Preliminary Steps

  1. Install Manual Camera Compatibility App
    • Available for free on Play Store.
    • Purpose: To check if the 2 API cameras on the device are active.
    • Process: Open the app, click start, and check for green ticks indicating active features.
    • Note: A red cross indicates inactive features, making it unusable for GCam.

Installation Process

  1. Download Required Files

    • kingindo.zip: The configuration file.
    • LMC 8.4r18f1.apk: The GCam application file.
  2. Install GCam Application

    • Click on the .apk file to install.
  3. Configure the App

    • Open GCam, go to settings, more settings, and select config settings.
    • Save settings to create a folder for the config file.

Configuration File Setup

  1. Extract Configuration File

    • Use a file manager (e.g., ZArchiver) to extract kingindo.zip using the video provided password.
  2. Choose and Copy the Right Config

    • Different configurations for devices based on camera level and support.
    • Aux Config: For devices supporting ultrawide and electronic image stabilization.
    • Non-Aux Config: For devices without such support.
    • Use camera 2 prop app to check device's hardware support level.
    • Copy the appropriate yuv or jpeg format config to LMC 8.4 folder in device memory.

Using the Config

  • Open GCam, double-tap near the shutter button to select the config.
  • Import and activate the appropriate config based on device capabilities.

Review and Testing

  1. Video Mode

    • Full HD resolution with ultrawide and electronic video stabilization.
    • Results: Stable, vibration-free video without additional stabilizers.
  2. Photo Mode

    • Tested with HDR+ and without AWB (Auto White Balance).
    • Results: Detailed, clear images with balanced dynamic range and colors.
  3. Portrait Mode

    • Tested in cloudy conditions with HDR+.
    • Results: Natural skin tones, neat blur effect, and good exposure.
  4. Ultra Wide Mode

    • Tested without AWB.
    • Results: Well-exposed images with dramatic vignette effects.
