ASL is a language. How is it measured? It has parameters. Five of them. What are these five parameters? 1) Handshape 2) Orientation 3) Location 4) Movement and 5) Facial Expressions. Okay, now, keep in mind the five parameters as you measure the sign, whether the paramters are correct. If all of these are used correctly, then the sign is correct. If one of the paramters is wrong, then the sign is incorrect. It is important that all of the parameters are used correctly, then the sign is good.
