Bubbler Humidifier Setup and Maintenance

Proper Functioning Check

• Hook Up: Ensure the bubbler humidifier is properly connected to the oxygen concentrator.
• Validation: To check if oxygen is flowing through the line, place the nasal cannula into a cup of water.
  • If it bubbles, air is passing through.

Connections Check

• Ensure the cap and connection hose are screwed on tight.
  • Avoid cross-threading, which can affect functionality.

Water Levels

• Overfilled Bottle: Can push water droplets through the oxygen line.
• Proper Filling: Fill the bubbler about halfway between the minimum and maximum lines.

Assembly Tips

• Ensure connections are snug but not overly tight.
  • Over-tightening can cause cracks.

Water Type

• Use Distilled Bottled Water: Avoid using non-distilled water to prevent occlusions.
• Example: Occluded holes can occur if not using distilled water.

Troubleshooting Cross-Threading

• Cross-Threaded Cap: Leads to no air flow.
  • Validate by checking for no bubbles in water.
