hi welcome back to our new video where we will be discussing what you can do to help your child increase their sitting tolerance now let's get into it did you know that there are various skills needed in order for your child to maintain their student tolerance you can help your child develop these skills by firstly when you're planning a task for your child identify their interests so that you can connect it to the activity that you'll be doing this can help increase your child's attention span which allows them to sit still for longer periods of time and pay attention better most children with autism find it difficult to pay attention because you're easily distracted even by the smallest of things having a clutter-free and calming surroundings can help create a more conducive environment that can help them focus if your child has sensory issues it may interfere with their ability to sit still comfort is extremely important in order for your child to concentrate using sensory seats or weighted toys can prevent your child from fidgeting and provide extra sensory input this can help your child feel more comfortable and makes it easier for them to sit longer use your child's favorite items as a motivation to get them to sit longer at the beginning your child may even struggle to sit still for 30 seconds this is why using reinforcements is essential to help encourage them and system task completion even if the task takes only a minute to complete sitting tolerance is important for a child so that they are able to focus in school at autism recovery network we also get your child using prompts if they have difficulties in their tasks when your child manages to complete your tasks successfully they are promised with rewards and encouragements and we will introduce new tasks that may take a longer time if you have any inquiries feel free to contact us using the information shown on the screen see you soon
