ANNOUNCER: Today on Adventures In Faith with Jerry Savelle. JERRY: Last time I checked, the earth is still here. So if the earth is still here, then that principle is still here. It's still the way that God intended for you and I to have our life sustained, by the seeds we sow. ♪ JERRY: I can't emphasize enough the importance of sowing the seed. With that thought, let's go to Genesis chapter 1 real quick. Brother Copeland and Gloria and I were doing one of our first believers conventions in England many years ago. Actually, 1992. And the opening night, brother Copeland was preaching and the Lord said something to me while he was preaching, and it wasn't anything that he was preaching about. And I'm just sitting there listening to him and suddenly I heard the spirit of God say, what were the first three gifts I gave man after creating him? And I never thought of it in that- those terms, three gifts. So I said, well, I'm not sure. He said, well, if you go to the Book of Genesis, do you suppose you might find them? I said, yes, sir. So while Brother Copeland was preaching, I turned to Genesis chapter 1 and saw where when God created men, the first thing He did was bless them. That was gift number one. He empowered them to prosper. And then gift number two was dominion and authority. I said, gift number one was the blessing. He said, what was gift number two? I said, dominion and authority. He said, what was gift number three? And I couldn't answer Him right away. And He answered me before I even continued to look in the scripture. He said, seed. I gave him the blessing, I gave him dominion and power and I gave him seed. Those are the first three gifts that God gave man after creating him. And then He said this, I gave him seed because that's the way I intended for him to have his life sustained, by the seeds that he sows. Every herb bearing seed. So from the very beginning, God intended for man to be a seed sower. Thank you for your enthusiasm. And even when Adam blew it, you get on over into Genesis chapter 8 and it says, as long as the earth remains, seedtime and harvest shall not cease. So even though Adam blew it, God's original intention for man did not change. Seed. And seed was, in the... King James, and it says, every herb bearing seed and it shall be for you, meat. There are other translations that say "provision." Provision. In other words, God gave him seed for provision. This is how He intended for him to have his life sustained. And then in Genesis 8, the Earth... as long as the earth remains, seedtime and harvest shall not cease. So that hasn't changed. Not even up to this day. Last time I checked, the earth is still here. So if the earth is still here, then that principle is still here. It's still the way that God intended for you and I to have our life sustained, by the seeds we sow. Whatsoever a man soweth. Paul picks up on this long time afterwards and says, whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Another translation, the Philip translation says, A man's harvest in life depends entirely upon the seeds that he sows. Amen. A man's harvest in life depends entirely upon the seeds that he sows. So the way I look at it, there is no such thing as supernatural provision without the sowing of seed. Supernatural means you got God involved in it. You're not- you're not- you're not limited to your natural ability, your natural intellect, your natural strength, supernatural provision. You've brought God into it and He's unlimited. But at the same time, you were required, in order to have a harvest, to sow a seed. Can you say amen? And it's still that way today. If you look in Mark chapter 4 where Jesus talked about the sower, there were four types of soil that He mentioned, and only one type produced maximum results. Good ground. There was stony ground, there was other kinds of ground, but only one of them produced maximum results. Okay? And the one that produced maximum results, He referred to as good ground. So what you want to know is, get that Word from God, get the way that is right, then determine you're going to act on it and then ask Him where to sow that significant seed. And He will always point to you good ground because He wants you to experience maximum results. thirtyfold is wonderful, sixtyfold is wonderful, but a hundred fold... a hundredfold is maximum. Anybody want the hundredfold? When Carolyn and I first started this walk, thirtyfold wouldn't help us. Now, we didn't have a lot of seed to sow, but if all we got was thirtyfold back on what we sowed, it still didn't meet our need. We were forced to believe for a hundredfold. If I sowed it, I'm believing for the a hundredfold. But my point is, you need to find out from God where the good ground is, because you can sow and not get maximum results. One day, brother Oral Roberts called me and asked me to come to Tulsa, come to his office and he said, I have something the Lord shared with me that I want to share with you. I think it's important for you as well. So I flew up there and met him in his office and he said, the Lord just gave me a statement and I think you need to hear it as well. He said, the Lord told me, redirect your seed. I said, expound upon that. He said, well, I've always been a sower. You know, this is how I built this campus. I sowed seed and I've sown into a lot of other ministries and so forth. And he said, and the Lord told me, He said, the reason why you're not getting maximum results on some of the seeds you're sowing, because it's no longer good ground. And he pointed out to me about some ministries that he had sown seed in and they were not doing what their seed what they told him they were going to do with it. They were no longer, you know, putting it into those projects that he sowed it for. Not only that, some of them had got into sin, some of them, you know, were no longer preaching what they had begun preaching. And he said- he said the Lord told him, He said, redirect your seed. It's not going into good ground, not all of it. And he said, I think that's something that you might need to hear. So I was praying about all the different ministries that we sow seed into, and if I wasn't quite sure about what they were doing, I hadn't been around them in a long time, I would ask someone that I had great confidence in to just see if you can check it out for me. And come to find out, there were some preachers that I sowed seed into a project that they said they were going to do and they never did it, but they used my seed on something else. So that was a great revelation to me. Redirect your seed. Now what we do now, I mean I sow a lot of seed. I sow a lot of seed to ministries every year. And the ones that I sow into regularly, consistently, I say to them, I will do this for one year. I commit for one year. I want the privilege of being able to find out if you're doing with my seed what you said you were going to do. And if not, I hope I've been a blessing to you, but we won't be sowing there anymore, because I want it to go in good ground because good ground is where you get maximum results. Is this making sense to you? So sometimes you need to... well, not sometimes, all the time. Don't just- don't just go throwing seed and hoping for a harvest. Get the rainbow of God on that as well. Amen. There is a way that seems right. Then there is a way that is right. And God will always reveal to you the way that is right, including where you sow the seed. Now, if you're receiving seed from somebody else, then make sure you are doing what you told them you're going to do with that seed, amen, because they are assuming you are good ground. These are good lessons. Hallelujah. Amen. Alright. So notice once again, God's original intention was that man be a seed sower and that's how he would have his life sustained. Nothing's changed. Paul picks up on this and tells us that whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap. A man's harvest in life depends entirely upon that which he sows. So there's no getting around sowing. It's not optional. It is not something you decide to do for a little while and then say, well, you know, I- I've learned that lesson, now we move on to something new. No, you're going to- you're going to be a seed sower for the rest of your life if you want God's best. Anybody want God's best? Then you're going to be sowing seed for the rest of your life. If you want supernatural provision, you're going to be sowing seed for the rest of your life, but make sure you get it in good ground. And God will reveal to you where that good ground is. I was- I was in an African nation one time and I knew that Brother Hagin was supporting this minister in that nation. And Brother Hagin had given several- a lot of money for this man to build a church. And so when I was in that country, I asked my driver if he knew this man, this preacher. He said, yes. I said, would you take me to see the church that he built for Brother Hagen? He said, well, I'm not sure that I know where the church is that he built for Brother Hagin, but I know where his church is. It's not new. I said, well, take me there. So we're driving and we're out in the boondocks, you know? And we come up on this beautiful house over to the right, great big house, and it looked out of place in this area. I said, whose house is that? He said, oh, it's that preacher that you asked to see his church. I said, that's his house? He said, yes. I said, well, how far is it to his church? He said, just a short ways. I said, well, take me to his church. That church wasn't as big as this side section over here. He hadn't put one dime of Kenneth Hagin's money into a new church, he put it into his house. Had a beautiful house. Not one dime in that church that Brother Hagin's ministry thought they were building. So when I got home, I called Ken Jr. I said, you might need to send somebody to check on your seed. And they did. And consequently they quit sowing into that ministry because they weren't doing what they said they were going to do. So that's like just tossing seed to the air. Amen. But when it's in good ground, there's the potential of a hundredfold return. Can you say amen? 1 Samuel chapter 3, verse 9 says, speak, Lord, for your servant is listening. There's another good point. Are we listening or are we doing all the talking? Amen. We need to listen more instead of doing all the talking. Meet with Him regularly. You know, I have a museum. I call it a shop, but Carolyn says, quit calling it a shop, it's a museum. And it is. It's full of classic cars and classic motorcycles. And the second floor is a fifties diner. And the third floor, which most people don't even know I have a third floor, it's where I go to see God. And in that third floor- T.L. Osborn taught me this many years ago, he said, surround yourself with things that bring peace because tranquility produces creativity. And that was a great, great revelation to me. So that third floor, I'm proud of my Cherokee heritage, and so it has a lot of Native American things that I've collected over the years. I've also collected rifles and pistols and it's full of rifles and pistols. They're all mounted on the walls and I have weapons going all the way back to the war of 1812, and things that I like, that I enjoy, that may not mean a thing to you, but I like looking at 'em. I've collected 'em for years and years and that's what I have up there. And I have a desk, and that's where I go to seek the Lord for direction and wisdom. And I do it regularly. And I found every time I go up there to do that, He's waiting for me. He's waiting for me. In fact, I have a pad right there on the corner of the desk and every year that's where I have received my prophetic Word for the year. And going back to 1992, when I first started setting time aside in October every year, from 1992 to present, that prophetic Word is written on that pad. You can just flip the pages and see the prophetic Word that the Lord gave me each year. That's where I get it, and I meet with Him regularly there. Another point that is important, be consistent in this. Be consistent. Don't let anything rob you of your time with God. There's a lot of things that are trying to pull us in different directions. "We're busy. We got this to do, we got that to do." Well, you can ask my wife. There have been some times when I would say I'm going out to the third floor and it'd be late at night and I may spend the night up there because having the wisdom of God is that important to me. Having God's direction is that important to me. Amen. Knowing the good ground to sow that seed into is important to me because I want maximum results. Okay? So be consistent in this. I said this and I repeat it again, always have your Bible with you. Always have a notebook with you, or something you can write on or take notes on. And the reason being is because that shows God you're expecting to hear His voice. I never go into prayer and seeking God without something to write on. And I'm still old school. I like writing like you do. I got all that modern stuff, but I can write fast and then type all that in. But to me, having something to take notes on shows Him I'm expecting to hear His voice. If I don't take anything in there, then is that real faith? Is that confidence that I'm going to hear Him? I said, well, I can remember it. How many thoughts do you have in one 24 hour period? And you remember everything? You better than I am. I have to write it down. And the reason I write it down is because I don't want to forget it. Amen. So always have your Bible with you. Why do I have my Bible? Because sometimes my direction comes from something that is written in the Word or a story that is in the Word. An example. So I have this and I have that notebook. And usually for me it's a notebook so that I can take notes. Amen. Always begin with praise and thanksgiving. Why? Why is that important? Enter His courts with praise and thanksgiving. So I am just telling you what I do. Is it okay if I tell you what I do? You may have your own way of doing things, but my way works. Okay. Do it my way. So what I do is I start off in praise and thanksgiving, and then I pray in the spirit, but I start off in praise and thanksgiving because I know the Word says that's how I enter His courts. How would you like for your child to- every time they came to you it was "give me, give me, give me. I need, I need, I need, I need," and never thank you for what you've already done for them? So I start on with, Lord, I just want to thank you for that supernatural provision you made happen just a few weeks ago. Thank you, Lord. That was amazing. I'm still rejoicing over the goodness of God, the favor of God. I am so blessed to be one of your children. And then I'll begin praying in the Spirit. Okay? And I'm expecting to hear from God. So begin with praise and thanksgiving. Once again, be patient. Don't be so quick to give up just because you didn't hear His voice immediately. Psalm 27, verse 11 says, teach me your way, oh Lord, and lead me. Teach me your way, oh Lord, and lead me. Psalm 130, verse 5, I wait for the Lord. "Wait" is not a favorite word, particularly for charismatic people. We don't like waiting on anything. We're fast paced. We're a society that wants everything done quick and fast. Wait. How important is this rhema to you? Are you willing to wait for it if necessary? Amen. Alright, to rapidly close this, 1 Corinthians 14 to... just going back to praying in the Spirit. For he to speaketh in an unknown tongue, speaketh mysteries. The Amplified Bible says, hidden things, not obvious to the understanding. The Message translation says, you are sharing intimacies just between you and him. I believe this is describing the rhema word that we need to hear. Verse 13 says, wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue, pray that he may interpret. The Passion translation says, pray for the interpretation to be able to unfold the meaning of what you are saying. So what you're praying in tongues is the rhema that you need to get in position to experience supernatural provision. If you don't receive the meaning at first or the interpretation first, just continue to pray in the Spirit and then continue to listen. It will come. It may not come immediately, but it will come. And once it does, then be quick to obey and always ask Him, where do I sow my seed? Where's the good ground that I sow this seed into? Obedience always opens the door to the miraculous and to the supernatural. ANNOUNCER: Have you ever wondered how God will provide for your needs?
