna have to go to lecture you're going to have to be in uni you're going to have to do the university life in your student life and study and what am on job that I usually suggest when it comes to this it's usually potala t because you can have brief flexible hours so like either working in cafes pubs restaurants or you can go to events agencies that will get you offer your work they will give you all we've got this event this time this day do you want to work globo on and you basically do a training with then you learn how to open bottles of wine and that sort of stuff and after that you are going to be able to work for this agency and earn money on your account it is a very bad job I won't lie to you I did it for two years and a half they treat you like you're nothing because everyone's doing your loads of people dress it's all the same that server events but you might not working with really cool people I've been working for the real family Matt Smith and some other celebrities and I've been working on some really concerts I listen to the music sometimes you do end up in really cool events sometimes it's just the most boring shift in the world people are awful you get bored and you just want to go home but you need the money so you do as any job and it's not even so difficult to do and there are loads of agencies I'll just put the names and description down below so you can that's why another thing that I always just always talking about money is thickening up here there's nothing wrong with taking a gap year I didn't I went straight into it but I worked all the summer that you before for putting away something like a thousand two hundred pounds that I was supposed to be living with while working it worked but it was very very very stressed so for me I suggest taking a year out working full time for time as you want but you're not going to be having to pay anything because you're going to be home you're going to be saving all those money and putting it away so you're going to be able to afford and lots of work as much and study more and just have a little time for yourself and not basically spread yourself to things always just sticking a year out also for like just having a year experience of getting a break from studying working saving money having some new experiences and also for like thinking of what you want to do because it is a very big choice and I think taking gear out and like thinking about it with calm and not been studying not pressure is really really really good idea now on to you how to apply for University everything about University in the UK I mean in England works through the website yuccas UK is a government thing that is online it's a website you've registered on it and all of the application for the University and everything gets done through you cos you go on it you've registered and it's gonna ask you all of the details about yourself so name surname or from date of birth we live what you've been studying what work you've been doing something about yourself all the main details about you and then it's going to ask you a personal statement personal statement it's basically you trying to describe yourself at your best selling yourself to university why you're right for that university why you want to do it and there are losers Justin allowed to write statement on you cast page and also you can look online for some suggestions or asked you maybe your English teacher and they might know how to write personal statement and that's the thing that they're going to read to decide whether or not you're going to get into university or whether or not you're going to get an offer because after you've done all of that and use leti university you want to go to you because you've been browsing the website maybe you've been going to open days which I always suggest because it makes a massive difference to go to opera days and actually see University it's better to get cheap flight and try and see University you want to go to then finding yourself and do that I haven't seen it before you're going to choose from list you can choose University you can choose a course and you have a certain amount of choices you can do one choice in it's less expensive or up to four or five I'm not sure now you're going to have to pay a fee which obviously you pay for application they are going to review your application and give you either a rejection offer so like you're unsuccessful you're not getting in in any way you're just not qualified that conditional offer which is basically like you don't you will glue on to you we want to you know University you you cool awesome send us all the certification go and you're in got an offer you can accept it and you go to uni which is quite rare most University you would probably provide you with a conditional offer which means that they're interested in you but you need to satisfy certain standards and certification and just grades to be able to get in so then you will send them gradually while you're receiving all the grades what you get and if you match what they want from you you usually get in they might even want to call you for an interview and talk to you before for example my university wanted to interview me after giving me the ignition offer and after I sent everything if you are an international student chances are that they will want since English is not your first language an english certification I personally always just IELTS cause it's the one that most university ask for and I'm gonna put the link in the description down below it's around 200 euros and it's a writing listening grammar skills talking certification very similar to like the British Council ones it provides you with a number like a level of grade on your language and from one to nine I would suggest buying the books for exercising for a because the exercise is for a very specific and if you're not used to that kind of exercise it's just a bit weird so I would recommend buying a book and exercising on the IELTS so that you can actually know what you're going through and the exercise they're all very similar he's going to take you a day do a little certification they're going to like send you the location and everything like the futures it's likening sound basically eventually you're going to get a grade usually most University will be fine with you getting a six or a six point five which is really easy like I did in my fourth year of high school and I got an e-book five or something so it's it's something definitely doable and the certification is valid for a couple of years so it's always nice to have a certification about languages you know usek work if you don't get into university anyway or like it's nice to know that you know the language and you're you've got a certificate for there are different like timings so I would always just applying for university for new cast between September and December that's the best time to apply because I'm some university close they have deadlines for application but it's always better to be like on time and making everything without like having to rush or like doing it last minute and that sort of thing so it's just basically sending everything from September to December then it will give you the offers and you've got from January or twenty offer comes to June to send all of all of the documents and all of the certifications and everything they need from you then you'll also have time to work during summer to save some money to move out and start your new journey in terms of what they will send you I think you're gonna have to work hard and I always just as I said to start year in advance just because it's better to organize everything thinking about moving our thinking oh my money thinking about getting the certification thinking about getting the grades and in terms of the first week of university when you get there chances are you're going to be thrown into the idea of freshers week which is something that for example we don't have in Italy if a week where there is a party every night and you can buy usually like a bracelet or something that's going to get you into every party it's an experience that's very common here in the UK personally I suggest not to go to every party because they think that's the best way of socializing while actually I mean some of the people I met in freshers week I kept in contact throughout the rest of the time and year but usually you forget about them you spend a lot of money and I don't think it's the best way of getting to know the people that you want with you for the rest of your life I don't know maybe that's just me just so you know you're gonna get thrown into this video first as weak as a fresh-air because they want you to socialize best advice I can give you is literally be open to everyone talk to people because everyone wants to talk to everyone everyone wants to finally find friends buy new friends and start this new experience with like the best outcome possible so everyone wants to talk to you especially here in the UK everyone seems to be really open and most people would be open to talk to you so don't be don't be scared and try cuz everyone's as scared as you are but it's a new experience for everyone and throw yourself out there that's my suggestion dumb stencil wait cuz there are loans or loads and loads of people in university and you're definitely going to find the people you fit in with and get along with so that's my suggestion in terms of finding new friends and moving to a new country with people that maybe you don't know also just so you know usually University of got bursaries for getting your laptop so you can get discounts NP installments if you don't have the money to buy that my laptop you're going to have to buy some books but usually University of got libraries that will provide you with free books if you can get them before your course mates do I think this was a I think this was my massive video about how to go to university and replying to all the questions that I got so far cuz friend of mine came to me yesterday and she asked me all of these questions and I replied to everything but like you forget most of the things I say because there's so much stake into I was planning on making this video you like a few months time but I thought that maybe that wasn't a good idea cuz she's going to apply and people are still asking about these kind of things and I decided to do it now so this is my ultimate guide about how to apply to University in the in England mainly with all my suggestions and all that sort of things if you have any other questions I hope I covered everything that you guys needed if there's anything that you want me to pacify or anything that you want details on just leave me a comment in the comment sections I know I'm not writing reply and be as exhaustive as I can be in an answer I also have a cold I'm really sorry I wanted to make this video with a bit more of energy but you know this is what you get when it's [ __ ] minus one and we don't have any radiator in the house oh I feel like I've finally relieved myself making this video but obviously if you have any other question I'll be more than happy to answer and know how much of a difficult thing it is I did it all myself I went insane I genuinely did I think I would have want someone to explain all this to me so I hope this is useful good luck with your university application and I hope that you get in I will see you in my next video and oh yeah you
