GearAid Tenacious Tape Review

in this episode I'm going to talk about Tenacious Tape repair tape by gearaid I've been fixing a bunch of tents the past few days and I bought this Tenacious Tape to try out I thought I would work pretty well normally we would sew a patch on which is a lot of work and kind of expensive to do really time consuming where this is just a sticker and the cool thing is it comes in different colors I like the fact that I can get a color similar to my tent so if you buy the rolls of like this you get multiple colors they also make cool little patches that are pre-cut these are the Gore-Tex patches I put a tear in some Gore-Tex Pants the other day and bought these little Gore-Tex patches that throw on there I'm not sure it's important that the patches Gore-Tex I think this would work fine but I fell for that so this is way more expensive than the roll of this tape anyway the way it works is you just take take the tape and you cut the size Apache you want it has a nice grid on the back side so I can cut straight-ish I'm not good at cutting straight so it's nice to have a grid to follow here and I think the key here is you round the corners if you put this on with just a corner something could catch the order the corner and peel it up so I'm going to take a second with my scissors and round the corners this is my least favorite part I love doing repair I hate cutting these Corners it's kind of like doing arts and crafts I sometimes mess up the cut and have to redo it and it's just annoying but the little corner edges get stuck in my scissors and I'm always cleaning them up and it's just frustrating so when you when you do like 30 patches it's annoying I guess with one patch it's not that big of a deal and when you get the patchy warm I'm gonna find the spot I want to patch and you just put it down as a sticker now if you read the instructions here it says step one clean and dry the surface obviously don't clean like do this to something that's wet I'm not cleaning on my surfaces I'm not super worried about it you probably should again when you're doing 30 patches you probably aren't going to paint them all and then you just sort of set it down and do the best you can to get straight now if I was repairing a raft with teraid I would have to be really careful because the raft holds air you want that thing absolutely perfect and although it's nice to get this absolutely perfect if it's a little wrinkled or a little off I'm not going to stress about it this is just patching a hole it's we're not holding the air in a raft So speaking of Terry Terry is another great product product that I love for repairing rafts Terry would work good here it's just more expensive and I actually think this is better because I think this is washable I feel like if I put this on here and I wash this tent with Terry they'll get messed up I'm not sure about this I'm just guessing where this says it's washable and again tear Aid is much more expensive and the color matches it's nice to have a little colored path so I think that that's a really nice thing uh so that's it if you read the instructions says step one clean and dry surface we kind of did that step two cut pouch round corners remove backing did that round in the corners is important apply with pressure from the center out cool and then store tape and bag which means when you store this put it in the back in a little bag it comes in probably to protect it so that's the Tenacious Tape tent repair you can see I've done a bunch of these patches I'm not sure you can see but this is the one I just did here's a few more patches that I've done it's really effective awesome stuff I'd highly recommend it if you have other ideas for repairing tents for repairing anything you want to add your two cents in here please do add the comments that's how I learned things I'm not an expert on everything I've learned tons from the comments if you want to like this that makes me feel cool if you're not subscribe I'll feel even cooler and I'll do more episodes uh but that's it thanks for watching see you in the next episode thanks
