Effective Product Research Strategies

Product research. I don't know if I should start my intros like that every time because I did it one time for creatives and it was kind of cool so I might just keep continue to do that. Creatives! But anyways today I wanted to talk about product research and winning products because the last video that I showed you guys was basically how to test products and basically every single product that I tested in the video before was a winning product and I believe some people may have mistaken that the testing strategy will work for every single product.

Like they just assume that, okay, I have a product, I'm going to run Andrew's testing strategy, and I'm going to be profitable just like him. But you don't understand that a lot of the work was done beforehand. I chose a winning product, I have a winning creative, and then I plugged into a winning ad strategy. So you kind of need all three.

But today, the most important part, I would say, is going to be your winning products. Because unfortunately, no matter how good your ad strategy is, no matter how good your creatives are, If you don't have a winning product, it's just not going to sell. Like imagine making the best creative ever for like a fidget spinner. It's just not going to sell now because it's not a winning product anymore.

But anyways, let's go ahead and take a look at this one. This is the first day I launched this ad. $447 in sales. Our ads manager is at $201 as you can see. Our real ads for today is 2.23.

So we are really profitable. The profit numbers will be on the screen somewhere right here. As you can see, this is the exact same testing strategy that I showed last video. But obviously I have a winning product and a good creator for this product.

So it is going to perform a lot better than if you do a random non-winning product onto your testing strategy. The first one we have is an interest ABO. As you can see, first things first, ad sets. As you can see, I have 14 interests here. I turned off four of them.

So we still have 10 interests. That is the first strategy that I showed off, which is working pretty great at 1.9 ROAS. Well, we are profitable for this campaign.

The second one, as you can see right here, is an ASC and it is a broad campaign. Exactly like what I showed you in the last video. As you can see right here, one ad set, 2.56 ROAS, really, really profitable. And in total today, we spent around $200, as you can see right here, for $400 back.

And the profit number should be on the screen right here. But yeah, this is all because of a winning product. So let me go ahead and dive deep and show you how I found a winning product.

how to validate them because another popular video on my channel was how to find a winning product and it's been a few months since then so this is like the updated version of that video so if you watched that video before go ahead and stick around and if you are interested in working with me one-on-one where i help you find your winning products where i help you test your ads where i help you set up your testing campaigns where i scale your ads for you basically the whole nine yards go to the link down below and book a call with me because i've gotten complete beginners to their first 1k days 5k days 9k days 10k days whatever so if you want to work with me one-on-one just go to the link down below and book a call with me but anyway let's go ahead and actually show you how you can find a winning product on your own all right if you know me then you know that i love facebook ads library and if you don't know what this is just go to the link down below it's basically facebook showing all of its users what kind of ads are being ran on their platform because they're trying to be more transparent and we can use this to our advantage because we can use it to find competitors that are dropshipping or running their online e-commerce brands as you can see right here you want to go ahead and choose the united states and then choose all ads and this is going to be the determining factor on whether or not you find a winning product because here is where you want to go ahead and tell facebook what kind of keyword you want to search by now if you want easy keywords to go ahead and search up you can go ahead and do shop now and then all you want to do is start searching up keywords in shop now that might make sense to a certain niche if you really think about it every single product is probably in some sort of niche So for example, as you can see right here for this product, the hydrogen water bottle, it's technically in a niche. The niche here is basically people to go to the gym or people that want to be active and just basically drink water, right? So what you want to do is actually copy something here that makes sense for that niche. So for example, even for this one, you want to go ahead and just copy this refilling hydrogen bottle, right click, click duplicate, and then just search out refilling your hydrogen water. Now this is obviously going to bring up the same ad that we just saw.

but it also might go ahead and bring up other ads in the same niche. As you can see, another competitor is selling a water bottle, and now we find another keyword here. So for example, transform your hydration.

That could be a keyword. Go ahead and duplicate that. Another keyword could be boost your health. Now we're going to go ahead and go into the health niche, right?

So go ahead and just paste here. And that's how you would go ahead and hop around. Now I coined the term the rabbit hole method a while back.

I'm not sure if I'm the first one to ever do that on YouTube. But I'm going to go ahead and run with it and say this is my guide and my strategy because before my first video, I don't think anybody was talking about this guide or this method. So that's exactly what you want to do to go ahead and find your first product. Now, if you want a better time at it, go ahead and go to filters right here. Go ahead and click videos and then click active ads only.

Now, the reason why I do videos, because as you can see right here, a lot of times these image ads don't even relate to dropshipping. I'm not saying there's no one dropshipping with image ads. I'm just saying majority of the time.

videos are going to be better. So go ahead and apply that filter. And as you can see now, we started off with a water bottle and now we're at Boost Your Health.

And as you can see, all these ads are related to energy levels, boosting health, stuff like that. So that's exactly how you can use the rabbit hole guide to move you into this completely separate niche and find winning products that way. So as you can see right here, here's an ad in the Boost Your Health niche. And what you want to do, go ahead and just copy this more restful sleep.

And guess what? Now we're going to be in the sleep niche. Like that's exactly how you want to use the rabbit hole method to hop around.

and find different things and as you can see right here we have somebody selling a product that basically helps people sleep so we literally went from the water bottle niche to like the gym niche to going ahead to moving over to the health niche and now we are at the sleep niche and that's exactly what you want to do to find different keywords now obviously this strategy is a free and time consuming way because facebook has so many ads and guess what a majority of them aren't even drop shipping ads as you can see right here this is not even close to drop shipping it's more of a brand so we really can't even sell products like this But I did partner with a product research tool called AdScout for today's video. So make sure to check them in the link down below. But let's go ahead and log in. As you can see right here, it's basically very similar to Facebook Ads Library, but they do a lot of the hard work for you because there's more filters here than Facebook Ads Library.

For Facebook Ads Library, all we can do is sort by active ads and sort by videos. But over here, you can sort by other stuff like total ads. You can sort by videos. You can sort by Shopify only.

So that means we're basically getting... majority of the people that are only into e-commerce or drop shipping. So I'm going to go ahead and run through some filters.

First things first, I'm going to set the minimum total ads to eight. I'm going to set the maximum to around 200 because usually people that are drop shipping are around eight to 200 ads. The next thing you want to do is set it to the last 30 days because we don't want any ads past 30 days to have launched because we want to look for new product launches only because those are going to have the highest success rates to go ahead and launch. The next thing you want to do is choose videos and then the platforms. Probably the most important thing is to choose Shopify and go ahead and apply filters.

Now there's other filters you can definitely play around with. Go ahead and choose some niches over here and you can change the total ads to a minimum 100 if you want more established dropshipping stores or more established brands. But honestly, this is basically all I do. And as you can see right here, all these ads so far seem to be a lot better than Facebook ads library because it seems more relevant to dropshipping.

So for example, this ad over here. This is a two-in-one oil dispenser. Check this out. You can use it as a spray like those spray cans but you can fill it up and you're going to know how much oil you have or you can press the button at the top and pour your oil just like that.

If you need more oil, super super easy. They come in multiple different colors, glass bottle, no clogging. Guys if you want to get one I'm going to tag it right down below.

They sell out quickly so go snag one. There you go that was basically a dropshipping ad. Now I know for sure that this product is also on AliExpress so that's great.

but what we're basically looking for with this tool is basically really good creatives as you can see that was a decent creative not the best i've ever seen but also not the worst so i'm gonna go ahead and show you a really bad creative so basically when you're on like facebook ads library you have these creatives that don't really make sense they're not drop shipping ads like this one right here yes the one and only mike jared ceo and that's why i recommend using a tool like ad scalp to find you better creatives for drop shipping products so that's definitely one you go ahead and look at you want to click this right here And as you can see, it seems like they're doing really good with these ads. Now to go ahead and get a winning product, not only do you have to go ahead and find it, you have to validate it. You have to make sure that it is selling for somebody else before you go ahead and try to sell it. And as you can see right here, they have around 40 ads using creative and text.

That means it's very possible that this product is scaling and they are adding ads every single day because usually people that are scaling are adding ads almost every single day. So this could be a really good product as you can see they have a lot of different creatives, right? Somebody that is scaling is definitely working on their creatives and adding a lot more of it because one creative works They make different variations of the creative and so on and so forth So that was a possible winning product if you go ahead and scroll all the way down We have another product right here Do you hate the seat belt pressing against your growing belly for pregnant women? One of the biggest risks can be a simple car ride with the pregnancy safety belt It keeps me and my baby feeling so safe and comfortable okay so this creative seems pretty good so what we're looking for right now is strictly good creatives so we're looking for good creatives only and the creative is good we're gonna go ahead and validate it and make sure that they are selling well on facebook before we sell it ourselves and it seems like right here this could be a winning creative so let's go ahead and click into facebook and looking right here it doesn't seem like they're doing too hot as you can see a lot of their ads are actually inactive as you can see they only have like 10 ads so it doesn't seem like they're doing too too hot They do have a bunch of different creatives, but this is basically not convincing enough for me to go ahead and run the product All right scrolling down.

It looks like we have more ads. Let's go ahead and take a look at this one So to me personally this creative is not that good So i'm gonna go ahead and just skip over it just because it's like a more of an older way of advertising with just music and captions There's no ai voice. There's no any voice and there's no one really like recommending the product.

So We're going to skip that because like I said, we're looking for good creatives only and then we're making sure are they selling well or are they not? Let's take a look at this one. And honestly, my skin feels super soft and clean. And I also noticed that my dark marks are fading. These turmeric and kojic exfoliating packs are my little besties.

The packaging is... All right, so that's a pretty decent creative. Anytime there's a person recommending a product...

It's a pretty good creative usually. So let's go ahead and take a look at their website. As you can see, the website looks really, really good.

And that's like another thing I take a look at because usually as someone makes a good looking website, then they kind of know what they're doing when it comes to dropshipping. I'm not saying it's a direct indicator, but it's a- a good sign and then we go ahead take a look at their facebook page it seems like they have a lot of different ads and a lot of ad sets as you can see 29 usually nobody's adding all these different creatives that have 29 ad sets if they're not making money so our job is to go ahead and make a better creative than this person so we already know that this product is a winning product all you would like to do is make a better creative than the current person running it if you don't know how to do that i do have a video so make sure to check that out uh let's go ahead take a look at this during my pregnancy introducing bobsy the best maternity pillow easy to adjust for maximum comfort now this one is a really really good creative I'm assuming it's going to be a winning product but it's obviously going to be a brand as well clicking here as you can see 4,000 page like 16,000 followers I'm pretty sure that they are a brand some of their ads has a hundred and nine sets in them so pretty much this is a winning product and it seems like they were able to advertise it really well so in order to beat them and join them in selling this product you're gonna have to go ahead and make a really good creative either on par with theirs or better than theirs and the website looks really really good it looks like a real brand so as you can see right here everything looks really good so this is definitely another winning product but like i said to advertise it it's just gonna be a little bit harder scrolling down I'm going to go ahead and mute that out because they had a copyrighted song. But as you can see, that was pretty good.

And then go ahead and look at this. 4,000 page likes, 29 ads, 71, 67. It's definitely working well for them. A lot of different creatives, as you can see right here. So I would definitely go ahead and add this to a winning product list.

Having a winning product is not enough. You also need a winning creative. So make sure you make a better creative than them. And you can actually go ahead and just click save ad to go ahead and save this.

Because if you go all the way back up right here and go into save. You can go ahead and see that all your saved ads are going to be here. Obviously, I'm not going to go ahead and show all of mine, but hey, go ahead and use that for yourself. It's going down over here. Another ad that looks pretty decent.

Moms, listen up. Meet your baby's new best friend. As a mom, I know those sleepless nights. So let me introduce the Baby Haven Breathing Buddy. As you can see right here, I already saved this ad before, but this one has just started testing.

They only have two page likes, and it seems like they only have nine ad sets. Basically, I'm just keeping this on track to make sure are they doing well. So in a few days, if this number keeps increasing and their page likes keep going up, that means they're spending more on advertising and they're using more creatives and they're basically, you know, spending more on this product. That means I'm gonna go ahead and also jump in and basically try to make better creatives than them and go ahead and sell this product.

But as you can see, AdScout is just making it so much easier for you to go ahead and find winning products. There's already a bunch of winners that already went past because Facebook Ads Library shows you everything. They could be going ahead and showing you a taco truck.

They could be showing you a sports game. They could be showing you basically anything. But with AdScout, it makes it really easy for you to store everything because of the Shopify filter. And a lot of people on Shopify are also dropshipping. So yeah, that's pretty much it.

Let's go ahead and take a look at this one. You have not heard of Blue Salt. I swear it is literally the cheat code to feeling like you're wearing pajamas and looking incredibly put together.

The pieces that... All right. I mean, go ahead and take a look at this one. We're not going to run this because look, they have 22,000 page likes, 400K followers. And yeah, we're just not going to run it.

It's like a really big, big brand. So we're not going to go ahead and run that. We have another product over here.

Every child's words matter and I don't want my kids to interfere with our communication. When I was trying to get my son to speak, I was... Alright, that's a pretty good creative so far.

Let's take a look at their website to make sure it looks pretty decent. And their website looks really, really good. So they probably know what they're doing and they're definitely dropshipping because I have seen this product on AliExpress before. So that could possibly be a winning product as long as you make better creatives than the competitor.

The website looks really, really good. I'm assuming this one's going to be a brand because it's actually like really, really good. So let's go ahead and take a look at it just to make sure.

And yeah, 27,000 likes, 29K followers. It is a brand. Now it doesn't mean that you can't go ahead and advertise it because this product is actually on AliExpress but to make better creators than a brand is gonna be really really hard and we're trying to find those guys that just started and just launched ads and you know you can make a better creative than the person because you already have the aspect of a winning product.

You sleep with the Bella magnetic eyelashes. I mean you sleep with the... So this one right here is actually a really really big TikTok winner. You sleep with the Bella magnetic eyelashes. I mean you could but that kind of defeats the purpose of having these.

See the beauty of these... And the creative is really good. So let's go ahead and take a look at their website. This is another potential winner. And their website is kind of decent.

It's not the best, but it's also not the worst I've ever seen. It looks okay. Let's take a look at this last one right here.

i gotcha so this is basically the same product as the one we've seen before but another advertiser is running it their website looks really really good and it seems like their ads are pretty decent as well so i am going to go ahead and save this one as well save this one but looking at their facebook page look how many ad says there are 18 17 look how many different creatives there are right like they're testing a lot of different things here no one is going to do this much effort if the product is not at least freaking even for them right so your job find a winning product make it better creative and then go ahead and advertise it that's pretty much it but yeah it's pretty much it if you guys are interested in the software that i used today it's called adscalp go to the link down below if not this free method is still using facebook ads library and then go ahead and using keywords to search your products and it's a lot harder because it is free and more time consuming but it definitely still works but if you want an easier way of doing it go ahead and check out ask out with the link down below and i'll see you guys next time peace out
