hello all you wonderful beautiful people uh who have supported me for the past five plus years of me making content or if you just started watching me a day ago I would like to officially announce my retirement from Hearthstone and before I get into why I would just first of all like to thank the entire audience every single person whether you watched one video one time or you're a consistent viewer in the Stream on videos and you do the like comment subscribing and things you have been a truly positive Community I would not have wanted to do this with anybody else um and if it wasn't with this this amazing group of people I don't think that I would have continued doing it the amount of support that you all have given me during times where I've been tilted or burnt out or just at the beginning when I was growing giving me the confidence to keep going it's been amazing I would not be here without you I remember watching people play Hearthstone csgo League of Legends on Twitch and YouTube and thinking one day I would want to do that and you guys have allowed me to live my dream it's been again amazing I remember the moment in college it was the end of my junior year when I told myself if I reach this amount of money in a month I'm going to give it my 100% effort out of college and I reached it top 10 moment of my life I was so so excited and to people who are who are at blizzard and specifically Hearthstone you've made a great game I have so many fond memories from this um whether it be getting the beta key with my dad and doing Arena runs together sitting next to each other on a chair debating what card would be best um first time I hit Legend um first time I got my 12 wins in Arena where it basically came off of a 2% chance and it hit and I managed to get my 12th win um playing Battlegrounds for the first time streaming in general and just hitting ranked goals like legend or even top 100 Legend all amazing things that have happened in in my streaming career so thank you for making such an amazing game that I've been able to play for 10 plus years uh and I guess I'll get into basically why so the main reason is I just am not feeling it anymore uh the best way I can describe it is like a TV show that had like six or seven Great years solid great years um and it just feels like it's dragged on a little bit and it no longer hits the same way and I'm going to show you a clip and I'm going to talk over it but you can watch it while I talk um and this isn't the only reason but it's a good like example of one of the reasons why I'm not playing anymore keep in mind they've got five Mana it's turn five and I've got a full boore just just for some context pay attention but the game just feels a lot more solitire to me which isn't necessarily a bad thing for casual players it's actually better if they only have 5 to 10 minutes they don't necessarily have the time to have this back and forth board-based gameplay that'll have slightly longer game times being more aggressive having these massive swing turns like building a sandwich and making a giant Board of taunts on turn seven a rogue generating 6 88s on turns seven and drawing through their whole deck being otk on turn five really fast Agro deck like all these things are better admittedly for a casual audience it's just not what I grew up loving about Hearthstone and it's the reason why I like playing um with ruren and the theory CRA not Theory crafting the expansion series because not only do we not have all the best combos but it brings me back to the time when I used to really really love Hearthstone um and it's why I will be continue doing that and if any Creator by the way wants to do something else like that with me or just a best of five or off meta challenges or whatever I would love to keep doing that um but just not on my channel but yeah this is this is a a a nitpicked example obviously not every game I lost by turn five but a lot of them I was losing turn seven or eight I literally played for two hours because I wanted to play the climactic necrotic explosion and it took me 2 hours to play it the first time not a single game in that time maybe two actually went to 10 mana and then only one of those games that I actually drew it which is just it's it's just not the way that I'm used to playing Hearthstone the other reason is just monetarily um I have another Channel My League of Legends channel it's doing really well and I'm very passionate about it I have some of the best content I think that I ever made and every single video is getting better than the last um I have a story I have all this content that I can edit down to make a funny 10 to 15 minute video that I'm very proud of making whereas a daily gameplay video just doesn't have that same level of Pride um in the creation and also after taking about a month and a half break I think my last video was 57 days ago um my viewership went from about 200 to 32 uh and keep in mind this is a theory crafting stream which usually averages more about 300 to 400 people and this one uh peaked at 32 after 3 hours of streaming and that's just a problem with YouTube and the algorithm once you become a daily uploader the amount of stress that you feel and one of the reasons why it was burnt out is because if you don't do that or you do take a break because I was on vacation for two months to be fair um the amount of time and effort it takes to build back up after taking a break like this is so demoralizing especially when I have another Channel at the same time that's doing so well so because of this channel not doing as well this channel doing super well and just not feeling the same same way about Hearthstone I am done with the game and again I'm going to still be doing the expansion series with raren and I would love to keep doing things with him if you'll have me or other content creators and doing things on their Channel because I think in small doses doing fun wacky things Hearthstone is still fun it's just not the same um so one last time I would like to thank you all for being such an amazing community and giving me the confidence to not only make this Hearthstone Channel a thing but my League of Legends Channel also um having the confidence to start that blizzard making such a wonderful game and the community uh in just in Hearthstone as a whole and the community program uh content creator program that you guys made albe it a bit late was still an amazing um just quality of life change for all of us creators so we had this one place where we can go to ask questions and interact with one each other a lot of positive things have been done and I think that this new expansion actually looks really good it's just not for me so if I see you on the League of Legends channel that be amazing and if not I wish you all the best hope you have a fun time playing Hearthstone or whatever game you decide to play
