the user interface looks like as far as the PT exam is concerned and then we go into the modules what modules pte has and then understanding the tips and tricks of course and then templates how to use this templates and do certain modules at a lighting speed and then how do you implement the strategies how do you learn about the grammar shortcuts and how do you implement everything in detail and in the end you also will know how to score 90 all and the very first attempt so let's quickly start with introduction PT is a Pearson test of English which one needs to give if you want to migrate to Australia and for other countries if you are a student uh youi you can give PT as well and aail a very good score and you know for the study purpose as well for mainly pte is for a PR purpose for Australia and it's a computer based exam that means there won't be any human sitting there is no human intervention so that's a bingo that's a jackpot right so get your test score within 24 hours within a day usually sometimes within 2 three hours people get the report because it's a computer based exam accepted globally for universities study work and migration visas especially for for Australia test your skills with respect to four components speaking writing reading listening can you really speak in English can you write in English can you read in English and if you can listen to English and understand it's just a single test no break in between 2hour test and compared with ISS this going to be less difficult all right so no need to speak to an examin there no human intervention this going to be very easy exam very simple modules we're going to take you through each and everything in just a while how the test works it's taken on a computer in a test center there are some situations where you can take the test by sitting at your place as well single test session of two hours no break in between test your skills with respect to four things like I told before real life English questions with 20 different type questions we going to talk about all the 20 different question types today and understand each one of them in detail with respect to the templates strategies implementation and everything mic position is very very important you will receive a mic something like this so basically when they give you a mic you really need to test the mic I'm going to show you in just a while but when you wear a mic this going to be the microphone what microphone does whatever the audio signals that you provide you transfer right this will record it and send that's the purpose of the microphone speaker what it is it provides it gives you the the audio this records it's an input device so you have to wear it something like this this is a wrong position this is a wrong position it should be just parallel to the mouth just parallel to the mouth don't have to keep it like this like this if you keep it here that's going to be a very big problem it echoes and one set do not touch don't try to adjust because all this will be recorded as a sound these are the basic things that you need to know in the PT exam well if you're not aware of this most probably you're going to make a big mess out of it okay there's also a link in the description um about the mic uh position if you keep it like this what is going to happen if you have a thicker voice beginning well everything will be working but there is a uh procedure you can check whether the keyboard is working Mouse is working just make sure you type and do things headset is working let's say you're talking you spoke something and then you stop talking for 3 seconds fourth second microphone will turn off so try to be continuous don't give some delay and click next uh before you've completed the task and ready to move on there is a next button once you finish speaking click the next button immediately I'm going to discuss these things in detail in just a while the three parts of the test not four the three parts the first is speaking and writing combined they're going to give you one timer on the the top right speaking and writing combined this part of the test will be approximately 54 to 67 but usually 50 55 minutes people finish it it contains seven different question types what are those we'll just have a look at it in just a while it's the longest section of the test and you will be tested based on your speaking and writing skills and you're allowed to take a note they'd have given you an erasable notebook and um a pen you can actually write it down you can do whatever you want you can take notes and then comes your reading module once speaking and writing is done comes the reading there is no break in between reading is approximately 25 to 30 minutes long contains five different question types all easy ones it's an integrated skill test that means reading module can actually contribute marks to your writing speaking module can actually contribut marks to your reading and listening everything is integrated unlike other exams where speaking means speaking reading means reading but here speak contribut marks to reading as well listening as well reading contribut marks to your writing as well so we're going to check in detail in just a while post that comes listening it's just a continuous test the last question of reading you click next immediately you go to listening there is no break or something it just goes to listening this is little lengthy approximately 35 to 40 minutes long eight different question types don't follow the video because uh lot many modules of PT will not give you marks you're supposed to click next immediately not practicing at all in your everyday um activity so make sure you watch the video in the end till the end without forwarding uh because here and now every um you know here and there I'll be giving you a lot of techniques something like this which is like you know skipping the modules and lot many things so don't forward the video the questions are based on audio video clips for the listening you need to listen to an audio and type you're allowed to take the notes so in the beginning before you begin personal introduction that is a unit where you click and you have to give an intro this is an opportunity for you to give your response to the selected institutions for example you are applying for one University so whatever the response you give here my name is nakul I am keenly interested in pursuing my MBA blah blah blah blah blah and I'm really looking forward to joining your institution if I speak this this will be sent to that University when you apply not important it's not scored don't have to prepare for this um the recording status says now you can start 25 seconds will be there to prepare after that uh your voice will be recorded the dialer box will say recording then start speaking no need to rush you will have 30 seconds to record your response this is not scored you can click next also or you can just say my name is this and I'm from this place and you can click next not an important module you're able to record only once and your response will be sent together with your score report to the institutions not an important module this is not a priority you can just talk and click next no need to prepare for this by the way and then we will start with a very first module called a read aloud okay when we talk about read aot it's a very first module and you need to be really really good at it because this module makes huge difference to everybody's score because this module contributes 35 marks towards your reading and 35 marks towards your speaking we'll talk about it looks something like this uh you will have a timer you will have the question number out of the number of questions remaining next button see beginning in 30 seconds it means the microphone will be active after 40 seconds so this is the time for you to prepare in 40 seconds you must read this text prepare you can open your mouth talk Shout Whatever you want once this 40 second is done there will be a beep sound indicating you notifying you that the microphone is now on immediately start speaking if you don't speak for first three seconds fourth second microphone will turn off there is no back button there is no restart button you have to just click next so you will lose your opportunity and you should just read it's a very simple module isn't it you just have to read whatever you see all right but this is this is going to be a very difficult module for people usually some basic rules we will just finish it off and then we take up the strategies tips tip and tricks templates and everything um six to seven questions come not just two three questions six seven times this appears the recording status box displays a countdown until the microphone opens usually 35 to 40 second will be given for you to prepare you hear a short tone peep after that recording starts it says recording um right now it is beginning in once 40 seconds is done it says recording in progress finish speaking before the program bar reaches to the end some 35 seconds will be given for that short paragraph 20 seconds 15 second is enough to speak once you finish click speaking click next immediately don't wait for the microphone to turn off itself what I mean is let's say you finish speaking elephant dinosaurus CES bear spacious liards and Asiatic wild loocks click next immediately this probably 35 seconds will be given you probably finish it in 20 seconds click next don't wait and we'll now get into the actual St strategy six seven questions will come 35 marks to speaking and 35 marks to reading reading because it's a reading skill most important module and 90% of the students have problems here evaluation what gives you Mark here content f mark fluency f mark pronunciation f mark well this is what Pearson says but everything what they say may not be accurate to sell a product let's say you have a phone the seller a product saying this an OCT core processor this can work like this is a magician it can it can predict that you're going to click even contributes 30 marks towards your listening 30 marks towards your speaking the previous module read allow is a reading skill 35 marks to reading 35 marks to speaking make sure speaking make sure to note down speaking is the most important module because of which your reading and listening can just so high 10 to 12 questions of repeat sentence do appear one of the little tricky modules but I've got every tips covered don't worry something like this repeat sentence looks like you will hear a sentence you will hear a sentence see the beginning in 3 seconds means the audio is going to begin and off so whatever you speak will not be recorded so be very careful be agile your concentration attention really matters so lost because people spoke perfectly but it's not even recorded because they spoke when the microphone is not on or when the microphone is off so make sure you see recording start taking immediately okay Basics Basics Basics pay more attention don't for the video here and now they were fantastic we understood shortcuts do we have the same in repeat sentence let's talk about the evaluation from the pearon team they say your response is evaluated with respect to fluency by giving five for fluency three for Content read aoud they said five for Content here content they're saying three means not a priority pronunciation five pronunciation is all about Clarity and the scor guard of PS also says if 100% of the content matches you get three out of three that means there's an audio John came to the institution yesterday that's an audio you listen to it and you said John came to an institution yesterday you get three out of three content because 100% of your content matched but let's say only 50% matched there are 10 words in the audio and you spoke only five six words you don't get zero pay more attention you get two out of three but for this two out of three if you are fluent you get five out of five fluency five out of five pronunciation the idea is try for this 50% whenever you cannot try for 100 % if you fumble pay more attention pay more attention among these three what is the priority it's 90% remember this throughout the speaking it's 90% fluency 10% content but what people do they go after content as a result no marks no so the idea is very simple even if you speak 50% it's okay you end up getting two out of three but you need to be fluent so you end up getting five out of five fluency five out of a pronunciation if you don't mind I'll just explain you this analogy in a mathematical way let's say you got five out of five fluency three out of three content five out of pronunciation 5 + 3 + 5 5 + 5 10 + 3 13 out of 13 but let's say you spoke only 50% content so you got two out of three content not like before where you got three out of three now you got two out of three but fluency was five pronunciation is five 5 + 5 10 + 2 12 out of 13 pay more attention to this mathematic analogy if you speak everything perfectly you get 13 out of 13 if you speak 50% but fluency is perfect you get 12 out of 13 and now this will be converted to three because one repeat sentence contributes only three marks 10 repeat sentences 10 into 3 30 marks so now this 13 out of 13 12 out of 13 both of them when you conver this 13 is converted to three this 12 will be converted to as per mathematics it would be 2.88 which is 3 only that means when you speak perfectly you get three when you speak 50% or 60% with perfect fluency you get 2.88 which is three only so the idea is very simple if you can speak perfectly do content if you cannot then make sure you speak 50 60% but your fluency should be very crisp and clear just like I taught you in the read of L without hesitant without hesitant see you should not hesitate without fumbling without speaking fast speaking slow by having a very good Clarity you end up getting full marks even when you speak only 50 60% content and that's the technique the entire strategy for repeat sentence on Netflix or some other television series and watch this video so they understand only the half of it they get to know I speak 60% 50% I get full marks and you know how they speak pay more attention education helps you develop critical skills like decision making and problem solving and this speak education helps you uh critical skills problem solving zero Mark the person spoke 60% or 70% but it was not fluent software will not be able to understand anything so the idea is very simple it's the fluency it's the fluency it's the fluency speak less you will get full marks you try to speak full and if you fumble zero marks not super it's zero super no no it's big zero I'm telling if you fumble it's zero so when you practice make sure you focus on the fluency listen understand just speak let's say there are 13 words listen to eight words and speak the eight words after eight words close the ears if you don't you listen to the 13 words and then try to speak eight words most probably scientifically it's not possible hope you're understanding if you can speak all 13 words correctly speak 13 words if you cannot then don't listen to 13 words listen to only eight words and speak those eight words fluently you'll get full marks sometimes repeat sentence out of 10 questions or 12 questions most of them will be six seven words sometimes 15 words if you're unlucky so for those you need to apply this method and no matter what never fumble never hesitate even if you speak 100% content correctly but if you fumble it going to be a big zero You' be surprised yeah I spoke everything perfectly why my score is so less everything perfectly that is what you are assuming for a software to understand you you need to give that fluency if you're not fluent try this man in Alexa Amazon Alexa or somewhere you speak continuously what sentence and speak by breaking completely and see what Alexa some AI told us it will not be able to translate it's the continuous speech that helps uh the soft s to understand so for this audio let's say automation is a term for technology applications where human input is minimized automation is a term where human input is minimized I'll get full marks on the other hand if you fumble automation is a term for technology where uh human input is minimized you spoke everything that's what you are assuming it's a zero mark from the software side hope you are getting it repat in summary is here contributes 30 marks to listening and speaking repeat at least 60% of the content with all the fluency do not fumble do not give pauses and try to maintain the speaker speed and pauses this is the fluency automation is a technology that enables you to do everything without manual intervention so there are some pauses you try to give automation is a technology which enables you to give blah blah blah so the idea is try to copy the speed and the pauses of the speaker if possible but not a mandatory thing if possible otherwise try to be fluent you have to get marks but never hesitate the the auto zero Mark automation zero mark it should flow and do not try to speak everything if you're not confident this is where 90% of the people get stuck and they don't even realize why am I getting less marks I practice a lot I try to speak everything that's the problem don't try to speak everything if you're not confident of it all right let's come to the third module in pte speaking in the pte called describe image four to six questions will come 8 to 10 marks to speaking not a priority but this module there is a way to trick the software what is the module about they give you a picture any picture can come 25 seconds will be given beginning in 25 seconds 25 seconds will be your preparation time you need to prepare for 25 seconds and then describe in detail what the picture is showing in the next 40 seconds this dier will start recording and 40 seconds will be given don't speak for 40 second 20 25 second is enough how to speak everything we will tell you in just a while there is a nice technique a secret hack this is a picture a pie chart or a bar graph line graph or fish picture my face building picture anything can be given and irrespective of the images the approach Remains the Same we will talk about the strategies what gives you Mark here pearon says five for fluency five for pronunciation five for Content again here nothing is accurate what gives you Marcus fluency 100% pronunciation means Clarity 100% content is 0% or probably 1% content is not a priority why the idea is uh very simple it's an image an image can talk thousand things let's say there 100 people here and I showed them the image all 100 will speak different differently isn't it so that how this poor AI artificial intelligence software can understand can predict whether you're doing it correctly or not it has to be very fair review isn't it it cannot simply say you miss this keyword so you're out you'll get less marks so what PSN is doing they're not giving any preference to content but what people do content this SW that psychologically we are locked we are trapped and that's what this exam is playing a mind with so give preference to fluency alone how to give everything I'll tell you not on the content not on the keyword not on the pronunciation common misconception I give more keywords I get more marks that's how our psychology works it's exacted opposite you try to give more keywords you're trapped let's see a demo of a na person who is new to PTA and completely fell into the pool of assumption thinking I summary you should write 50 to 70 words and not more than that we will see how to go about it what is the strategy this is same as little lecture there's literally no difference in terms of execution at the end you need to write a correct grammatically correct sentence all right so let's understand how many questions will come one to two questions Max not more than that hardly 6 to8 marks to
