You know, Rinnai has a brand new tankless water heater that of course is the highest efficiency out there, but it's got some proprietary technology that I've never seen before. Let's get going. Okay, y'all, we're talking about the Rinnai Sensei RX. This is a brand new model that's now in stores for you to pick up, but it has some features that I've never seen before.
But first, before we get to those, let's talk about SmartCirc Intelligent Recirculation. That's been available for a long time, and for me as a builder, this is a big deal because the pump for recirculation is built in. I no longer have to do anything outside of this unit, and it's intelligent recirculation.
which means that it learns my client's schedule. Hey, they get in the shower at 7 a.m., so let's recirc the hot water prior to that so they're not wasting time or wasting water. Next up, this unit, though, is really a big deal from a pro perspective.
If you're a pro plumber or pro builder, this is going to make it easier to sell, install, commission, and service. And with that being said, let's get into the groundbreaking features here. Smart Connect. This is going to make setup.
a lot faster. Pros are going to use the Renai Central app and of course there's a QR code right here so you can download that app and when you get on that app it's going to connect to this unit via Bluetooth not Wi-Fi and now we can register the unit and set it up all from your plumber's phone. No more dip switches, no more Wi-Fi, no more getting the customers Wi-Fi password and you don't need to use the customer's phone to set it up either.
This is easily going to save you as a pro plumber. 15 to maybe 30 minutes of setup time. That's a really big deal.
Next up, SmartSense. This one unit straight out of the box can run on either natural gas or propane. Now that's not new. We've been able to do that by changing valves in the past, but in the past when we did that, we had to maybe run back to the supply house to get the part. We had to meticulously unscrew and maybe put the small little valve in to change the gas valve.
This unit has a brand new proprietary technology. They're calling it a lambda valve and this valve inside there is going to be switched via the app. So no screwdriver needed, no extra small fiddly parts, no worrying about dropping it in the mud. All we're going to do is set that up via the Renai Central app and right out of the box this is going to run either natural gas or propane. That's easily going to cut your skews if you're a distributor in half, but what that means for plumbers is now I can just have one unit on my truck.
and it doesn't matter whether I've got natural gas or propane. I'm going to install that. I'm going to set it up to run with either.
All right, the other big deal about this unit is it can be mounted inside or outside right out of the box. They call it VersaVent. So when you see this unit right here straight out of the box, it's going to be set up for the standard PVC venting. We can use a concentric vent. We can use two PVC pipes.
But the deal here is on the VersaVent, I can change this from its standard setup, which is an interior mount to an exterior mount. by grabbing an accessory part called a VersaVent. This little plastic piece right here just fits right on the top.
We're going to just change two or three screws and all of a sudden this same unit could be mounted inside or we could make it on an exterior mount just by adding that VersaVent. All right guys, remember all Sensei RX models are going to meet Energy Star 5.0 requirements with UEFs to 0.98 which is really the highest in the marketplace. which means the flue gases are not very hot at all it's wringing all that efficiency out of that condensing unit lastly let's talk warranty renan's got the best in the business when it comes to warranty when you as a plumber set this unit up you're going to register it and that's going to give your clients an extra four years on labor warranty so now they've got a five-year labor warranty they've also got a 15-year heat exchanger warranty and they've got a five-year parts warranty this is a really really nice unit.
And of course, you know, this is a long standing company that makes incredible units. I've been a Rinnai user for over two decades. When I first started building here in Austin, Texas, my very first house that I built for a client had a Rinnai in it. And my personal house unit got a Rinnai when I remodeled.
Almost two decades later, those two units are still going strong. So this is a really long lasting piece of machinery. And when it comes to Rinnai and the tankless category, I always tell people these are going to last twice as long as your standard tank. If you maintain this over the years, you're going to get a lot of life out of one of these units.
