last time and you're going to identify the specific theater stage type Al because uh we uh did a discussion uh last Tuesday based on the given illustration the given column will lead you to the correct answers yeah that's true and we've actually given them Cho Jerry some Clues okay to help them okay [Laughter] first is it a because it starts with letter f a ano siguro sir ano to flexicol flexicol Facebook Gan it it kind of SS like uh I don't know cool or [Laughter] popsicle streamyard that's true I think this this is a great uh stage because it's actually very what call this it's adaptable audience play you can actually move around some parts of it yeah what do you think is the answer according to Mary Joy uh uh J kit it's flexible let's see is it flexible J kit yes correct very good Mar Joy F fible correct Lin okay go ahead CH Jerry the next one an uh it's it's the most common actually last time that's true it starts with letter P and it ends with letter M you know now this one is actually uh what do you call this I've seen this in like phant of the Opera in a lot of movies in like the Renaissance right so yes it's a it's a very prestigious kind of sage it's it's actually very common in yes uh the Renaissance the Victorian era Mar joyer note an prum according to Mary Joy a that's true is it yes it's prum very good Mary Joy and neslin as well and Josephine too Josephine yeah what about the next one J kit Ayan Mah Mah Kaya Yan ano Kaya number three yeah composition of five letters yes that's true true Jerry boxing match ring yeah boxing ring so that the actors and the actresses can actually interact with the audience okay so purpose kit so that they could interact with the the four corner aen Joy it's arena according to them an joy joy also answered it's correct yeah good job well Arena next this the last one Jerry Ki tiala tiala Tia or din NG NG Crush Crush Crush you know neslin neslin answered thrust thrust is it thrust J K let's see yes it's correct it's a Thrust kind of Jerry okay just no you are an expert in the field of oneup you're a one lover Jerry it's just like you're you're just thrusting me yes of course Jer congratulations every guys and thank you talaga good everyone uh you guys are you guys are such great students okay so J Jerry I think it's now time for us to go to our lesson now before we go on to the steps of how to write a one act play Meo we have to clarify some of the things uh that are very confusing in the world of of theater of drama so this is the question for you guys okay uh if you know the answer please type down your answers in the comment section the question is how is drama different from a what do you guys if uh student kit if uh this will be thrown to them directly in a formal class it's almost the same but then difference true Jerry so that they can like distinguish what's what's in drama and what's in play yes for example drama guys can you tell us what you think please see you can your answers in the comment section because it's already 456 that tutor Jerry yes so crazy well anyways should we just reveal the answer toor Jerry okay good tutor Jerry what is a drama by the way Tor Jerry uh drama is a written literature which is either Prost or Versed and it's usually in a dialogue form for performance it comes from the Greek word r which means to do okay so drama you have to do a performance I that's true Tor Jerry and specifically this is like the genre no this the genre and sometimes it's it's just and sometimes it can be acted now if it's acted it becomes a play a play yes so oh J Jerry myin uh oh the primary difference between play and drama is that play is a dramatic performance on stage whereas drama is a literary composition soer but once it will be per it's performed then it becomes a clear view on the differences Yun Yun Pala Yun so uh wendelin that's very good thank you so much thank you okay so Jerry place okay CH kit so one act it's a short piece of drama that consists of only one act actually discuss last time but then for a review it is only uh two to three characters and then a one play is a separate literary form by itself with a running time between 30 to 45 minutes yes that's correct and actually if you are just a beginning play right play that is why in the senior high school it is encouraged to do a one-act play as a you know as one of your practicum in creative writing yeah it's actually a lot easier to to to write because uh the set is limited no the characters are limited and then the running time is limited and actually it could go below like 30 to 45 minutes it's still okay feature one and ex if because just imagine cheor Jerry no mag one act play in a zoom via Zoom Wellness in the morning the morning yes I I would love to have that kind of energy to energy to right okay January January we will see we'll see we'll see now guys when it uh comes to W place you need to also remember that it also consists of a lot of elements that is present in a short story or in in in a kind of narrative it has a setting it has characters it has like some kind of property it has the stage as its main uh venue it has a conflict which is very important it has a point of view theme and more and just like a uh a story it has a plot structure that contains a beginning a middle and an end so audience and want a play they would feel a sense of accomplishment yes M to chor Jerry chor Jerry aside from those uh a oneup play also is a short and requires no elaborate setting and costumes it is the best training ground for the new aspirant through dramatic Fame an so a good foundation Ang One play if uh you're planning to be on the bigger stages just like uh national International place yes yes play with like four acts or five acts perhaps they could start with something small a onea play and that's a very good foundation for any aspiring playright hey CH Jerry chief characteristics of one out play the first first one is it treats the problem of everyday life such as love marriage divorce Justice crimes punishment for crimes LW uh labor conditions superstitions C uh customs and manners and then many more yeah that's true that's the first one that's true chter Jerry and a lot of these topics are very relatable that's why guys in in a one act play uh you focus right away on the problem no the problem for example Sal something like that you go straight or they're going through a divorce uh what if like you're Lola and you're going against a Superstition of your Lola so a lot of these things focus on the problem or the conflict of a story that is from a subject that is from everyday life no so relat Jerry no yes real okay so siguro they uh if you if you wanted to uh to to write a one play yes personal experiences a just not like relance break one [Laughter] play J Jer Kawa Naman ano hello Pala K lra Trisha vidad Vicki AET Baga Michelle Alvarez Serano NG alabad National High School hello an what's next J kit ay Exposition Exposition so uh if you want if you are writing if you're planning to write a onea play guys uh you kind of have to kind of picture it as like a pyramid or like a triangle the very bottom of the triangle which is the exposition is where you begin no and then you introduce the conflict the climax which is the highest point of the story then the Duma which is the resolution and then the ending so just kind of think about like think about uh the plot structure of a want to play like that so K once you're writing you can uh check where's my Exposition where's the conflict where's my climax or's the Numa and where is my ending something like that it will really help you structure your play so Jerrys of one play again so yes so let's define the five know Parts W and then the first one is exposition it's usually brief serves as an introduction to the play we have an example later on and it is through the conflict Nam that the action of the drama develops it is very the it is the very backbone of uh the one play okay that's true conf part that's true exting okay and now we also have the climax which is the turning point of the drama dramatic intense interesting part story no uh it could be the big reveal the big like uh plot to it something like that and then we have a the Numa which is actually the resolution then you get to understand uh the entirety of the play so kind of overlaps the climax and goes down into the ending or the resolution flashback that's true Jer yes and uh the den Numa actually kind of prepares uh your readers or the audience for the for the for the ending and so it needs to be satisfying for your audiences but when the ending comes they'll be like oh yeah that's a really good play I'm satisfied like that it's between uh o frustration yes that's true yes so now we will teach you guys on how to write a scene for a one act play by the way hi meay who is watching hello and also Angeline edura supported K yes I'm so glad okay so chter Jerry I new step one nothing for writing a onea play okay so our first step will be uh you have to decide on what uh your one pay will be about [Music] visualize impr you have to plan also laptop and then I'll just start writing no yes I usually would uh I actually would uh write down create an outline of my the plot structure next then next and then next so that I have like a map of what to do next something like that it will really pays off if you have like uh what I call this a plan this is what I'm going to do this is what my one act play will be about it kind of works like that sequence that's true Tor Jerry number two number two uh create a profile for your characters is it you have to Base According to the trade one okay so it's either protagonist kid that's true true Jerry no uh it really pays off due to get to know them characters they feel real real life yes it's it's based on uh personal experiences real life experiences that's true characters make a profile for them and stick to that profile next chter Jerry describe the setting background kit aort kit an describe the setting although stage or actually Jer it's fine for example if you're if you're writing a scene description set stage soine and play then maybe the stage designer can come up up with uh with with the setting for you okay sitc or long as stage set staging modalities an next next uh four Exposition Expos Sim so Jerry inuu Jerry yes something like that so just like a short story not the exposition is where we get to know our characters the setting the time the era something like that next is number five present the conflict right after the exposition you have to follow it with the conflict and short you have to make it sequential and then true soodu conflict social distancing visualize life joke okay next this is my favorite part present the climax it's the most interesting part I think CH kit itong climax that's true and then guys uh when you when you write uh about the climax try to what it call let try to build from the conflict uh give your characters pressure or they do something drastic uh the climax could be should be the the most uh intense part of your Play Turning Point in CL turning Point that's true an seven present the resolution we have to present now the resolution to it's 54 yeah present the resolution and that's number seven that's number seven at that but once again when just like we've said before when you end your onea play make sure that it will be satisfying for your audiences and for your readers so make sure that the conflict is resolved or uh sometimes it's not resolved but something is learned or changed uh in terms of like character development or how the story progressed okay so right now gu right now guys we will be uh reading just a portion to Jerry a portion it's 515 yes of one act play by Will Fredo Maria Guerrero called call me okay so what is the setting the setting I took uh the story took place in San Lorenzo Village and it's supposed to be a very high-end Village no okay Jerry characters the characters are the following Floren charagon de cares also known as Flory she was known as anang when she was still poor yeah yes so before she was really poor yes and she's actually trying to hide that she was poor before okay the other characters is are matilde which is a true blooded woman and he she was married uh to a fine businessman and uh she engages in charity work he's she's actually a really nice person and there's also Aang a poor woman who would reveal flory's true sture just a line yes staging staging yes an when the carton Rises we see florena and Matilda Seated on the SAA in Matilda Salah talking okay okay yes Ma I came right away when you called me up by phone to come and see you that's nice of you mrus I hope you don't mind but my last name is caracoles my full name really is Florencia Aragon de caracoles but just call me florena it's what an honor to know you matilde I've heard you are one of the best known Society women in Manila oh don't mention it it isn't true not true at all you're so modest matild I was told by Mar to get in touch with you she said You' surely help did you say Marilu called you up Marilu de gasby whom husband is the owner of that big department store at buendia yes but the reason that I called you up CL oh well my husband bought the legaspi rice fields in Pangasinan that cost 100,000 pesos but it was worth it the end the end we need to end that's true Tudor Jerry and we actually don't have time to do a checkpoint anymore cheor Jerry don't you worry uh dear senior high school learners if a FL during our next session by January that's true and one more time guys we would like you to do the challenge this Christmas message challenge if you have someone uh send them a message know post your message uh using the hashtag it creative writing and you make sure to tag that person who who is special to you and if we if we pick possible we wanted to end this session with a Christmas quote from Ruth Carter uh stapon which goes this way Christmas is most truly Christmas when we celebrate it by giving the light of love to those
