so what we're looking at here is starting off our appendicular skeleton now appendicular skeleton are our upper and lower limbs as well as those upper and lower girdles as well so what this is here is this is our collarbone but our collarbone is known as the clavicle and as you can look at it it is a slightly s-shaped bone so this is our cloud now also part of our upper girdle is this bone here and this is called the scapula so this is our shoulder blade commonly known but this is our scapula we look at a scapula here you're going to see this kind of ridge like structure right there that is called the spine so that is the spine right there the spine comes into this structure here that sticks out you see where it sticks out there off of the scapula and that is called the acromion process so this is spine here this is a chromium process here there is another structure that sticks off so you can see it coming process there again this one that sticks off is the coracoid process so that is the coracoid process right there this structure right here that is where our humerus attaches in here that structure right there is called the glenoid cavity so that is the glenoid cavity now we look at a shoulder blade here a scapula the glenoid cavity is always going to be facing lateral away from the body okay so this is lateral on the scapula so what that means is this side here is known as the lateral border so this is the lateral order of that edge this edge over here is the medial border so glenoid cavity here lateral border here medial border here next when we turn our scapula and we look at it this way you can see that there is this little notch here at the top and that is called the suprascapular notch so that is the supra scapular notch once again i'm going to direct this to spine right here that is the spine in this area found above the spine right here this area is known as the supraspinous fossa supra superior to above the spine supraspinous fossa there's this area here this area found below the spine right there is the infraspinous fossa so here's the spine so this is the infraspinous fossa
