one of the things I love about civilization 7 is how much you can customize it whether it's your leader or the civilization that you're playing or the momentos that you can take into game with you and that's what this video will be about it will be about momentos because there are some really good momentos and there are some really bad momentos in this video it's going to be two parts the first part we're going to be talking about my favorite momentos and then the second part we're just going to be going through every single momento and just talking about whether they're good bad all that stuff in between we're not going to put them on a te listz there's just too many of them and to be honest well yeah it's uh that I wouldn't enjoy doing that you probably wouldn't enjoy watching it so let's talk a little bit about first and foremost the number one momento at the moment in my opinion by far uh we're using it in this game now I've just used a couple of cheats to get to this game I often use this cool little tool called cheat panel it's great if you want to do any kind of testing and that's how I test whether things are broken or not and I can actually tell you right now this momento is actually broken like not like oh it's broken no like actually broken so it's called Corona pacif it's level two Augustus uh unlock so if we take a look right here and take a look at Augustus level two so anyone can get it and you can get it pretty easily one settlement limit per age but 50% convert to City cost so that's uh that's that's a big deal right cuz you want to convert to cities but you don't want to be paying more for it well good news is you don't actually pay more for it you get the settlement limit per age but you don't actually have to pay extra gold to convert it to city now even if you did one of the things that happens when you do convert to a city so if we give ourselves a whole bunch of gold is you reach a cap so here as an example we are at 600 gold and we just go ahead and convert that and now we're at 900 gold for this one and this one's at 1,000 and the thing is that even though that's at 1,000 right now it's just going to cap there so even if that 50% did exist it wouldn't be a huge deal cuz we do reach that cap pretty quickly the other thing to note is that you know once the once a uh a town has actually got quite a bit of population in it this number will start to drop so if we go and take a look at that we've just given ourselves a whole bunch of population and now it's started to drop but you can see it's still only at 950 after having 13 population now of course there's going to be extrapolations and and and whatnot that we can do down the track but the re I think that the reality is even if this this uh momento wasn't broken it would still be very good cuz it works out to you paying about 500 gold for an extra settlement and that might not seem like a big deal but you got to remember right like let's say this is our fifth settlement okay that that we managed to get we'll just give it uh 1 2 3 four extra population okay so now what we we'll do is we'll just give ourselves some pop over here sorry just give me a sec here this one and okay now we've got this one so if we were to grab this here now all of a sudden this town is now making us 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 gold per turn and if it's going to take us 500 gold to justify this town then all of a sudden it pays itself off pretty damn quickly in about 60 turns it's paid itself off not only that it's contributing happiness uh it's also contributing any resources that it's got this is an incredible momento and I think it's definitely one of the best in the game but let's talk about some other momentos right now that are really really good I've got a whole list that I prepared a little bit earlier uh that we're going to go through uh we're going to be starting with just like the the most basic favorite ones that I've got uh and then from there we'll be working into like the more difficult ones or the more the more uh Niche ones and then we'll be talking about uh all of them so let's start off uh with a fan favorite this one is groma together with a shoker level five now this is a Sher World renouncer he's level five so gain 100 food in the capital when you spend an attribute point on the expansionist attribute tree so you take the first expansionist point spend it in the tree as soon as you put your Capital down and you immediately grow the first turn the second turn the third turn and it basically means you can get a settler out straight away this is a crazy strong combination but it's one of those things where it's like it's people understand it cuz it works well at the very beginning and it is very strong but there are other things so let's talk about another combination so it was a combination I was just using in the last game and I think this is probably going to become a really good combination so Corona civa together with aoker World Conqueror his level five which is silk utara so let's take a look at what these two do so the one settlement limit per age 50% convert to City cost so you can have more settlements and then plus two production per age in cities with positive happiness because you've got a higher settlement limit it now means that you can afford to get an extra Town out there and you don't go into unhappiness and because of that when you do convert over your cities it's going to be an extra two production now you might look at that and not think it's a big deal but remember early production is very important and it means you go from 5 up to 7 production on top of that your early cities that start coming online now come online sooner over the course of a game that I played recently I got more than 800 production in the age of antiquity just out of these two momentos and I hear you guys you're saying well hold on a minute you've talked about Antiquity a lot how about exploration all right let's get to exploration cuz I think there is some really good ones here so let's go ahead and we'll get rid of these two so for Age of Exploration or EXP ation age I love Eagle banner I think this is really good because when it comes to Antiquity it can take some time to actually get some great works online and 20% science is good in Antiquity but it's much better in exploration in Exploration you really want to be going through the science tree as quickly as you can you want to be working your way up to ship building and the good news is you can get there very quickly if you pair this with a religion focused opening uh and it allows you to get up to like there have been games where I've just hit 20 great works on display very very quickly and away that's 20% science beautiful uh and you know if you've got if you got someone like adaah that you're playing where you get cities two plus two science per age you can really start to stack that up over the course of an era uh so if you were going to play that you could play it into something like Shon seal that way you're complimenting you get that gold and that culture as well on unique buildings and improvements that can also be a really nice combination now another combo that we're going to talk about here it's not so much a momento combo it's more a leader combination with a momento and that is just the Treaty of cadesh this is an incredible L powerful momento because it gives you a one diplomatic attribute point and what we're actually looking for is a diplomatic leader and this is because you get narrative events based on your type of leader so as an example aminao would get economic and militaristic narrative events whereas Jose Rosal would get cultural and diplomatic events and this happens for every single diplomatic leader so if you were to go and find iben batuna uh he is an expansionist wild card so he's a little bit different but if we take a look here at Maria Val diplomatic and economic uh now I will just say that from my test I I've played with treat of cadesh and I've gone to get what I thought was going to happen so essentially what happens just to go into a game and just quickly show you through so I'm just I'm just going to mute Civ uh so what happens with the Treaty of cadesh is you grab the early diplomatic Point you're going to put that into your Diplo tree so let's just plant ourselves down right here you're going to put that into your Diplo tree you're going to grab one influence per per age on the palace which is lovely because it basically means that you start with 11 instead of 10 it's a small little detail but what you're really looking to do is get an early s so if we reveal our map right now and we explore all and we hit our next turn button and we take a look okay there's a couple of city states over here that we can s so we'll go ahead and S this one we don't have any influence or let me get our sound back on uh so we'll go ahead and grab ourselves a little bit of influence here and we'll just befriend these guys it might take a little a few turns but what's going to happen is when when we become their suarin that's going to give us a Diplo Point uh as well that we're then going to be able to put actually just give me a sec I don't think are we a diplomatic leader I don't even think we're a diplomatic leader okay if you're a diplomatic it should give it to you we're going to do a little bit of testing right here so now that we've got the suarin status we can take the gemstones and then that normally if we're a diplomatic leader will give us another point and then that point we can then put into this one right here and what that's going to do is that we you know what we we can emulate being a diplomatic leader right now we'll give a give ourselves a wild card point and we'll go ahead and we will put that into here 50% influence towards initiating and now what that means is instead of paying 188 to befriend these guys we're only paying 114 and if you can find a city state that's friendly it's only going to take you 15 turns and compare that to a city state that is not friendly like this one it's going to take you 30 turns which means you you want to try and befriend the the friendly one and then that's going to allow you to just utilize that first uh boost straight through uh that that first friendship that you've got and then reduce the cost on all your subsequent friendships now you can also combo this even further we've done videos on it before with ibben patuda he has a great combination that you can utilize and there's different ways that you can play it some people like to play a a a uh well not even a treaty of Kadesh open with iban patuda Ian bauda will prefer to do something like Globus cruser uh which is where you get 50 influence when you spend an attribute point on the Diplomatic attribute tree cuz he gets the two wild card points you can also pair that with something like I'm trying to have a look for it I can't see it you can do B focals ah here she shisa necklace so 100 influence when you become suant of a city state but these are more Niche ones not really that General and I want to focus on things that are more General uh for today's video so we've talked about uh the Treaty of kadashian the Diplo leader now let's talk about something that's new that's come out so this is aah aah has got a specific uh momento that you can unlock at level 9 called note G I'm still in two minds about this I don't know whether it's good I don't know whether it's bad cuz I'm Cur and I'm curious what your thoughts are about this but for me I feel like this probably comes online at around exploration age because realistically this doesn't do a lot if you were to compare this to something like Ura or UTA I can't remember how it's pronounced the production feels a little bit slow and I don't know how I feel about it so I'm just going to I'm going to leave that one out I I wanted to mention that specifically because there can be things that we're certain on and then there can be things that we're need a little bit more information on and that's definitely one of those things now something that we don't need more information on is this bad boy right here golden seal Stone this is queen himo queen of w her level two so if we go take a look at hamoo uh that is the wrong no that is the right one uh so right here queen of War level two plus one influence per age on science buildings dude this goes so incredibly hard it it Stacks up amazingly you just you don't even believe how fast it comes online it's crazy cuz typically you're going to be maybe putting the library down at turn 30 or something like that and once you get to like turn 60 it's three influence but where it really shines exploration if you go for a uh a a uh excuse me a scientific Golden Age it can really combo well because you start off with like eight golden agey sorry maybe like six or five depend depending on how many cities you've got uh and then of course as you add more science buildings that's going to be pumping so I really do rate golden seal Stone quite a lot uh for the explor exploration age I do also want to do a little bit of testing with it in Antiquity but I don't think you really need it but you could see some pretty crazy numbers from it uh now one thing that I wish we could talk about but we probably don't really need to it is the level 9 from Catherine uh if we can find it it got nerfed it used to be aming Catherine level 9 anybody it's it's up here great Imperial Crown so plus two science per AG in towns in tundra look I I don't think yeah it might have some good early Tempo but I don't think it's anywhere near as good as what it used to be and this actually used to be really good so the way it used to work was it would give you one science per age in tundra like any any Tundra per TI or any Tundra tile you've got it would just give you a science and it was crazy it was so good for exploration I I remember there were games where I wouldn't take it at the start but you spawn in tundra and then you go into exploration you just be like plus 60 science cuz you've got all of these tiles on in the tundra so that's another one uh but let's talk about a level 9 momento this one is from H uh so H not queen of w himiko High Shaman and this one is definitely on the more powerful side so plus three culture per age on happiness buildings but minus one science per age on happiness buildings so a happiness building is a specific label like you get production buildings you get food buildings a happiness build building is a villa it's an arena it's an altar but there's also unique buildings that are happiness buildings so if we go take a look at the civilizations as an example and we go take a look at let's have a look at at here the Galo uh so this is a May unique happiness building so that means that it is going to get that minus one science but plus three culture and that could be huge that's a huge thing to help balance you out cuz I think generally when you playing C7 there are specific strategies that you can go for if you want to go for a culture heavy strategy then maybe play some something like the Han and pair that with hamoo uh the uh the culture focused himo the high Shaman but I think what's more important is balancing that out you don't want to be weak on on one specific side uh at the cost of being strong at another I think you can be strong in one area as long as you're not weak in the others and it's it's best to try and balance production together with science and culture and this that is what this uh this momento does so let's go ahead we'll click on it right here so that's what this momento does so I think if you're going to use this momento it is really good to pair it up with the just because the Mayes are always going to have an excess of Science and I say that in With all sincerity I feel like you have excessive science I I am not racing to get to Future Tech all I'm racing to is to get to my key timings uh for technology so mainly looking to unlocky that's a big one uh because you're going to unlock the Pyramid of the Sun or the Temple of the sun I can never remember which which way it is called uh but uh yeah that's definitely one of my favorite momentos so now let's talk about my final favorite momento I'm sure there's probably a few more in here that I just didn't uh I I I forgot about but we'll get we'll get to it uh so it is this one right here wamp and belt this is level 5 unlocked uh through our boy tum uh and so tum at level five will give you plus one production on all of your settlements per age for every city state you're a suan of and it means that as an example with Tuma so if we take a look at him he is a militaristic diplomatic leader which means after his first su he will get a Diplo point which reduces the cost down so you could pair him up with grease as an example sorry to we're going to mute you you could pair him up as grease and reduce the cost of your s or your your befriending city states that way or you could get that extra point uh that allows you to do that and take it with wamp and belt so you could go for Treaty of Kadesh and wamp and belt and what that's going to mean is that your first Su you pay full price for it and then after that first Su your if it's a friendly city state it's only going to take you 15 turns to do it and then it's reduced and then you can just go City just s the ENT map and it's plus one production per age in settlements for each city state you're a suant of so if if you've got let's say six settlements that's plus six production and that might be you know three gold three production but it's for each city state so now if you've got five city states that's five production in the capital five production in the first city five five production in the second and then you've got 15 gold coming through and obviously that scales whether you've got more cities and it also scales if you got more city states it works perfectly and I think this is a very good uh momento but in in saying that I will also just caveat with it is a little bit inconsistent there's no guarantee you're going to get five city states there's no guarantee that you're going to be able to find uh all of them before the the uh the other leaders manage to Su them or they take them out or maybe you you start suing them and then one turn before they're about to do it before they're about to become your Su they get taken out I don't I've had that problem before so those are my favorite momentos so that's the that's the first part of the video done let's go through we're just going to go through and discuss pretty much every momento and now just talk about the viability of them not so much what they could do to make them better but just like whether or not it's viable okay let's get to it so the first ones are all like just attribute points right so military attribute Point diplomatic attribute Point cultural attribute Point scientific these are all really basic and when it comes to multiplayer there's there's primarily like three ways that people are playing at the moment the first one is that they're just saying no MOS the second one is that they're saying you can pick like one of these or two of two of any of these momentos right like you could go gromma and you could go Trea of Kad something like that and the third way is that they're going okay you can pick any momento but you can't pick this combo and normally that combo is like gromer and gold and sa sappire flowers cuz it's very strong there's a couple of other combos that they they ban but that's typically it so these are all quite strong out of the gate and the reason why that is is because they get you further down the tree so if we think about the Diplomatic or the uh attribute trees you're starting off at the top but you as you get down further you're getting to Stronger positions so the sooner you can get to the bottom as an example the Diplo like Diplo tree is by far the best in my opinion uh because it gives you plus 3% per Alliance on every single yield repeating so you could get like plus 18% and if you got three alliances that's Plus 54% on every yield in your Empire it's a little bit silly uh but yeah so that that's part of the reason why these are very good they also obviously provide great bonuses like the plus one cultural attribute Point that's plus one culture to all your settlements plus one scientific attribute point from the very beginning of the game plus one science to all your settlements and if you've got four settlements plus four science when are you going to be getting your your first Library like realistically it's going to take some time it's going to take some time uh so that that is essentially it uh next up we've got lyan Line This is an incredible uh absolutely incredible I think mainly because it doesn't scale with speed so very good for online multiplayer not so good for standard uh but but still quite strong it gives you a lot of tempo from the early stages of the game but I wouldn't recommend it uh I think that there is probably I I would say that there are better long-term momentos that scale well but also give you a lot of power in the early game uh so we've also got Corpus civilus very strong for uh in the exploration age just mainly because when you complete a Antiquity age what's going to happen is you've got all of these amazing Legacy or Traditions that have carried over but you don't have a lot of slots to put them in so you can take Corpus jurus civilus and that's going to allow you to to put these in cuz keep in mind you can actually change your momentos over in the exploration age I don't think many people realize that I know it took me a couple games to realize but like right before you're picking your civilization down in the bottom left hand corner there's a little thing that says change momentos and I I tell you what it should be right in the smack bang in the middle uh but it's not next up we've got The Travelers of Marco Polo uh this this one obviously pairs very well with uh where is it it's somewhere down here I I know you're hiding somewhere the uh the extra line of sight that's that's the one that I'm looking for so we've uh here we go plus one sight for no that's not it uh it was the plus three there we go IMO Mundi plus two sight instead of plus one uh for search for Scout and look search Lookout abilities so I think it used to be plus three and uh it's uh it was a very nice combo CU you'd basically discover everything and then you get paid for discovering everything so that was a a very fun combination that you could do I I don't think it's as powerful now it's still very good and it's consistent because you're always going to be exploring and you're always going to be uncovering gold and it rewards you for playing into Scouts in the early game which is great because they Scouts are such a strong unit because if you've got a little bit of space Scouts are always going to pay themselves off because if a scout basically finds one hot you've paid your s off uh so I'm a big fan of this I I think it makes a lot of sense because this also unlocks quite early on in our foundation I think it comes in your foundation quite early on uh there we go ly and lion there we go so level 9 on the foundation it is very very early uh next up we've got a quest and figure 50% reduction in Commander recovery time so basically if your commander gets sniped it's going to reduce how long it takes or it it's it's a plus 50% reduction so I don't know if this is- 33% I'm going to assume that it is I would just say try not to get your commander sniped and not and don't worry about this one I can't ever see a time where I'd want to do this it doesn't like ju just try and keep the commander a bit safer that that would be my recommendation it yeah it's it's not that good uh then we've got P poeta poach poacha PKA let's go with PKA backpack plus five range for all trade routes I actually like this I think this is quite good mainly because there are some strategies that you might want to do with like Xerxes as an example where uh you are limited by trade range I don't know how trade range works I've got absolutely no idea some games I feel like I've got it mastered some games I'm just like this I I how come I can reach here but not here it just doesn't make sense but what this does is this guarantees that you're going to be able to reach more places that is a matter of fact I will just say now it might be bugged I don't know I haven't tested it but I'm just letting you know this is civ7 we got a few bugs to fix here this could be one of them I'm not saying I've seen that it's bugged I'm just saying it could be next up we've got shisha neck or shisha necklace not to be confused with shisha necklace which I'm sure lot of people would get very excited about uh gain 100 influence when you become Su of a city state really good incredibly good strong Niche usage specifically for the Greeks it is very good just because the Greeks can reduce the cost of their we can't actually see it here but I I assure you there is a very strong uh tradition that they've got which allows them to reduce the cost of suering suering city states so that is a very powerful uh momento really strong uh great on ibben bauda not too good on anybody else but iban bauda in particular is very good cuz you could get a a nice early roll uh other than that yeah I mean you you could try it with like a Diplo leader you could probably pair it up with uh with TR of cadesh and shisha shisa necklace and you could probably get something going with that I can see that I can see that working all right let's let's have a look at what we've got next Garuda statue not a fan of this one I've tried this one before plus one population to your smaller settlement every time you start a celebration so typically when you celebrate you're going to be celebrating maybe like if you're super celebrating like a crazy man like a shoker is you're looking at 10 to 12 growth uh or 10 to 12 celebrations in a playr and it's always the smaller settlement and the smaller settlement is always the one that's going to grow the fastest now there's going to be a point where you stop putting down cities and the smaller settlement is going to start growing and that means that every time the smaller settlement grows it's actually quite a large settlement that's growing so it can be good uh however I would just say that I I think the cat's still out of the bag on this one is is that the right term it could be the right term yeah I I'm I'm not a fan I I think that typically you're not going to see a whole lot of of use it's going to take a long time for this to start scaling and to be honest I don't really value population a whole much at the moment uh with it's not so much population it's more food so I look this this one could be okay I'll say that much I I we still need to test this one royal game of euru 10% science when outpaced in Tech by at least half of the other leaders and 10% culture whenever being outpaced in Civics by at least another or the other half of leaders this is quite good I I like this a lot the only trouble is it it's half the leader so if if you've got a Lobby so let let's say that you go into a Lobby and you've got a whole bunch of leaders that are cultural oh my Lord where do we go uh let's say hold on give me a sec okay there we go you got to be so careful uh so let's say you go into a Lobby and it's like aah and Catherine okay both cultural both science the your leaders are always going to be outpacing you at least in the early game so you're going to be this you'll get really good value from this but if you have like a Mina together with a shoker World Conqueror neither of these two leaders are getting either of those bonuses they're militaristic diplomatic economic militaristic compared to cultural scientific cultural scientific so there is definitely a little bit of variance in how much value you're going to be able to get out of this it's very much a comparison to other leaders rather than to yourself so if it was like just a flat 10% science or culture it would be absolutely broken but yeah I I think that there's definitely room for this to be good I think it would only ever be good in Antiquity the trouble is 10% it seems like a lot it feels like a lot but when you think about it in Antiquity yeah I mean going from like 20 to 22 is decent going from 10 to 11 is decent it could it could be good it could be good we we'll have to this one's probably going to require some testing then we got takoba plus one combat strength for all units in Plains and deserts uh you'd only ever take this on Amina uh and uh that is because she gets bonuses in the plains and deserts uh and even then you probably wouldn't take it cuz there's going to be something more beneficial than one combat strength it's just yeah it it's it's nice because it's basically free war support that you're getting and keep in mind any free war support that you get is your most expensive War support so it could be good in that regard but she already gets a bonus of plus five so it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to be taking this and like doubling down even more it's not even doubling down it's like you know it's only plus one it's not a huge deal anyway I I don't think it's very viable next up we got plus one gold per age for each resource assigned to the cities once again this is something that's going to scale with time probably might start off as like 2 or three but keep in mind it's only cities so it doesn't count for towns uh and it's going to also scale depending on how many camels you've got so I I think this is one of those things that it's just it it probably it's a little bit underwhelming best case scenario at the end of antiquity you might have 20 at the end at the end of exploration you might have 40 it's it's not that much gold we're we're we're making like what 2K gold by the end of exploration it's probably not that much not that good next up we've got chakra uh plus one food in the capital for every five excess happiness now that's every excess five happiness in the capital that's not that little number that you see at the top do not be forgiven or do not be uh don't worry it's not that number at the top okay I thought it was the same thing until I tested it I'm like wait a minute it's the it's h excess happiness in the capital there I don't like this it's food it's excess happiness that's only in the capital it feels like it could be good and then you you play it in the game and you're like oh hold on a minute I'm getting plus three food every turn like this it's only three food and I'm going to grow in 46 turns it's nah it's that's that's not it's going to it's like 5,000 food for the my ex citizen it's just not worth it it's just not worth it at least I Amo uh golden Sapphire flowers we've already talked about it amazing one of the best keep it up Diamond Throne we've I've tested this out quite a bit and I think with the city matter this actually scales quite well because it means the more quarters that you've got uh the more happiness you're going to be having and keep in mind that when you are in a celebration so plus one happiness per age on quarter is during a celebration when you're in a celebration you're still contributing happiness to your next celebration so there's nothing that stops you from going celebration and then ending and then immediately starting a next a new celebration happens all the time uh so this is just going to allow that to continue and basically means you've just got plus one happiness per age on quarters uh all the time if you can get to that point so I can see this working but the thing is for for leaders that I can see this working on like Charlamagne or Jose Rosal they already get they already get 100% celebration up time so I don't see why I need this right it's just like I'm even more happy there's no point in being happy like once you got the rolling celebrations you don't need to be more happy doesn't really make a lot of sense Corona civa talked about this amazing uh start using it it's bugged it's broken even if it was working it would still be incredible so I'm just going to put that out there right now probably one of the best momentos in the game expect it to get nerfed probably I think they're probably going to have to change the whole way City cost works at the moment cuz it feels way too good to be having Cities next up we've got breastplate I've tried this one out quite a bit it's two food per age in towns definitely gets them off the ground quite a bit faster the only trouble is it falls off very quickly quickly and the reality is you're going to be reaching like five six pop in your towns or not five six but four five pop in in your towns relatively quickly the plus two food doesn't really help you get there unless it's like a town that is very specifically in the tundra that's got no food other than the the food that it starts with then then maybe it makes sense but it's it's variable it could work with somebody like Catherine but even then you've probably got better momentos that you could take so I wouldn't I wouldn't dabble with the breast plate uh next up we've got cipius virtus Works basically for only one lader or two civilizations plus one production in the cap for every town so that is going to be Augustus one leader he gets bonuses towards towns and the two civilizations you already know what they are they're Carthage which get a only a single City and they are Rome which of course can definitely play around this they've got a lot of bonuses uh in their Traditions that give them extra extra power towards having the uh the single City setup so o overall look it's niche I'm not a fan I think that there's probably better things that you could be taking but uh yeah makes makes a lot of sense perhaps if you're playing augustas next up we got B focals I I I'm a big fan of this I think this is great it's powerful early it's consistent late the only thing is 50 influence might seem like a lot but once you start playing around influence and really working out how to get it going it's not that much I mean it's it's still good though that's that's what you got to that's what we got to walk away with I think there's a lot of situations where you could 100% go for B both by go for B focals I think the other thing to note is that that as a comparison to something like shisa necklace whereas this is dependent on you getting city states this is not this is guaranteed influence that you're going to get that you can always rely on because you might not want to or you might not be in a position to be able to sue city states all the time you might not be playing Greece you might not be playing as iban patuda so you might not be able to get this guaranteed and because of that b focals make a lot of sense uh this actually used to be banned in uh in a lot of multiplayer games because it was too strong but I think they've come around now it's not that strong next up we've got kite and King plus 10% science towards researching Tech masteries very very Niche specific uh not particularly fan there's there's not a lot of tech masteries and keep in mind Tech masteries are cheaper than their actual techs so yeah not a huge fan of this this would probably work out to be like a 4% boost not maybe not 4% yeah probably like a 4% boost to science over the course of a game uh and uh yeah not not a fan next up we've got glass armonica which gives you 10% science and happiness so keep in mind this was 10% science towards Tech masteries this is 10% science and happiness when in an alliance for you and your Ally and guess what it scales or rather it Stacks so that means if you've got five allies you're getting 50% science and 50% happiness this one's amazing I think this one is probably best suited for leaders and it kind of doesn't really make sense here but like if we look at himo right she can she has a lot of friends she wants to have a lot of friends everything that you do should be about getting more friends and because of that you're going to form alliances so when you form alliances now you're going to get more science and it's like well hold on a minute I've got plus four science for being your friend and then I've got 10% science for now being in your alliance and because we're in Alliance we can now get 25 there's too much science there's just too much science you don't need this much Science Focus on something else right like and that's the hard part about jamoo now the same thing could be send said for someone like Benjamin Franklin who can send two agreements and then therefore he can have two more or build more relationships with people but then once again it's we've already got so much science he's a scientific leader he's getting all those points in science it's it's like you know it to me it makes sense to do this in a an exploration age that you've been very friendly with people you go into the exploration age already starting off on Good Feet with or on a good foot with the other leaders and you just send them a couple deals and all of a sudden they want to form an alliance with you and boom there you go you're in two or three alliances and now you're getting 30% science 30% happiness absolutely massive pair it with something like Eagle banner and you're talking like 50% science like it's it's it's a huge boost so yeah definitely a big fan of this one great Imperial Crown it was good before the Nerf not So Much Anymore still I'm not a fan cuz it's towns as well if it was settlements in tundra then maybe I could get behind it but the fact that it's towns in tundra yeah that that that that is the part that that kills it for me uh next up we've got plus one movement for commanders could actually be pretty good but I don't think so like you you want movement on your commanders but not at the cost of other things if you were just going to get a free movement on Commander you'd be like that's great but if you have to pay something for it and you're losing something else because of it yeah not a fan Eagle bner we've already talked about we love it we think it's great especially in Exploration next up we've got Joi uh which is plus two happiness for every Cavalry unit Happiness by the slice uh this is a bit of a strange one cuz once again it's happiness that is that top level happiness the the global happiness that you see up here uh that's happening I don't believe this is for the cities that you've got and because of that it's only going to be contributing towards celebrations of course if you've got a lot of h a lot of C then you're getting a lot of happy so there's definitely some circumstances where I could see this working I haven't it so I don't know the exact numbers I'm sure there's people who like it but for me uh I I think it's one of those things where Charlamagne typically should be looking to like if we take a look at the bonuses that Charlamagne gets uh he's already getting bonuses to his happiness adjacencies in militaries military and science buildings it's incredible just how much bonus or how much happiness this is going to be giving I don't know if you really need to stack this up on top of it right like you're already getting so much happiness from it it'd be like putting Diamond throne in there as well we're already as happy as we can be why do we need to be even happier we're at 100% our Baseline is 100% happiness uh next up we've got Globus cruser uh we've already talked about this one this one is as well quite strong compare this up with uh with treat of Kadesh next we've got tender plus one movement for Cavalry units I think this is actually quite decent there's a lot of uh strength in Cavalry units especially once you get to exploration they are quite good it can be particularly good on civilizations that have got Cav that have got lower movement you know who I'm talking about right here so as as an example the Kamai get access to a c unit that is slow movement but higher combat strength so to get some of that movement back you could take this here it would make a lot of sense to do that going into sender uh on top of that the other thing to consider is that Cav already have quite a bit of movement so adding plus one movement isn't really going to change too much for them like there's not going to be circumstances where all of a sudden you're able to do something that you couldn't previously do there are going to be those circumstances it's just going to be not as often as say something like uh born hat which is plus one movement for infantry units where you're getting you know an extra it's up 50% whereas this is only 33% all right next up we've got brush and scroll this used to be amazing it's absolutely terrible after they nerfed growth rate so growth rate in cities did get nerfed because of a video that we did and um unfortunately it's not good anymore so don't bother with this one uh next up we've got alter set plus one culture from specialist I think and just keep in mind you've kind of got like two different Mets that form the first one was definitely around a a growth a high growth emphasis which is where you'd go for like baths and Town you'd go for the growth uh the growth Pantheon uh you could pick up brush and scroll it would massively reduce the cost of your citizens and it would mean that you could justify having a lot of Specialists but the the truth is specialists at the moment they are not particularly strong when there's a lot of them they are particularly strong when there is a good specialist adjacency so if you've got a plus six uh library that you can throw a specialist on that's amazing but you don't just want to be throwing down Specialists willy-nilly on any single tile so it's not plus one culture from specialist means like maybe plus eight Culture by the end of antiquity it it this could be decent in imper in Imperial sorry excuse me this could be decent in uh in modern but even then there's going to be better stuff that you can take in modern than just plus one culture from specialist this actually got nerfed from plus one culture and plus one gold uh which was a lot more decent especially considering the specialist meta that we were in but uh yeah at the moment kind of useless plus one science per age on Military buildings not really a fan it it takes a while to get your first military building um and uh yeah by the time that you get it your science is already starting to kick so not not a not a huge bonus next up we've got order of the Black Eagle badge which is gain 50 production when you spend an attribute point on the militaristic attribute tree highest order of chivalry now there is definitely a world where this could actually work so there are these whole I've seen a whole bunch of people talking about it so basically like you've got the food Bloom uh which is where you take gromma together with golden Sapphire flowers you've got the science one which is where you take the mechanism together with there's a a science where you get basically like 50 science here this one daku so the science Bloom and then you've got this one which is like the military Bloom which is where you take order of the Black Eagle badge and then you take the military attribute point and basically you start off the game and instead of going into mysticism you would start off by going into discipline you get your uh your general or your commander as quickly as you can and basically you start off you put the point into it you get 50 production and you immediately just get like let's say two hop lights three hopl four hop lights whatever it is you just start printing out hop lights like a madman and now you go and take out city states and when you take out a city state all of a sudden you're getting another military attribute point and then you're going to roll that further down the tech tree and or rather down the Civic tree and then you're going to look to pick up some of those world wonders that provide military attribute points uh and then that way you can kind of build that up and then you can roll that into maybe the first kill on an AI so there's definitely a world where I think this can 100% work it's not really my play style though so I'll just say that much so I haven't explored it a whole bunch but I definitely think if if if there was a leader that you were going to play it with you'd want to do a high Tempo early game aggressive leader uh that that you would look to go to war with people very early uh you could do like a Sher World Conqueror because he gets the 10 combat strength against uh districts and he gets the celebration uh for declaring a former War so that could be really nice to work with him uh alternatively you could look for Mario Val gets quite a bit of gold that you can use you could leverage the citystate bonuses or you could just go for like the good old classic Xerxes any anything that's got that sort of really early game uh Tempo uh attacking people because like if if you think about like Charlamagne he's going to take a little bit of time before he's able to hit you with Cav I guess aminaa could be quite good as well she could actually be really brutal with something like this especially if you got someone else that spawns in Plains and desert and there's probably going to be at least one of them so uh yeah you could definitely you could you could do some work I'm going to be honest I think amina's hiding a bit of power she she I think her power level is probably over 9,000 we'll say that much okay next up we have got plus two combat strength for all units when using a coordinated attack or Focus fire very specific and typically you don't want to be doing these mainly because when you do a focus fire or a coordinated attack you're actually only gaining experience for a single attack so if you've got six units and you tell them all to focus fire on one specific unit or however many it is what's going to happen is that you're only going to get experience from that one specific action whereas if you were to do that all individually then you're getting experience from each of those actions so it's one of those things where it's like the buttons on the on the commander are really cool and work if you're looking to play the game less optimally so as an example like you know the the the button that packs up all of the the military the trouble is when you do that it uses up a point of movement so you're actually losing something by doing that if you just put them all in individually you don't lose any movement off the off the commander so it's like it it's these little things that I think they need to fix up they've probably done it just so that you can't really abuse it but it's it's one of those things where I I'm I I don't really value this I think even if they did fix that plus two combat strength for all units when using coordinated attack or Focus fire this could be good this could actually be quite good that that's a decent amount and that's a bonus that you can guarantee that You' be getting quite a lot so I I can 100% 100% see that working uh if they fix that up next up plus three combat strength to your units below 50% Health this is another one where it's like this is quite good and you can 100% play around this with and that's the good thing about having the Army Commander is the Army Commander you can very easily Evac a unit out so I think plus three combat strength to your units below 50% is actually quite good because it could be the difference between like taking an enemy unit out and not taking the enemy unit out and then you can evacuate so there's probably going to be circumstances where that makes a lot of sense but once again it's it's a war like would you rather take sidearm for your getting three combat strength for your units below 50% which is reliable you can get it or would you rather take Corona civa which means an extra settlement uh it means you know I I just feel like this is so good but that maybe that's just because I'm just a Sim City brained player uh plus one gold per AG on for each imported resource it's going to take a long time to get these going typically you might reach 25 30 depends on how many players are in the game uh but it's going to be very late in the age and I mean typically at the end of antiquity I'm rocking about 300 anywhere between 300 and 500 gold a turn it's not a huge amount of gold that is uh really going to be coming through plus two culture on wonders I'm still in two World about this one because it's one of those things right like if you're going for wonders you're already very much focused around culture okay so like if we if we talk about her CHS at Egypt she needs to be making a lot of culture from the GetGo and having wonders like the sooner she gets her wonders it's it's hard to know my my fear is that with something like this it's just going to come online too late like at the point where you're getting your fourth or your fifth wonder how much culture do you really have you know what it's we're probably going to need a bit of testing on this one because look two culture is is already that's that's a decent amount of culture I'm just fearful that it might come online too late but this is you know there's a world where we could try this I can see it working we've also got Urus which is plus 10% plus 10% in culture sorry plus 10% culture in cities with at least one wonder which is another good one so you could combine both of these if you're playing Herer and wanting to try and get all of the world wonders and now all of a sudden you've got more culture because you built the first Wonder 10% and then you're getting 10% on the two culture as well so it's like 2.2 culture for each wonder and then that's obviously stacking with any monuments that you've got or natural wonders that you've got that's going to allow you to push further through the the Civic tree and unlock new wonders that you can build and the sooner you unlock them the sooner you build them the sooner you secure them the more culture that you get it just it's like a positive feedback loop just keeps going okay next up we've got one that we already talked about golden seal Stone I love it I think this is great uh you're typically going to be going for science buildings pretty early on and plus one influence is very good like if we talk about plus one science this is okay the trouble is like by the time you get to Antiquity you should have at least 200 science like the recent games I've been playing I'm getting almost 00 science at the end of antiquity so this doesn't really change much this is like plus 20 science but if you look at influence per age on science buildings this is like this is massive man this is you're going from basically like like 20 to 30 influence per turn up to potentially 50 influence per turn this is crazy strong so I'm I'm a big fan of that uh next we've got plus two science per age for every how many more have we got we got quite a bit oh my Lord we got quite a bit this is going to be a much longer video than I thought oh my I was like yeah this will this will be quick one this is not going to be a quick one is it okay let's go quick plus two science per age for every Tech Mastery completed I think this could be good I think this could be good specifically uh with Catherine so if you grab this cuz Catherine gets her bonuses like extra culture for her uh great works and typically your great works are going to be unlocked when you've got your uh masteries being completed so I can see that having quite some decent Synergy for that the only thing is it's going to take a while to come online and it's not it's a flat bonus and it's only once compare that to like aah who getting plus two science per age per City and it's like that's a massive bonus and obviously they're different right you can't compare them it's apples and oranges but still you can compare him and be like it's not that good it's not that good next up we've got doaku I'm not I'm not actually a big fan of this I've seen a couple people talking about this with with very high um you know how do I say it kindly they like it I'm not I'm not a fan just primarily because I think extra 50 science when you spend an so what you're going to do is you're going to take this and you're also going to take this uh and this is going to be your like science Bloom start the the trouble with this is that you're spending this point immediately you're getting science immediately and you've got access to production buildings immediately but the truth is this kind of hurts you if anything because you don't want to be building production buildings super duper early you want to get your scouts out and if you're if you make a scout and then get a go straight into a production building like you now don't have a second Scout even if you go two Scouts in production building now all of a sudden you don't have a third Scout and it's like Scouts are just so incredible they allow you to meet city state that you can become of they allow you to get goody Huts they allow you to see the map so that you can trade with other cities that are out there it is so important to be able to scout the map and to see it and to me this is like you're you're G you're gaining something sure you you've now got the ability to do that you're further in the tech tree wonderful but I feel like you're also hurting yourself and that's that's the part that makes that to me it's like it doesn't really work traveler sandals gain 10 of the corresponding yield whenever you spend an attribute Point absolutely terrible don't bother uh plus one for Scouts Merchants settlers and explorers I've seen some people talk about this excitedly I don't get excited I don't think it's good uh it is it's it's not nich you're always going to be able to get consistent bonuses out of it the question is going to be about whether the bonuses are good I mean the movement on Scouts is quite nice uh that that and that could be paired up with the policy that you get early on in discipline however at least I think it's discipline I have to double check it could be mysticism uh but uh that gives plus one movement and gives plus one sight to Scouts so yeah you could pair it with that but yeah I feel like you're just missing out on on so much other potential uh plus one culture gold happiness and science per age uh for each attribute Tree in which you have points so the way that you play this one is you grab it and then you grab a point like uh let's just say gromma here or you know what let's let's go treat of Kadesh and so now you start off and you've got one point that you can put in there but the thing is when you're playing ibben patuda and this is this is his special uh bonus when you're playing IB and Puda you get the two wild card uh points and that's going to allow you to put that into two two separate trees so now all of a sudden you're up to three uh different uh different trees so basically plus three culture plus three happiness plus three go plus three science from the very beginning of the game essentially I'm still not a fan I I've run some tests on it I I thought the tempo was definitely a lot lower than what it should have been and uh yeah I just put it aside and said no not not for me not for me uh next up we've got the Queen's jewelry plus two gold per age on natural wonders definitely if you're playing Isabella uh you can 100% go look to run this you can obviously run it with Patron real probably not it now that it's been nerfed plus two happiness per age on natural wonders it used to be plus 100% to all yields on natural wonders if you're working the most natural wonders uh RP Paton real it was beautiful to watch you for about a month then you got nerfed uh so this one Queen's jewelry definitely makes sense uh you're already going to have typically happiness bonuses from a lot of natural wonders so yeah I'm not I'm not a huge fan of this I don't think it works uh Queen jewelry definitely uh Bassel still up plus one sight for Naval units don't even think about it uh Forget Me Not gain 10 happiness per age for completing Nar events no definitely not uh 25% celebration duration I don't I don't see a situation where I'm like damn I really wish my celebrations were longer um maybe I guess I'm I'm typically staying pretty close to settlement limit so I mean even then it's one of those things where it's like why why do you want longer celebrations if you're already rolling celebrations I'm thinking like Jose Rosal lafette uh Charlamagne anybody who's got like happiness bonuses that are kind of like already there and they're just kind of pushing you celebration constantly you don't need longer celebrations like you're fine at least that's the way I'm thinking about it uh 10% to science culture and gold for each Legacy path completed in this age very very specific it's going to take you a long time to get access to these uh best case scenario you get three of them at 90% through like it it just comes too late you don't want things that are like big at a late stage you want things that are powerful early that's what we're looking for here which is part of the reason why I am such a big fan of this cuz it's like you your city goes from five production to seven production at the very beginning means everything's coming out faster I'm getting out extra Scouts and I'm getting out because I've got extra Scouts that means I've got extra goody Huts that I'm finding you know there's just so much that comes out of that uh let's move on plus two happiness per age for each social policy slotted in your government once again it's one of those things where it's like you know I feel like we've probably got enough happiness as it is obviously there's going to be circumstances where we wish we had more but this is definitely not enough to justify it uh cuz like okay sure that you're going to have like five or six eventually that's an extra 12 happiness it's really not that crazy uh next plus one movement to all Naval units definitely worthwhile uh I would say in the uh in the Age of Exploration could be very good uh if you were more focused on like using the calam of the i' I'd have to double check is it the Chola I I feel like I'm outing myself as not playing a lot of exploration right now the Chola nailed it dude and I clicked the right flag the first time absolutely nailed it so yeah with the cam with an additional attack per turn you want to be making lots of those you want to be taking control of the water I can see that working 100% uh next we've got tricolor cockade plus two cult and happiness per age in the capital for every tradition but not policy slotted into your government this is obviously going to work with somebody like Lafayette it works incredibly well it's got to be his bonus um he already gets plus two culture and happiness per age in settlements and he gets a bonus for the Traditions that are slaughtered so you're very much stacking up on more tradition so I'd probably like do this in Rome maybe uh that that could definitely work but just keep in mind it's going to a while before you unlock all of those Traditions so before you realize the full bonus but it's still going to be quite a strong bonus if you compare that to something like the plus two culture on wonders where that that hits eight culture at four wonders compare that to this H it's probably going to be could be roughly around the same time either way I I I think this has got some viability to it uh next up we've got discor sopra liio cost opponent 50% more influence to reject your diplomatic actions the only time I I don't I don't see the vision when would you want them to reject or when would you not want them to reject it like you always want them to not reject it unless you're playing macelli in which case you want them to reject it so even like the one case that sprung to mind which was like macelli I was like well no why maybe I'm missing it but I I just don't see it like sure they're just going to support all of them or accept them okay sure why not oh this this could be good if you're a warmonger cuz then your opponents can't reject your denouncements maybe maybe that's the pl I don't know plus five gold per sanction you have active per age this is only um actually is it even really good I don't even know if it's actually good uh you got to keep in mind that when it comes to sanctions like Emperor Napoleon he can run this together with the plus two gold portrait of Josephine and now all of a sudden he's getting like let's say 10 gold from this and then you're also getting 15 gold cuz you can have multiple sanctions going and he also gets the other sanction as well so you could have quite a bit of gold that's coming through from this I don't know if it's worth it though but definitely I could see it working but only working with Napoleon I couldn't really see it going with anyone else declaring a foral war decreases relationship with all untargeted civilizations by 25 probably marlli is going to make the most sense for something like that but once again very Niche very specific uh and that's primarily just because uh he he doesn't have any problem declaring former Wars and if you make if you make a uh if you declare war on somebody across the map you're going to reduce the Rel ship with everybody else makes them more likely to reject your diplomatic actions therefore you can basically just get away scotf free by doing this and declaring war on people that are far away from you and then you you're basically just making gold from it so yeah I can I can see that working plus one food per age on districts adjacent to mountains first and foremost you don't want to be building districts except for your uh monuments and Villas your happiness and culture next to mountains uh otherwise it's just kind of useless uh their bonus already or his Pion Bon already gives him plus one food adjacency for mountains there's no reason to stack up food is terrible as a yield you want to be avoiding it at all costs and there is definitely a world where once food gets buffed that this is going to be great but until that world exists this is going to be terrible next up we've got plus one site for Scouts adjacent to mountains this got Nerf from plus three sight uh for Scouts adjacent to mountains uh and uh it's still terrible still terrible it was terrible back then still terrible now don't bother plus one golden food from specialist in tiles adjacent to mountains don't even think about it plus one science for every Commander level definitely worthwhile especially on somebody like TR trong truck uh who has got plus three free Commander levels and you can obviously combine that with something like Persia that's exploration age with Persia who also get the initiative promotion so you can push that to plus four you can also get her commander experience you can go ahead and combine that with like uh where is it somewhere down here this one right here the Art of War uh which gives 50% experience if your commander is within the command radius of a higher level Commander so now all of a sudden I've got this level four Commander and I've got a second one that's next to it and now that second one whenever we fight is gaining even more experience and getting those levels and now I can really start to build that up so 100% I can see this being viable if you wanted to play a warmonger angle there's also another one down here I think it's uh culture we'll have to we'll have we'll find it eventually but there's there's another one in here for um for that if I remember I think there's culture and there's gold uh plus free or plus one free war support on all wars this is still decent like I think if there's if there's one leader that this is going to be good on it is uh it it has to be Tubman and that's just because she already gets five War support so going to six War support like the the the sixth War support is the most expensive out of the all of them right it's always going to be the most expensive that's the way that war support works so this this is very good on Tubman I don't know if you'd take it though compared to some of the other stuff right like it's still going to be it's going to be great you're always going to get value but whether or not it's going to be able to outweigh the other things I don't know but definitely viable uh declaring a former war against another civilization grants a tech boost us to Grant you a celebration now it's just a tech boost how how sad how how the times have changed uh unfortunately yeah I don't I don't really value this it's only attack boost as well which is decent right 50% science and if you're not making a whole lot of science then yeah sure that could be really good uh so I'm definitely going to say this one maybe plus one gold per age for every Commander XP earned this could be decent especially if youve got two three commanders out like maybe if you're you're stacking them up together like you're doing this and that oh here we go cian battle ax like the these two maybe that could work but I I mean if you're going to do something like this you probably want the Art of War in here anyway but I guess the other thing to note is there's already so many ways that you can stack up Commander experience gained that maybe you just want to take both of them together like this and I reckon there probably is a strategy that we could do where we do that uh so we'll have to keep an eye out on that uh next up we've got Lotus Blossom so Lotus Blossom is pretty much exclusively good in modern if if you're playing as the mugal mugal am I pronouncing that right the the Muggles let's have a look see if we can find the mugal right here I think that's pretty much about it so 75% gold from all sources so they get a whole bunch more gold than anybody else and because of that you can then subsequently um get science and culture that is equivalent or 4% equivalent to your gold income it's actually 5% not 4% um but uh you know a bug in si7 who would have guessed it uh next up Golden SEPTA plus three gold age for each other civilization settlement that you have conquered it kind of stacks up with the Persian bonus right the the Persian bonus uh together with Xerxes I think he's got a Bonus that's similar to this they have a couple of traditions or unique uh researches that they can do which allow them to grab this so you could probably stack this up but look realistically how many settlements are you conquering like let's say you you conquer three it's nine gold that's not a lot man that's really not much how how many are you really going to conquer you could maybe let's you conquer six that's 18 gold that's not much it's really not a lot next up we've got 400 gold for each settlement returned in a peace deal now this one is something that we could we could talk about here if if we took three cities at turn 90 no let's make it turn 60 then by turn 90 we've we've made 30 * 9 100 sorry 30 * 9 we've made 270 gold or we could just return them back in the peace deal for 400 gold immediately I'd be much more tempted to just take all the cities make my own you know what there's got to be a strat for that there has got to be a strategy for that you know what we do oh we take sword of brenis and we go for a shoker World Conqueror who gets plus 10% production in settlement's not founded by oh no that doesn't work you'd want to go like Xerxes or something like that yeah yeah yeah yeah you want to go Xerxes when you capture a settlement for the first time and you just go War everybody and take their settlements and then return their settle oh dude and then you use the gold from that to fund your next oh yeah yeah yeah yeah that's 100% a strat get out of here dude that's like the Undiscovered Strat we just discovered a strategy right there so you you basically let's say you got two neighbors first one you go and attack them you get 100 culture and gold when you capture that settlement for the first time then you you just go capture three settlements leave them one and then on the peace deal let's say even just return them too keep their cap I don't mind that's 800 gold you're then going to use that 800 gold to upgrade all your units repair them up in your your new city that you've just taken and then buy a whole bunch of new units that you're then going to take and then go War the next player with that that could be sick dude I like that Maro Mundi we've talked about this one already very strong when paired up with our with Marco Polo uh then we've got plus two combat strength for units adjacent to two or more enemies I like this a lot I think this is quite strong especially once you get into to uh into a lot of combat uh particularly with infantry units so you're not going to be doing um you ideally you're not going to be flanking with infantry they're just your front line they're typically going to be adjacent two or more enemy units so this is going to pair very well oops that's it's going to pair really well with civilizations that like to make infantry so naturally I'm thinking probably not well I don't I don't really like Persia I think it's I don't like the immortal uh but Greece so the cop the hopl is already getting two combat strength if adjac to another hopl so you two hls and they're both adjacent to two units then that's plus four combat strength that's wonderful so I I think that that's quite strong and definitely one of the things that I've looked to before if I was playing a uh a combat Focus playr plus one movement for range units uh the only time I thought where this could make sense is when I was playing as the Mayans and then I was like just mainly because with the Mayans like the key thing that you're looking to play into is is their hii right with the hii you can see through vegetation so if you can have an extra point of M it can means that you can reposition to a favorable spot and then get off that shot and you can do it through vegetation uh so I think I think this is quite good but even then I was just like well you can do all of that anyway with your existing movement points you're typically not going to need an extra movement point cuz you don't get like they ignore vegetation penalty so yeah I I I couldn't really see that working the the only one I can see working as I said is by corn hat I think for infantry units it makes sense cuz they're like Cavalry but they're they're infantry uh whereas this you know I don't need more I don't need to run away further next up The Art of War we've already talked a little bit about the Art of War I think this is quite strong it's more it's stronger with leaders that like to go to war obviously stating the obvious here uh but more so leaders that want to focus on commanders so leaders like Frederick oblique uh could be very good with that because he's got a larger command radius and so naturally you're able to take the Art of War which is in which is all about command radius so now because you've got a larger command radius it means that you can have whether more commanders in there or you can have them more spread out it gives you a huge bonus in that regard so yeah I I I like this I think it's pretty cool next up we've got Rani plus three combat strength to a units next attack after they destroy an enemy unit not really a fan of this this is like a a win more and after you've already killed a unit typically you're going to be low on health you want to try and repair it up you're not going to be going straight into your next attack and look you might eventually do that but it's going to be something that's difficult to calculate it's not consistent I don't think I'm not a big fan of it I'd much rather go for something consistent like this where I'm always going to be looking to try and get adjacent to two enemy units next up plus one science per specialist don't even think about it absolutely not uh we don't the power of the specialist is not in how many specialists there are but rather in how good those Specialists are now don't get me wrong okay once it gets to the Modern Age that completely changes we're about as many specialists as we can get cuz they got crazy production and crazy gold on them cuz that's the that's the only uh only ideology we believe in uh is is the production ideology uh but yeah otherwise not worth it uh Lantern a migrant appears in the capital whenever you complete an Espionage action without being detected I will say right now this appears to be bugged it doesn't do anything however I believe that currently this uh the the the whole feature the functionality of the lantern is actually within the Espionage action itself and it will most likely be removed in the future and the lantern will be the only way that you can get that in which case it actually makes Lantern very strong we'll have to wait and see how it plays out though because there's a lot of things that I think are bugged and other people are like no that's not a bug like as an example the Han wall the way that it works is that I mean I I've I've already done a video on it but when you put the great wall down it pauses your citizen cost for your next Citizen and it basically means you can just have like a huge City at the price of like a tiny little amount of food and my thinking is like well that's got clearly got to be bugged and someone who who's quite a very like a really strong player they've given me a lot of good stuff to work with previously has said actually no I don't think that's the case cuz if you look at the code it's only the the walls that that do it the Great Wall for the Ming and the Great Wall for the Han that's it no other no other thing does it so it feels like they've done this specifically and I said maybe but why and he was like well because you want to make a big defensive wall right like that's the whole idea and if you've only got five citizens in a town then you can't make that big defensive wall so they have to do this I was like well okay but that's completely broken like if that if that's the intended if if that's intended then all of a sudden it means that that's like the Han just become S Plus tier because I I every single one of my cities and towns has now all of a sudden got 46 population and then I can turn them into specialist all straight away it's crazy anyway that was a conversation for another time Lantern I guess my point is that right now it doesn't do anything so we have to give it zero however in the future if the bug that is fixed that I'm assuming is a bug uh then it becomes quite strong uh but at the moment we don't know meanwhile Satchel don't even bother just please don't just don't lose the settler okay please try your best not to lose the settler Punch Cards gain 20% science per age for every science building constructed it's terrible piano 10% culture towards studying Civic masteries once again I think this is one of those things where it is just very very Niche even for a leader like aah who gets you know every time that she gets a Civic Mastery she gets plus two science so you you want to be studying them more it's just like if if you really wanted it just just go take like a flat bonus to culture somewhere go take this one for all I care it's probably going to get you more next up oh I think this is this must be is this aers I think it is let me just double check right now yeah it is it's aers yeah so even then it's like ad just don't don't do the piano uh next up not g we've already talked a little bit about this one just because I don't know this could be crazy it could just be mediocre I think it's probably going to be mediocre cuz in my experience we typically want to go for things that give you an early boost rather than things that come through later and I know that that's kind of funny because we call like Maya overpowered as hell because you know they're not overpowered for their Antiquity age they're overpowered for their exploration and their modern but there's value in the earliness of the exploration in which the Maya I mean the Meer have got so many damn good things about them like that that's the biggest one right but they've got like 20 other little things underneath them that are also incredibly powerful um so yeah anyway not g the we're still waiting plus five combat strength against fortified districts for all units during a celebration so pretty much exclusively if you're playing as Charlamagne I mean not really as charam you could obviously like pair this up as with World Conqueror who gets 10% or 10 combat strength so now you've got 15 combat strength against districts in a celebration 100% uh I feel like it's one of those things where it's like a win more how often are you going to be attacking somebody's District without with with the insufficient number to actually kill it in the first place I mean I I I guess I can see an opportunity for it cuz you're you're not always going to be able to guarantee that yeah I've got enough enough number to take out this this specific building right uh so yeah there could be a world for it and five combat strength is quite a bit especially when you stack it with like the 10 and now five and and the 10 and now you're one-shotting districts okay yeah I can see that all right next up we've got silk otaria uh which we've already talked about extensively this one is incredible I love this one uh I this gives you incredible production at the early stages of the game allows you to get more scouts out allows you to get your production up quicker uh once your second City comes on online the the value is even greater because now all of a sudden that city is coming online sooner because that city is coming online sooner it means it's being more productive sooner it means that you're getting your yields faster there's just so much flow on from this that just compound so much by the end of the age you're talking about as an example eight cities and all eight cities are getting two production that's 16 production per turn it might not seem like a lot but you got to remember over the course of a game it really starts to stack up so I'm a big fan of this one lion Capital commanders received 50% XP during a celebration especially good for somebody who likes to go to war and likes to celebrate of course you know exactly who I'm talking about I'm talking about that that mad that mad man right there uh this guy is also pretty good there's a there's actually quite a few War celebration combos like ahoka World Conqueror War celebration Charlamagne world uh is a war celebration combo uh Trung track also a war war celebration combo as well because it's war and then it's celebration oh no that's sorry uh 10% science in Tropicals and then doubled while in a formal War it's not a celebration never mind sorry trong and then after that we've got sakaki Branch 25% production towards constructing happiness buildings look this is this is okay the only trouble is happiness buildings you're talking alter you're talking Villa you're talking Arena alter and the Villa are both very good the arena not so much so it's really only those first two like it is rare that I'm actually making Arenas in my cities I I would say I'm almost never making an arena in my city unless I'm over the cap by a large amount uh so I think realistically it's 25% production to those two buildings uh it's it's not big it's really not that big it it's consistent sure but and look over the course of a game you could probably get if you got eight cities you can get them online a little bit faster but I I think you're better off taking something like this which is just more flat value guaranteed next up we've got gain 20 culture per age at the start of every celebration me they just even if even if we somehow manag to get let's say 15 celebrations it's 300 culture over the course of an age no no just don't like it uh we've talked about this one we love this one uh I'm not going to try and pronounce it then we got flute plus one culture per age on Military buildings once again military buildings come quite late in the piece and plus one culture is not a huge amount you've already got quite a lot of culture you're talking about 200 plus once you reach the End of the Age so this is not going to be a huge boost to that uh We've also got voltar's edits gain 50 culture when you spend an attribute point on a cultural attribute tree uh so you can pair that with something like this bad boy right here and get yourself a very fast uh you could get a a super fast uh Pantheon with with this but once again I don't think it's going to be worth it I mean maybe if you really want to try and confirm a Pantheon but even then I I don't see the value I don't see the value uh next up we've got plus two free war plus plus two free war support on all wars declared against you so if you really wanted to get crazy you could take that and you could compare you could put it with ancus and uh well you could play as Harriet Tubman and if someone dares declare war on you you've now got five War support you've got six War support you've got eight War support no thanks you it's like literally playing against the day AI That's how powerful that is that's kind of wild man you know I want to try and do that I want to do it just so I can dare people to challenge me like that is disgusting when you think about how crazy it is and Ju Just to quickly talk about why this is so powerful because you got to remember Tubman starts at a baseline of plus eight War support which means that every time she adds on war support it starts at it's like 60 influence for the first war support it doesn't start at like 600 influence where it should start it starts at 60 because that's her Baseline this is this is affecting your Baseline and because of that that's what makes it crazy strong because each War uh or each each point of War support that you add increases the cost of War support but these don't increase the costs and therefore you're talking about just this is a Monumental amount of War support I I got to try it I got to try it I want to try it I'm just going to forward settle everybody and go them into attacking me like I dare you to attack me with my stupid amounts of War support that's crazy isn't it okay next up incense sensor plus two culture per age for every active trade route so pretty much only two circumstances I can think of that this makes sense the first one is when you're playing as Xerxes the trader AKA xeres that keid who gets a bonus trade limit with other leaders he wants to trade uh so typically you're going to be playing something like axum with this you could probably even play Carthage they do get some pretty good bonuses for trade but axom in particular they've got that extra trade route range so you could pair it with uh is it TOA backpack this one here poka backpack so higher trade range so you could definitely do a combo like this it's just important to note that incense sensor it's going to come online later on in the game so you need to hit code of laws to be able to unlock this or to be able to unlock your first Trader in the first plate uh with axom though you can get Traders earlier through their unique D which allows you to create a naval trade unit even before you actually have access to trade so that's one way that you can come online a little bit sooner and this will start to stack up by the end of the age like there are games where I've had like 15 trade routes that's a decent amount of trade routes so you're talking 30 culture and it it can stack up pretty quickly but um yeah not not a huge fan of it uh plus one trade route limit with all other leaders again not really a big fan of this I I think that there is 100% a world where where it could make sense like maybe in the very early stages of exploration if you're going for like an explosive religious start where you're looking to spread it through trade which is one of my strats and you don't have the influence generation cuz maybe like you weren't playing Han or you didn't build enough Villas or something like that um in the Antiquity age then this can make sense but other than that you're typically going to have enough influence to request your trade route so I don't think it's a huge problem uh chel only seal we've talked about this one we love this one this one's a great one um plus one culture and gold on unique buildings and improvements it's mainly the improvements that you want it for just allows you to just have so much extra versatility in your uh unique improvements so let's go ahead and get rid of that uh but as an example so if we were going to play with uh the best unique Improvement is probably Persia I'll say that right now so you kind of stacking up like on on the same bonuses but just as an example let's take like the mississippians they got the pot top or pot cop uh and you can just put pot cops around everywhere and all of a sudden now they're getting a gold in a culture mainly what you want to be using these with though is like Hill fors which come through from the uh the city states so they can be really really good uh next up we've got the port so definitely would love this one next next up we've got the portrait of Josephine plus two gold per age for every lead that you're unfriendly or hostile with primarily just going to be for uh for our boy Napoleon that's pretty much it other than that you could maybe see it on Mari as potentially working but even then it's like okay let's say you're hostile with five other leaders because for some reason you've got six people on your Island so you're making 10 gold for every leader that you're hostile with per turn and every time they reject it you're getting 100 gold so it's I guess it's one of those things where it's like you can't really compare a leader ability to a momento it's more about like you know how much is it giving you versus how much are you receiving and all that kind of stuff it's yeah I I don't know but I I I think if you were ever going to pair it with thead you would do MAV Val or or with Napoleon it'd be one of the two okay then finally we've got green Colonel's jacket plus one gold per trade route doubled if you have the highest number of trade routes now this one is something I can get behind just because unlike the culture which you know it it makes sense the gold it's tangible I can do good stuff with gold I love gold uh so and typically you know we're going to have the most trade routes if we're looking to play around trade routes we're going to have the most trade routes so yeah this can make a lot of sense I think if you're going to play it you could look to try and pair it up with incent sensor this could be pretty this could be a decent combo uh and I've actually taken this before uh when I've done an exploration playthrough cuz it's plus one gold per age per trade route so that's two gold per age per trade route in Exploration and doubled so plus four per plus four gold per age uh for every trade route that you've got and like I'll have 20 trade routes by the 20th turn something in that in that region uh it's a lot of trade routes it's uh it's a lot of trade routes it's a lot of gold uh but I mean at that point you've already got so much gold does it really make a difference probably not anyway next up we've got the crown of Napoleon uh gain 200 gold per age when a former war is declared against you very very specific hard to control I've played entire games with Napoleon where I've had everybody angry at me and no one's declared war on me so it's like it's one of those things that you can't really control like I can control how many people I'm unfriendly or hostile with but I can't control how many declare war especially former war against me uh next up plus one culture per age for every Army Commander level uh so we've already talked about the uh the science for every Commander level this is culture per age for every Army Commander level so slightly different there in that you get the culture per age rather than just flat culture uh but definitely something that you could look to try and stack these two together this could this could be big this could be big we'll say that much born hat I've already we've spoken about it I love it I think this is great um born hat is especially strong uh with infantry well rather movement is especially strong with infantry because they're big beefy tanky boys but they go slow so this increases their movement quite a bit and it's part of the reason why I think somebody like Napoleon revolutionary actually gets quite a lot out of this cuz now you got units that can move four and that basically means that no one's ever going to be able to run away from you you'll always be able to outflank them and you're always going to be able to do it with infantry so you know take napole revolutionary throw him on Rome pick up your born hat and just have an absolute field day because no one's going to be able to escape you you'll always be able to kill them it'll be it'll be beautiful next up Legion de hona Grand Eagle and cross unit in a command radius receive 10 HP after defeating an enemy unit it's one of those things where it's this is like this is the the whole concept of like winning more right like you've just defeated an enemy unit now you get to heal a little bit it's like if you're defeating enemy units you're already winning I I'll say that right now uh so look there's probably a use for this that I haven't found yet but the biggest use I've just found is the best thing that you can probably do is just jump on in the uh Commander after you've defeated a unit and of course that might be the difference between surviving and and not surviving to the next turn that 10 HP but there's probably going to be better things uh than uh than that or like better better uh better momentos that you can take next up we've got plus one food per age in settlements for each city state your no very similar to the plus one production the only difference is it's food and food is terrible don't get food we do not like food but we love production so this one no this one yes and this one yes plus one combat strength for all units for every city state Urus renov that means that we could be looking at plus 5 plus 6 plus 7 plus 8 combat strength for every unit very nice very nice and of course you can go ahead and pair that with the existing citystate bonus that allows you to uh get combat strength from how many how many city states you're suing of so now you can double that up it means instead of getting like Plus 8 you're now getting plus 16 and then if you're playing as the Greeks uh then you can also then you can also grab the bonus that gives you combat strength for every city state you're a of so now that 16 goes to 32 it's just it just it's it's it gets a bit silly anyway that's that's essentially it those are the momentos we've gone through them all that is absolutely it if you're if if you're thinking hold on a minute I I reckon you got it wrong on one of those momentos back there let me know down in the comments cuz I want to know as I said we're still learning Civ 7 it's going to take time for us to uncover absolutely everything and I haven't played with every single momento yet so there might be something that I'm wrong on in here but other than
