Exploring Japan's Scenic Train Journeys

This time, we will experience riding on one of Japan's most famous trains! There's plenty of fun to be had along the way. Please use this as a reference when traveling to Japan! Please relax and watch! On this trip, we will transfer from Shin-Kobe Station to Izumo City Station by Shinkansen and limited express train. At Okayama Station, transfer to the limited express "Yakumo" and head straight to San'in... a short journey of about 360 km and 4 hours! I was immediately looking for an ekiben to eat on the Shinkansen... and there it was! This is Japanese morning! Everything is ready, including train tickets and limited express tickets! Pass through the ticket gate and head for home! I will be boarding Sakura 545 at 8:13. The melody of Galaxy Express 999 is heard on the platform. oh! It is cool! The train departs immediately after loading passengers. It's almost here! The information display on the Shinkansen is easy to understand. This time, the Sakura'' train that I will be riding has arrived! It's finally time to ride! You excited. The seat looks like this. The calm colors make it seem like you can travel comfortably for long periods of time. (But I won't be riding that much this time 💦) The train had departed before I even got to my seat. Let's take out the previous table. It has a stylish and solid feel based on wood 👍 It's nice that the blinds are easy to adjust! Reclining is operated by pressing a button. You can adjust it to a comfortable angle without tipping over too much. Awesome 👍 Hidden functions in places like this! A 500ml plastic bottle will fit comfortably. You can even place it under the window 👍The scenery from the Shinkansen goes by in a blink of an eye... You can see the factory chimney over there. It has been fully operational since this morning. Here it is breakfast time that I bought in the morning! It's hard to open with one hand💦Oh ! Looks delicious ☺️ First of all, the classic breakfast “seasoned seaweed” has a fun crunchy sound! Next, we will have kamaboko. Hijiki kelp tightened slightly sweet tamagoyaki is delicious 😋 Steamed chicken? Is not it. It was delicious with a little bit of pepper 👍 And the classic umeboshi! It's not just sour, it goes well with rice balls 👍 Be sure to try the sesame and salt rice balls too! The grilled salmon inside also gives it a Japanese feel ☺️ There's also an outlet near the wall, so it's convenient for charging your smartphone or PC 👍 There's also a coat rack. It's a little hard to tell, but it seems like there is an air conditioning outlet and you can adjust the direction. This may require some tricks. We drive through the peaceful countryside of Hyogo Prefecture... We arrive at Himeji in just a few minutes from Shin-Kobe. Himeji is a large city that is home to the world heritage site Himeji Castle.'' The Nozomi train will pass by, but the Sakura train will stop there, so sightseeing in Himeji will be easy.👍We will soon arrive at our transfer point, Okayama.'' Okayama Station is also the gateway to the Chugoku and Shikoku regions, so a variety of train lines depart from and arrive at it. The station is also large and functions as a hidden hub station. The conductor's English broadcast is cute☺️We have arrived at Okayama Station. Let's transfer to the next express train from here! It's cheaper than the Nozomi train and has a more comfortable interior. It's well worth the ride 👍 Oh my God! Unusually, a 500 series Shinkansen was parked there! This train is the "Kodama" train, so it stops at every station until its final stop, Hakata. Thank you Sakura-go! Transfer to a conventional line. ICOCA mascot character! From Okayama Station, take the limited express Yakumo at 9:13! Before that, I bought an ekiben at a convenience store inside the station. Enjoy later 😀 Okayama Station is also crowded with people. The train that arrived was the limited express Super Inaba, which stopped at Okayama. This is a limited express train that connects Tottori Station, the capital of Tottori Prefecture, with Okayama Station. This train has an overwhelming victory between Okayama and Tottori. Wow 😮 I have some time so let's buy some coffee. I feel like I'm about to wake up lol The emblem of the waiting area has become "Yakumo". I can feel the efforts of JR West! I will be riding in car number 7, a reserved seat in the regular car. The new “Yakumo” has finally appeared! The contrast between bronze and white is so cool☺️By the way, this bronze color is the deep golden color of the sunset over Lake Shinji, the golden color of the tatara ironworks, and the copper color of the torches of the Mt. It is said to be a color created based on four bronze colors: silver, red tile, and red copper. The color matches the San'in area, which looks great no matter how many times I look at it! Let's finally get on board! The seats are shiny and the inside of the car is warm! The seats are spaced wide so you can sit comfortably for about 3 hours. The table is also a standard size, so you can use it comfortably. There's a large luggage space, so it's comfortable for long-term trips to Japan 👍There 's also plenty of space for wheelchair users. This “Yakumo” is a limited express train with the hope that you will feel at home and feel at home☺️There is a toilet and wash basin near the door. Let's go in. As expected of a new vehicle! It has a very clean and bright impression 👍 Large life-sized mirror. There is a barrier-free toilet that is easy for people in wheelchairs to use. You can use it with confidence. I discovered a mysterious space! free space? There is a photo collection of scenery of the San'in Main Line and Hakubi Line on display. There's a small simple chair. Looks like I'll be using a drawer. The shape of the chair looks like a cloud☁️. This is the view when you sit down. There is a window on the side, so you can see a nice view while driving ☺️At this time, the number of vehicles was increased by connecting cars. The face kind of looks like a toad🐸 lol The mythical country (Izumo) invites you to an unknown land. It looks like we're about to leave, so let's enjoy the view from the train window! The train slowly departed from Okayama Station. Some people from the platform were fascinated by the new vehicles. After a while, you will hear the original chime. The band group Official Hige Dandism is from San'in, and the artist's song is a chime! It had such a beautiful melody that I fell in love with it right away! The biggest feature of this express is that it uses a pendulum system. The train is still leaning, but instead of the car body leaning due to natural centrifugal force, the car body is adjusted at the optimal timing by continuously comparing the curve data registered in advance and the data of the traveling point. Apparently it's tilted to make the ride more comfortable. The actual ride was very comfortable👍Now , let's get to lunch time! This time, I can't stop getting excited even before I eat Okayama's famous "shrimp rice" and "demi-katsudon" 😀 Wow! It looks very delicious😆Let 's start with the cutlet. The taste is doubled when eaten with rice 😃 The shrimp were plump and the rice had a lot of flavor and was delicious 👍 By the way, the rice was a little spicy. The demi-glace sauce goes perfectly with the cutlet! I continue to eat mindlessly... I'm thirsty, so let's pour some coffee! The best👍After passing Kurashiki Station, we say goodbye to the Sanyo Main Line and enter the Hakubi Line. Having Wi-Fi is a must when traveling to Japan! Thank you for this 👍 Thank you for the meal 👋 There is also a large life-sized mirror in front of the wash basin. The wash basin is brightly lit with floral lights. For some reason, soap didn't come out, but water did come out, so I was able to wash my hands. To be honest, I wish it had a dryer too💦 By the way, the operating range of the pillow is quite wide. You can also recline it at a suitable angle by pressing the button. The seat also pushes forward, making it comfortable 👍 Comes with a drink holder. It's amazing that there is no omission. Plenty of space for your feet ♪ There are also hooks for hanging clothes. Of course, there is an outlet under the armrest. No need to worry about running out of battery! You can also adjust the blinds to your desired position. In fact, if you look closely, you can see the Yakumo cloud ☁️ mark! (Looks like a Hidden Mickey lol) The first seat had a table attached to the wall. Beautiful cherry blossoms 🌸 are in full bloom along the Takahashi River! This Takahashi River runs parallel to Niimi Station on the way. The most blooming of this trip! Awesome 😆 Now let's take a look at the other vehicles! First, let's start with the semi-compartment. Reservations can be made for a minimum of 2 people, and the seats can be seated facing each other when traveling. It's a little private space ☺️ I'm thankful for the luggage storage. You can see the Takahashi River from the 4-person seat! Next, the green car has 2 seats and 1 seat, so you can enjoy a relaxing trip. There's a footrest! High praise👍The pillow part is thicker than the standard seats, and the seat width is also wider👍You can pass through the inside of the connecting part! It kind of feels like I'm on an adventure 😆Looking at it like this, the seats in a regular car are brightly colored, but they have a nice calm feel to them. It looks like we've arrived at the station. More than half of the Hakubi Line is a single-track section, so trains sometimes cross paths. The opposing vehicle is also a new model! You may be lucky as there are still only a few of them. (All vehicles will be replaced by this one in the future.) I was able to see some old models as well. I heard that the red and white contrast will be seen for the last time soon, so I feel a little sad. The cherry blossoms at this station are also spectacular 👍 We departed from Niimi Station, the last stop at Okayama Station! At this station, you can transfer to the Hime Shin Line and Geibi Line, and you can go to Himeji or Hiroshima! Now enjoy the wonderful in-car chime! Over there, the Geibi Line line splits... Once again, the wood-grained interior is amazing 👍 We're finally crossing Tanita Pass, the prefectural border between Okayama and Tottori! I have entered Tottori Prefecture! From here you will be in the San'in region. Passing through Kamiiwami Station, the first stop in Tottori Prefecture... The scenery in the San'in region is impressive! The field of rapeseed flowers is vividly reflected in your eyes! Daisen is the highest mountain in the Chugoku region, and many tourists enjoy festivals and leisure activities in both summer and winter. Because it resembles Mt. Fuji, it is also called "Hoki Fuji." Here it merges with the San'in Main Line, which runs from Kyoto. Technically speaking, the Hakubi Line ends here. Hoki-Oyama Station, located at the confluence point, is active as a freight terminal. You provide tourist information for Sakaiminato City, which is next to Yonago City. It flourished as one of Japan's leading ports, and had international shipping routes. (Scheduled to be revived this year in Sakaiminato-Tokai) It is also the birthplace of Shigeru Mizuki, the author known for the manga GeGeGe no Kitaro.'' It will be uploaded in a future video. Please look forward to it! Conan train! Gosho Aoyama, the author of Detective Conan, is also from Tottori Prefecture. In fact, it is a prefecture that has produced many manga artists! At Yonago Station, Kitaro, Medama Oyachi, and Nezumi Otoko trains will welcome you! Yonago City is also a sacred place for famous tourist spots. Yonago Station has been renovated and a beautiful glass-walled station building welcomes you. Even on the stairs, I'm conscious of Kitaro👀 I'll explain more in a future video, but I'll just show you a little bit. Click here for sightseeing spots in Yonago City! This is Kaike Onsen ♨️. It began during the Meiji era when local fishermen discovered hot water gushing out and developed it as a tourist spot. What you can see in the distance is the Shimane Peninsula. As the name suggests, Shimane Prefecture. Moreover, although this area is famous as the birthplace of triathlon, it is surprisingly little known. A charming hot spring town and the birthplace of triathlon. This combination is interesting, so please give it a try☺️Now , let's go to Izumo City again! Leaving Yonago Station... You can see all kinds of vehicles, so this scene is amazing no matter how many times I see it. A wrapping vehicle of a crying old man was parked! After a while, you can see the water in front of you! This is Nakaumi. It looks like a lake, but it's completely ocean. Because it is surrounded by land, it seems to have become a middle sea. The next stop is Matsue. There is a shrine in the middle. Will you go by boat? Arrived at Matsue Station. It is the prefectural capital of Shimane Prefecture and is an elevated station. Great picture! It is a fine station that represents the San'in area, with many Yakumo trains arriving and departing. Almost to Izumo City! There's still fun to be had! This time, a lake appeared! Lake Shinji This lake is called a brackish water lake where freshwater and seawater mix, and its specialty is clams. Last spurt! Increase your speed! We are almost at the end. Hii River : Say goodbye to the seat that will accompany you on a comfortable trip. Yakumo slowly enters Izumo City Station while looking at Ichibata Electric Railway's Izumo City Station... I feel a strange mixture of loneliness and happiness. Thank you so much! From now on, all trains will be replaced by this train, so the scenery along the line will likely change completely! I would like to ride the green next time 👍 I found a lounge! There are quite a lot of customers! If you're interested, let's take a look! The cloud☁️-shaped table is cute, just like a mythical country. The bench looks nice with clouds ☁️ ☺️ Thank you for watching this time! See you in the next video! Have a nice Journey in JAPAN!
