Scott Young's Ultra-Learning System

what if I told you that you could learn any new skill or subject up to 10 times faster than normal it might sound too good to be true but that's exactly what Scott young has figured out through his systematic approach to ultra fast learning his methods are grounded in real science and tested techniques this is a legitimate system for Accelerated learning not some gimmick Scott has made an impressive career out of learning things at a ridiculously Fast Pace he taught himself mit's entire 4-year computer science curriculum in just 12 months he became fluent in four different Lang languages in about a year each and in one of his most remarkable Feats he went from knowing absolutely nothing about drawing and painting to developing professional level skills in those areas in under 5 months when I first discovered Scott's work a few years ago I was pretty skeptical to be honest the idea of learning a new language in just a couple months or mastering MIT level calculus in a few weeks seemed way too ambitious to be realistic but as I dug deeper into his methods and the concrete results he was able to achieve I realized this guy was truly on to something Revolution AR so stick around because by the end of this video I'll outline the key tips and strategies from Scott Young's Ultra Learning System that you can apply to rapidly Master anything you want let's get started phase one is the pre-learning phase this initial phase is all about mapping out exactly what you need to learn and how you're going to tackle it most efficiently you do research to deconstruct the skill into subskills and Concepts you determine the 20% of materials that will get you 80% of the way there and you find a way to realistically practice and apply what you're learning from day one let's say your goal is to become a skilled public speaker in a relatively short period of time in the pre-learning phase you'd start by breaking down all the core elements of great public speaking things like body language vocal projection structure and storytelling handling nerves Etc you'd then identify the 20% of those skills that will get you 80% of the way there as a newbie speaker for most that might mean first focusing on just nailing confident body language along with an engaging storytelling part of this pre-learning stage is also figuring out how you'll actually practice those beginning skills you might decide to record yourself on your phone delivering speeches join a local Toast Masters group and find online video lessons demonstrating proper techniques but here's the key you limit this preparation period to just 10% of your total project time anymore and you risk falling into a cycle of endless planning and procrastination without actual execution the pre-learning Lays the groundwork but the real learning happens in Phase 2 Phase 2 is the immersion phase it's where you dive into focused deliberate practice in your chosen domain but not just any type of practice you have to make it extremely directed and purposeful for example if you're learning to play tennis don't just mindlessly hit the ball remember the fundamentals from phase one for tennis these could be things like footwork grip and swing mechanics eliminate distractions and create intense Focus sessions drilling each component individually do targeted exercises that tackle your biggest weaknesses and most importantly always tie your practice to real world applications and scenarios don't just drill in isolation practice situational Point play that simulates actual matches so you learn to apply the skills in context with enough of this type of focused purposeful practice and eliminating any inefficiencies you'll make rapid progress much faster than through typical just hitting balls type of practice methods phase three developing intuition after enough highquality practice following young system some something amazing starts to happen you'll find yourself developing a true intuitive grasp and Innovative Mastery over your new skill or subject matter the knowledge transitions from just being surface level ideas you've consumed to becoming a deeply integrated part of how you process information and solve problems you can start bending the rules creating from scratch and even pushing the boundaries of what's possible in your craft for example a boxer who drills punch combinations relentlessly develops the intuition to instinctively slip punches read opponents and fluidly string attacks together in a way mere memorization could never achieve it's that intuitive Mastery that separates worldclass fighters from the rest of course this whole process requires immense discipline and commitment following Young's techniques you're essentially doing months or years worth of diligent practice crammed into a massively compressed time frame it's not easy but the results allow you to learn at radically accelerated rates so there you have it Scott Young's three-phase system for Rapid skill master your task this week is to take out a pen and paper right now and write down what skill subject or craft you want to apply this accelerated learning approach to then re-watch this video one more time and start thinking about how you can strategically pre-learned practice sessions and drill your way to developing true intuition with rigorous application of these principles you can become a real life example of someone operating at 10x learning speed the possibilities for what you can achieve are truly endless if you are not following the to you project you're probably never going to see us again if you are then congratulations you are growing every day
