FPL Player Prices for 2024-25 Season: Initial Reactions

what is going on everyone my name is Andy welcome back to another FPL video it's been a long time since I've said that but FPL have now started revealing the prices for some of the players ahead of the 2024 25 season so I'm going to go through them in this video and give my initial reactions if you're excited for FPL to be back make sure to give this video a like if you want to stay up to date throughout this season make sure you subscribe and let's get into it all right let's start with the first price reveal that FPL came out with and that is Ling Harland who's absolutely smashed it over the first two seasons at Man City and he is priced at15 million the most expensive player there has ever been in FPL even when the likes of you know Ronaldo Lampard HRI Etc was smashing it back in the day they only went up to I think a maximum of 14 million so FPL have put his price up even more than what it was last year even though his points total wasn't quite so much there's been a bit of mixed reaction about this there was a lot of replies to my tweet this morning saying that's too expensive but I really don't think it is and the fact that he got less points last year shouldn't matter players should be priced on what they're capable of and what their potential is and when you've got a player that is consistently kind of 70% plus owned outside of injuries and stuff like that you probably need to put their price up because if he's 14 million and that highly owned his price is probably too cheap there's no decision to make there now when I first saw the price reveal I thought FPL mean business they're going to put overall everyone else's prices up and that's going to make it more difficult to pick a squad and we'll go through some of the other player prices in a second that hasn't happened so far it feels like they've just put Harland up similar to what they did with Trent last year and then everyone else is still kind of cheap so I wouldn't be surprised if harland's ownership is still pretty high is it going to H hit the heights of the previous two seasons maybe not but he's still going to be a template player in my opinion maybe the likes of sacka Palmer son their price will come up and it'll be really high and it'll be difficult to make a team and some people will choose to go without Harlem but I think he's going to be in a lot of people's teams also if I just quickly check here uh this is on the opta website this is what I use for the fixtures video man City's games opening five Chelsea away is fairly tough and they do have Arsenal at home in game week five so it's not like the opening fixtures are super easy but then you look at game week two it's IP switch at home then West Ham away brenford at home like are you telling me right now you don't want Haren if he's fit and available ready to go for IP switch at home it's going to be really hard to ignore him so I think what's going to come about is throughout preseason there'll be load to talk about not going with him and in the end people will go with The Narrative of it's better to start with him and take him out than it is trying to find a or trying to find 15 million for one of those forward spots so my bet is most people including myself will have him but maybe not quite as highly owned as as previous years if we have a quick look uh I don't want to go into too much detail about this because obviously you need everyone's prices to form a proper opinion if we look at the last two seasons it was 27 goals eight assists last year for 2117 points and the year before it was you can't see that there but it's 272 points for 36 goals nine assists it just shows what he's capable of just cuz he didn't do it last year doesn't mean he won't do it again so I think 15 million is fair but everyone else still seems fairly good value if not cheap so let's talk about some of those as well so Mo Sal is coming at 2.5 million cheaper than Harland his starting price is the same as last season which is 12.5 million which makes sense given how consistent he has been in a Liverpool shirt last year's total of 211 points was the lowest he's had in Seven Seasons at Liverpool but it's still over 200 points and he's done that every season sing Le year so FPL just couldn't price him any lower even though klopp is now gone so last year was 211 before that 239 265 231 233 259 and 303 there's no reason he can't hit over 200 points again so I think it was correct not to reduce his price it was probably also correct not to increase it because I do think klopp is going to be a big Miss to Liverpool there is going to be a transition period and it's not like I expect Liverpool to now be competing for Europa conf conference League places or anything like that or struggling I'm sure they're still going to be probably in the top four not even fighting for it but there could be a little bit of a drop off there might be a new way of playing he might prefer certain players over others and of course Mo Sal is going to start I don't think there's any question marks over that but it's everyone else as well so whether or not we'll start with him really depends on everyone else's pric which I'm probably going to say a lot through this video and how much you want to put earling Harland in but as often happens for Liverpool they have got a pretty good opening fixture which is like like man City's ipswitch at home in gameweek two Liverpool have got ipswitch away game week one so I'm looking at the fixtures right now thinking he salah's probably going to be one of the best Captain options that week then it's brenford at home United away borest at home and Bournemouth at home so three home games first five none of them are really that bad and then IP switch away first game and in terms of the difficulty of fixures opter have got Liverpool was the best opening five game weeks it's going to be difficult to go without Salah but of course if you have Salah and Harland that's already 27.5 million of your budget gone there are going to be enough enablers so I like the price um I mean to make it more difficult they could have put it up but I think given how they tend to price players and what happened last year Klo going it's probably fair so goalkeepers aren't usually that interesting to talk about but FPL did release the price of two5 million goalkeepers that's Jordan pick for the Everton and burnt Leno at Fulham both of whom did really well last year I think Jordan pford was the highest scoring goalkeeper I'm just going to double check here yeah he was 153 points then it was Ray on 135 and Leno and Anana both jointed third on 133 points so it made sense that pford and Leno couldn't be 4.5 million but also I don't think it would have made sense to put them like 5.5 like you usually get with an Allison or an Edison I know Edison's almost like a meme in FPL but they are the kind of players that usually hit those consistent highs whether you know Fulham and Everton goalkeepers can do that again remains to be seen But 5 million is probably a fair price point with Leno in particular pinia has now left I believe it's been confirmed by Bayern Munich that he's gone there so they will be weaker without him it doesn't make them a complete void but maybe a wait and see and I think Everton were pretty good last year and Jordan P was a very good goalkeeper as we've seen so I'd still be tempted by him but preferably if I can I always like to put a 4.5 milon goalkeeper in so I'm hoping I'm not sure who it would be right now but I'm hoping someone at a already established Club so not necessarily a newly promoted side comes in at 4.5 with decent opening fixtures and then we can go from there um but yeah 5 million goalkeepers not that interesting but Jordan pford and Leonard were both very good last year it could be the same again this year so we got a couple of players that were midfielders last year that have now been converted to forward so Kai havitz comes in at 8 million for Arsenal and richardon at Spurs is 7 million now with havit in particular I don't believe that I owned him at all last season despite how well he did if I double check for Arsenal I don't think he was the top scoring attacker no he was third for their midfielders on 180 points but only six points behind odard and then sacka finished on 226 so saaka is the best Arsenal attacker because of penalties and stuff like that but havit at 8 million as a forward could be interesting if sack's priced quite high like in my opinion sacka should probably be at least 10 million for what he offers like Arsenal one of the best teams in the league he's nailed on he's on penalties like it's difficult to look past him if he's anywhere close to that havitz price but if it's slightly different where there's a big gap then I might be a bit more interested in havs this season than I was incorrectly last year but obviously as a forward he will get less points because he'll lose the clean sheets and obviously Arsenal got a few of them last year extra point for a goal and stuff like that so I don't mind havs as an option in terms of the fixtures for Arsenal it's Wolves at home Villa away Brighton at home first three then it Spurs away and City away so as much as I've had like three Arsenal players the last few seasons I don't know if that would happen this year but I quite like hit's price and richardon at 7 million I think that's potentially a bargain like towards the end of last year Spurs were playing with I can't remember I think it was son up front then you had Vera and brandan Johnson and richison was injured for quite a lot at the end of the season but when he was fit he was starting quite regularly he was a let me just double check here yeah he started last year at 7 million as well but was a midfielder so we'll get a few less points but if he can stay fit and play as that number nine in that Spurs team I think it's a pretty decent price maybe again if we're going with the way FPL price plays it was correct not to increase reardon's price I think he can definitely offer more than seven but we're still quite early on before the first deadline for gameweek one so Spurs might sign new players and stuff like that but I really like that I like both of those prices they could be options as always not NE neily for game week one you don't have to lock every player in right now we can make transfers and stuff like that but I think they're both potentially really good prices so next we got some of the cheap Defenders from the newly promoted side so Taylor herwood Bellis comes in from Southampton at Just 4 million and I had to look at how many games he played last year 46 scored two goals four assists as well so looks to be pretty nailed on again we got quite a lot of time until the first deadline there might be new signings and stuff like that if you're a Southampton fan let me know in the comments below if there's any chance he doesn't play next year but things are looking pretty good if you need that cheap enabler in your 15-man squad for ipswitch leaf Davis is a player that a lot of people have talked about even before the prices were announced and he's coming at 4.5 super attacking last year 44 games two goals 21 assists absolutely ridiculous now obviously the step up to the Premier League is big iwi are going to be one of the weaker teams in the league it's going to be much more difficult to get those attack and return turns there there is potential there if the fixtures are right now we've already said that if you got to play Liverpool and Man City in the opening uh couple of game weeks but after that it's they're just at the top here Fulham at home Brighton away Southampton away it doesn't get that much easier like first four game weeks Liverpool at home City away and Brighton away there ain't many clean sheets there and there's probably no attack and returns either and I just think newly promoted def I've said this before if you watched my channel for a while you have he heard me say this before back in the day when I first started playing which is more than 10 years ago now you'd look at these players and leave Davis at 4.5 would be super interesting because you need those cheap players these days you just don't I I'm going to assume from the prices I've seen so far you're going to be able to get Defenders from teams that are much better defensively for probably the same price so unless ipwi you got a really good run of fixtures or Leaf Davis is just as attacking as he was last year it's going to be difficult to see where he fits in but at some point he may well do we saw last year teams like Lon Etc getting double game weeks all of a all of a sudden the conversation changes so I'm not writing him off or anything like that I I just don't see him in our gameweek one squads and then Ricardo Pereira is a player that people have probably owned before from Leicester four and a half million I surprised he was only 30 feels like he's been around for ages but for him last year 45 games four goals three assists and Lester are probably going to be the strongest team defensively that have come up from last year doesn't always always worked like that but I looked at the goals conceded in the championship Leicester were 41 ipswitch 57 and Southampton 63 so Leicester much better defensively obviously they'll have a new coach um this year to put that into perspective leads and West Brom that didn't come up 43 and 47 conceded so it switch and Southampton were a lot worse I've not looked to kind of XG against and stuff like that to see if um you know there's something to be found from that and obviously that that's things we can do as we get closer to de I start doing other videos but Ricardo Pereira potentially the best option out of this lot but I guess Taylor herwood Bellis got to get these names correct a 4 million is probably the enabler right now but there'll be more 4 million pound defendants to talk about I'm sure so at the time recording FPL have revealed the prices of three 6.5 million midfielders so you got en kunko at Chelsea March at Brighton and then Netto at wolves I think hunko is a bit surprising because last year he came in as a forward at 7.5 and obviously because of injuries we barely saw him play whatsoever I think converting into a midfielder given where he played when he actually came on for Chelsea is probably Fair even though the sampler games was very small it does look like Nicholas Jackson unless they make new signings will be their number nine and obviously he did pretty well for his first season in the Premier League as well so converting to a midfielder probably fine I don't really get the price drop like at 7.5 given what he'd done before he came to Chelsea it already seemed pretty cheap and obviously we' got nothing to go on so far because he was just so injured last year but I just didn't really see any reason to drop his price like you might say because he was so injury-prone that is a reason enough to drop the price but players should be priced on what their potential is when they're fit I think Aku at 6.5 could be just one of those players that is absolutely ridiculous value and almost becomes essential as long as he's fit I guess one thing which we thought he might have last year was penalties and that didn't happen Palmer was so good he's not going to lose them is that enough to wipe off 1 million off his price tag I'm not sure so I quite like the look of anunu at 6.5 if he can stay fit in terms of the opening fixtures for Chelsea it's City at home first game Wolves Away Palace at home Bournemouth away West Ham away so it's not out of the question that I could start with him in game week one depending on everyone else's availability in prices and stuff like that I think that I think it's probably too cheap but let's see Solly March is someone that we didn't really see too much last year because of injury we know what he can do 6.5 is a good price Brighton have got a new manager now derer has gone will they be as attacking we'll have to wait and see but potentially really good value and Netto when he can stay fit as well and all three of these players are players that had injury problems last year we know he's great and walls were decent last year and and they're always better when Netto is in the team so I like all of them in terms of just really quickly on the fixtures for the other two teams Brighton Everton away mang United at home Arsenal away it switch at home Forest at home not bad outside of the Arsenal game and then wolves we've got Arsenal away first game then Chelsea at home second and then Villa away gameweek five so probably going to I I would say for most people these are probably going to be three players that are ignored but honestly if anunu starts smashing it in preseason he's going to get a lot of owners very quickly I think but I could be wrong maybe he'll just be injured all season and 6.5 would be too expensive so Bruno Fernandez's starting price is exactly the same as last season 8 5 million he hasn't had a price drop and I can already feel the eye rolling that is happening right now where people are just saying to themselves there is no chance I'm going to own Fernandez in game week one man united were terrible last year and I completely understand that sentiment I think it's underwhelming probably a little bit the 10 har has stayed on given how bad man united were last year the only upside I can see is surely it can't get any worse surely man united have to play better than they did last year but I also felt that a plenty of throughout the season and there was never a continuous spell where they did play great so 8.5 million probably feels a little bit expensive but again a lot of it will depend on what everyone else is priced at we know he's nailed on he's going to be on penalties Etc he's going to play every single minute he's fit and available for in terms of fixtures man united are kind of middle of the road so Fulham at home first game's not bad then it's brighten away Liverpool at home's obviously more difficult game week three but then it's Southampton away and Palace away so three away games first five but one is a newly promoted team and fullam at home opening day look if you don't want to go Fernandez I completely get it I'm not even sure as a man united fan right now whether I would put him in but I just wouldn't write him off I think that's important to say I said that during the fixtures video just don't write anyone like I've already seen people this player is definitely locked in my team I'm definitely avoiding that player you need context and that is everyone else's price minut availability fixtures and kind of all that good stuff so yeah Fernandez 8 I think if you're coming at 7 .58 is is kind of a little bit more hype around him but 8.5 I think for most people is just going to make them wait and see instead so we've had two 7.5 million forwards revealed so far Jean Philip Mata for Crystal Palace and Ian Tony at brenford as well as someone that always thinks the prices are too low I've got to be honest when I first saw the price for mateta I felt like it was probably a little bit High compared to what other players will be but also I had to remind myself that he had a great season last year and Crystal Palace under GL did a lot better and if I just bring Mata up here he scored in total 16 goals and seven assists I I think if I was on a quiz for FPL and someone asked me how many goals Metta scored I don't think I would have gone anywhere near 16 I know he did really well but I would have probably said like 10 or 11 so 16 goals seven assists 165 points very good and for that reason FPL FPL are probably right to price him at 7.5 and I'm wrong to say that's anywhere near um too high whether or not he can repeat that this season we'll have to wait and see obviously Crystal Palace have lost to lisay as well still got a fantastic player I think when they had a and Alisa Al Alis on the pitch let me get my words out properly um they just look fantastic so whether or not they replace Elis and how they set up we'll have to wait and see but Mata could be pretty decent I just need to double check the fixtures here uh Crystal Palace are quite decent fixures brenford away West Ham at home Chelsea away Leicester at home man united at home so first I mean first four or five are not that bad and I can't sit here and say that man United's a tough fixture because it definitely wasn't last year so Palace sorry Mata pretty good ient Tony currently away with England absolutely smashing it he's got a final to play yet uh before he even goes training for brenford and preseason and stuff like that will he even be at brenford we don't know I think most people would not be surprised if he moves I'm just not sure where it's going to be if he wants to stay in the Premier League Most of the clubs he'd probably want to end up at already have like number n's kind of set could he go somewhere like Spurs maybe possibly are they going to have the money to pay what what brenford want I don't know either way if Tony remains in the Premier League or even remain that's my chair by the way or even remains at brenford I think 7.5 is a pretty decent price like last year let me just check here obviously he didn't play a huge amount because of the ban and when he came back he did really well well but only for like four or five games and he was pretty bad after that but we know the quality he has I think I want to say he started at 8 million last year yeah he was 8 million so he's actually gone down in price probably partly he didn't play that much I think I think 7.5 could be a steal and wherever he ends up he's going to be on penalties he has to be right he's got the no look penalty and his record is just ridiculous so I potentially like both of these players will there be a spot for them if you want Harlem maybe not let's wait and see and then we've also got a couple of 7.5 million midfielders as as well so Jared Bowen for West Ham and then Anthony Gordon for Newcastle as well I can't actually remember how many points Jared Bowen finished on last year but I think 7.5 million is a price increase from last year let me just have a double check uh if I can get his price up properly so last year he started at 7 million so he's actually gone up 0.5 he did finish on 182 points again I don't know where I was last season but when did Jared Bowen get close to 200 again 16 goals six to say it's probably more than fair that he went up in price it's also worth noting that a few seasons ago he did go over 200 as well so he's more than capable and part of the reason why he always does so well is because he's consistently fit he's very rarely injured and he always plays and he always gets good minutes and sometimes those appearance points and stuff start to add up so Jared bow at 7.5 is probably fair I definitely think that Anthony Gordon is fair as well he had a really good season at Newcastle 183 points loads of players did really well last year and there's no reason to think that you know Newcastle will be weaker right unless they start losing a bunch of players I think they'll be just as good this year and Gordon finished on 11 goals 16 assists so both pretty good prices in terms of fixtures Newcastle second best according to Opa Southampton at home Bournemouth away Spurs at home Wolves Away and Fulham away and then West Ham where are they they're right at the bottom although it's the top on this but bottom of in terms of difficulty Viller at home Palace away City at home full away Chelsea at home so Villa City Chelsea opening five and Palace away might not be that easy but in terms of buying players you know are going to start you're never going to have to worry about both of these players fit that criteria and they got a bunch of returns last year so it's a pretty good price obviously if you look at it compared to like Fernandez it's a million less neither of these players take penalties it's .5 million cheaper than havit obviously he's a forward now so there is a good bit to think about it would just be really interesting in to see what the prices are the likes of sacka and pal because if they're high it does maybe become a bit more difficult to build a team that's all the price reveals I'm going to go through in this video there might be a few more that get released after I record this but there's got to be a cut off somewhere and I'm sure I'll do more price reveal videos over the next couple of days and try to cover as many players as possible if you're still playing Euro fantasy my final team selection for the final will be out tomorrow otherwise it's all FPL from here on on out so make sure you subscribe hit that like button I'll catch you again very soon
