University Park - Instructions Contract First Year

Overview

  • First-Year Students need to accept Housing and Food Service (HFS) Contract through MyPennState.
  • Residency Requirement: Must live in University housing as part of the admission offer.
  • Residency Exemptions available for specific conditions.

HFS Contract Details

  • Agreement to legal terms and conditions.
  • Non-cancellable unless not attending Penn State.
  • Covers full academic year (fall, spring) and possibly summer.
  • $100 non-refundable deposit required, credited to room rate.
  • Preferences on HFS Contract are not guaranteed.

Preference Selection

  • Residence Area: North, South, East, West, Pollock.
  • Room Type: Options from single, double, suite, supplemental housing.
  • Roommate Preferences: Managed by submitting Penn State Access ID, mutual requests needed.
  • Living Learning Communities (LLC): Optional, enhances learning among students with common goals.
  • Meal Plan: Defaults to level 2, with different dining dollar amounts.

Room Assignments

  • Posted on eLiving mid-July.
  • Room Exchange eBoard available for assignment swaps.
